For all of my moves across Chicago I have used this company. Actually found them through yelp and they were very efficient and responsive to my needs. The movers were on time and even when my building has certain issues they work with me very well which was great. None of my property was damaged throughout my move, so I definitely will use them again if I move within the city once more, I also appreciate the transparent prices that they list on their website inventory form. Given the furniture that I had for my one bedroom moving into a studio and then back into a another one bedroom. I would say that this was definitely cost-effective for me to get professionals to do it. read more

Marlon was exact and a planner. His team of Demario and A Helper. They worked as a team very systematically and careful of our furniture and 60 in television! I had scheduled a two-stop move--first my boyfriend's, then my own apartment--several weeks in advance with this company. They called the day before to confirm everything, and it seemed all set and ready. Today, the scheduled move day, I was told the movers would arrive between 1-4pm, and they would notify me at least 30 minutes before they were on their way. All my stuff was packed and ready, and I was anxiously waiting to hear from them. I received no updates until 3:30pm.--not even a text--which I understood given how busy moving days are, so I expected them closer to 4pm I called just to gauge the situation, and I was told the movers were running a bit behind because the previous job took more time, but they would be heading over very soon. Then, I received a call from one of the men who was supposed to drive my truck, and he told me he was still in Grayslake--about 1.5 hours away--and they hadn't left yet, but he would inform me once they departed. I was obviously very upset because it was around 4:30pm, and they still hadn't left. I called the office manager around 5pm to express my frustration and ask for help. She said she had another crew coming to help get started but that they hadn't left yet and also needed to stop for food first. I understood slight delays and that employees need to eat, but she still couldn't give me a confirmed ETA. I asked if they could move us out the following morning instead, since we had been pushed back so far, but she said they were booked for the next few days, so that wasn't possible. When I asked why it was okay for them to push back our reservation but not others scheduled later, she told me, "you were not pushed back, you are still getting moved today." I believed her and kept waiting for the "new crew" that was supposedly 30 minutes away but still had to stop for food, and the old crew supposedly coming to take over (both had left, according to the manager). We hadn't heard from anyone, and by now it was 6pm, so my boyfriend called the first mover who had updated me, and he still hadn't left. We realized we were probably being strung along and taken advantage of, so I had to cancel at 6:30 p.m., after more than five hours of waiting and being told "they are coming today." This behavior is highly unprofessional and unacceptable for a customer paying over $1,000 or for any service. I strongly advise avoiding this company--especially if yours isn't the first move of the day--because they don't seem to care about your time at all. read more

Thanks guys: Mike, Paul, and John. Good enough experience as a whole. The pricing seemed reasonable, though I would not qualify as a "deal". The movers did a good job. Some items were a little damaged during the move, and they didn't seem too happy about helping to re-arrange the big furniture. None of this was bad enough to make a big deal about it, but it does matter for customer satisfaction. Hence, 4 stars. read more

Terrible experience. I'm writing this review in the hopes of saving someone the mess I had to deal with. The movers broke the door to my building and damaged several pieces of my leather furniture. For months, they refused to pay me the money they owed on my damage claim unless I signed a settlement saying that I would not write or say anything negative about them. (So FYI, if they damage your stuff, they try to make it so you can't write a review. That's why they have few bad reviews on here.) I told them several times via email and phone that I was not interested in signing the contract, especially since they owed me the money based on Illinois Law. Then they would either ignore my message, or they would follow up saying they would not pay me unless I signed the contract. This is how one of many phone calls with Donna went: I told Donna I was following up on my damage claim and have not received the money I was owed. Donna said she doesn't handle that part of the business, and she would have Nick the claims guy get back to me via email. (Donna had said this to me in prior conversations, and Nick either didn't get back to me or ignored what I said and told me I needed to sign the settlement.) I told her I would like to talk to Nick via phone, and Donna said he's not there. So I asked for Nick's, number and she, got defensive and said she doesn't give out personal numbers. I said I was of course asking for his work phone number, and she said it's the current one she was using. After many phone calls and emails over multiple months, they eventually did pay me the money from my damage claim, but it was a massive pain. Go with another mover. read more

The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because they are definitely not gentle with your stuff. That said, they are generally careful and are VERY efficient. I didn't have all the large items of a move. I got rid of my bed and a futon from my guest room. But I had a ton of boxes and the usual other stuff. They sent six rather than four guys and two trucks. These guys had me out of my old place (with 4 floors) and into my new place (a first floor apartment in about 3 hours. They came in well under the estimate and the guys were polite and communicative. I would absolutely use them again. As they mention in their moving prep email they send out, pack your things very carefully as accidents happen (I took my most prized things in my own car) and just relax! read more

I can't speak highly enough of 2 Guys and a Van, they made my move absolutely seamless. The crew was fantastic, they were incredibly efficient and careful with my things. They were playing music the whole time, keeping the mood upbeat, a real feat for a stressful moving day, especially since my appointment was their third move in/move out appointment of the day. My grandma and mom were moving into a place together so it was actually three different apartments and honestly was thinking getting movers was going to be a tedious process, especially since they both decided last minute that movers might be better for all the furniture. I used Yelp to send estimate requests and 2 Guys were the first to respond. I wanted to comparison shop and called some movers and it seemed like there are provisos and addendums that would make their estimates really low. 2 Guys was up front and Donna was quick to answer all my questions and their pricing honestly was the most up front. The day of, Milo, Ivan and Fernando were courteous, friendly and obviously the best quality in movers, efficient. They came within the time window and after walking them through what needed to be moved they got to work immediately. The building being moved into had elevator issues- but they still tried to do their best despite the fact that only one elevator meant people kept using it while they were trying to load up. Despite the setback the move was done in a little over 2 hours, which was just slightly over the estimated time which was still very fast given technical issues during the move. Definitely made the move a lot less stressful and would call them again if I need moving help. read more

This is the first time I've ever used movers. You know how they always say don't take the lowest estimate? Well I got estimates from the top 3 moving companies in the Chicago area, and 2 Guys came out as the lowest. Since the rating was so high I went with them. By the way, the estimate and booking process was as easy as sending 1 email. The guys called 25 minutes ahead of time and showed up on the dot. Johnny, Anthony, and Derron were the friendliest guys you'll ever meet. It was like meeting friends you've had for years. Anyway, they got started right away and knocked out my 1BR apartment in less than an hour. They were also accommodating to my crazy cats who like to try to escape. After meeting them at my new apartment in Lakeview, they took care of parking right in front of the apartment while I got the keys. When I finally secured entry, they went straight to work carrying all my worldly possessions up 4 flights of stairs quicker than I could have ever imagined. Oh, by they way, this was all with 1 fewer man than the estimate stated. However, they still finished the move, to the exact minute, with 3 guys instead of 4. Because of this, the total amount due was over $200 less than the estimate quoted me. Basically, these guys cost me half of the other quotes I got! I will absolutely be using this company again when I move out! read more

Dominic, Angelo and Mike did a fantastic job. They were professional, friendly, very careful, and FAST. The quote I received was lower than all the competitors, yet they finished before the estimated time so I ended up paying less than the estimate. They also were the only company to offer 3 movers instead of 2 and it made a HUGE difference. In terms of safety, they wore their masks the whole time and helped maintain a safe environment throughout the whole process. Very appreciated! You will be missing out if you don't use 2 Guys and a Van for your moving needs!! read more

I am really struggling to understand how this company is so highly rated. The booking process was positive and easy, but that was about the only positive. We went with them as they were the only company available (we were moving in the 1st of the month and scheduled fairly close to our move date). We were the first move of the day and the movers showed up half an hour after the arrival window (not the end of the world). Once there, the movers were in no rush and one of the crew spent ~10 mins in the restroom which I then had to clean up after once they left. We were moving our things into a storage unit and they were incredibly careless in doing so. Things were stacked in a way where fragile furniture was supporting heavy boxes, ultimately breaking several pieces of furniture. While the movers were friendly, they were not good at their job. Needless to say, when we move into our new place in a few months we will be going with a different company. read more

Hired these movers after indicating I had large pieces they brought a truck that was too small. They overcharged me because of two trips that had to be made as a result of their improper planning. In the process the team split up and damaged a dresser, dining chairs, stacked boxes in one heap labeled do not stack breaking candle sticks and a sound bar. Management quickly dismissed items as being excluded in their insurance and did not admit fault in their failure to provide a truck adequate to the manifest items. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere before contracting. read more

I used this company to move from the city to the suburbs in October 19. The home office was very quick to respond to all my questions, even after hours, and the guys were all so nice and helpful. I was worried about them not handling my furniture well because of a past negative experience so I wrapped a lot of stuff ahead of time, but even so they went out of their way to make sure my stuff was protected. I think one piece of feedback is that they did need to use some of my tools to take off my door in my apartment complex, and needed to take my bed frame apart, and they did not have some of the basic tools to do so, so I lended them my tools. I would recommend the guys come with more of a variety of tools and parts to assist customers. Otherwise amazing service and price. Easy payment method, too - credit card. read more

This was the second year we've used 2 Guys for our move and each time they've been reliable, efficient, and personable. We will most certainly continue to use this company when we move. They take their job and our time very seriously. They wrap all of our furniture meticulously with blankets and plastic wrap which prevents damage. I've used 2 Guys and a Van for all of my moves in Chicago and they are the absolute best moving company to work with. They make everything incredibly easy from start to finish, from requesting a quote to the actual move itself. The staff that handles the logistics to the crews themselves are amazing. I cannot recommend this company enough! Moving during a global pandemic sounds very daunting but, Ahmad and his crew made my move last Friday smooth and seamless. We had Raymondo & Gramaldi move three large pieces of furniture including a couch from our house on the north side of Chicago to the south loop. They were timely, careful and quick workers. They wrapped the items, loaded them into their truck, transported them, unloaded into the elevator dock and set them up in the apartment within an hour! We were delighted and will certainly use them again! read more

Our 3 guy crew Jovan, TY, and Mo worked so hard and did a great job! They arrived within window despite traffic, moved very quickly and did a good job wrapping everything. Our 2 bedroom move was estimated to take 4 hrs 45 min but they got it done in 3 hrs 30 min. They were very nice and organized. I also appreciated how responsive and nice Donna was in helping us set up our move. I found it difficult to know what our exact inventory would be before we were all packed and Donna accommodated all of our updates as well as answered all our questions. Everything went smoothly! Booking process was relatively painless. They gave me a base price of $305 initially for 2 hours, but after I gave them an itemized list of the items that needed to be moved (we didn't have a lot considering the size of our house), they lowered the price to $265. This was the cheapest price we had found after consulting 3 other moving companies. So, on the day of, they said they would come between 1-4 and arrived at 2:45. Started at 3 and finished around 4:15. We had a few heavy/awkward items that needed to go upstairs and they were quick and efficient with it, although I think I got one small ding on my ceiling. No big deal. I also accidentally underpaid them and they were nice enough about it. We met up to pay the rest and he was very understanding. I had one small comment, though, I had $280 on me and no change. It would be a nice courtesy if the company would consider having their movers carry change for these instances. But, really, not a big deal. Thanks guys! read more

These guys were incredible. Moved to Chicago using a PODS and hired them for unloading. Quoted for a 2 hour job using 3 guys. Not only did they call asking if we could get the move done earlier in the day but moved all of our things in 48 minutes. Nice, friendly, considerate of our things and honestly the best and most efficient movers I have ever worked with. Would use again over and over without reservation. read more

I had a (relatively) easy move - just furniture from my 1 BR apartment in Lakeview to Lincoln Park. The team showed up exactly when they said they would, carefully protected my furniture and began loading the van. Less than two hours after they showed up, they were completely done with my move. I had originally been quoted 2 hours (despite other services quoting me for 4-5 hours with the same exact inventory list). The movers were helpful, very kind, and very professional. I will ABSOLUTELY be recommending 2 Guys and a Van to any of my friends who are moving, and, should I move again in the future, they will be my first call. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with 2 Guys and a Van was one disappointment after another. The problems started before the move even began. The crew arrived over an hour late. The first truck didn't arrive until approximately 10:10 AM, and the second truck didn't arrive until around 10:20-10:30 AM. Yet my bill reflects a start time of 10:06 AM. I questioned the billing and never received a satisfactory explanation. During the move, the crew caused significant damage to my wall. Rather than taking ownership of the damage, I was simply told to "file a claim with Donna." I did exactly that, completed all of the required paperwork, submitted photographs, and waited. After following up multiple times with little communication, I was eventually offered a settlement that doesn't come close to covering the cost of the repairs. The most embarrassing part of the day occurred at my new building. I mistakenly directed the truck to the wrong loading area, and I fully accept responsibility for that. The building's maintenance manager politely came outside to redirect the movers. Instead of handling the situation professionally, members of the moving crew began making comments about him that he overheard. The situation escalated into a shouting match between your employees and the building manager while all of my belongings were still on the truck. I ultimately had to step in myself and tell everyone to stop arguing so the move could continue. The building manager was so disturbed by the behavior that he requested the company's information and stated he would consider banning 2 Guys and a Van from performing future moves in the building. That is beyond unacceptable. To make matters worse, after the move was completed, I asked if I could send one Zelle payment for the tip because I didn't have cash. I was told that was perfectly fine and that it would be split among the four movers. Several hours later, one of the movers texted me asking to confirm the amount of the tip, making it seem as though what I had given wasn't enough. I found it completely inappropriate to be contacted after the move regarding gratuity, especially after I had already tipped the crew in good faith. I gave this company every opportunity to make things right. I communicated directly with management, submitted the required claim forms, provided photographs, and attempted to resolve everything professionally. Instead, I was met with slow responses, minimal accountability, and an offer that I believe does not fairly compensate for the damage or the overall experience. Moving is stressful enough without having to deal with damaged property, billing concerns, unprofessional behavior, and poor customer service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend 2 Guys and a Van. There are simply too many moving companies in Chicago to risk going through what I experienced. I have processed a formal complaint with the BBB , City of Chicago and contacted a legal firm. read more

Good: Good, fast moving; the movers were polite and professional Bad: They forgot to call 48 hours before the move, and they were late on the day of the move. Background info: My wife and I were moving from a 1-bedroom garden unit to a 2-bedroom apartment a mile to the north. We didn't have much furniture, other than a large bookshelf, a wooden dresser, and a large treadmill, which we knew would be the most difficult item to move. Otherwise we had numerous small and medium-sized boxes. Our new apartment was on the third floor of a small building that does not have an elevator. Scheduling: I contacted 2 Guys and a Van about three weeks before our June 30th move, which was later than I should have, but they still a time slot available that fit our schedule. They asked me to fill out a form on their website, which was easy to do, although some of the entries are redundant. Within an hour, Kenny sent me a quote for 4 hours of work with 4 men and a 16-foot truck. The price was in the range that I expected and seemed reasonable. The invoice said that they would call 48 hours before the move to discuss the details. I did not get a call from them two days before the move, and I started to worry that they had forgotten about my appointment. I called them in the evening and left a message. The next morning, Kenny called to confirm that my appointment was still scheduled, but he didn't review details of the move. The day of the move: The movers were scheduled to arrive between 1:00 and 3:00 PM. At 2:50, I received a call saying that the moving team had been delayed by the last job and would get lunch before coming to us. The moving team (Tom, Skyler, Anthony, and Anthony) arrived at 4:30. Tom reviewed the details with me, surveyed our boxes, and said, "This won't take four hours." Within ten minutes, they had almost half of our stuff on the truck. They worked quickly as a team. They had the truck at our new apartment by 5:30, and they had hauled everything up three flights of narrow stairs by 6:15. The treadmill was the only tricky part, but they still made it look easy. The move took about 105 minutes, but they have a 2.5 hour minimum. The price still was $200 less than they originally quoted, so I was very happy. I definitely got my money's worth. read more

I used 2 guys and a Van to move apartments in Lakeview. A friend recommended them and when I reached out for a quote, I received a friendly response from Donna. She did a great job providing all of the information for my move. It was easy and only took a few minutes. I realized there would be some challenges with the move timing (I needed to be out of my old place by noon and into my new place before 1:00) and Donna helped me explore options and quotes for overnight storage or other solutions to help me land in the best situation for the most affordable rate. This was so unique for a moving company. Rather than take advantage, Donna genuinely wanted to help a potential customer! Donna assured me the movers could get to my apartment around 8:30-9:00am, giving us plenty of time to be out before noon and into the new place before 1:00. On moving day, the movers did arrive a bit later than anticipated (9:30) but that was fine, as we were out of my old place and in the new one well before the deadlines. The movers were SO friendly and thoughtful with my furniture. They did a great job wrapping all of the big items like my TVs, sofa, artwork and more. They had no issues navigating my tricky staircase or tight corners and were clearly trained professionals. There were a few minor damages to my dining table and a lamp, but nothing unexpected from a move. The majority of my furniture was in great condition. When they finished, I was able to easily pay them with my card. Because they charge based on the number of rooms and the actual time it takes to move, I actually ended up owing them a few hundred dollars less than what I was quoted. I signed up with 2 Guys and a Van to move my furniture from single family home in Naperville to a condo on the north side of Chicago with four floors with no elevator. My condo occupies all four floors - living room on the first floor, dining room, kitchen and family room on the second floor, two bedrooms on the third floor and two bedrooms on the fourth floor. The movers arrived exactly on time. It was a three man crew. All three guys were very professional, and very friendly. Since we're in the process of selling our old home we were only moving half of the furniture and leaving the other half for staging. These guys not only moved our stuff into the truck. They also helped us move boxes and furniture from the second floor all the way to the basement for storage. Then they helped us move furniture from one room to another for staging. And finally, they helped us move furniture out to the curb for disposal - wow!!! Wait - it gets even better. Once we arrived at the condo, they had to haul all of our furniture up one, two and three flights of stairs, up very narrow winding stairways and they did it all without damaging any of the walls. One very large piece they had to lift it up from the ground floor to the balcony on the second floor because it wouldn't fit through the stairwell. Then they took the time to place all of the furniture in exactly the right spot we wanted it and they were very careful to always lift the furniture so as to not scratch the hardwood floors. Finally they cleaned up after themselves. The whole job took seven hours because we had so much stuff to move and these guys did it quickly, efficiently and without any damage. I'm terrible at moving. I waited until the very last minute to book movers. I called all of the moving companies, one by one, as ranked by yelp. No one had any time. I'm panicking when I called 2 Guys and a Van. The guy I talked to was like 'yeah, we can fit you in'. I had our new building's elevator reserved for a strict 3 hour window. I was pretty nervous, fairly sure things wouldnt go very well when I passed out late Friday night after a frantic 6 hours of packing as much as I could. The guys from 2 Guys and a Van were supposed to get to our house at 8 am. We had the elevator at the new place from 9am until 12 noon. 7:50am rolls around and my phone rings, waking me up with a startled, confused mindset. I always dread moving. And morning. I answer the phone and hear 'Hey this is Johnny K. with 2 Guys and a Van. We are about 5 minutes away'... I pull clothes on and cant for the life of me figure anything out (not a morning person). I run outside and meet the crew - Johnny K., Sam M., and Vince. While I'm trying to figure out where they should park, Johnny is parking the van. My point being I was about 5 steps behind these guys the entire move. They got all of our stuff packed in their truck in like 45 minutes. Not ONE thing was damaged. They got to our new place before we were able to (how, I have no idea... these guys are amazing.) They unpacked everything and were done at like 11:30. They offered to help us reassemble the bed and bookshelf, and a couple other things we had left assembled, which they were able to handle with no sweat. I moved 13 times, so I have had tons of different movers. This crew was among the nicest and most professional. They also handled the boxes upright rather than flipping them around like some crews do. They were fast and everything got done under the quote. This is a big thing people often overlook but the administrative process in handling the quote and setting up a time was VERY quick and easy. I am mentioning it because I moved with New City twice before and this is exactly why I couldn't deal with them again. They had 5 different people and 5 different email addresses to set up a move...and they never answer their phones. The New City crew foreman also decided to not charge me for any materials (he took from the company) if I'd leave the equivalent cost as the tip. I love to save money as much as anyone but that is just shady. Anyway, I am just mentioning it because they are ranked so highly on Yelp, but I do not think they are all that they are cracked up to be. They also folded my (innerspring) bed to get it in the elevator and basically screwed it up pretty bad I had to buy a new one. None of that happened with 2 Guys & a Van. It's clear that the crew from Two Guys and a Van (along with the office staff) are hired and trained completely differently and are far more professional to deal with. The price was pretty reasonable too, after calling around to a few places it worked out the best for my move. The foreman was really nice and when I told him that a previous mover broke the base of my lamp (cheap-ish floor lamps with a heavy base that broke apart) - he didn't even say anything bad about that mover. Luis and Papo were my 2 movers and they were AMAZING. They were efficient, fast, and got everything out of my apartment as quickly and easily as possible, considering they were sharing an elevator with my roommate's movers. They took apart my bed and put it back together perfectly. They even offered to move my boxes to the rooms I wrote on them. I would give them 5 stars. However, I wish the front office were as great as my movers. They are the reason for my 3 stars. The day before the move they had called me and emailed me asking for an updated inventory. I responded via email with an updated inventory which was significantly more than what I originally quoted (girls, right?). Luis came in and told me that this was more than what they were expecting. I was confused because I had sent an updated inventory during their office hours. I called the front office and they admitted they completely missed my email and if they did read it they would've given me 3 guys. Instead, I got overcharged for being 30 minutes over what they anticipated which definitely wouldn't have happened if there was another guy. It was frustrating to say the least, they didn't even offer to compensate for THEIR mistake. *******UPDATE******* Donna from the front office gave me a call and wanted to hear about what had happened. I explained what happened to her and she took what I had to say to improve the business. She also gave me back the money I got overcharged for, which was very appreciated. Thanks Donna! read more

After having moved numerous times over the past few years, new city to new city, I've had my share of moving companies. Some good, some bad. But never had an amazing moving experience...until 2 Guys. As I moved to Chicago from Philadelphia, I only used them for an 'unload'. However, after having a pretty terrible experience with my moving company in Philly, I was leery in general of how things would go. I had no reason to be. My moving crew--Cas, Darren, and DJ--were phenomenal. They showed up well within 'expected arrival' time, they were incredibly courteous, they handled my goods (some of which showed up broken due to the previous movers being completely incompetent) with the utmost of care, and best part is, they were incredibly efficient. They slated 2.5 hours for the unload of my previously 900-square foot 1.5 bedroom, but were finished--with all large pieces placed specifically where I wanted them--within about 90 minutes. Saved me time and money (as I only had to pay for the 2-hr minimum, which I was HAPPY to do vs. the full 2.5 hours which I budgeted for). I've lived in, now, 9 cities, and I have never said this before, but I mean it: best moving company and crew I've ever employed. And no doubt, when I move again, I will definitely be calling 2 Guys and a Van and requesting Cas, Darren, and DJ. I'd have given them 6 stars if it was possible. read more

It's more like 4 guys and a big van! I've used Steve twice recently and both moves went very well. I had to move some stuff to a Public Storage site and other things to a house--and then from those locales into a new apartment, and they handled it all with care and good humor. There were no transportation fees or multiple location fees or other hidden fees that come with the larger companies. Steve communicated with me every step of the way, being very specific in terms of price, and in regards to the time of the move and what I might do in advance to ensure, for lack of a better phrase, a smooth move. I was introduced to all of the pleasant fellows who were moving me, and all of them seemed concerned with taking care of my things and getting me moved as quickly as possible. All of my things which included a very heavy, awkward couch, a queen-sized bed, a plasma tv and stand--all were treated with care and all are in excellent shape. I would highly recommend Steve and his service. Your things are precious to you, naturally, so you want someone trustworthy to help you---you should at the very least, include Steve in your list of companies to call when your scouting around. What I found was a partner in my move who was as concerned as I was in getting it done right. I will use him again and will recommend Steve to any of my friends who are moving. read more

I was VERY hesitant to go with this company because of some of the reviews. The move could not have gone better though...Tom and Jason (and two others) were really great, efficient, and careful. Everything you want for a move! They came in under their quoted amount and took less time than they stated. Above all else, I REALLY appreciated that these guys seemed exceptionally honest and NICE. They even told me they stopped for gas for 15 minutes so they didn't charge me for that time! In addition, they helped unpack and one of the guys (can't remember his name :( ) took the time to put all of my tools away--MUCH better than they had been! This wasn't adding to the time because I was already in the process of paying for the move. On top of that--when I tipped them (which is customary anyway), they were all genuinely appreciative and grateful. The original quotes I received from every other major mover in Chicago were above what these guys originally quoted me which is why I went with them (and they still came in under!). I am also certain though that they did a better job than anyone else could have done. So even if they're not the absolute lowest quote you receive, I would highly recommend going with them regardless! It will make moving (SURELY, one of life's more pleasurable and effortless activities) a LOT easier. read more

We had the best experience with 2 guys and a van today! First off, we were unable to move the day we first scheduled, and the company was able to reschedule for the very next day, which was a lifesaver! The morning of they gave us a courtesy call and text to let us know when they were 30 minutes away, then 15 minutes away. They were also sure to ask a best place to park in advance. Upon arrival, all the guys were very polite and introduced themselves and were sure to assess the inventory and confirm what was actually going out (we weren't moving everything at once). They worked so quickly and accommodated all of our items, even things that weren't packed the best. They were careful with our fragile items and wrapped things to make sure it was all protected. We even had large items to be taken to the trash, and they grabbed it all with no problem, and were sure to double check with us before throwing things away. They arrived at at our new place BEFORE us, and once we let them in, they carefully got everything in with no problem. With it being so hot and us having steep stairs, not once did anyone complain or just set things down in random places. Everyone moved efficiently and asked where everything was going. Very happy with the service! I got quotes from the top three movers in the Chicago area (based on Yelp reviews) and this one was the most affordable (by quite a bit). The movers (Ahmad, Jason and Yehor) were amazing! Showed up on time, very polite and courteous. were quick and efficient. They went over the estimated time by less than half an hour but said they would only charge me the estimated time. Since this wasn't their fault (for whatever reason my new building had them park a bit further from the door creating a longer walk to the elevator making the move time a bit longer) I said it wasn't an issue to pay over the estimate since it wasn't their fault. They refused and only charged me the estimated time. They put all the boxes and furniture exactly where I wanted it and even helped me with packing up a few of the larger items (like wrapping the bed, rug etc that I couldn't handle on my own). Even while I was signing the documents with Ahmad, Jason and Yehor were asking if there were any other boxes I wanted moved from room to room or furniture to move to make most of their time. No 'dilly dallying' which is something of a concern whenever you are paying by the hour but I definitely didn't run into that issue with these guys! Hopefully I won't be moving again soon, but if I do I will be a return customer! read more

I seriously dislike moving. If I could leave everything and repurchase all new things each time, I would. Luckily, this move was by far the easiest I've ever had. I had a 2 man team (Poncho and John) and they were the most efficient movers I've ever seen. I had quite a few fragile boxes...like most of the boxes were marked fragile, and they took so much care in protecting everything. John saw me struggling with a stripped screw head and he took it upon himself to get the screw out AND take the other shelves down. I didn't even ask him to. We went a little over time but honestly, it was my fault. I couldn't have asked for this move to go any better. They had me completely moved in 2.5 hrs. This was the first time where I did VERY little on the day of. Even the office was wonderful. I believe my interactions were with Donna? She was incredibly kind and patient. Answered all of my questions with ease. If you want a team that's on time, efficient, kind, and goes above and beyond, reach out to this business. Also, ask for John and Poncho because they are literally the BEST. Just a note: if you're moving this summer and hiring ANY company, have cold drinks available for your team (Gatorade, Water, etc.). I was very pleased with Ahmad and Noe, who did an excellent job, particularly in less than ideal circumstances: there was a larger moving van blocking the entrance, but they maneuvered so they were close by and were great about carting the stuff a little further. I was nervous about a couple antiques but they wrapped them in plastic and then in blankets and they aneuvered a small storage spacel well, and moved a couple of boxes already there without complaint. They were fast, friencly, polite and helpful. The woman who booked the move, Donna, was also excellent, and I appreciate her fitting me in on short notice. My only criticism is of the two hour minimum, since I live close by and they finished in 1 hour 2 minutes. $128 an hour but with a two hour minimum I paid $256, plus $128 for the van and travel time. (I live 20 minutes away.) $440 total. That said, I was told about the 2-hour minimum upfront and the total before booking. I just think if it takes 1 hour they could let you pay for 1 hour or however long it takes if under 2 hours. No criticsm of the movers themselves--so five stars! I gave them $30 each for the tip since they did a great job. And I would definitely hire 2 Guys and a Van again for moves of two hours or more. read more

I highly recommend these guys. I had to make a late booking for this move within a very specific time window, and they were only too happy to accommodate me and to give me a quick estimate. When I ended up nearly doubling the size of my move less than a week before the date, while still needing to fit within the same time window, they still managed to make it work, and their estimate was pretty much dead on. I also can't say enough about the professionalism and good humor of the three men (Victor, Samuel, and Mike) who came through on the morning of. Due to issues with my building, we ended up not having access to the freight elevator for nearly an hour of the window made available to us, and they still managed to make everything work. I moved my things into storage, and they did a great job wrapping everything for the move, and taking care with the more fragile items. Additionally, they were only too happy to play furniture Tetris when putting everything into my storage unit, and placing things so that my co-tenant can get access to his stuff first while I'm out of town. In short, great guys, great service, no hidden costs, and they were friendly to boot. They made the move much less stressful than it could have been. Thanks! read more

I scheduled a Sept. 1st afternoon move w/ 2 Guys and a Van a few weeks in advance. About a week before the move was supposed to take place, my landlords kind of screwed me, telling me that while they had originally said it was okay for us to move out that afternoon, they changed their minds and we would have to be out of our apartment before 1pm that day. Knowing the end of August/beginning of September is a HUGE moving time, I contacted 2 Guys, asking if them if there was any chance of me rescheduling for another day that week. I completely expected them to tell me that I was S.O.L., but instead Kenny called me back and said that while they were completely booked that entire week, they were willing to do an after-hours move for me on friday. When the day arrived, the team of movers were extremely polite and friendly. Even though our move was their third 3rd floor-to-3rd floor move that day, and even though because of my after-hours move, they didn't finish up their day until 12:30am, DJ, Johnny M., Richard and Anthony had smiles on their faces the whole time, were careful with our stuff, and were extremely efficient. I would highly recommend this company, as my experience seems to be the norm for their customers. read more

I recently moved into a High-rise condo building. This was my first time moving into a high rise, and didn't realize that I would need to reserve the service elevator for my move far in advance. I realized this on a Tuesday, when I was scheduled to move on a Monday. I had 2 Guys and a Van reserved for Monday morning. I called them on Tuesday informing them that the only time I could reserve the service elevator last minute was for that Friday between 12-3. They were incredibly accommodating, offering me a time slot from 11-2 so I could pack my house up and load the truck and get to my new apartment building between my reserved time frame. The movers arrived from a prior appointment and got straight to work. The team of Anthony, A.J., and Juan blanketed, shrink wrapped, and packed all my belongings into the truck swiftly and effectively. My new apartment was 2 miles away in Chicago from my other apartment, and everything was completed in only 2 hour and 30 minutes without any damage to my possessions. They even helped me disassemble my bed and reassemble the frame at my new apartment. They were extremely helpful and I would highly recommend 2 Guys and a Van, especially the team of Anthony, A.J., and Juan. read more

Moving is a stressful event under the best circumstances. This was the first time I was doing a city move...flying in from Connecticut for 2 days to move my daughter from one apartment to another before the start of school. I was anxious about every part. From start to finish, 2 Guys and a Van were phenomenal. Kenny set up my move and was kind, thorough and accommodating. He answered all of my questions and put my mind at ease. On move in day, Ahmad, Shawn and Joe showed up right when they said they would. All three men were friendly and helpful, which was great. However, when they got to work we were completely amazed. They were careful, but very fast and efficient and were undaunted by the obstacles that a city move presents. When we arrived at our new place, they worked quickly and carefully, unwrapping and taking all the trash away with them. This team took away all anxiety associated with moving and I was very grateful. I should mention that the price was reasonable and worth every penny. My daughter is a sophomore at DePaul. Hoping she will stay in this new apartment for a few years but if she moves again, I will be using 2 Guys and a Van. read more

Absolutely amazing experience with these movers. Just fantastic. We had a difficult 2nd floor apt with tight 90 degree turns at top and bottom with lots of stairs in between. The crew shows up 15 min early (7:45 am) and gets to work wrapping all of the furniture and any potentially breakable items. Constant communication prior to the day of the move. They had no problem at all navigating the difficult turns and numerous stairs and were able to get my quite large couch out no problem (which I had to resort to pushing, shoving, and grunting when getting it in. Didn't think I'd ever get it out!). Everything was moved with the utmost care into our new house and they even had everything finished faster than initially quoted which made the final cost cheaper than originally quoted! When moving the pieces into our house, they laid down a blanket upon the entrance way and took off their shoes so they wouldn't track in mud. Their prices are frankly the best in the area, didn't have ridiculous fees and the crew was all very nice, professional and quite friendly. Most definitely will use them again and have already recommended them to friends looking for movers. read more

A crew from 2 Guys and a Van successfully moved a truck full of our furniture from a 3rd floor condo into a single family house with no trouble. Jonathan, Diego and Jason showed up about 15m early, introduced themselves and were polite + friendly throughout. The furniture was wrapped in blankets and plastic to prevent damage on the way out/in (which also protects the walls!), so remember to plan a little time for that in your estimation (they don't simply haul everything out and chuck it in the truck). But the guys worked hard on a hot Saturday and completed the move efficiently within 15m of the time estimated. Our new neighbors were impressed how quickly they got everything into the house and allocated to the floors / rooms we asked for! We shopped around for quotes and felt the rate from 2 Guys and a Van was very reasonable for professional movers in Chicago, especially considering the standard of service. "Moving Made Simple" is their tagline and that's a good summary of our experience: Jonathan, Diego and Jason showed up on time, made the task seem simple, and got it done for the price we'd been quoted. I'd be happy to use them again. read more
