My family is downsizing and we needed help to move some heavy things around and transport. Ampol moving was recommended by a family member and we couldn't have been happier. This was a local move so it wasn't far but it was a BIG move. Many, many heavy items were moved with ease and things were disassembled and assembled once we moved into the new digs. We really appreciated how much care Ampol Movers specifically; Piotr, Kamil, Andres, Oleg and Vadym took in handling our precious heirlooms, china cabinet and piano (among many other things). They made sure to handle them with love and care. And!! They were even able to help a a family member clear out his workshop with many heavy tools and this is not easy feat, I mean, I'm just saying. They also quoted us 8 hours of help and within 8 hours, they were able to clear and move everything we wanted...fast. From the moment we talked to them, to getting a quote, to moving and then paying them....everything went smoothly. They brought their own equipment to help making the moving process easier which we loved to see. For example, the little ramps....work smarter, not harder, people!!! So the team was very nice and very personable and honestly very skilled to a man. However what you should know: they go fast and wrap nothing. That actually usually works out OK due to their extremely high skill level but sometimes it doesn't. A few items in storage were not properly protected due to their style of moving. They got rushed and didn't in all the bed properly leaving it very squeaky. Don't get me wrong here, these guys are top tier movers and they go fast with all the savings that entails, but some stuff got a bit marred. If you want your stuff properly cared for (best as can be expected) I might recommend MOOvers or another firm. We used Ampol Moving last week, and it was by far and away the best moving company we've ever used. First, scheduling with Marcin could not be a better experience. He was so helpful and flexible, even when we kept changing our moving day and time due to closing schedules. There are many movers with very good reviews, and I requested quotes from a few of them, but I ultimately chose Ampol because I liked the responses from Marcin to all the reviews, both positive and negative. Another home run by AmPol! We hired them 5 months ago to help us move out of our 5 bedroom, 2 story with a basement home. That was a BIG job perfectly done. (See my 5 star review of that earlier move.) We just hired them again to help us move everything that they moved into the basement for us 5 months ago upstairs to our newly renovated single story ranch home. Once again, they were on time, organized, meticulously careful and thoughtful in planning out the move. Newly refinished floors and freshly painted walls were all protected. Nothing was touched let alone damaged. The furniture all made it upstairs in perfect shape. Some really heavy pieces including a massive granite table. Not only that, but they helped us reinstall dining and kitchen table legs and hang a heavy flat screen TV on a wall bracket. That's above and beyond. Oh wait...there is more. We had a couple of wobbly dining room table legs. They fixed those with washers. I can't promise that they will do carpentry work for you too but they did it for me. Do not hesitate for a moment to hire these ultimate professionals. The bonus is that they are SO nice and fun to work with. We had some laughs along the way. Hired them to help me move from a 4 bedroom home to a 2 bedroom condo. I had concerns about everything from TVs to pictures to plants and Marcin was very reassuring and patient. Ampol Moving traveled three hours to help my sisters and me move furniture (including a piano). They arrived when they said they would and made quick work of heavy furniture on very steep stairs. They moved a piano into a split level home on a hill on the receiving end. They were unbelievably fast on that end as well. The cost was fair and the movers were wonderful. Hired company 5 years ago when I moved from Mundelein to Arlington Heights, and I could not have been happier. Hired company again this time when moving from Arlington Heights to Wheaton, and it was heartbreaking. So many boxes I have opened had broken items. The worst part is that the items can not be replaced. I even phoned the owner in tears because of this. He did not offer any compensation but did apologize. I will not hire the company again. I don't know if the movers were too rough loading or unloading, but it was a small move and this should not have happened. There are way too many items broken, including nicks on antique dressing table and dollhouse. read more

I had a difficult time finding a moving company that 1) would do an in-home move and 2) do so at a reasonable cost. I contacted Milos at Ampol and promptly received a very reasonable quote as well as a time commitment for the move that worked with my schedule. In the morning of moviing day his movers contacted to confirm the time, then arrived exactly as stated, and moved the item quickly and carefully. I was not terribly comfortable from the start because they don't have contracts or anything in writing. I ended up needing to write out what we'd agreed to and having Marcin reply to confirm. I went forward because they seemed to have the most legit reviews, were very responsive, and were about mid-range for what I'd priced. FYI, their trucks are misleading! It's not $65 /hour but rather $390 for the first 2 hours with 2 movers and the truck, and $65 thereafter. Plus a wrapping fee. Plus a fee per wardrobe box. They arrived and I was excited to get things moving, but quickly found many things of great concern. Here's a quick list: * They leaned their pallet-like dollys against the wall--wheels first. Dirty wheels on the wall! * They decided not to take the mattress out of the sleeper sofa and struggled tremendously to get it out. It was probably 15+ minutes on each end struggling with the couch, even after taking the door off the hinges. Prior movers had no problem with this. * They weren't moving my things with the greatest care, to the point that the pile of things I would be transporting grew from 2 items to 2 carloads. * When they took the glass top to my dining table out I asked if they would be packaging it. They told me no, because they place it between wardrobe boxes. I should have insisted, because what I was concerned about occurred: if there's debris on the boxes the movement of the truck will grind it against the surface. It should have been wrapped in blankets. * At one point, no one came back to my apartment for a solid 20 minutes when finally one of the movers explained that he and one of the other 2 were the owners and had to leave but the reinforcements had arrived. How. Flipping. Bizarre. It was 15 more minutes before they resumed. While I paid by the hour. The owners were responsive to my complaint about the table, and ultimately replaced it. I appreciate that they stood behind their work and made things right with the damage complaint. The experience was frustrating and time-consuming, and while my things were moved they were damaged and the move cost more than it should have. read more
