I had a really solid experience with this team. When booking they were responsive, accommodating, and clear. The estimate was really well done (and that is not always the case). The day of the move went so much smoother than I anticipated, and I've never seen movers hustle like these guys. True professionals. The only (small) issue was I was scheduled to have four movers, but only three showed up. I would have anticipated either an additional person would be found or an adjustment to the final bill but neither happened. But I would still recommend them, hands down. I have to applaud their professionalism. It really goes above and beyond any moving company I have ever worked with. I'm honestly wavering between a 3 and a 4 rating. I reached out and got several quotes, using the same metrics and H2H was by far the lowest. I know that the quote is rarely what I actually end up paying- and given what other companies were quoting, that's what I was prepared to pay. (I'd also like to note that I didn't go with them solely because they were the cheapest, but their response time was very quick and they were available for the date and time that I needed them). Well, I ended up paying double than the quote. They said I had a lot of stuff (which sure, but it was still just a one bedroom). They said they had to bring in extra guys and an extra van (which they didn't charge me for the van, which I appreciate). Loading up took nearly 3 hours but unloading in my new place was super quick. Before they left, they asked if I had everything. And I remember thinking, "Uh. How would I know?" But I nodded and said, "Looks good!" And when they called immediately after the move, I said it went very well. About two hours later, I noticed something was missing. I had a 40lb aloe plant, that I had raised from a little pup. I repotted it nearly every year for 6 years and she grew into this giant Little Shop of Horrors plant. During the windstorms of Chicago, she was the one thing that never blew off my balcony. And now she is gone. Before the move, they left me several voicemails and when I was able to pick up, it was an 8 minute spiel about their Covid protocols (they have masks and gloves but might not wear them because they're hot. Try not to be in the same room as the movers- which is hard when I have a 1BR). I think they called me once or maybe twice DURING the move to see how it was going and once immediately after the move to see how it went. After I realized my plant was missing, over two days, I sent a text, left a voicemail, called back a second time and was told they'd call me back, and then I finally got an apology after texting a second time. They were so impressive with the communication before the move but dropped off the earth when I lost something. H2H basically said, that they checked and the movers don't remember it (How do you not remember it?!) and that they don't usually move plants. I have searched my old place and my new place and it's not there. I wish I went back to my old place and checked the dumpster or the area where the truck was parked, because I remember them rolling her on a dolly away. It's not like she was "worth" a lot of money (although a new pot every year isn't cheap), but she was a plant I put a lot of hard work and care into, and she magically disappeared and I couldn't get a call back. I'm still unpacking, so I don't know if anything else is gone, but I do know I'm damn sad about losing that plant. read more

We had to move suddenly from Chicago to outside Pittsburgh due to a sick family member. We just had a baby so the thought of moving with a baby just left a pit at the bottom of my stomach. I had reached out to another moving company and they were about half the price of H2H fantastic I thought. Then my husband read this scam moving story on Reddit and that pit in my stomach came back. I asked them 4 days before our move when we'd theoretically get our stuff. No response. I was freaking out, but I reached out to H2h and Val helped me with everything. She was so nice and made something that could of went terribly wrong go incredibly smooth. Packers came on time and did an amazing job, movers came on time and also did an amazing job. My experience with H2H Movers was fantastic. First, they were able to accommodate my first choice of times even on a very busy Monday. My team of three movers was scheduled to start at 8am and I received a phone call at 8:01am that they were pulling in. The team lead gave me an 8 out of 10 for my packing, which I deserved because I didn't empty ALL my drawers. Despite my failings as a packer, they were efficient and professional and had me completely out of my studio in about an hour. As with any move, there's always a hiccup and for mine, it was another tenant at my destination building finishing a move during my elevator reservation. Despite the minor delay in getting started, the team rallied and got all of my things unloaded and safely into my new place. The day of estimate was 3.5 hours and the actual move time ended up being 2.5 hours, even with the delay. Everything arrived in the same condition it left. Not even a glass or dish damaged. My experience with H2H Movers was fantastic. Prices were reasonable and communication was top of the line. We've used H2H two times now and it's been so smooth and at great prices. They are very thorough in checking in all the way until the end of the move. The quotes are accurate and all the movers are very professional and efficient. They also helped us get parking permits from the city to make it seamless. Hands down the best movers I've ever worked with (besides Mayflower, who I don't think can be beat for interstate moves, but I was just moving locally). Due to an injury, I needed to work with a company that could also do 100% of my packing, and the service was an incredible value for how efficiently and carefully the friendly team of 4 worked. I have a lot of art, mirrors, and fragile items that I was worried about, and was impressed that nothing at all was damaged. It's also kind of embarrassing to be in the position of having to hire people to deal with all of the contents of your drawers, etc., but the team made me feel perfectly comfortable because they were so professional and respectful. I have the world's most annoying chihuahua (when there are strangers afoot), who I had secured, but he just growled rudely at them the whole time we were at the new home, and I thought it was so sweet that the team leader took the time to come over and try to make friends with the little guy to relax him. All around, the team was very caring, professional, clear, and easy to work with. The office schedulers are pretty difficult to understand, it was tough to get clear answers to questions I thought were pretty routine, and they didn't communicate to me that the first $500 of the bill needed to be provided in cash on the day of the move (which was ok, but it meant I had to leave the site to go get cash, and it also seemed pretty unnecessary if you're paying with Zelle, which is essentially an instant bank transfer that can't be reversed). I liked that they called to confirm my move, but both times they called, I had to remind them that I also scheduled packing service, because they asked me if my belongings were completely boxed and ready. But, any small communication difficulties with the office were completely neutralized by the amazing job the team did and how pleasant they were to work with. read more

I recently moved into a 1920's building in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago. The moving company I initially chose to move my belongings from Los Angeles were horrible and I would rather chew glass than use them again as the broke may irreplaceable antiques. This company also would not attempt to move a Restoration Hardware dresser I own that would not fit in my smaller than average elevator. Fast forward 2 days. After panicking and not knowing what to do as my very expensive 300lb dresser sat in the lobby of my building I began to call several moving companies (they all passed on the request). I left a message for H2H Moving and a very kind woman called me back. I explained the situation to her. Very quickly she put me at ease and asked me to send their photos of the staging location and the fire escape the workers would likely have to carry the dresser up. She scheduled a very competent team to be at my condo at 4pm the same day. The team devised a plan and executed it. My dresser is now sitting in my bedroom without a scratch. I hired H2H to move from Chicago to Michigan. It was the smoothest move I've ever seen. The price was much better than the other places I looked, and their online calculator was great at seeing how different things changed the price. 2 trucks and 6 guys showed up on time the day of the move, all super friendly. I hired H2H movers after a horrible experience with Golan's just 1 week prior. I had to abort the second leg of the project because Golan's team was NOT up to the task , late and a bunch of trash talkers. For the 2nd attempt at getting 2 storage lockers moved to a cheaper location, I tried H2H. I hired 2 trucks and 6men . Crew arrives and its only 5 men and 1 H2H moving truck. The other truck comes later and its a U haul truck. Why ? I can only assume the uhaul rental was baked into my quote. Then the crew arrives and they are not from H2H. They had on shirts from another company. They did a terrible job storing, packing and organizing the storage space. They were so haphazard they left a bookcase outside the storage space because they couldn't fit it back into the unit. I had to pay another person to pick up the bookcase they left outside the storage facility after shelling out $1642.00 for the H2H move. The guys did not use their brains and literally threw the stuff into the unit. $1642.00 for a 2 bedroom move was NOT CHEAP,but I thought I would get good workers. Wrong. They also claim to be a minority and women -owned business. I will check their credentials on the City website cause I doubt its run by a woman. read more

I requested a quote and the price was fine but they told me they couldn't move my TV, which is wild. Every other moving company was able to, so that was the first reason we didn't go with H2H. I told them that we went elsewhere, and they kept calling me with obviously AI-generated phone scripts and emailing me using AI-generated pictures and text. If you're going to ignore that I told you no and continue to spam me, at least put in the effort of a human writing all of it. Why should I have to endure AI generated spam just because I asked for a quote? I wouldn't recommend work with or even requesting a quote from these folks. We had a bad experience with this company, unlike many other reviewers here, and hopefully we are a rare exception to the rule. However, our experience was so bad that I couldn't avoid writing this review. At first, the communication was good, the scheduling went smooth. The pick up was great also. The crew who picked up our stuff was extremely efficient and wrapped everything really well. The trouble started after the pick up. The estimate delivery windows was 1-14 days. After 3 weeks had passed, our stuff was still at the initial pick up locations. Nobody at H2H could provide any explanation as to why our stuff hadn't even left the warehouse. We weren't provided with any real updates as to what was happening or when our stuff will even be on the way. Finally, we got an update that our stuff had left but then delivery windows kept changing, which is apparently normal. Finally the driver called, now we were 4 weeks! into waiting for our stuff. Sleeping on a blow up mattress for a month is not fun. So he called and said he will be there on Monday at 7am. Monday rolls around, he doesn't show up. I called him, he made up some excuse, said he will there Tuesday at 7am. Again doesn't show up. I call again. Says he will be there at 4pm that day. Yet again doesn't show up. This time when I call, he yells at me, telling me that he was busy with personal stuff and he will be there tonight. Then be disparate again and texted me at 9pm! that he can come now. At this point, we were pretty scared. Some guy who kept lying to us decided to show up at house at 9pm. We told him no way and he said he will then come next morning at 7. This time he actually showed up. This has now been over a month. They assembled everything pretty well, however, they left a bunch of our stuff in their truck and had to come back a few days later to bring it! I emailed H2H regarding this driver insanity. They called me the next day apologised and said they will compensate us for our troubles with the overall experience, in addition to the late fees for every day the delivery was late, which at that point was 7 business days. They sounded very sorry. They sent me a letter to sign, after which they promised the compensation of an additional $100. The letter very clearly stated that IF I ACCEPTED THE COMPENSATION, I COULD NOT LEGALLY WRITE A REVIEW ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED. I refused to sign this. Then they offered for give me $500 to sign this letter. AT THIS POINT IT BECAME ABUNDANTLY CLEAR THAT I WAS GETTING PAID TO KEEP QUITE AND NOT TO GET COMPENSATED FOR OUR TROUBLES. I refused to sign this and the offer to get compensate "for our troubles" disappeared. We only got compensate for the late days (actually, I haven't received the payment yet, so who knows about that). I apologise for such a lengthy review but this whole experience was just outrageous. I chose this company based on all the good reviews they had but it turns out that either my case was unique or that they are paying people off to not write about their bad experiences. I was moved by H2H on 9/15/22. I wasn't fully packed and I had forewarned the person I scheduled the appointment with that I was very nervous about moving; that I may not be fully packed. She informed me that of course they would help but did give me the heads up that it may cost more time wise per hour. I agreed because I knew I would need the help. The 4 guys got there at about 8am. On time. There was only 1 guy that spoke English. (We'll call him Shorty for the remainder of this review) The other 3 guys were taking my items down in lightening speed. But Shorty was extremely upset with me that I hadn't fully packed. I asked him to use my tape and wrapping plastic 1st before they used their own. Shorty ignored me completely. I told him that I had informed the management/scheduler that I would need this assistance in advance. I said OK, if they wanted to reschedule because they didn't have time to do it I wouldn't mind. He called management in what I think was Polish and he just began to pack my things. The other 3 guys were moving me out fast. The actual move was from 8:30a until 12:30p. At the end of them being almost done, Shorty says we're done. I start looking around and they'd left a lot of little boxes, my fridge and stove, a bakers rack and a small rolling small empty cart. They also left my wall mounts on the walls when specifically asked for them to take them down. Shorty catches an attitude and fusses at me and says, "Look, I'm taking the TVs down as a favor, we're not supposed to even do that!" As I'm calling the office to speak to the manager (they were really great with communicating) the guys had moved the fridge and left everything else there while I was on the phone! I didn't even know they'd left! When I explained they left my stove and my other things, she explained to me what Shorty was possibly thinking and why he was so rude... I wasn't happy with him AT ALL. She called me back to tell me they would be back to get the wall mounts and the stove with the cart. Although they'd left all the other things, I let that go because I was too tired to put up a fight (from not sleeping from the night before trying to finish packing) and I didn't want my things to come up missing because Shorty was peeved with me. They came back and got the stove, the cart and took the wall mounts down. When I told Shorty that he left a lot of things and that I appreciated the assistance, his EXACT words were, "We'll see just how much..." I said, "... see? Saying things like that will make me not want to give you anything extra!" And still, after that he still didn't take the other things I pointed out, he just left without saying anything. He'd better be happy my Mother was there at the new site. I wouldn't have given his butt a dime as a tip! I did have a dent in the side of my refrigerator when I checked later. (It was put in a closet so I didn't see it right after the move that day) Overall, Shorty did know how to pack well and they were fast movers. We got off to a very rocky start when the movers arrived an hour late and with only two movers for our three man job. This caused us to be an hour and 45 minutes late for our two hour elevator window at our new home. Luckily, building management and our new neighbors were patient and understanding. This would have been a one star review had it not been been for the two movers, Igor and Clark (I think that was his name). These two young men moved fast but still made sure everything was wrapped and moved properly. I was thoroughly impressed by their professionalism. They managed to get a sleeper sofa out of one apartment and into the new one that I would have bet was impossible. The team that helped me with my move today were true professionals and delivered the highest quality of service with a smile and sense of humor. I have a number of Large heavy pieces of furniture. The team not only delivered in less than the time they had originally quoted me, but also graciously assembled my furniture. Magically, they also came below their initial quoted price. I am writing an updated review for H2H, at first I had some problems with my move that were unresolved, but after having some back and forth emails with the owner of the company, I am happy to report that I had a closure that was agreeable to all parties. The whole story: H2H was a pleasure to set up an appointment with, the sales staff at the company were pleasant and punctual to respond with questions, and the movers arrived on time. I had a few frustrations upon arrival, as I paid for them to box up some things for me, but when they arrived, they said that they don't do that. Also, to make a long story short, there was some damage to a couple furniture items and also some scratches on the floor that my building ended up charging me to repair. I ended up filing a claim, and dealt with what I now know to be a 3rd party claims service that H2H hires. Honestly, they were a nightmare to deal with! They never respond to emails and phone calls always went to voice mail with no response. Their claims department is nearly non-existent. I submitted a claim over email and just simply NEVER heard back. I had to call them / write them at least 5 times throughout the next several months until I finally got a hold of someone who said my claim was DENIED. Where the light was shone over this whole situation is when the owner of the company stepped in and resolved all the matters. She was very responsive with me, addressed my issues, and seemed to genuinely care about my concerns. She really made lemonade out of lemons and made me feel better about her company as a whole. We reached an agreeable outcome overall. So the review here is based upon H2H as a company, and not necessarily the really terrible service that they hire to handle their claims. I would hope that the owner will consider other options in the future to handle the claims process... but overall my experience with H2H (and not the other service) was a good one. read more

I was driving home when I saw two H2H trucks on location, docked and parked inside a storage facility by my house at 5026 N Sheridan by Carmen! I use that storage facility, but forget that - I was so impressed by the park job of the trucks - backed up in the car port, aligned just perfectly so, I drove around the long block, pulled by the fire hydrant, car running, got out to take these artsy pictures (H2H is welcome to use as they please in the future), and took some I'm sharing with you all! I have not personally used this moving company, but thought to myself, anyone, let alone 2 drivers who can park big azz trucks like that with precision in such tight space have got to be as perfect as it gets in every aspect of the moving process. They broke nothing, took great care with everything including protecting the floors in the new place during the move.
