We opted for a 4 top table by the window. Nothing fancy. Exactly how I expected a local Chinese restaurant. Drinks were ordered immediately and we were given lunch menus by our friendly and knowledgeable server. There are several choices under $10.00. In this economy, that's a plus. I had the General Tso's chicken. It comes with rice, but I like lo-mein better and paid for the upgrade ($1.00). Lunch also comes with a spring roll and Rangoon with whatever dipping sauce you like. The portions were large, plenty of Tso sauce and it was amazing. For me, it was enough for 2 meals. Another plus. I have dinner tonight or lunch tomorrow. Most people will have a very hearty lunch. I happen to get 2. I have been stalking this restaurant for a year. The only reason that I didn't visit prior is no online ordering for pick up. The food here was so mediocre. Maybe I'm biased because I'm used to my mom's Chinese cooking at home but the food here was like any other Chinese restaurant. The sweet and sour fish was good though! The rolls were yummy but the quality of the fish just wasn't there, especially the salmon, it was on par with Fry's salmon from the sushi station. My favorite Chinese restaurant in the region. The duck is great even though not as good as you'd get from Los Angeles BBQ restaurants but it's the best locally. The duck at Great Wall is just a joke. Duck at lychee is served with crispy skin and that's exactly how it should be. We went to Great Wall for dinner once and ordered the duck and it came out a cold duck?!? We told the server and he just took it back to microwave it!? The duck later and put dried and stiff like someone else's left over dish! Lychee also has the best "water cooked beef." It's spicy beef but very authentic. I like so many dishes here sometimes I go a few times in a week. Price is also very reasonable. Parking is so easy and the plaza is easily accessible. Popped into Lychee for lunch on a work trip recently and I must say I was impressed. They offer very good and reasonable lunch specials, whether you are looking for sushi combos or Chinese plates. I got the spicy tuna and tuna nigiri combo. This was eight rolls and two nigiri for around $10. You can add miso soup for $1. Was it the best sushi I've ever had? I spent some time in Phoenix with my special someone after the holidays, and after I landed at the airport we picked up Lychee Kitchen for dinner. He had the Korean chicken and I had the chicken with green beans, and we got the chicken egg rolls to share. I am going to make a bold, perhaps controversial statement but these are the BEST chicken egg rolls I have ever had, probably not just in Phoenix but everywhere. They were SO good, in fact, that we got them two nights in a row (and my fella really liked the salmon nigiri!) and the chicken potstickers (steamed) were also delicious. Loved the chicken and green beans and the Korean chicken was really delicious too. I wasn't expecting the mushrooms, but I'm also not complaining. I returned home, but I was also told that the vegetarian egg rolls are very good too. I'll definitely be back, not just to spend time with my person, but also for the egg rolls!!
