The good the Corned Beef st Patrick's meal was cook very well the soda bread excellent Generous portions The BAD the drinks in a plastic container were filled with 2/3 ice and watered down soda could not taste if was a Posi soda or root beer, I exchanged it for a lemonade much the same I stirred the bottom were all the flavor seem to be and got small dose of flavor. This is one of the great hidden gems in Van Nuys. I started ordering from this location remotely during my LLC COVID because their BBQ platter is awesome and so is the carrot cake! Then they were one of the few restraints that was open for in person dining. There is plenty of outdoor seating, the staff is super friendly, and they are practicing safety guidelines. My co-worker and I ordered for delivery, so I'm not sure how the restaurant is in person. I ordered the Lulu's Cheeseburger with french fries, and my co-worker ordered the Chicken & Waffles. The bun on my burger was mushy, and my fries were soft and tasted under cooked. I'm not sure if this because my food was left out too long, but it was unappealing. My co-worker's chicken and waffle was underwhelming and dry. Our food was delivered in a decent amount of time, and the delivery person was friendly, but other than that, I'm not sure I would try this restaurant again. read more

You would think that during a pandemic they would be nice to everyone coming in and trying to spend some money regardless of the number of people eating or their race. Holy cow! Today was my 1st day ordering from this place, all bc they have broasted chicken, which is so much better than regular fried chicken. I mean the dinner the 8 piece chicken dinner was an amazing deal! $20 8 pieces, 2 sides, rolls! And everything tasted amazing! O and we also get a slice of chocolate cake! HOLY COW! This is my third time trying to give them the benefit of doubt. But they failed again. The sandwich ordered without bacon came with bacon. When asked to change, they only pulled out the bacon. One of the strip refused to come out and was discovered at the table. Well done salmon ordered was raw inside. Now come on... ! you are expected to better than that. Only one napkin until the end of dinner is not enough. Cajon chicken tenders were perfect, chicken grilled to perfection with just the right amount of Cajon kick. I've ordered food from Lulu's through Doordash many times in the past and every time, it was delightful to eat. So, for my mother's birthday, I figured I would treat her to a trip there. It's nearby, so it wasn't going to be too much of an issue, right? We get there and (ignoring the man that walked by wearing a MAGA hat) the girl that sat us at our booth was a lovely young lady. Extremely kind and sweet. Then we get our server; a woman that decided "good service" is speaking curtly to paying customers and snatching the menu out of a customer's hand when they're done ordering. And then we saw the decor. Listen. I get that it's an old establishment. I understand that it's got a theme. But here, in the year 2019, there needs to be a SERIOUS re-evaluation on what's on the walls. There was a painting on the wall that prominently displayed the Iron Cross (Google it if you don't know) and it made myself and my mother deeply uncomfortable. At that point, my mother and I were too uncomfortable to stay, so we got up and left before receiving our food. Then, as we were walking out, we saw another plaque. This one was for a society KNOWN for having............a certain ideology. It's frustrating. The food is GOOD. I WANT to eat there. But I don't want to give my money to a place that gives these sorts of vibes. You need to do a revamp on the decoration. Actually look at everything that's hanging up and think to yourself, "Hmm, what does this tell the customer?" Side note: My mother's been left deeply upset by the experience. Amazing. This is a tasty fresh food. I loved their steak and chicken plates. What made me write a review for this restaurant is that the delivery staff thanked me for supporting the business. That was very nice of him. They really know how to cook. We ordered for delivery and since then we became a customer weekly. Amazing that after delivery the food is hot and tasty. Due to the COVID-19, we only order for delivery and this is really good food in the valley area. Highly recommended. Once they made a mistake in order, and after a call, they refunded immediately, but it is all good about this restaurant and the attitude of the staff. The plate is clean and full of veggies. I had Ranch Burger with apple pie for desert. -Ranch Burger Has good volume with nice beef hamburger, but bun is too wet and I wanted to be little bit cooked or dry so that I can taste the ban. pickles are fresh and nice but dressing of thousand island was not enough that I need to add salt, pepper and ketch up to add flavor to it. French fries are hot and cooked well and their curry fries comes with BBQ sauce, unfortunately Curry fries was cooked but not all the way cooked so inside onion was cold or some rare when I bite into it so that was down side. -Apple Pie Traditional apple pie and tasted Really good. sweetness and volume is perfect for me. Over All I will come here to try when I have business meeting near here so that I can try more different dishes. I love this place! Great for Breakfast as I'm usually in the area in the morning but I recently came in for Dinner and Drinks. They have a full Bar and you can watch the Games (NHL Hockey and the NBA playoffs were on) . Good food, Good Drinks and the staff treats you like they have known you for years. I met one of the owners, Mike C. and his lovely wife. They are very personable and truly appreciate their customers. This was my first time here. My husband used to come here since he was younger and remembered their amazing blueberry pancakes (that they don't make the same). It has an old school feel, but the food is delicious and the portions are generous. I got the Build it yourself omelet and a Bloody Mary. The Bloody Mary was $3.99!!! (Weekend price). Excellent food, good service and reasonable prices! I often try to stop by this place when in the area. Everything on the menu is good, but my favorite is the broasted chicken. Broasted chicken is very hard to find because the preparation requires special equipment that very few restaurants are willing to invest in. It's basically pressure cooked fried chicken, but not at all greasy like most fried chicken. The menu here is quite extensive, and they also usually have a lot of different specials to choose from. read more

Based on the last delivery of a Caesar Salad with Chicken (very poor quality, old, brown and spoiled lettuce with flavorless boiled chicken that was placed on the flat stainless griddle for a minute and called "grilled chicken"--it wasn't), and a piece of "Big Apple Pie" that had raw pie crust and uncooked crumb topping (mushy & raw), I'd give them a 1 or 2-star rating. I'm only giving Lulu's a 3-star rating this time because I have had good food from them in the past (distant past, sadly--last two times haven't been good). The only thing I enjoyed this time was the sourdough bread & butter, which was the only thing I ate; I returned the salad & pie to the restaurant as they were not edible.
