Steak, eggs, and potato. With a side of toast and a iced coffee
Ely W.

I was in the mood for a steak at 8 o'clock in the morning. Found a spot I got the steak, eggs and potatoes breakfast with a side of toast. It was very good and had a great price as well. With that portion, I will be set for the rest of the day. The service was good. The waiter helped me and kept coming by to check up to see if everything was good very polite. It's mostly an old people spot, but from my experience, those tend to be the best spots.

My family's breakfast feast!

Time for a third update for this restaurant. My family and I have been coming here for over a decade. This restaurant has changed ownership throughout the years, but the service and quality of the food have remained the same. Let's start with the service. I want to give a special shout-out to Alan and Juaquin, the dynamic duo of this restaurant. They are both very friendly, super attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. They have made every visit welcoming and enjoyable. They are the perfect example of how every server should be. The service here is absolutely exceptional. This restaurant has a cozy, old-school, family-style diner vibe. The inside is always clean and organized. They also decorate the inside of the restaurant depending on the holiday (4th of July, Christmas, etc.). There's also plenty of parking available, which is a huge plus! The portions at this restaurant are pretty generous, you definitely get the most bang for your buck here. I've tried their pancakes, chorizo breakfast burrito, and chorizo chilaquiles. Their pancakes are always big and fluffy. They pair well with eggs and bacon. They are classic diner pancakes in the best way possible. Let's talk about the chorizo breakfast burrito. This is my favorite breakfast item on their menu. This burrito features chorizo, eggs, cheese, and well-cooked potatoes. It is also served with a side of chips and salsa. This burrito is pretty hefty, I can hardly finish it by myself. This restaurant uses some of the most flavorful chorizo in the entire Valley. Last but not least, my second-favorite item: the chorizo chilaquiles. Chilaquiles are a dish that consists of fried corn tortilla pieces simmered in a sauce and topped with various ingredients. The chilaquiles here are simmered in a flavorful red sauce, then topped with cheese, your choice of protein (if you choose one), and an egg. I always choose an over-hard egg and chorizo, as it's my favorite protein at this restaurant. The chilaquiles are also served with rice and beans. Overall, this restaurant is a staple for comfort-food breakfasts and brunches. The generous portions, exceptional service, and delicious meals will keep me coming back for years to come! Ratings: Pancakes - 4/5 Chorizo Breakfast Burrito - 5/5 Chorizo Chilaquiles - 5/5 Ambiance - 5/5 Service - 5/5

Horrible salty menudo
Yeyo E.

Today had the worst experience with my order of Menudo it was horrible too salty, I normally have the same mostly every weekend and never had a bad batch like today's I told the waiter about this issue he responded that the person that makes it put a lil too much of salt due to an 911 response call from a trespasser early in that morning and with all that was going on it probably freaked out the cook. Honestly l don't think that's a good answer but oh well..he did admit other guest also said the menudo was salty this bad batch of menudo should've been thrown away and never sold to me or 'others' especially people like me that have high blood pressure luckily I had taken my medication early that morning, perhaps they should had made a new batch at this note I should've not had been charged for it I didn't even finish it entirely due to too much salt. I don't think I will ever place another order of Menudo in the future to come. Shame on Kountry folks North Hills Ca, it dose make me upset so they receiving an F+ from me today.

Talk about a diamond in the rough, this place is a hidden job as you walk in your greeted with friendly people, friendly servers. The menu as well thought of it's an American diner with a twist. The coffee is great considering it is a coffee shop. The ambience suits the name of the place. I'm still waiting for my food which I'm going to do an additional review for I just wanted to give them credit now for were credit is due.

Super Special

Had breakfast at Kountry Folk because I was dropped off a tad early to pick up my car. First, the smiling, friendly welcome, which is truly appreciate at 6:30 in the morning. Many delicious choices on the menu. Had the Super Special. Great food. Everything was perfectly cooked. The pancakes were huge and fluffy. Service was excellent. Sat at the counter. It was quiet with a few local customers at the time. Will certainly be back the next time my car is in for a service. Note: surcharge for card use, which seems to be becoming the norm. Great experience. Friendly service. Delicious food. Good value.

Clean clean clean.... No dust or fingerprints on anything. Nothing was sticky or gross. Just clean.

This was my first time at Kountry Folks. Decided to try it out for breakfast when dropping off my car down the street for service. Upon walking in the place brought back a flood of memories of being a kid and taking long road trips across the country with my family in the station wagon. A good old fashion diner you would find on old Route 66. I was impressed with how clean the place was. There are little tchotchkes everywhere but everything is dust free and clean. The table is set with the usual diner fare of a sugar decanter, maple syrup, salt and pepper shakers, creamer, and ketchup.... Again everything was clean, full, and spotless. The service is EXCELLENT....!!! Everyone is friendly and genuinely happy. Everyone I encountered was smiling, laughing, and very talkative. They all appeared to actually want to be there and enjoyed their job. My server was so kind and friendly and went above and beyond to make sure my eggs were cooked exactly how I liked them. There was a gentleman walking around refreshing everybody's coffee, who was just laughing and friendly the whole time and I always had a huge smile on his face. The food was GREAT. Simple diner fair but you could tell it was prepared with pride. Eggs were cooked perfectly, bacon crispy, but not burnt or greasy, sausage perfect with the flavor of sage, and pancakes freshly made, and so fluffy. You would think they would lift off the plate. Delicious. The whole time I was eating the environment made me feel so happy and nostalgic that I had to leave this review. When the bill came, it was all handwritten and again that sparked so many memories. I will definitely come back to Kountry Folks. Just a great experience.

Breakfast burrito

It's hard to find a solid breakfast burrito at 6am so when I find one I make sure everyone knows. Burrito had bacon and sausage with a good amount of soft, well cooked potatoes and the ingredients were blended together. Red salsa was hot, and the coffee is good. Service is prompt and pleasant.

Good southern breakfast spot! If you are hungry this is the place you need to be. Prices were not bad for the amount of food you receive. The omelette was scrumptious full of flavor and ingredients as well as the flapjacks. They were so big you can't even call them pancakes, they were fit for a lumberjack. The waitress was very friendly and comforting to talk with. This place is an old school diner style so it's not easy on the eyes but if you're there for the food the aesthetics shouldn't matter.

Taha A.

Great spot for breakfast and lunch! The scrambled eggs and home fries were super tasty, I also tried the sandwich with fries fresh, flavorful, and filling. Friendly service and chill vibes. Definitely coming back!

We were genuinely excited to find a BBQ spot we enjoyed, and for a while, we were happy customers. Unfortunately, over time, our experience became increasingly disappointing, particularly when it came to the size and consistency of the ribs. The first couple of times we ordered, the ribs looked like a standard, reasonable portion. But on our later visits, we noticed that the ribs appeared noticeably smaller. It wasn't just a one-time observation; after seeing the difference several times, we decided to call and ask about it. We weren't looking for anything unreasonable, we simply wanted an explanation and some consistency in what we were paying for. We were told, "Sorry, we'll have our manager get back to you." We appreciated that someone would supposedly follow up, so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. It has now been a couple of months, and we have never received a call, email, or any kind of follow-up. That part is honestly just as disappointing as the portion issue. Bludso's prices are high, and when you're paying premium prices for BBQ, you expect the quality and portions to be consistent. We understand that food costs, labor, and operating a restaurant are expensive, we're not expecting bargain prices. But when a restaurant charges what Bludso's charges, customers have every right to expect that the portions will be consistent and that legitimate concerns will be taken seriously. In a time when the cost of everything continues to rise and people have to think carefully about where they spend their money, spending more at a restaurant should come with the expectation of getting a quality experience. If we're willing to pay higher prices, we expect the food and customer service to reflect that. What really sealed the deal for us was that we actually tried to address the issue directly. We didn't immediately leave a negative review or complain online. We called the restaurant, explained our concern, and gave them an opportunity to respond. Unfortunately, the fact that nobody ever bothered to follow up after promising that a manager would contact us left us feeling like our business and feedback simply weren't important. We enjoyed Bludso's when we first discovered it, which makes this even more disappointing. But there are plenty of BBQ options out there, and at these prices, we don't feel there's a reason to continue spending our money somewhere that doesn't provide consistency or follow through with its customers. We tried. We gave them multiple chances. We reached out and gave them an opportunity to make it right. Unfortunately, we've moved on. No more Bludso's for us.

For those of you who live in the SFV, you know that good breakfast spots are hard to come by and if you do know any, you've already been there a thousand times. While searching for something new, I stumbled across this spot! My boyfriend and I love old diners like these so we decided to give it a try. I won't lie to you, pulling up and seeing it was at a Galpin dealership kind of threw us off lol But OMG this place was amazing! Right off the bat, the ambiance was so nice, like stepping into a time machine and being back in the 60s. We were greeted so warmly and decided to sit at the bar to get the full experience. Upon looking at the menu, they had more than just breakfast. They had burgers, sandwiches, melts, steaks and more! GET IT AT GALPIN Now, the chefs. Just by looking at them through the pass, I knew I was about to have the greatest food I've ever tasted.. I ordered the griddle combo with french toast, my boyfriend ordered the huevos rancheros and we got a pastrami melt to share, and it was life changing. The butter just melted on the french toast paired with the warm syrup on the side... o m g I tried the orange juice and thought "that is freshly squeezed" and look up to find a machine squeezing fresh oranges, amazing. Our server Sesy was so attentive and even gave us a slice of homemade banana cream pie for my boyfriend's birthday! (all their pies are homemade btw) Can't even be mad at the prices cause I got exactly what I paid for, worth every penny! This is definitely a new favorite spot we'll be coming to a thousand more times :) 10/10 Food 10/10 Service GET IT AT GALPIN

I ended up purchasing a car from Galpin last year, so I've had even more opportunities to stop by Horseless Carriage over the past year, and it's still just as good as I remember. Whether I'm there for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the food is always fresh, crisp, and full of flavor. You can tell there's a real standard for the food here, and I think it's far above what you normally expect from a restaurant connected to a dealership. Geovanni is also fantastic, especially when it comes to restaurant standards and catering. He's incredibly detailed and makes sure everything is taken care of, and his staff is always so friendly and welcoming. Everyone seems to genuinely enjoy being there, and you can tell. I also love that whenever I'm here, I see so many familiar faces. There are clearly a ton of regulars, and the restaurant is busy all the time. To me, that says a lot more than anything else could. People keep coming back because of the relationships they've built with the staff and the consistency of the experience. After coming here for more than 20 years, I can honestly say the quality is still there. You can tell the family takes a lot of pride in this restaurant, and it shows. It's one of those places where you know you're going to get a good meal every time, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Cheers to consistency!

One in Northridge and the other in Santa Clarita. Met up with a friend on the 15th of this month at exactly 12:50pm. On weekdays they close at 2pm and at 3pm on weekends. Since I heard so much about this place, we both wanted to give this lovely, cute, cozy, quaint restaurant a try. I am glad that we did. It had some nice decor all around including their gender neutral restroom. We were nicely welcomed by Myra with a pretty smile & she gave us an option to sit inside or outside. Decided to sit outside even though it was very windy. Took less than 5 minutes for our server by the name of Meliza to come and take our order. I am glad to have asked her the spelling of her name. Most of them spell it as Melissa. She was a very pleasant young lady and had a good attitude. Also very helpful. She checked on us a few times during our visit. We ordered few things from their extensive menu options. Neither one of us had tried Chilaquiles. I guess there is a 1st time for everything. The base was crunchy, semi thick corn chips topped with: over medium eggs, green tomatilla, red raw onions, cilantro, Queso Fresco cheese, sour cream, garnished with red redish add chicken for extra $4.99. We asked for the green sauce instead of red. Less spicy. We also ordered their Victory Sandwich that came with: two scrambled eggs, avocado, goat cheese, tomato, and hash brown on a nice toasted wheat bun. We were very hungry as you can tell:-))) Last but not least, we got their Avocado Toast nicely toasted on Sourdough bread, two poached eggs, avocado spread, Arugula salad, & micro greens (garnished with red radish). For drinks, since they didn't have Horchata, I opted for a single shot decaf Spice Latte with Oat milk. We both stayed with water. Latte along with the food was very delicious, fresh, made to PERFECTION! I have to confess that the Chilaquiles stole the show. It was THAT GOOD!! The food came out quick and fast. Parking is shared with two other businesses. A nail salon and a dental clinic. Thank you Myra, Meliza, management and Garcia Brothers. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Baked beans: Honestly, it's pretty hard to mess up baked beans. Very standard, traditional baked beans, good. Potato wedges: 8/10 Also kind of hard to mess up potato wedges unless they're undercooked or overcooked. They were seasoned too. So pretty standard tasting Mac & cheese: 3/10 I'm from the South, so there's just a certain baseline I reference when it comes to mac & cheese, and unfortunately this wasn't it for me. I would never order the mac again. Cornbread: 10/10 Southern girl approved!!! Collard greens: 4/10 Not a slither of seasoning but I got them together myself. Fish: The fish is actually why I ordered in the first place because I was craving some fried catfish. On Uber Eats, it just said "fish of the day," and I assumed it was catfish. It was, in fact, NOT catfish. I'm not sure what type of fish it was, but it tasted more prepackaged like something you would get out of the frozen section at the grocery store vs. freshly prepared, so I was a little bummed about that. It didn't taste bad, but I probably wouldn't order it again. I was also extremely disappointed by the portion sizes of the sides. They are VERY small, especially considering the prices. I would definitely keep that in mind before ordering extra or individual sides. I still gave them 5 stars because those ribs were so damn good that they made up for everything else. I'd absolutely order the ribs again!

Big Pops is accommodating to dine in and take out but I will say it can get quite warm in there as you are eating which for me it was they do however have two tower fans for the guests when it gets hot but it was just me in there and so it was off but still I run hot and I was starting to warm up while eating. With that being said I think the service for what is worth wasn't too bad. This place is nice and decorated and very quiet other than the radio playing in the back ground for the cooks. There are a few tables inside that can seat about maybe 10-12 max and they do have a drink fridge for you to choose what drinks to get. The person helping me out was very quiet didn't ask me if it was my first time or anything like that maybe just the hello and such but he was polite but just not welcoming I suppose. Since it was my first time I didn't know what to get and I think it's my fault for sure for not asking more and engaging on what I should get because I only asked like one question about the Tri tip plate and stuff but I ended up getting that and I will say it's quite a bit of food but at the same time it can get pricey I paid about & $29 for the plate with tip ended up being $34 in total. It's about what you would expect from a barbecue place. So with the plate or any plate as show on the menu, you do get a small side of fries, a piece of corn bread and a small side. The small sides are about $2.99 for and as shown in my picture they are that small like a tiny ramekin like double or triple the size of what you get from a sample from Costco. So the fries are fries nothing special about them but they were fried well and it had a nice crisp outside when you bite into it and the inside was cooked right. The corn bread was spectacular in my opinion! It was moist and flavorful with every bite! I used it to dip into my Tri tip plate because of the sauce and it was great! The Mac and cheese I will say was ok. Barely any flavor and it honestly reminded me of getting Mac and cheese from the grocery store hot deli like Ralph's and Vons because the consistency and texture of it really felt like it was made the same way and flavor wise as well because there as no flavor now with that being said I will say maybe my tastebuds were already saturated and nuked by the sauce from the Tri tip (which I'll get to a moment) and I couldn't appreciate the Mac and cheese as well or tell if it was salted or peppered or something. But to me it was pretty bland Mac and cheese like I wouldn't pay for it as my side. Now I will say that's the only side I got I didn't buy the others which I regret because maybe those sides were the ones you should be eating like the baked beans or collard greens which is the more essential sides of any barbecue eatery. So definitely the Mac and cheese was a miss for me and next time I'll get the other sides instead. Now the main course which is the Tri tip. I loved the Tri tip it was nice and tender and you get about 10 ounces and in the photo I have it's a lot! But I will say this, there are people who love wet barbecue and dry barbecue I'm a person who loves the dry barbecue as in only into dry rub and stuff I dont mind saucy meat but an over abundance of sauce just ruins it for me and this was the case for my Tri tip. In my photo you can definitely see that it is heavily drenched in their barbecue sauce which by the way is very flavorful no doubt about it! But it was so sweet and so saucy also it wasnt spicy as I had the option to choose from regular or spicy but there was no indication of spiciness at all. Like maybe I'm just used to spicy food but whatever is meant to make that spicy didn't really shine out and that was a big disappointment. I'm not really into sweet foods which most barbecue sauces are sweet or very vinegary based. This is very sweet and very acidic like my mouth was nuked. But the Tri tip itself was amazing! But my plate had too much sauce and it was too sweet and vinegary like I could swim in the sauce is how saucy it was. No matter how I felt about my saucy Tri tips that's how you're supposed to eat it as is because that's how they made it and it would be a disservice to do so differently. With that being said over all the food was great except for the bland Mac and cheese and heavily sweetened barbecue sauce all over my Tri tip other than that it was great.. Again if you're not into eating super saucy barbecue or you're a dry rub type of barbecue eater like me then I would warn you again that it gets saucy here hahaha at least for my plate. I'm still gonna come back because I'd like to try their other stuff and also it's a local business and helping support them and any other local business is great! So for me it's 4 stars out of 5! Thank you again! :)
