We stopped by Victory Caffe around 8am and were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't too busy. After ordering, our food came out pretty quickly, and the staff was friendly throughout our visit. We ordered the Supreme Waffle, House Breakfast, and a horchata latte. The Supreme Waffle is definitely on the sweeter end of the breakfast spectrum. That said, the waffle itself was light and fluffy, though not particularly crispy, and was still an overall solid waffle. The House Breakfast was solid as well. The standout was easily the bacon, which was crispy, flavorful, and cooked just right. While the breakfast itself wasn't anything particularly unique, I think that's a testament to doing the basics really well with quality ingredients. The horchata latte also leaned on the sweeter side. You'll probably be waking up just as much from the sugar as the caffeine, but if you enjoy sweeter coffee drinks, it's worth trying. Overall, Victory Caffe is a solid breakfast spot that executes the classics well. The ingredients tasted fresh, the portions were satisfying, the prices were very reasonable, and the service was friendly. I'm so disappointed in this place and I will never be coming here again because of some dumb policy they have, if you place an order for pick up, you have to get back in line to ask for your food, even if you place the order along time ago, and if your food is ready and sitting on the counter. I put a pick up order on Uber eats and I gave them lots of time to make it, I went about 10 minutes after my pick up delivery time so that I can make a fast pick up on my way to work, there was a huge line When I got inside and when the cashier was done taking someone's order, I just said hi I'm here to pick up my order, and he scored me in front of all of the customers said that I had to get in the back of the line until I talk to him to pick up an order that was already READY! I'm never coming here again, the food isn't worth it to have to wait in line to pick up some thing that I already ordered, that's the point of ordering!!! This is the dumbest policy since this place is notorious for being slow! This guy is the worst at his job, because he actually kept stalling the line by telling me to get in the back of the line, when it would've been faster to ask me my name and just pass me the bag. He obviously can't multitask, and that's not a restaurant that I want to go to.! My husband and my friend both got the caramel latte, my husband thought it was too milky and not strong enough. For food, I had the chicken quesadillas and really enjoyed them. My husband ordered the supreme waffle, it was very good overall, though the strawberries weren't ripe. My friend tried the chicken pesto sandwich and said it was good but could've used more chicken. Wow, I met the owner Efrain today after hearing so many good things from my daughter about him. Happy b-day to your daughter! Thanks so much for the extremely delicious Supreme waffle prepared by Nacho. We prepared to take it home, but we totally destroyed it in about 5 minutes. It was so light and full of flavor with Fresh Strawberry, Banana and Blueberries, Vanilla Ice cream and Nutella on top. Nothing we've ever experienced before. This is truly a gem!! I've passed this eatery many times and had no idea it existed. Thanks to a great friend, I now know of its existence....kudos to having other foodie friends. Initially passing, my first initial thought was "there's no parking"... I almost let that deter me. Inside is very small and quaint exactly opposite of their menu. It's very extensive and healthy as well. There's something on the menu for everyone. Service was great...you order at the counter and the food promptly comes to your table. Absolutely 5 stars! They really seem to care here. You order at the counter, pay, and they bring your food to your table. It's easy to forget to tip if you are paying cash, get change. They brought our food and my French toast was so nicely plated that I almost didn't want to eat it! It was delicious! My friend also loved her sandwich. Service was great, super friendly. My friend said she had already been there twice that week. I have a feeling it will be our new spot. The coffee was also really good. The guy was so sweet. This place is a bit out of the way for me but I wanted a breakfast burrito and I was in the area. So I ordered a breakfast burrito. Same price whether it has a protein or not so we got one with bacon to split. For about $11 and some change it wasn't that big but it was flavorful. Located in a small strip mall on Vanowen and Kester, this cafe serves up some of the best coffee, breakfast and sandwiches. I highly recommend one of the most popular items, the Supreme Waffle, topped with bananas, berries, vanilla ice cream map and Nutella. A random stop in and it's still super solid. This visit was a bit later in the day. It was a little quieter and easy to find parking. I have been here numerous times and it's always a win. This visit was no exception. I decided to order one of my favorite go-to's here, which is the lox sandwich on a bagel. Today's bagel was the softest I've ever had from here. Portion size is big so as per usual, I had leftovers. Parking is usually the toughest part, but for an early afternoon visit, it was easy. Okay so admittedly; I think I came in on an off day/morning. I came w my vegetarian friend who loves this place and is a regular but we kept having issues during our breakfast here. This place is located in a small plaza with limited parking though there is street parking available if you are willing to potentially walk a bit. My friend and I both ordered the breakfast burrito and she got a lavender latte and here is where the trouble started. - her lavender latte was made without any coffee (yes I am serious), it was lavender syrup with milk. she asked for it to be remade and it was remade - my breakfast burrito took nearly 30 minutes to come out and we had to request it to come out even though other customers who arrived later than me, including 20 mins after me were able to get their food first??? - my breakfast burrito also did not come w any utensils or napkins to the table (and they are not lying out) so we had to request this Breakfast burrito 4/5, this was good! So glad we stopped at Victory Caffe for a quick breakfast. We ordered 2 egg sandwiches- it comes with tomatoes, onion, avocado slices and a few other toppings. They use a delicious, fresh ciabatta bread. It was a really great option for a slightly healthier breakfast. They have tons of smoothie and açaí options, but I ordered an oat milk coffee and enjoyed that too. My spouse told me about a hidden gem in a strip mall on Vanowen Blvd, so I took a friend there for lunch. The place is small and very clean, with a few tables, and has a cozy, inviting feel. Above the counter is a large menu with lots of meal options, including many vegan choices. We placed our order through the window, and a friendly young lady took care of us, being very accommodating with any small changes. After receiving our number, we sat down and waited for our food to arrive. My friend ordered scrambled eggs with roasted potatoes (delicious), tomatoes, and a side of fruit, which was beautifully plated, as you can see in the photo. I had soft scrambled eggs with bacon, those amazing roasted potatoes, and a sausage that was huge and incredibly flavorful--almost like a Bratwurst. It was absolutely fantastic. However, my friend, in her pre-boomer years, needed to use the restroom. Unfortunately, they don't have a restroom for customers, just so you know. But they kindly made an exception and allowed her to use the facilities because she's a senior, which we really appreciated. The only downside, and it bothered both of us very much, was the behavior of a group that came in. It wasn't busy--just us and another table with two people--when two women with four kids arrived. They seemed to be ordering something to go but sat at the table right next to us. Their kids went completely wild, screaming, running around, and jumping on the chairs. The women didn't seem to care at all. The noise was so overwhelming that we couldn't even have a conversation. At one point, my friend and I had to speak up and ask the women to please control their kids so we could enjoy our meal and hear each other talking. We were both hoping that someone from the restaurant staff would step in to address it, as it shouldn't have been up to us to do so. First let me tell you that it is directly across from the DMV in the same shopping mall as Little Cesars. It's hard to spot as you are driving by. The place is small but you can eat outside or do takeout. It is small but worth the hassle. Depending on staffing orders can take a Minute. But small businesses are not fast food restaurants. This place has a huge vegan selection and plenty of healthy options (which I ADORE since I'm on a diet). My partner ordered a mango smoothie, and I went with the house breakfast. It came loaded with scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, seasoned tomato, and house potatoes, plus sourdough toast and ketchup. Just look at the picture, it was divine. The presentation was beautiful and the food was delicious. I really appreciated how fresh and high quality the ingredients were. Nothing was greasy, which is usually my biggest complaint, and I loved that I could actually taste every element. The pumpkin spice latte was tasty, a bit sweet at first, but perfect once mixed. The mango smoothie was good, but the dragon berry smoothie my boyfriend ordered was even better. I loved it. The prices are very fair for the quality, flavor, and portion sizes.
