Cancelled 15 minutes after ordering and saying in progress - no phone call to let me know the issue.

This former Grain Cafe - Van Nuys locations is the new and latest. I Love U Brunch is very much all in the name, however for this plant-based foodie their small limited vegan menu consist of a "Chicken" Sandwich, Burrito and Tacos. None of which are labeled on receipts, especially via third party apps. They've cancelled one of my take out orders as well as deliver for me and always seem to be out or low when in person... I'm not sure what the deal is here, but as far as I can tell it's very lackluster. It looks nearly exactly the same on the outside as when it was Grain with new signage and some nice additions to the inside (vibrant colors) though it could be a cousin of it's previous incarnation off Gilmore Street/Van Nuys Blvd. Not ideal for large groups as most tables and chairs, including the patio are limited to 2 to 4 people. I will say that some of the sides are vegan friendly as well as the avocado toast (without egg) and veggie wrap when you omit the dairy/cheese. Ideal for the average everyday brunch/breakfast lunch goer for sure. Easy small lot parking or local street parking. Load of beverages and dairy based smoothies which I believe can be made vegan since they do offer both almond and oat milk for their lattes. The service isn't the best, very off beat in a off way so I'm not sure I'll give them any more chances.

One of my favorite places for brunch!! The food is delicious and it's always fresh. The services is fast and they are all so kind! It is small and but they always make it work. There's plenty of street parking.

Had brunch with family on a beautiful Summer Sunday. I ordered the Birria Taco; siblings ordered chicken salad and Steak and eggs. Tasty and satisfying. Steak was fresh and tasted great! Wait staff was friendly and helped us with suggested items to try. Outside tables available; we ate outside. Everyone had a smile on their faces as they walked out of restaurant. Wonderful local brunch spot for all! We shall return. Cheers!~

    Avocado toast. Not even toasted

I ordered over the phone and they told me 10 min. I arrive 15 minutes later only to be told to wait 15 more minutes. The avocado toast, isn't even toasted. The quality of the food is really bad. It's not even warm. And to top it off, it was over $50 for 3 items that were subpar. Really disappointed.

I was walking and saw this place on the corner of my eye. It's kind of hidden from the main street. But it's definitely a hidden gem. Very clean inside. The girl working is very nice. And the food is excellent. I love my dish. They play music inside. It's a nice vibe. I would definitely come back. 5 stars

Really amazing Chilaquiles best in the area if I'm being honest, it had really great flavor and the presentation was really beautiful.

The service here was great, however we ordered Arugala Salad with caramelized walnuts and none were in this salad . We brought it to the attention of the cook, they sent over granola as a supplement?!?!? We ordered a specialty drink which was supposed to have cucumber, apple, pineapple... they had informed us there was no cucumber Unfortunately all the rave reviews we saw on TikTok were a bust for us. The club sandwich was pretty ok .... That I will give them. Unique flavor .

First time trying out I Love U Brunch, nice and clean breakfast spot, I was greeted by Vivian she was really nice and welcoming. I had the El Campeón it comes with 3 flavors of chilaquiles red, green and mole along with a 6oz New York steak strip medium rare and it was delicious, to drink I had a vanilla Latte really really good. I will definitely be coming back to try out more items in the future. Gracais a todos at I Love U Brunch for the delicious breakfast.

The food was absolutely fire! It was delicious! Cant wait to go back. It's a small hole in the wall. The food was fresh and very flavorful! I highly recommend it! We ordered the molcajete mar y tierra, quesa birria and the chile relleno!

The restaurant is located behind Sketchers and the parking lot is very tight. I recommend street parking, as the spaces are quite narrow. Upon arrival, we were immediately seated at a booth and our order was taken promptly. I ordered the cafe de olla, which could have used a bit more depth of flavor, as it tasted closer to regular coffee, but it was still enjoyable. My mom ordered a margarita and my uncle had the carrot orange juice. The juice was made fresh in front of us and tasted delicious. The margarita was perfect, strong and definitely did the trick. They even lit it on fire, which was a fun touch. The food was good overall, though slightly on the salty side. I ordered the molcajete with chorizo and cecina, which was flavorful and came with a very tasty salsa. Service was attentive and quick throughout our visit. Next time, I plan on trying the pancakes or waffles, so I will definitely be back.

Was told about this place from a friend. Do yourself a favor and try this place! It's not in the best of areas, parking it tight, there's metered street parking also. It's a small restaurant, but cozy, clean, brightly decorated, nice music. Was greeted very warmly as we walked in. Service was great. The staff took their time answering any and all our questions. They serve delicious Oaxacan food. They have basic breakfast if you want, pancakes etc. I got the Oaxacan plate, chicken smothered in fresh mole sauce. Chicken was juicy, mole rich, tasty with perfect amount of heat. Rice and beans from scratch with hand made tortillas. Wife hade Oaxacan enchiladas, stuffed with Oaxacan cheese, and mole sauce. We can't wait to go back and try other dishes. I had a Jamaica and my wife had a cafe de ola and a moca coffee which she raved about. They use real good Mexican chocolate. Prices are average with today's restaurant. They also make smoothies. So good to find a delicious family run restaurant, that's clean , food made from scratch, and happy people working there. We will become regulars for sure! Please check them out.

Date: May 11, 2025 It's Mother's Day and I have no idea what I wanted but stumbled across this spot scrolling down grub hub. So decided to indulge since it's my special day right? Ordered two classic burritos which has the choice of steak or chicken, salsa, rice, guacamole, and pico de gallo. I got one steak and one chicken. They were both pretty good. Only thing that marked the stars down was that there was no pico de gallo, and it had beans. (I hate beans but since the description didn't mention, I didn't remove it). Also only had like a teaspoon of guac which was kind of sad. . It was quickly made which was nice because my order came way earlier than expected. Came with some chips too which was nice. Sadly some were pretty stale but the ones that weren't were really good! Perfectly salted and fried. Overall it was a nice first try. The menu looks good too so hope to try it in stores next time!

Ordering is now done through your phone, or, if you're like me and prefer human interaction, you can walk up to the counter and place your order there. Unfortunately, the traditional waiter-service (although there was a bottle of water on the table) experience is gone, which took away some of the charm that restaurants used to offer. For me, that was a bit of a disappointment. Ironically, I still found myself tipping the cashier. As for the food, there were some highlights. My wife's avocado toast was excellent--fresh, flavorful, and well prepared. My chilaquiles were tasty as well, but not without issues. The eggs were cooked over easy and were much runnier than I would have preferred, and the chicken portion was surprisingly sparse. Overall, the meal was good, but the experience felt a little less personal than it used to. The food still has its moments, but I have to admit, I liked the old Blu Jam better.

Of course, Studio City has a village full of good restaurant choices, but since I was already a fan of their other location on the Westside, The Six on Pico Blvd., I decided to give this one a try. So Saturday brunch it was! We arrived earlier to avoid crowds at 10:45, and we had the place all to ourselves until 11:15. Reservations were made via Yelp, but we obviously didn't need them. I was a bit surprised, but small groups eventually trickled in slowly. ** THE CHOW ** My brunch date ordered a California omelet, made with brie, red bell, caramelized onions, and topped with half an avocado. The breakfast potatoes on the side were very yummy and the omelet was tasty too. Did I mention I'm a glutton for brunch? Well, I decided to eat one like one. And the Knife & Fork Chicken + Waffles was just right for my appetite. It satisfied the fried chicken cravings I had racked up over an entire week. I liked that the chicken was boneless, skinless, buttermilk-battered, and crispy. The fancy "red devil gravy" is basically a watery Tapatio for dunking or (if you're like me) for drowning your chicken in heat. Don't worry, they've got Cholula as well. Also, I love the effort in naming this menu item. However, I was a bit disappointed to find out that the jalapeño rosemary syrup on the online menu was only regular maple syrup IRL. Overall, the waffles are quite dense so it adds a good balance of hot 'n' sweet. ** THE SERVICE ** Servers at The Six were attentive. Food was delivered quickly. There were frequent check-ins with various staff members at each of the tables. The wait staff worked well together, covering each other's duties -- that was nice to see. ** THE VIBE ** There are lots of Instagram-worthy backdrops and charming little signs strewn around the restaurant. The decor and vibe give a nod to the "Society of Six" artists from the 1920s Prohibition era, who lived together in a cabin in Northern California that they dubbed the "Chow House", where they inspired each other in creating art. The reclaimed wood planks and cast iron skillets are used as plates on several menu items as a subtle accent and cozy, cabin vibe. I imagine twinkle lights add to the effect during the evening time. Next time I want to shovel brunch into my pie hole like a bottomless mimosa glass, I'll come back for the Apple Pie French Toast. That's with a side of bacon (not the bacon inside the French toast as the menu writeup may suggest). I hear that the cinnamon apple pie filling is amazing. I guess I'll have to come back for seconds and pair it with a bottomless Mimosa for $25 (avail Saturdays & Sundays, 10am - 3pm).
