    Chilaquiles and Breakfast Quesadilla
    Stephanie S.

Service was great. Place was a bit small. The wait time wasn't that long. I think I enjoyed the breakfast quesadillas more than the chilaquiles. Mimosas very tasteful. I definitely recommend this place hidden gym for sure.

Cancelled 15 minutes after ordering and saying in progress - no phone call to let me know the issue.

This former Grain Cafe - Van Nuys locations is the new and latest. I Love U Brunch is very much all in the name, however for this plant-based foodie their small limited vegan menu consist of a "Chicken" Sandwich, Burrito and Tacos. None of which are labeled on receipts, especially via third party apps. They've cancelled one of my take out orders as well as deliver for me and always seem to be out or low when in person... I'm not sure what the deal is here, but as far as I can tell it's very lackluster. It looks nearly exactly the same on the outside as when it was Grain with new signage and some nice additions to the inside (vibrant colors) though it could be a cousin of it's previous incarnation off Gilmore Street/Van Nuys Blvd. Not ideal for large groups as most tables and chairs, including the patio are limited to 2 to 4 people. I will say that some of the sides are vegan friendly as well as the avocado toast (without egg) and veggie wrap when you omit the dairy/cheese. Ideal for the average everyday brunch/breakfast lunch goer for sure. Easy small lot parking or local street parking. Load of beverages and dairy based smoothies which I believe can be made vegan since they do offer both almond and oat milk for their lattes. The service isn't the best, very off beat in a off way so I'm not sure I'll give them any more chances.

Had brunch with family on a beautiful Summer Sunday. I ordered the Birria Taco; siblings ordered chicken salad and Steak and eggs. Tasty and satisfying. Steak was fresh and tasted great! Wait staff was friendly and helped us with suggested items to try. Outside tables available; we ate outside. Everyone had a smile on their faces as they walked out of restaurant. Wonderful local brunch spot for all! We shall return. Cheers!~

my partner and I had a great experience. We came in for breakfast around 10am. Food was amazing! Water was crisp and they have parking! We ordered a cafe de olla and chilaquiles. The food came out pretty fast and our waiter was pretty attentive to us. The place is small so I would suggest to come early or make a reservation.

I was excited to try this place, and the food was good with decent service. However, I was disappointed with the cleanliness. The dishes didn't seem fully clean, the mimosa holder was sticky, and the cups looked worn. I ended up requesting plastic cups and utensils. I hope this is something they can improve, because it definitely affected my visit. Also, our food was pretty cold. I'm not sure I'll be back or recommend this place.

One of my favorite places for brunch!! The food is delicious and it's always fresh. The services is fast and they are all so kind! It is small and but they always make it work. There's plenty of street parking.

    Tierra y Mar Molcajete

had an amazing experience at I Love Brunch! The Tierra y Mar molcajete was absolutely delicious, loaded with perfectly cooked steak, shrimp, melted cheese, chorizo, and nopales. Every bite was full of flavor. I also ordered an horchata and a vanilla latte, and both were so good and refreshing. On top of the great food, the service was amazing, friendly, attentive, and welcoming. This place definitely exceeded my expectations, and I'll for sure be going back soon. Highly recommend!

The service here was great, however we ordered Arugala Salad with caramelized walnuts and none were in this salad . We brought it to the attention of the cook, they sent over granola as a supplement?!?!? We ordered a specialty drink which was supposed to have cucumber, apple, pineapple... they had informed us there was no cucumber Unfortunately all the rave reviews we saw on TikTok were a bust for us. The club sandwich was pretty ok .... That I will give them. Unique flavor .

I was walking and saw this place on the corner of my eye. It's kind of hidden from the main street. But it's definitely a hidden gem. Very clean inside. The girl working is very nice. And the food is excellent. I love my dish. They play music inside. It's a nice vibe. I would definitely come back. 5 stars

First time trying out I Love U Brunch, nice and clean breakfast spot, I was greeted by Vivian she was really nice and welcoming. I had the El Campeón it comes with 3 flavors of chilaquiles red, green and mole along with a 6oz New York steak strip medium rare and it was delicious, to drink I had a vanilla Latte really really good. I will definitely be coming back to try out more items in the future. Gracais a todos at I Love U Brunch for the delicious breakfast.

    Avocado toast. Not even toasted

I ordered over the phone and they told me 10 min. I arrive 15 minutes later only to be told to wait 15 more minutes. The avocado toast, isn't even toasted. The quality of the food is really bad. It's not even warm. And to top it off, it was over $50 for 3 items that were subpar. Really disappointed.

    Chille relleno

The food was absolutely fire! It was delicious! Cant wait to go back. It's a small hole in the wall. The food was fresh and very flavorful! I highly recommend it! We ordered the molcajete mar y tierra, quesa birria and the chile relleno!

    Floyd W.

Really amazing Chilaquiles best in the area if I'm being honest, it had really great flavor and the presentation was really beautiful.

They serve omelettes, sandwiches, salads, chicken wings, pastas, grilled salmon and PERFECT individual pizzas (that are still large enough to share). Even though you order at the register and the wait staff delivers to your table, the service is outstanding (even to your doggies!). Everyone who works there is friendly and helpful and attentive. The garden atmosphere is lovely. You dine under a trellis of fairy lights and bougainvillea. And on certain evenings and lunch times, they have wonderful musicians provide soft background music. They also have an interior space which is nice as well (and air conditioned), but the real charm is the garden, where my maltipoo, Bella, is always spoiled (she especially loves the fries). Parking can be challenging, so, I recommend going just before or just after the breakfast, lunch or dinner rush. I live in the neighborhood, but I have friends who drive from DTLA, Hollywood , West L.A. and even farther away to meet me there just for coffee (try the Vanilla Latte - yum), a lavender lemonade or a glass of wine and a plate of chicken wings (cooled in different styles). The owners and their family work there, too, and always make me, my dog and my friends feel so welcomed and special. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

The 8ounce steak was ordered medium rare and was extremely tender and flavorful the tagliatelle bolognese was creamy and came with great fresh herbs on top. The drinks were also amazing the blackberry mocktail and especially the blackberry vodka cocktail that cocktail is enough to have you swimming in the hotel pool. Sit on the patio to enjoy the full effect of the fairy lights, fireplace and cozy spaces meant for an intimate date. I had their Old Fashioned which was banana flavored for summer. The banana was a more subtle finish, not sweet, but I still prefer their peach version and wish it was also on the menu. The deviled eggs are just the right bite for drinks. We also had the flatbread and hummus, made with green garbanzo beans and served with watermelon radish and pita bread. TIP: if you like biscuits, order theirs! Put your order in right away because they're baked fresh for you and they take a while. With the honey butter, it's perfect! Service is consistently good! From the hostess stand to the bar, it doesn't matter where you are, staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. It feels like the setting of a perfect romantic comedy, the kind of place where people accidentally fall in love over coffee, old friends reconnect, and writers fill notebooks on sunny afternoons. The moment you walk through the garden gates, the city seems to disappear. The outdoor patio is beautiful year-round, with twinkling lights, mature trees, and an atmosphere that feels both elegant and completely relaxed. The food is consistently fresh and delicious, the bakery case is impossible to resist, and the market is filled with thoughtful finds that make every visit feel special. Whether you're meeting friends for brunch, having a business meeting, or simply enjoying a quiet morning, Sweet Butter has a way of making ordinary moments feel memorable. And if you are an east coast transplant like me, you will see a lot of friends here. What I love most is that it has heart. It's charming without trying too hard, stylish without being trendy, and welcoming to everyone who walks through the door. The owner dresses the place up every season and holiday and has a collection of amazing gifts to purchase from books to chotkes. It's a magical place and the entire menu is literally all good. It's a can't miss. It does have a rush lunch crowd from about noon to 230 pm so plan ahead for street parking as they don't take reservations. They do move food pretty quickly however. They have a cute outdoor patio and also a semi open indoor patio (it's the best way I can describe it). You have to order your food inside the cafe but you cannot sit in there, it's too small and they do not have tables. I did not order food so I cannot give an opinion about it. I ordered a large English breakfast hot tea with steamed oat milk on the side. Technically it's not a latte but on my receipt it says latte and they charged me $6.50 for it. Then, they added $2 for large. I am guessing for the large cup? For the oat milk I paid an extra $0.95. After tax I ended up paying $10.37 for a bag of tea and some oat milk which is pretty HILARIOUS!!!! The owner must be pretty delusional but also rich! I have never paid such a ridiculous price for a simple tea but maybe they sprinkled it with some gold dust which would justify the exorbitant amount! Anyway I sat outside on the outdoor patio and I realized that the patrons there are special people (or at least that's how they see themselves). The vibe is pretty pretentious but I was just minding my own business and enjoying my peace which got quickly disturbed by two wannabe actors who sat right next to me and started speaking so loud because you know how they like for others to hear about their impressive resume. LOL So to sum up I won't be returning mainly because they rip you off! They should rename the place sweet butter & sour bill!

I wish I had read my last review from 9 yrs ago before revisiting this place today…read more Let me tell you about the good things first... this won't take long. Kelley, our server, was a sweetheart. And the glass of wine was a nice pour and a decent wine. I like that they let you in for something to drink before officially opening for the day. Cue record scratch... now about that food. No, we did not order the wrong thing and no, IMO, they were not just having a bad day. Look at these Huevos Rancheros with "house hash, tostadas and 3 eggs"... those are chips (I think from a bag of tortilla chips) so not really a tostada, no way there were three eggs in that thing (from what I could see)... not sure what the "house hash" is but nothing I could identify on the plate. I know a lot of people might leave a restaurant and say "I could have made that at home" but there is no way I would make something this crappy at home. LOOK at this Avocado Toast with "avocado spread"... that is some thin smear of something green but when you are calling something "Avocado Toast" there should be a substantial amount of the hero ingredient (and maybe not call it "avocado spread" on your menu description. To me, that says, "Look we don't want to call this a "rustic mash of avocado" or "Hass smash" or "hand-crushed ripe avocado" because we know you are actually going to SEE it in front of you in about 15 minutes and "avocado spread" won't lead to a major disappointment." But it did. And this slab of dry plywood that they were calling toast. I turned to my wife and in my best Sebastian Manascalco said, "Why would you do that??" This place mostly failed on food. The food at the other tables looked equally pathetic. Gotta say... all of the cooked egg components of each dish were decent but the rest of the items were like WTF? Ambiance? It's OK... I mean it was a bar with a ton of TVs going. Semi-nice vibe for a sports bar... lots of room. Just can't get over the food. We ate about half of our sodium bombs and left. But parts of the eggs were lovely... as was Kelley.
