    Homemade tortillas!
    Adrian P.

Tacos El Amigo is the real deal. From the moment you walk up, you can tell this place takes pride in what they do. The tortillas are pressed fresh right in front of you and hit the grill perfectly -- warm, slightly crisp on the edges, and soft in the center. You can taste the difference immediately. The meat was flavorful, juicy, and seasoned perfectly. Every bite had that authentic street taco balance -- tender protein, fresh cilantro and onions, and salsa that actually brings heat and flavor instead of just spice. That green salsa especially was . Portions were generous and everything came out hot and fresh. You can tell nothing is sitting around -- it's made to order. Service was fast and friendly, and the whole setup feels authentic and welcoming. No gimmicks, just great food done right. If you're craving legit tacos in the Valley, this spot absolutely delivers. I'll definitely be back.

Y'all I am a REGULAR. I go here at least 2x a week? They have Wednesday specials sometimes. I believe they advertise $2 al pastor tacos but on occasion, they will do $1 al pastor tacos for the weds special. These tacos are genuinely so delicious. Hand made tortillas. Meat itself is so yummy and consistently pretty good. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because they can be a little inconsistent with the burrito portion sizes. They rotate staff so some are a little more heavy handed than others. I have also gotten some hardish rice on occasion. Nothing like stale and crazy but enough for me to be like hmm.. that was a rather hard grain . This has only happened once though. I mentioned they rotate staff and I noticed one of the new? ones makes the hand-made tortillas inconsistent sizes. But overall, its not serious enough for me to stop coming here. The staff is friendly. They speak Spanish and can be a bit shy but warm up to you with time (at least to me since I go so often LOL). The parking lot they set up by is usually pretty empty so parking is never an issue. I did try their torta one time but they oddly raised the price the next time I went so I didn't get it again. I remember it was $10 and the next day they charged me $12. I believe it's currently $12. One time they advertised the $1 al pastor tacos on their insta and charged me $2. Not an issue but the inconsistency is a little annoying. Burritos are my go to there. They are $10 and I usually get chicken or al pastor. Both meats are pretty solid and consistently good. Sauce wise they offer habanero (decently spicy but not wild crazy intense spicy if you can handle spice), red salsa (spicy), green salsa (mildly spicy), and guacamole salsa (mild). Would recommend this spot.

I've been here a year and seen the place gathering crowds but I don't usually like food trucks and the like so I didn't go right away. So after finally going to see why it was so popular, I got it. This place is different!!! The food is so FRESH & TASTY! I couldn't believe how much I liked it! When are you opening a restaurant?

Great tacos! Follow their ig page and they post hours, locations and special deals. They had $1 el pastor tacos the other day and they were amazing. They make fresh tortillas for all orders too!

He said the food was consistent and just as delicious as the first time. The spot is small, minimal, but very quaint LA style. Loved the artwork on the walls. A high top table inside with seating for 6 I think, and some window seats, but outside in the garden area there are multiple tables. The workers were very nice and friendly and helpful with answering any questions. The online ordering is very simple and easy to navigate. Parking lot gets full, but there is plenty of parking. The restaurant is right next to Pinkberry and in the same lot as Trader Joe's. Hold the door open for me, Loqui, because I'll be back soon!

My husband got 2 tacos, brisket and chicken and a side of chips. I through in a side of crispy potatoes. This was a nice cool Sunday evening around 6pm, the vibe was full-ish but still places to sit. There's a big bar around the cook area inside where you order or a covered patio outside area (with heating if necessary). We had a lovely evening, so we sat at the end of a bench. Our food came to our table I'd say within 10-15 minutes of ordering. I honestly could have shared mine. It was a lot with those potatoes, and even my husband who's a thin guy said one of those tacos would have been sufficient (and he could have helped me with mine...haha). We were just in the area visiting our kids, we come down frequently from NorCal, so we will definitely hit up this place again now that we've found it in the near future. I don't recall it ever coming out that juicy. It was delicious, but super soggy. I also ordered my tacos on the corn tortillas which were good, but their flour tortillas are definitely the star. One soggy taco isn't going to deter me from coming back, I do love the food here. Just wanted to provide feedback on those sauce bottles! Love, A salsa girlie

It's a taco truck parked in front of the Exxon gas station on the crossroads of Burbank Blvd. and Colfax Ave. Their toppings station looked great. I'm talking about thick, hearty, made in house chunky salsas. We got saudero tacos and I believe the single tortilla was also made from scratch. Unlike other tacos, the one corn tortilla was perfect and there wasn't a need for two. They were not stingy with the protein at all and I love that they were hearty and perfectly chunky pieces of saudero. I'm definitely coming back on a night where I'm too lazy to cook or craving some good Mexican food. P.S. their tortas looked insane and I'll probably try one of those asap

I recently tried out El Cocinero's food at an event that they catered to. As a person who eats meat and is not restricted, I would come here for the good food. The vegan al pastor had chunks of pineapple and it is seasoned and cooked to taste just like the meat version. The texture is just a little bit different but it does resemble a lot like meat. The vegan pastor also tastes just like the meat version, just less "smoky" and the texture is softer. The rice is flavorful and fluffy. The beans are seasoned just enough to have flavor but not compete with the other dishes. The creamy chipotle sauce was perfect topping the rice and beans. I do like vegan food but the only reference I had with Mexican vegan are places that try to add fake cheese and lean heavily on beans and rice. This business shows that you can still have all the flavors and not rely on cheese and meat. They focus on the flavors and not what would make non-vegans feel comfortable. Initially, I was going to give this first time experience a 4 star review so that it encourages me to go check out the restaurant so I can add the service and the ambiance. However, I was lucky enough to bring home leftovers and as I was eating it, the food tastes better. Had to add the extra star!

This place had everything you'd need and tastes so good for a vegan spot. You would be able to fool me and tell me this is actual meat and I'd believe it. That's how good it was! I got the quesadilla (half asada, half al pastor) omg that was the best thing I have ever had. The cheese melts and pulls just like regular Cheese. The meat was so juicy and good flavor. I'd get it again and again But I'd probably try the tacos next time along with the quesadilla tbh. I also got the flan which was tbh less sweeter than a regular flan. But hey I still loved it, I don't complain about it. It was still delicious. (Funny incident, I ordered the flan at the front and paid for it.i wasn't told anything else by the guy at the register. SoThen went back to the table and Waited and waited and waited for a good 20 minutes, till I asked about it and was told that I can just grab it out of the refrigerator!!!! Smh, as much as I was upset as much as I for some reason just found it funny. So don't do the same mistake I did and just go grab it right after you pay for it.) Overall, I loved everything and all the things about this place. Nice seating areas, nice environment , helpful workers, convenient parking! And most importantly, delicious food. Definitely be visiting this place again!
