This place is a gem. It is so good. They have such a good chorizo taco! I always get it when I'm there. They're burritos are 100% and their tortas are ! I am so happy it is close by to where I live. They have some yummy onions and also I always get to jalapeños to eat with my food, helps with my digestion and it also taste bomb. Wow, all I have to say is one of the best tacos I've ever had seriously, I'm new to the area and wasn't sure of really good tacos spots but when I arrived I was amazed how people were already waiting in line so that is always a good sign, second they have friendly staff, they welcomed me and my mom which made us feel welcomed. First off I'll note that I've been to many many many DOZENS of Taco Spots, Stands, Trucks, etc. in and around Los Angeles, Pasadena, Pomona, and the Valleys (both SFV and SGV), extending from Van Nuys to Sun Valley, as well as plenty of other locations. This should give you an idea of what I'm comparing this business to. With that being said, seldom do you come across any mom and pop type restaurant serving any cultural foods that offer proper utensils. Especially at food stands like these, 90% of the time you get some horrible flimsy a$$ forks, spoons, sauce cups, bags, paper towels, etc. This place earns a star or two just for having Costco's proper, durable, Kirkland brand EVERYTHING. Nobody wants to eat a heavy meaty anything with a flimsy a$$ fork. I'm yet to visit ANY OTHER LIKE-RESTAURANT with that to offer. Moving on, the food was pretty damn good and I went back for seconds the following day after my girl took half of my leftover asada burrito for lunch lol. OMW to the homie's crib from NoHo to Sun Valley the next day, I decided to stop here again around 11pm on a weekday and get some tacos. I filled up the condiments bag as I got my bag of food but it wasn't until I got to my destination, flipped my car inside out that I realized I forgot my food next on the condiments table and only grabbed the bag of sauces, limones, and other condiments. It was so heavy that I mistook it for my tacos and completely forgot about... I was rushing too so there was that. My friends were def hangry af lol. Thankfully, they were holding onto it just in case I went back. Although I tried calling them, I was unable to communicate anything with the guy. My friend even warned me since she couldn't communicate her order with him earlier either. Honestly, that is the only issue I had with this place. It doesn't matter the business, the owners, the neighborhood it operates out of... Everyone should have at least ONE PERSON (should honestly be everyone for the bare minimum, but I digress) that should be able to speak, AT THE VERY MINIMUM, some basic enough English to communicate orders with their customers. I love my hard working Mexican peoples with their honest earning and have respect, but there's got to be a realization that regardless of how anyone of any ethnicity feels about our melting pot of mixed cultures in LA, we all should learn to speak the United language of 'Merica. It's not good for business, it's not good for the environment, and most importantly, it's not good for the soul.. The Carne Asada here is second to none. Perfectly seasoned, tangy, and grilled. The horchata actually has flavor here, the tortillas are home made. They even have beans for your tacos. Try this place it's better than el venado down the street. Place looks kinda dumpy but it's still good! read more

Fourth of July after a fireworks show when everyone else was closed, this place was a beacon of light. The smell of delicious meats cooking on the griddle called to us like a siren. Watching my tripa tacos get fried extra crispy made my mouth water. To top it off I was offered grilled onions, chilies and beans. This is a hidden gem in the San Fernando valley, Yelp says they are closed but they are actually open. On Lankershim and vanowen in front of auto shop. One key component to good tacos is a tortilla and here they are handmade and perfect. The meat is marinated and very juicy especially enjoy the carne asada and lengua . This place is definitely not closed. They are open Tuesday-Sunday, I'm really not sure why Yelp says they are closed. These are the best tacos in the SFV. The Carne Asada is cooked over mesquite smoke, the tortillas are handmade, and they have super-legit pico de gallo in addition to the usual onions and cilantro. Tacos are only $1.50, and they have grilled onions, grilled jalapenos, and beans in addition to the usual toppings. If you're coming here for the first time, I recommend coming on the weekend during a busy time, getting yourself 1-2 carne asada, 1 tripas, and 1 cabeza taco. You'll basically have the best of everything. I went on a tour of every single taco truck/street stand in North Hollywood about six months ago, and Tacos Soloma was by far the tastiest. Do yourself a favor and visit them. But don't come on a Monday, or like Yelp, you will think that they are closed. Because they are closed on Mondays. read more
