I tried Durango's outside of the Tonga Hut on a weekday and WOW do I appreciate our local taco stands in LA!! They accept both cash and card but there is a card fee so bring cash. We got the barbacoa tacos 4 for $13 and *chefs kiss* they were so delightful!! Meat was soft, fresh, fun spice available + limes. We also got the asada tacos which were great and the quesadilla all of which was the perfect food for a night out drinking. read more

Best Mexican food in Los Angeles. I am from Durango Mexico and it tastes like home. The best barbacoa I've ever had, asada and chicken were also on point. The extra large burrito filled me up. THEIR BARBACOA IS FUCKING FLAME. My uber driver pulled up at that exact moment, so I did what any intelligent, respectful person who'd ever ate Durango's Tacos would do in that situation. I walked up to my driver and told him to start the clock because I'm not fucking leaving without their barbacoa tacos and also would he like some, because driving uber is basically the service industry and he didn't want any but just be fucking nice to everyone in the service industry you filthy heathens, is it really that hard? What a brilliant idea, setting up a quick eatery serving fresh grilled carne asada, chicken tacos / burritos / quesadillas right behind a stretch of bars. These guys must make out like bandits, and they deserve that based on the quality of the food I tried! The price point is low as well which makes the delicious food here a great value. She has some very tasty, very reasonably priced food and is usually at the Tonga Hut Wednesday through Sunday nights.
