I've been coming to Henry's tacos since 1962 before it moved from the cactus taco place. I think their prices are outrageous especially considering that in 1962 I was buying tostadas for a Nickel. The cost of us Stellas is probably about $0.25 $.30 but yet they charge $$5.50. The person who takes the orders has an attitude and is about as friendly as a angry badger. Plus, the quality of the food has actually declined in recent years. This place has to be a Gem but now all of this is a piece of granite. So sad. read more

Henry's Tacos is a good place for a quick bite to eat after walking around the other shops along tujunga near here. They have a few tables outside to sit at which are nice when in the shade. I had a couple hard tacos and loved them. All the ingredients tasted fresh. The ground beef had a great flavor to it and the Crunchy Taco Shell was great quality and didn't fall apart. I've never been served a taco so fast in my life. This is an institution obviously, been there forever. It's cash only and the tacos are just very standard and basic. But that's what you go to Henry's for. It's just you're getting a taco and you're paying like 4 bucks for it. I got one beef taco - it comes one way - and a small Coke and I gave her a 20 and she gave me my change back and immediately gave me my taco. It was like just there. I didn't see anybody make it. Maybe they make them ahead of time. It's outdoor seating only from what I saw. They do have umbrellas to get in the shade and it was very clean. The servers inside were very nice. I truly love this place; because they serve good, fresh food with plenty of ingredients. Good portions, but not that affordable. It's a bit pricy, but you get what you pay for. This is a family owned business and they keep it real and clean. Inside and outside. They have a cute patio in the front and in the back which is always enjoyable to sit outside and have your food. They don't have many options to choose from, since this is not an actual restaurant to sit down and order your food. Limited menu options which doesn't give you too much time to think what is it that you want to order?? They have Tostadas, soft and crunchy hard Tacos, Burritos which normally comes with ground beef, beans, lettuce and tomato. If you want to add anything extra such as guacamole, sour cream, rice, then you need to pay extra. They also give you mild and hot sauces. I was there on Saturday 1/3/2026 in the afternoon and got a crunch/hard shell taco and their standard size burrito. SO good! Especially their flour tortilla burrito. Always my 1st choice wherever I go!! Also have soft drinks. Few parking spots adjacent to the Taco booth/stand and a very nice, helpful, good customer service. CASH ONLY!! Place is neat and clean!! ZERO STARS! The girl with the giant fake filler lips that works as cashier is the literal definition of an incompetent employee. She doesn't listen, she charges you, you pay and then she asks for more $ after she made a mistake. Then you pay more. The she removes half your order from bag without saying one word. Even though i heard her tell the cook "bean and cheese burritos, no lettuce or tomato." But never puts it in your bag. To top it off, they raised soft tacos prices to $6.25 but left hard tacos $3.75. When you ask why they both aren't more? She went on about everything is more money and beef is expensive. It made no sense. She certainly likes to hear herself talk. Maybe she was high and thats why she was so confused? I cant even process it. I'm not sure i've ever dealt with such an idiot. The work area was filthy, just gross. I have been coming to Henry's for decades and knew the OG owners well. My kids were raised on Henry's and now my grandkids. Sadly, the quality and portion size has dropped tremendously, while the prices have skyrocketed. I wouldn't mind paying the higher price if the quality and portion size was still good. At this point, the food is disappointing and the cost is extreme for what you get. I feel like they are surviving on nostalgia alone, due to the history of the establishment and its historic location (previously across the street and currently in the old Barnaby's location). Adding to the disappointment is the lack of friendly or efficient customer service. To the point where they cannot even make your order correctly. Henry's needs to make some changes quick or I fear they won't be around much longer. Which will be crushing for us long-timers read more

Been eating at Henry's for 50+ years. Definitely hits a certain spot. One of my old school faves... Has always been a neighborhood staple...has a certain something that's hard to put a finger on. The Vibe...the OGness...tradition...the pop font...and of course, unique product offering and great flavors and great value!!! Whatever the case may be, life long fan. All that having been said...must also mention that it's better now than it's ever been. The tortillas are most definitely better than they used to be. The product prep is tighter...flavors/textures are just a little bit better than they were in the past. Although they could put just a little more in the hard shell tacos. Used to have just a little more filling/cheese/let-tom. JS But wanted to share that it's def being better managed than 10-20 years ago. It's not authentic Mexican, but I've always liked it -- and I even fought hard for them back when they almost went out of business a decade ago and had to relocate across the street. My only complaint now? The food is still good and the prices are still solid... but please do NOT trust their posted hours. Luckily there now right down the street on Tujunga. The best Gringo Mexican especially when you need so Which quick, friendly, fast service. And it's a bargain! It's decent. Got the hard shell taco, tostada, and combo burrito. Menu is basic. Items are basic. Ingredients are minimal and simple... but in a good way. I just wish for the price I got a little more. I didn't leave hungry, but I feel like the burrito could've had more meat, and same with the tostada. This is a Costco taco- meaning the most basic, non-creative, region less, flavorless taco you'll ever have in The taco Mecca of LA. The shell is not made in house.
