This is my favorite location!! The staff go above and beyond...especially the GM, Celiany, Amanda & Willy. They welcomed me and my friends for my birthday celebration which I will never forget! All of my friends loved their food and drinks! Service was excellent. This "one and done," actually had a guava & hibiscus margarita. The hibiscus is made from a fresh puree and it is now my go to drink here. We all shared our dishes so I was able to try a few items. I ordered the cheese quesadilla which was huge and easy to shre On Thursday nights they had a salsa band which got us up and dancing! They have karaoke on Wednesday nights which might be fun to check out. Inside is very spacious with plenty of tables. They clear an area for the salsa band so patrons can dance. *Street parking only *Happy Hour is Mon - Friday 3 - 7pm (drink & food HH menu) It is one of my favorite HH places

    Such fun, vibrant vibes!

Stopped by during happy hour for a dear friend's birthday celebration and had a great experience! Vivid, vibrant cantina vibes with a Dia de Los Muertos theme, lively music, homemade syrups for their drinks, and an eclectic mix of dishes on their menu! They have a generous happy hour menu weekdays from 3-7pm and the chicken taquitos were a big hit with our party. We also tried the buffalo wings and they were pretty decent except that the sauce was a tad watery for my liking. Everyone loved their drinks - Sex on the Beach, Cucumber Margarita Slushie, Pomegranate Marg - all fresh, beautiful, and delicious! Off the regular menu we sampled cheese quesadillas and esquite which were both excellent. And they even have a couple of intriguing (and very unexpected!) sushi rolls - so I couldn't resist trying their Dragon Roll - which has crab, jalapeño, cream cheese, and cucumber inside and comes fried with spicy mayo and teriyaki on top - it also comes with a couple of pieces of shrimp tempura on the side. The roll is absolutely ENORMOUS!! It could easily feed two (if not three) people! I couldn't believe how huge it was - it was good but a tad bland so I'm not sure I'd get it again unless I was sharing with people. The shrimp tempura it came with was excellent though and the shrimp inside was very large. The vibes are seriously cute - such vibrant colors and I loved all the wall art and decor. The space is wide open, they have live music and even had salsa dancing on our visit! There's table and bar seating and it's a good marriage of hometown bar vs dance club vibes. Definitely a good time to be had here. Service was excellent - so friendly and attentive. Prices are what you'd expect for NoHo. Parking is all street parking but I found a nearby space easy enough on a Thursday evening. I think they have some valet parking too possibly. I had fun and would definitely come again.

    Quesa birria tacos 10/10!!!

This place was such a vibe! Great food and music, the service was great in the fact they were fast despite it being crazy packed for Cinco De Mayo. They were all energetic, they had dancers and a drag queen there haha. It was such a blast. Food and alcoholic drinks were amazing! The margaritas were flavorful and the micheladas were made perfectly, the Mexican candy shot was strong haha. Although that was priceyy. $16 for a shot!!! The food itself was some of the best tacos I have had and they loaded them up with meat so it was super filling. The only thing is of course parking cause it's West Hollywood but if you go late enough parking could be free haha. Definitely wanting to come back here

This place is okay. It's located in the NOHO arts district near a couple different bars. We came here for an unexpected girls night on the weekend and it was a full house. It gets very popular on the weekends as a lot of people like to celebrate birthdays here. We got some kind of mixed drink shots and they were alright. The flavor is just very sweet and overwhelming. It may be for you if you're into sweet drinks. The presentation is beautiful though. I do appreciate that. We also got some chips and guac to share. Like I said I would definitely recommend this place for a birthday dinner with friends or a girls night. The music is usually very loud. There's street parking and a free parking structure nearby.

Came to celebrate before a comedy show! this time we took advantage of their Happy hour! I had their quesa birria tacos and shared the asada fries. My cousin had their mole plate ( not part of the happy hour) and my fiancé had a wet burrito. i also had their mangoneada and it was pretty good. it had mango chunks which made it even better. service was good. our server was attentive and very friendly. Oh! i forgot to mention we also had their queso fundido. it was pretty good too. though, we've never had it with toppings. that was interesting. Parking can get tricky because its off lankershim blvd. so, arrive with time if you want to find something relatively close.

This spot is great so cute, the service was good too. The food was amazing too. Drinks has lots of choices.

The food here was actually really good, I had the burrito & it was packed with flavor & it was big ! The music was too loud to begin with though & you had to speak loud to hear anything. The birthday chants were constant & made it even louder & harder to hear anything. If you can handle that then this is a good place to celebrate. The staff was nice & helpful & got the food out fast given that it was packed

I've been to a couple of Kalaveras restaurant and each one has a slightly different menu and different look. The one thing in common is it is always very loud and noisy so it's hard to have conversations in this particular branch - the service was good. The waitress was friendly and the food did not take long to arrive. it is a nice place to eat and drink. the location itself is ok but parking is hard so we had to park a few blocks away and i didn't feel very safe walking back to my car because it was a bit dark late in the night

Kalaveras noho is my favorite Kalaveras out of the couple that I've been to. Inside is beautifully decorated with a chic Mexican inspired theme with lots of TVs and a spacious area. They have live Spanish music on Thursdays, which I enjoy and it enhances the overall experience. Bartenders are always on point and with their drinks and my favorite is the "El Chamuco" (mezcal). Overall all their drinks are enjoyable. If you're looking for a fun party atmosphere make sure to check out Kalaveras noho.

Came to Kalaveras for lunch with some coworkers on a Wednesday. The place was pretty empty, but it's a LARGE dining room area with a full bar. There were TV screens everywhere bumping Bad Bunny type of music. Felt like a club. Totally a vibe. Cheese Quesadillas - Delicious!!! The cheese was cheesin!! The only thing that could've been improved was having a crispier tortilla. I also would've loved it if there was more guac and salsa in the little cups they provide for your quesadilla. You could also add meat for an additional charge La Güera - Such a divine cocktail! Looks super fruity but it actually had a nice balance. Very tropical tasting. Prices were slightly on the more expensive side. They do have a happy hour though and the appetizers are quite large if you want to have that as your entree! Our server was attentive. We got our food pretty timely too. The bar was slow though, even though we were only 1 of the 3 groups there. They had a separate bartender making cocktails too. Our drinks came well into us eating our meals. The drinks -were- delicious though! Would be interested to come here during dinner. It's definitely a vibe and the food was pretty good!

    Happy Hour Strawberry Slushie Margarita
    Maribeth J.

We saw the season opener Cowboys @ Eagles here. If there's no parking out front, there's usually parking on the side street. Plenty of open seating when we arrived around 5pm. Happy hour (3-7pm) was pretty solid - $10 slushie margaritas, $5 draft beers, and $8 appetizers. We got wings, taquitos, and quesa birria tacos. All pretty solid. I also got their strawberry and pineapple slushies. The strawberry was better. Shoutout to our server Amanda for the recs. Kinda wish they turned off some lights because it reflected into the big screen and it was a bit hard to see the game from where we sat. Not a dealbreaker though since there's TVs everywhere. That same night at 8pm, it was salsa and cumbia night. A chill spot to watch games and turn up at night.

    Place sucks
    Wally C.

Every time I come to Kalaveras, the service is terrible--doesn't matter if the place is full or empty. Prices are ridiculous for average food, nothing special. They act like they're in some high-end area where they can charge an arm and a leg, lol. Last time I ordered tacos, they came out cold. Today, I decided to give them another shot and came in for enchiladas and tacos. I asked if I could substitute the tortillas for flour--server said no. But the party next to me got flour tortillas. Really? I just decided not to order anything. Don't waste your time or money on this place. Overpriced, inconsistent, and they treat customers like crap.

Visited this location for the first time. Great welcoming into the party zone. It's a large room filled with tables, bar and open dance floor with live music and special events throughout the week. Great place to celebrate a friends Birthday! They go all out here. I will make one suggestion, maybe have the whistle person not blowing right next to customers ears. Everything else was spectacular and really made for a great night of celebration. All the staff here are amazingly wonderful and really take good care of their guests. Happy hour had a nice selection of apps. Their regular menu has a nice variety. Drinks we're great! Parking is sparse with metered street or nearby structure just down the back alley of the building. Great to see the consistency among all locations. Can't go wrong with Kalaveras.

On top of that, the STAFF - the folks we met on a Monday (senior citizen hour) night were incredibly kind and attentive. We did stay through the first set of musicians that performed and it was great. Loud, but not loud enough that me and my friend couldn't still talk. Now onto the food. A nice surprise, considering this is a music joint! That bread was solid. The side portions decent - mushrooms and broccoli were fine. The steak was a generous size, cooked appropriately medium rare, and came with a unique side of bone marrow salsa. That was a nice, interesting touch. Was it the BEST food I've ever had? Not exactly, BUT it was the best food as part of a music joint, in the Valley. So the 5 star rating is really for the OVERALL experience.

**TL;DR: Great food, but terrible seating layout and "VIP" policy ruins the experience**…read more We booked a reservation well in advance and explicitly selected the main dining room, looking forward to the live music experience Verse is known for. Instead, we were placed to the right of the stage in a row of three 2-person tables (which they still consider the "main dining room"). For a venue centered around a performance, this layout makes zero sense: You only see the backs and profiles of the band, and the tables are positioned so that one person literally has their back to the stage the entire night. It felt like a second-class experience that completely missed the mark on value. Seeing three empty tables with proper views, we asked the hostess if we could move. We were told no because they were "completely booked and reserved for VIPs." Some time later, a manager came by to say that one of the VIPs hadn't showed up so a table was now available (the VIP by the way was an off-duty worker there). We didn't end up moving; the whole interaction left us with really mixed, sour feelings. It's incredibly frustrating to know regular paying customers who book ahead are treated as second-tier while prime tables sit empty for no-show "VIPs." Valet is $15 by the way. Due to the subpar experience and being stuck in a corner, I just couldn't in good conscience order the way I typically do, which usually includes multiple appetizers, several pasta and main dishes, dessert, and a great bottle of wine or champagne. Instead, we heavily scaled back our meal. As for what we did try, the kitchen has real highlights but a few misses. We started with the Peruvian scallops (5 to an order), served cold, ceviche-style, which had good flavor. For mains, the lobster tagliatelle was excellent. However, the mushroom linguini fell short; the pasta was far too tough and needed a couple more minutes of cooking, and it was oversaturated with a mornay sauce that completely overpowered the dish. To drink, the rosé was crisp and fresh. Overall, while some of the food is excellent, the poor floor layout and frustrating seating policies made this an extremely disappointing experience that wasn't worth the premium price.

They brought out a Swiss Miss packet, and made passive aggressive comments about how they were going above and beyond for her and they should charge her double (she's not a picky person so for her to complain you know it's bad) - we only found three games in the place but they were small plastic things like flick the ball into the hoop with all pieces out of the boxes and laying randomly under a tv tray behind a bar table - the food wasn't very good - the waiter didn't remember he needed my payment for the two hours I was there - the menu was basically non existent because their fryer was down and so they couldn't offer most items - it was dark and hard to see anything - the owner and her relative took over our hangout for around 30-40 min, asking us to bring in our "actor friends" and help them get more business.

They…read morehave a tiki marketplace several times a year, and this one was held on a Sunday afternoon from noon to 6pm. It takes place mostly in their rear patio area and parking lot, but a good number of vendors were also in an adjacent air conditioned event room. They have a very small parking lot, but it was occupied by vendors during this event. Do not park in the parking lots of the adjacent businesses, as we were warned when entering the Tonga Hut that cars get towed regularly. There's plenty of street parking in the nearby neighborhood. Entering from the rear, there is a good sized covered patio with around eight benches. We went inside to check it out and grab a drink. The interior is fairly small with four good sized booths, a lounge area with a large J-shaped couch with several small tables, and around ten seats at the bar. It is dimly lit with some basic tiki décor, and has an old-school feel. They had a fixed cocktail menu for this event which is understandable. We stood in line at the bar for about ten minutes, got our drinks and went out to the patio. The bartender was friendly, and didn't seem flustered by the high volume of patrons. I had the Horned Beast O' The Celtic Sea (Oceanus Hibernicus Irish Malt, Jamacian Rum, House Made Falernum & Orgeat, Peach, Citrus, Dash of Cherry Heering, $13). She had the Leprechaun Grog (Three Rums, Lime, Grapefruit, Honey, Spice, Soda, $14). Both drinks were good, were served in souvenir plastic cups, and were a bargain at $13 to $14. If you ordered a drink containing Oceanus whiskey, the bartender gave you a gold coin and you could exchange it with the Oceanus representative on the patio for a free T-shirt. Durango Tacos was setup near the rear entrance for food. We had four tacos (two carne asada and two veggie), and they were good and reasonably priced. This was the first tiki marketplace we have attended. There were around twenty vendors with a good assortment of art work, tiki mugs, tiki clothing, tiki décor, and other miscellaneous items. I purchased a few nice tiki shirts which were a steal at $20 and $25. The vendors and visitors were all very friendly and in a festive mood. We hung out for about ninety minutes and had a good time. We will return at some point to try their regular cocktail menu and see what it's like on a non-event night.

Tonga hut is my favorite local tiki bar, but it is such a hit or miss when I go!…read more On a weekend, you could easily walk in with no problem or be hit with a one-hour wait. Sometimes they have servers, other times you order at the bar. The last time I went, there was a long line as only one bartender was making drinks, yikes! Despite that, the drinks are solid, reasonably priced, and strong! They have a variety of drinks and nightly specials. Each bartender also has their own "secret menu" specials that only they can make. The decor is very on theme, and they have a fire pit and heaters outside for when it is chilly.

Echoing what everyone else has been saying - the service is SO slow. It was about 45 minutes before we were able to order our second drink and our water glasses were empty. They have so many runners bringing the drinks out but only a few servers and, from the looks of it, one bartender (on a Saturday night - what?!). The server was saying he was trying to find a manager to help out but they were nowhere to be found. Clearly management is fine with these service times since they're still making $$$. The drinks were delicious, and I loved that there were heaters on the patio (though they did get very hot at times). Our server was so kind and brought us a celebratory drink. I do wish there were more explanations with the beverages, especially for the Paid Vacation as most people will not realize you're supposed to bite into the buzz button for the tingly sensation. I would come back, but need some time for my wallet to recover first, haha!

Ya'll, this here is a gem! You go in and there's none of that pretentious bs. Don't got to worry…read moreabout others judging you. Everyone is literally there to have a good time, doing their own thing. Like I want to say, this is a safe place (?) I don't think I've ever used those words to describe a bar before! There's an entire wall of board games for you to choose from. We played about 3 or 4 games? And each one had all the pieces, amazingly! This just goes to show you that the people that visit this establishment respect and care for the games, which is a reflection on the clientele itself. And of course, you're welcome to bring your own game as well. We got there a bit after opening so we were able to get one of the multi seater tables. When we left at 3PM, the place was packed! The bar seats were all taken and the outside seating was pretty filled too. So be sure to get here early if you're looking for a table. Got an order of the chicken tenders and sweet potato tots. The chicken tenders was alright. But the sweet potato tots were delicious! We also ordered drinks. The food didn't take long and the staff was friendly. Parking is strictly street parking. So don't go parking at the KFC lot next door. Honestly, this place is great! Check it out if you're looking for a spot to chill and hang out! Good people and good vibes all around!
