    Carne Guisada plate

I decided to give this local restaurant another try. And it was again a disappointment. Came in on Friday which is apparently karaoke night. While this would have been all fine and dandy if the restaurant wasn't so small, and the DJ set up wasn't made for a huge venue. It wasn't just loud. It was painfully loud. So loud that the waitress couldn't hear me or understand my order. So many minutes later she brought out the wrong order. I had ordered Carne Guisada and she brought Carne Asada. The Asada looked burnt. So I sent it back. Didn't really get any apologies. it was obvious that the waitress spoke no English. But even pointing at the picture didn't help. When the food finally came out, was poorly made and flavored. The gravy was watery, not thick. It had vegetables in it that aren't normally associated with this dish like potatoes and green beans. It really had no seasoning. Bland. The refried beans looked like a brown soup. The rice was alright, but again, no flavor. Service was so bad that I had to go to the bar to get the attention of the wait staff which were hiding in the kitchen area.

Came in for a business trip. Very spacious restaurant. Parking is not a problem. The food was delicious!! Very flavorful and they give you a lot for an affordable price!! Service it self was great. Server is friendly and they serve you well.. definitely will come back and I highly recommend this Salvadorian restaurant!!!!!! P.S I think they do karaoke too!!! Fun things to do during the weekend with friends!!! (I came in early morning!)

Not the worst food but high prices and slow slow slow service. Very small portions. A decent chef but they're a rip-off. I left-0- tip and I apologized for that. But it was really bad. Too bad because someone can cook.

Some friends recommend this restaurant to me, and I went today looking for pupusas, but for my surprise, they even have quesadilla and miloha sweet Salvadorean bread, so so good. We ended up ordering a Pan con pollo and a breakfast. This restaurant food is 10 out of 10 points as well the service. Everything was delicious.

Jaltepeque is a hidden gem. This was one of my first times eating Salvadoran food and boy was I impressed. I ordered 2 pupusas and a tamale. The pork pupusa was my favorite, but I also had the one that came with cheese and the green flower that is local to the region (not sure what it's called). The tamale was also very good, however it was a little light on the filling to my liking. The waitress only spoke Spanish, but luckily my friend could order for us. After eating, I forgot my sunglasses on the table and had to drive back to get it. The waitress was so nice and had already taken them behind the counter to keep them safe. The portions were huge and for the price you can't go wrong!

Chicharron con Frijol Pupusa. These are huge and delicious!

The food is delicious. Appetizers are perfect for sharing and it is a great place for a party. We went for my father in laws birthday celebration. There was karaoke on Friday and we had a blast. Our server Jenny was amazing and very accommodating. The place is a bit small and there is limited parking but it is worth checking out.

I'm Salvadorian. Let me make this clear, it is very difficult to find a great Salvadorian Restaurant. It looks like we finally found it. We were really not expecting it, but man the Pupusas 10/10. Horchata 10/10. Yuca con chicharron 10/10. The service was absolutely amazing. She was extremely tentative and fast, had a smile the whole time, unfortunately I forgot her name or if not i would put it on this review. We went on a Friday and they had DJ who was not only doing Karaoke, but was playing absolute hits. The vibe was a lot of fun. We even ended up singing a song. Honestly this place blew us away. We can't wait to bring our family and friends here. I just hope the quality never goes down, because if they stay consistent this place will become a big hit.

We drove an hour to get here and arrived right when they opened. The gentleman at the counter greeted us warmly and asked if we'd ever had Puerto Rican food before. We told him about our trip and how much we'd loved the food, and from there, he proceeded to walk us through every single item on the menu--including the drinks and desserts. He was incredibly welcoming and clearly proud of the food they serve. After plenty of deliberation, we finally placed our orders. We started with the bacalaitos--a thin, crispy cod fritter served with garlic sauce. A tad greasy, yes, but what a treat! Then came what we had driven an hour for: the mofongo. Between the three of us, we ordered the pernil (slow-roasted pork shoulder), the churrasco with chimichurri, and the shrimp with garlic sauce. These are definitely not light meals, but WOW. The flavors were impeccable--rich, garlicky, savory, and incredibly satisfying. It immediately brought back memories of the food we loved so much in Puerto Rico. Needless to say, we found our mofongo spot. And yes, we will absolutely make the trek again.

I had the carnas fritas which was a fried pork, and it was a little hard and chewy, but still quite good (is that normal?). The fried chicken on mofongo was much softer. We took home a flan de queso for dessert and it was great! It was a flan pudding but thicker, closer to a cheesecake thickness, and absolutely wonderful.

Others did start to arrive during our meal, so the atmosphere livened up a bit as the energy increased. My wife made an "entree" out of 2 starters: Shrimp Scampi and Roasted Mushrooms. Both came piping hot, sizzling in skillets with a good bit of butter, garlic and white wine in each. The shrimp were medium sized, which made them very tender, and they really held onto the pleasingly powerful garlic butter they were bathed in. The same was true of the mushrooms, prepared almost the same, with perhaps a bit less garlic. These were fairly ordinary button mushrooms, cooked whole, but cooked so well that their lack of fanciness didn't matter at all. For myself, I ordered the Steak Milanesa Sandwich, served on their crispy Argentine bread with tomatoes and mayo, plus a liberal dressing of spicy chimichurri that I added myself. It was a good sandwich, but the beef was sliced a bit too thin, becoming tougher than usual during the frying process. It wasn't in any way bad, but I've had it better here at other times. The accompanying French Fries were hot, crisp, salty and just right. The portion (sandwich and fries) is very generous, and quite filling.
