Came here a few nights ago when craving a burrito and I'm so thankful for the affordability and quality of the food here. I also love that they have vegan options. It's a cute spot where you can order at the window and then pick it up minutes later, as they are always really quick to make the food. I got the soyrizo veggie burrito and loved the flavor and heartiness of the soyrizo and how it was spiced and seasoned. It definitely dominated the burrito but the veggies stood out in having their own seasonings and being cooked to perfection. The beans and rice were also very hearty and really mixed well with everything. I got an avocado salsa to add in and it really had a nice creamy buttery flavor to the burrito. I also really like how they included some chips, which were perfectly crispy. Everything tasted fresh and it seemed like a lot of care was taken in making the burrito. The service was very friendly and accommodating. There was plenty of outdoor seating when I arrived, but I opted to eat my meal in the comfort of my home. Parking was super easy in their lot, although since they are located on the busy street of Coldwater right by the 101 exit, I struggled to get out of the lot. I highly recommend this restaurant as a lovely Mexican joint with options for all dietary needs!

I came here with my dad when our power was out to grab some breakfast. I drive past Hugo's all the time and they've been in business for all my life so we decided to check it out. We came on a Wednesday and they have an all day Wednesday special of burritos being $9 or $10 but this seems like their normal burrito prices so I was a bit confused by the deal?? Parking is challenging; there is a way to access parking in the back if you go through the small side street before Coldwater and you can also park across the street on Coldwater for free 1 hour parking. There is limited outdoor seating available. Breakfast burrito (with pinto beans and pico de gallo) 3.5/5, ok so this would have been a 4 if I ordered a spicier sauce than pico de gallo. The burrito was freshly made and savory, I would get this again.

Honestly for a place that's literal name includes tacos I'm sad that the tacos were mid. Ordered 4 chicken tacos w green salsa Ordered 4 chicken tacos w pico since apparently the red salsa is extremely hot Came with a small side of tortilla chips Ordered sour cream and rice and beans. The tacos were dry it hurt my soul. I guess my expectations of Mexican food is for it to be flavorful, juicy, and moist. Do not expect taqueria style tacos. They don't give the carrots and jalepenos or grilled onions on the side. Chicken was salty. The pico de gallo on the tacos was NOT IT. Maybe order something else, like the burrito. God I want to cry. I'm a certified big back stuck in a Pilates body so this made me sad inside.

In the land of tacos, this place is a real loser!! I ordered two tacos on taco Tuesday. The Carnitas were so dry and stringy that it was inedible, and the Carne Asada was incredibly hard to chew because the meat was so tough. Yuck

Friendly service & clean restaurant. Never noticed the indoor sitting area next to the order window. Ordered chicken tacos, brc, quesadillas and chicken burrito. The chicken was dry on both items. The quesadillas and Brc tasted good. Will give this place another shot next time I'm in the area.

My favorite taco spot in Los Angeles. Fresh ingredients, nice staff, lots of vegetarian and GF options in addition to their amazing carne asada!

Do you love tacos as much as I do? Then I highly recommend hitting up Hugo's for some yummy tacos. This taco stand is located on the south west corner of Cold Water Canyon & Riverside Drive. A few tables are outside and they have indoor seating to the right of the stand. Perfect for hanging with friends or doing some work. A stack of games ready to be played and a fresh water dispenser are also available. Hugo's Tacos are made with only the freshest organic ingredients. The guacamole and side of fries are a must:) *Taco Tuesday Specials *Gluten free and vegan options *Street parking

I had the potato taco with a soft shell and honey chipotle salsa-- my favorite part was definitely the salsa! It wasn't too spicy and tasted really good. The taco itself didn't feel exceptional but was enjoyable, I think if I went again I'd try one of the meat options as the potato may not have been the best filling to showcase their capabilities. Service was good, the staff was friendly and my order came out quickly! I was pleasantly surprised by the dining room. It had AC which was definitely appreciated over the summer, and the decorations were cool. And I was glad to see that they had games and books to borrow while dining at Hugo's Tacos! If I went again I would definitely enjoy borrowing one of their board games (I had my eye on Rummikub). Very cool establishment!

I'll go one by one as I really didn't skimp on any of it..... First off, the brisket was so tender I couldn't even get it on to my plate originally. I had to keep stabbing at it with a fork and it just kept falling into pieces it was magical. The flavor was amazing with the perfect combination of that smokey and fire grilled taste. Didn't even need to use any sauce, but don't sleep on their BBQ sauce it had the perfect flavor of not too acidic and not too sugary. It's hard to stop eating it. I had to follow it up with the brisket quesadillas because.... well because they were staring at me and I had to show them who was boss.... Again, insane flavor combo and pleasantly addicting. Next move I had to throw down on a couple of hot wings to make sure my taste buds were still jumping and ready for the upcoming situation. Just for reference purposes, nice little kick with a bit of smokey flavor. Could've eaten 20 in one sitting but was continuing on my path of BBQ destruction. We now veered over to the baby back ribs .... I think I ate 10 before I realized what was going on. Yet again, the flavor was perfect and the meat was cooked to perfection. It didn't need any sauce, but I was a big fan of loading up on the BBQ sauce for these bad boys..... Next I shifted my fat eyed focus over to the tri-tip. It had that perfect pink center looking like a medium rare meaty super model. I went a different route here and dipped it into this horseradish sauce concoction that I never seen or heard of in my life. I don't know what was in that sauce, but it was phenomenal. I could have literally eaten this stuff by itself, but everyone was looking so I didn't want to make it weird. The tri-tip itself didn't even need any sauce and was super juicy, but that sauce just elevated the taste to another level. Now we decided to go a different location on the farm pay tribute to some smoked chicken. I had to dabble with both the BBQ sauce and the horseradish sauce as my dipping/smothering choices for this tasty bird. Couldn't even tell you how great it was without the sauce, since my mind was already fading trying to fight off my meat sweat coma. Lastly for our protein portion of the evening, I had to top it off with some of that pulled pork. Now this was extremely flavorful and some of the best I've had in quite some time. I did however enjoy lathering it up with that BBQ sauce like some of his fellow plate mates I already devoured. I will give a shout out to the sides, even though I only had a brief taste of each as I was going hard on the proteins. High fives to the potato salad, coleslaw, Mac and cheese, street corn, corn bread, tator tots and collard greens. I may have possibly missed one or 2, but after gorging on disgusting amounts of food, you tend to forget things. Had to make sure to sneak some of those greens in there so my heart didn't give out.... I however did not indulge in the chips and salsa that were there since I didn't want to come off as a pig..... So instead (as I forgot to mention previously), I took the queso and poured it over some pulled pork because that's what needed to happen at that moment.... Boom! For the grand finale, we had this banana pudding dessert that literally put me over the top. If I could openly cuss on this platform, I genuinely would.... It was absolutely orgasmic. That's right, you read that correctly. I don't know what they put in that thing, but to call it amazing would be an understatement. Pretty sure I blacked out at some point while finishing my bowl of dessert. As you can read, I was not a fan of any of the food in any way shape or form.(Sarcasm ...) I look forward to going back, but I will need to wait until I awake from this painful food coma I've been fighting off since the ending of the World Cup match watching USA beat the breaks off of Bosnia with one man down. Much love on the food and I happily dedicate this extra fat fold on my stomach and the 8lb weight gain to AJ's BBQ.

I got a brisket and half rack of ribs, with corn bread, greens, and beans. My friend got the elote cup and that was equally as amazing! Everything was excellent! It's absolutely beautiful, complete with its own bar and plenty of seating for those perfect evenings out. Casa Vega is famous for its margaritas and classic Mexican American comfort food. It's not outright authentic, but it's nostalgic and hasn't changed for decades. Definitely get the combination so you can try a little bit of everything. Like I said earlier, For me Casa Vega is all about nostalgia. The familiar flavors, the atmosphere, and those feel good vibes that keep people coming back year after year. It's a staple because we all grew up with it so if you're someone here dining for the first time, keep that in mind. I ordered the Chile Verde burrito and it left a lot to be desired, it's almost like they refuse to use salt of any kind? Just completely bland, flavorless. I also asked if they could make it spicy but the waiter let me know they don't have anything in the kitchen that would be spicy besides some jalapeños, which I agreed to. Still, so very very bland and flavorless. Not to be facetious, but you could honestly go to Taco Bell and get better "Mexican" food.... That's how awful it is here. Two stars because the waiter was friendly and the service was decent. Go to Salsa and Beer for a proper Mexican meal, bye.
