Decent spot. The burgers weren't greasy at all and the bun to patty ratio was perfect, which honestly feels rare these days. So many places either give you a massive bun with a tiny patty or stack on too much meat where you can barely eat it. I got the double burger and it was the perfect size. Filling without feeling over the top. My wife got the single and was completely happy with it too. We scheduled the delivery for about an hour and a half later, but got a call saying the order was already ready more than an hour early. We asked if they could remake it fresh closer to when the driver was actually supposed to pick it up. Not a huge deal in the end since the food still turned out great. Even through delivery, everything held up surprisingly well. The burgers still tasted fresh and weren't soggy by the time we got them. Food was plain and dry asked for no tomato and of course they put tomato. Fries were plain and no flavor at all no seasoning salt or regular salt. Don't think I will be coming back here. The Big Fat is a local favorite and for good reason. Their food tastes like it was made from home. I like the steak sandwich. It was seasoned well, cooked well yet soft. The service is great. The owner takes pride in serving good food. The shop is small, but perfect for taking out and enjoying it at a park. read more

Came here for lunch while out running errands and I was very pleasantly surprised by this place I was very pleased with my meal and the service was great Javier took my order and he was very friendly and told me this place has been open since 1961 all I'm saying is open that long and survived Covid you know this place is good. The food is decent and the portions are solid, but everything really lacked seasoning. I had a burger, onion rings, and fries, and honestly, every single item needed salt. The quality of the ingredients is there, but the flavors were just flat because of the lack of salt. Ok why is the pastrami so fire? I came here and thought it would be an interesting place to check out. I got the double bacon cheeseburger and a pastrami sandwich with chili cheese fries. Be wary of placing pick up orders through Yelp. Ordered dinner for pick up, showed up and they told me that they had given the food to someone who had come in. Grubhub said the order was still open, but the restaurant insisted that the food was already gone. They insisted it wasn't their fault and they couldn't do anything. Evidently it was my fault for ordering there. If you order in person you might get the food you paid for. read more

Came here on a whim as we were driving by and saw a big sign that said $7.99 special. Burger with cheese, fries and small soda. We pulled in and ordered two of the special and wow we were not disappointed. They offer a variety of foods from American to Mexican and we did not try that but we did see alot of people came in to order the Mexican so we'll have to try it later. The burger was on the smaller side but for the price you really can't ask for more. It was so good and the fries were super crispy. So my friend and I went here about 3pm yesterday, it wasn't busy at all. We just got out the gym and wanted to get a burrito with some carne asada for protein. We go here to try it and ordered 2 carne asada burritos which came out to $29. There was less than a teaspoon of meat in the burrito and I asked for sides of green salsa and the guy told me it was in the burrito,l. I love salsa so I got one extra side of it anyway. After eating the burrito it was less the a teaspooon of carne asada. Zero salsa inside. And Hardly any cheese. Mostly was just beans rice and tortilla. Horrible!!! What a waste. Will definitely not be back to this place. Either the guy at the counter straight up lied, or the chef was not following instruction. UPDATE: My hubby wanted Big Fat tonight. I told him if he brings it home, I'll divorce him!! I had to use my husband's account because my Yelp isn't working, but I am throughly DISGUSTED by the way the owner treats his loyal customers. There are two brothers. Javier is very cool, but the other guy who used to be the cook with his son, now works the register and is sooo RUDE!! Every time I go there it's a crap shoot. Several times I've ordered a double bacon cheeseburger and NO bacon! Now they have a young kid grilling the burgers that has ZERO personality and NO clue. And these are the kids that want $20 an hour??? I told him NO dressing/mayo so the bun doesn't get soggy, so instead he decides to put 15 wet pickles on it! The bun was so wet it just fell apart, and I couldn't eat the bottom bun. I showed the rude owner (can't remember his name) a video of it, and he said "Well, that could have been caused by something else". Wait, WHAT??? Did I take a fire hose to my burger???? I told him I wasn't asking for any refund or anything but just wanted to show him what I DIDN'T want and to make sure he put the pickles on the side. Then he says, "Out of all my customers, you're the only one that has problems". I said, "So, it's my fault you don't put on what people order and pay for??" How is that MY fault?? What you're REALLY mad about is that I complained"! Then he handed me the burger just wrapped in yellow paper, NO bag, and of COURSE, no pickles on the side tells me to go! I would say the place wasnt real bad it just wasnt real good. Also I didnt like that my burger bun was wet and soggy on the outside, it felt gross. Didn't know what it was. When you're a hole in the wall spot. You have to be on point. This place could easily be a winner but they just dont love what they do, its just a job and you can taste that lack of care in their food. I go to the stand and get a $9 burger made my way (consistent every time) and it blows this little place out the water. They probably need new ownership. If you put some love on the food and take it serious they might have had something. At this point they're just trying to make it through the day. They could care less if you eat there or not and the food tastes like it. One star for just getting by on the skin of their teeth. read more

I came here expecting to relive my teenage years with a burger and fries and it did not disappoint! The only thing missing from this trip down memory lane was the old pinball machine they used to have... You will find no better "burger stand burger" than the big fat burger. It's a classic. No froo froo sauces or artisanal bun... no sir. This is a classic burger fried up hot and served with crisp lettuce and tomato. Just delicious! This is a great joint. We ordered cheeseburgers and bacon cheeseburgers, and they were great! Super fresh, big, juicy, all in all great tasting! The service was excellent too. I'm only in town for a week and I dicovered this place. I wish I'd know about it when I used to live just a few blocks away. Chili dog with onions and cheese was perfect: plenty of everything, but not actually impossible to eat with your hands. The carne asada tacos were fantastic. I ordered another round of both, just in case I didn't get to go back. I did get to go back though, and got a bacon cheeseburger with added jalapenos, which they, awesomely, grilled without my asking. The meat was smokey and cooked all through, but still juicy and not overdone. Plenty of just right bacon. The guy at the counter was friendly and helpful, and the cook tossed in a word from the back as well. Didn't try it, but they also make asada fries, which sounds great, breakfast dishes, teriyaki, and chicken and club sandwiches. With a little more neon, this could be that cool fusion place in Blade Runner that ended up on the cutting room floor. I also thought the giant Tommy's chili dog sign looming over Big Fat was a nice touch. As was the nearby Loyal Order of the Moose lodge Graffiti Watch sign covered in graffiti I guess I'm going to have to leave town so I can go here again the next time I'm in town. read more
