Fried platter with mozzarella sticks, zucchini, and onion rings. Comes with marinara and ranch.

This restaurant is great! The service is great! The food tastes great! The inside is nice and inviting, with cozy booths. It's a nice, regular, American style, cafe/dinner serving good quality food. Definitely will come here whenever I want American style breakfast. Definitely would get the ribeye again. The country fried steak is really good too. The marinated steak and egg breakfast is good too!

Delicious! I came here once before and it was good, and this time it was no different. Service is wonderful, quick and attentive. We ordered a few items and I really enjoyed the ribeye, chicken fried steak, and the onion rings. The house made salsa was good too with a nice kick of spice. Cute and cozy diner offering solid breakfast. It is attached to the outside of the bowling alley and there's ample parking.

Every time I look up breakfast spots, this place always pops up on my list, and I finally decided to check it out over the weekend. I ordered the chicken and waffles and the corned beef hash, which is made in-house. While I appreciate the effort behind the corned beef hash, it left a little to be desired, and I probably won't order it again. It came with a side of hashbrowns, toast, and scrambled eggs, but overall, it was just mid. However, the real star of the show was the CHICKEN & WAFFLES! OMG! I asked the waitress if she recommended this, and she insisted I get it, with a tip to make sure I eat the waffles while they were hot. When the dish arrived, the waffle was perfect--crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, I added just the right amount of butter and syrup. I was in heaven! The fried chicken was seasoned and fried to perfection, with a crispy exterior. I received four generous pieces of chicken. The chicken and waffles is definitely a MUST-HAVE. I will be going back! A few side notes: the restaurant is located inside a bowling alley, the decor is a bit dated. If you need to use the restroom, it's outside the restaurant area (in the bowling area.) There's ample parking since it shares a lot with the neighboring hotel. I also received fantastic service from Kelly--she was bubbly, friendly, and extremely helpful. She's a gem! If you see her, tell her I said hi!

Village Cafe is a simple, food mostly from scratch, restaurant. Not fancy, but delicious each time. Hubby looks forward to a simple cheeseburger and crinkle fries and I enjoy their salads with crisp greens, Persian cucumbers, olives and house dressing. When I have tried the lamb/beef gyro I have found it very yum! The soft pita and fresh tzatziki sauce is a real treat on "cheat day". I hope Village Cafe sees an increase in business now that Winnetka Bowl has closed their "snack bar". These are nice people, running a nice business. Come try VC today. Cheers! "CC"

It has been several years since I had eaten here. Last time I ate here was I think in the 90's when the cafe's menu had some Asian dishes. I remember ordering Spam, eggs, and rice here years ago. Anyways, I ordered the fried chicken and waffles here because I noticed there were tons of positive reviews about it so I had to try it. Chicken was good. The waffle was awesome. Nice and fluffy on the inside and a bit crispy on the outside. Service was perfect!

Attached to the Winnetka Bowl which is located on a very large property in the Valley, I entered and ordered the tasty vegetable omelette with crispy hash browns and coffee. $16 plus coffee, tax, and tip. The buttered toasted bread was a treat and the coffee was good. Through a door in the cafe the massive modern bowl with 32 lanes beckons you to try your luck at a perfect game. And lest you forget, bowling is the most popular sport in the USA.

Super Salad Supreme - skimpy and left me sick to the stomach
Winn H.

I discovered The Village Cafe after looking for coffee shops around Woodland Hills and discovered that this location isn't quite a coffee shop but a general diner. I would describe this as a local restaurant where would could expect a typical American meal. What wasn't typical was that it was connected to the bowling alley - a pleasant surprise. I was torn between an omelet and a sandwich but ultimately settled on the Super Salad Supreme with bleu cheese dressing. I tried to eat healthier, and since I was on a time crunch, I ended up getting it to go - and I'm glad I did! It took about 5 minutes for me to place my order, and the salad was finished within the next five minutes. I was later told that there was actually no bleu cheese and settled for ranch. Although it was a quiet Monday afternoon, the waitress spent another ten minutes chatting with the cook and left my food in the kitchen when it was already ready. I almost ordered a coffee, and I'm glad I didn't! The salad to go came with a generous amount of ranch - the good stuff, not watery! I enjoyed being able to dress the salad to my liking, and the food overall tasted good. It was a rather skimpy salad, but a few hours later I felt sick to the stomach. I'm still not sure why that happened, but for a $19 (with tip / tax) salad, I am unlikely to return for those reasons. Other than the food and wait time, the waitress was overall friendly, homely, and inviting.

I highly recommend the spinach & feta omelette. Great taste and reasonably priced. The waitresses are very friendly.

When you come in, it's refreshing to see the open space. It's clean with plenty of seating whether you want to sit and dine and work or head to the back to just chill. I got their iced dirty chai. I've been craving one lately and it hit the spot. They had sandwich samples so tried their turkey sandwich. Also I got to meet the owner and he was nice enough to let me try a sample of their chocolate chip cookie which it had sea salt and made with sourdough. It was also warmed up for me. I can taste the combination of the cookie and it was really good. I would get this because it's different and it works. The owner is really nice and explained how they came here to the valley and have other locations in Palmdale. I hadn't even asked about the coffee cake -- or even known it existed. The gentleman at the counter told me they were out, but another one was baking if I cared to have a slice. Curious, I ordered one. With my Cortado -- an admirable balance of espresso and frothy cream -- I found a table. Soon, he came by to confirm I'd get my slice. A young lady followed, letting me know the cake wouldn't be ready for a while. I told her it was no problem; I had work to do. I opened my laptop and became so engrossed that I didn't hear my name called. Another lucky customer got that elusive coffee cake -- it vanishes the moment it hits the counter. Mario was the third person to check on me. He told me another batch was in the oven, but I was leaving soon. He apologized and offered any pastry on the house, particularly recommending the chocolate chip cookies he had baked himself. I accepted. When he set down the cookie, I asked if I could order an Americano. He returned with that as well, on the house. The cookie was huge, freshly baked, loaded with chocolate chips and just enough walnuts to stay out of the way of the gooey goodness. I broke off a piece -- soft, warm, the chocolate chips melting with every bite. You cannot have a better one. There was a steady stream of clientele representing the diversity of the neighborhood. The atmosphere is friendly, cheerful, and genuinely welcoming -- the neighborhood is enriched by it. Impressed does not begin to cover it -- the people, the Cortado, the cookie, a chocolate chip one at that. Buen provecho.

Parking was easy to find, they have a lot and there are several surrounding free parking lots. The cafe inside was clean and well designed with several tables - by the time we got out drinks, a table had cleared up and we sat down. We ordered the matcha einspanner and the hojicha einspanner. The matcha was high quality, very rich and strong. The cream added a nice sweetness, but it wasn't overall sweet or bitter either. I love hojicha and always recommend it as an alternative to matcha or coffee at cafes. The hojicha here was chocolatey and smooth, absolutely amazing! Very well balanced and well made drinks - and they are absolutely photogenic as well ;) Highly recommend!

They have a small and limited parking lot behind the coffee shop as well as some street parking open on Reseda and Dearborn. There's a Trader Joe's and Chili's across the street with more parking as well and I have parked behind Dave's Hot Chicken and the Habit and there is always space there. Ambiance: This coffee shop is quaint and feels a little cramped when you finally get inside and through the line. There is a counter top with some chairs as well as one couch and desk where one can study although, I personally never would. It's clean and bright with a minimalistic vibe inside. With it being cramped, you basically just get in, order, and get out. It's rare to find seating inside and it can feel overwhelming just sitting there trying to enjoy your drink with so many people around. Drinks: We've been there multiple times and you can always expect the same- mid, slightly overpriced, oh- getting some post purchase clarity. But it's the type of slightly regretful decision we continue to make every time. We've gotten the matcha einspanner on several occasions, vanilla iced latte, caramel latte, and the most disgusting Americano known to man. Whether you get the dark or light roast Americano, you will not run away from the burnt and bitter flavor. Service: The line moves quickly, they take your order and get you in and out without a long wait. They also offer stamp cards, buy 10 get the 11th free. What a steal! Gimme 10 more! Overall: All this to say, it's oddly grown to be a valley staple, and represents some bordering LA values- overpriced, overhyped, but for some reason addicting in the fact you always seem to go back. I would say 3.5 but it doesn't allow it, so I'm feeling generous today.

The lady at the counter suggested the Turkey, but once my wife saw the Mortadella offering, it was a closed deal. Their sandwiches are made in house, built with good proportions.
