Ube truffle

I've been to the reseda blvd location many many times but my first time trying this new location. I was in the plaza for the Mexican restaurant for tacos on cjnco de mayo and finally decided to stop in. The display with the baked goods was sadly barren but nearly 4pm guess they sold most of them. I did manage to get one one cheesecake and one truffle and it came out to over $11. It was gloomy so I wasn't feeling a cold drink. Maybe next time. Service was nice and quick. I just really dislike this plaza. The parking sucks. Not a great area. They probably do get good business from the local schools though. In the end, I still support cafe 86 as a whole and the delicious delicious ube goodness

Love this place ! Three dollar daily drinks are the best deal in the valley. Come support this small business - you won't regret it

a nice place for halo halo ( Filipino shaved ice). It is reminiscent of my growing up favorite, not too sweet but very refreshing. The service is excellent and we will definitely be back..

Dry and bland. What happened to you cafe 86

I've been going to Northridge Cafe 86 for a couple of years now, so I was excited when I saw there was one closer to me. Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment. I ordered a Kuki Monsta, Ube butter bar and an ube flan cupcake. The drink looked like cement and honestly tasted like it looked. The cupcake was extremely dry. Hard pass.

Nutella Coffee

One of my go-to cafes for their Nutella latte. The service is always so quick and efficient. It's located in a small strip mall on Topanga. They have a huge variety of drinks to order from. I definitely would recommend checking it out!

I've been a longtime fan of Cafe 86 and have visited their Northridge location countless times. So when I heard they were opening a new spot in Canoga Park, I couldn't have been more excited--it's such a treat to have them now in my own neighborhood! Cafe 86 offers an incredible variety of drinks, from milk teas and milkshakes to slushes and halo-halos. But what truly sets them apart are their pastries. If you're a fan of ube, this is your paradise, Think ube cookies, brownies, tres leches, and so much more. We ordered some Thai milk teas and ube milk teas, and were lucky enough to sample a few of their pastries. They were absolutely delicious. Welcome to the neighborhood, Cafe 86! So glad to have you here.

Summer can be brutal with the heat, and one of my favorite ways to cool down is by heading to Cafe 86. It's the perfect spot for refreshing drinks, pastries, and Asian-inspired sweets. Their Upside Down Halo-Halo is hands down my go-to--it's unique, fun, and delicious. I also love their Grilled Cheese for something savory, and when I'm craving sweets, the Ube Tres Leches never disappoints. The menu has plenty of choices like Halo-Halo, Mais Con Hielo, and Matcha slushies--perfect treats for hot days. Prices are very reasonable too. Even with larger sizes, you'll rarely spend more than $20. The staff is friendly, the space is open and comfortable, and the atmosphere is casual yet inviting. If you're looking for something simple but amazing, especially if you love ube, corn, or traditional Asian flavors, Cafe 86 is definitely the spot to be.

i'm so excited that this location is close to me as i've been visiting the northridge location for a few years now. it's a much smaller space in a smaller plaza, but the service and quality is great! i love their unique ube filled menu of drinks and desserts. i visited with a desperate need of a "pick me up" so i ordered the iced nutella latte. it was strong and tasty. i also naturally have an insane sweet tooth, so i got the ube tres leche! sooooo good. will definitely continue visiting this location!

Upside down halo halo on their ordering site

Loved the upside down halo halo! Though wished they put more of the mixins of coconut jellies etc . I don't believe I received any jackfruit in mines. Though I'll make sure if it place the order online to state it in the comment section. But overall, definitely worth getting again!! Pro tip: they do not take Amex!

Pandan Matcha with oatmilk

I remember the first time having cafe 86 while I was in culinary school in Pasadena back in 2009. I'm so glad there are multiple locations now and so happy that some are in the San Fernando Valley! My absolute favorite thing so far is the new pandan matcha drink, I haven't had it hot and I probably will try that once the weather cools down, but it tastes just like Buko pandan without all the fixings and i loveee it. The matcha is subtle but the star was the pandan flavor for me anyways. I'm not a big fan of halo halo but their Americanized version is perfect for this kind of weather! The upside down halo halo is better than the original I think! I've had the desserts and some are better than others, I just wish they made them in house instead of a commissary. Service at this specific location is always a 1000/10 I've been to other locations but this one is the most engaging and you can tell they care about everyone that walks in. I was sitting there taking pics and every single person was greeted and every single person was said goodbye to. The graffiti on the wall is so fun and there is plenty of seating available and even cute mini Kareoke machines on each table, which may be annoying to some, but that's the essence of Filipino culture. Karaoke was such a cute touch to this place. All in all I give a good 8.5/10

Halo Halo Bread Pudding + Icecream

We initially visited this place because of the ube desserts, and thankfully we were not let down at all! A pleasant surprise was the wide selection of delicious drinks they have as well. We ordered quite a spread, but forgot to take pictures of most things before we devoured it all What deliciousness we ordered: - {9.5/10} Strawberry Calamansi: refreshing, fruity, not overly sweet, topped with freeze dried strawberries, and the best strawberry drink I've had to this day (I would sell my soul for this) -{9/10} Cali Mango Slushie: smooth, almost milky like, very delicious and natural tasting (like drinking a liquid, PERFECT mango) - {8/10} Upside down Halo Halo: flavor perfect, textures worked very well, sweet but not overly so (though not a fan of crunching on ice, personally) - {9.5/10} Ube Tres Leches: Moist (not soggy), just so perfect - {8.5/10} Halo Halo Bread Pudding (not warmed up) w/Ube Icecream: really good texture even when 'cold', comforting flavor, overall delicious and a solid dessert (though family has conflicting views) Safe to say we will forever be coming back!! Seriously though, such a nice place. The employees were so helpful and friendly, and they even had cute mini tabletop games on each table. P.S. Go!
