This is clearly a local's hangout spot. I love me a fun diner, and Henri's did not disappoint. The interior looks like three places that merged. One side looks like a former store, the middle looks like a diner, and the end looks like a converted bar. Together, they make one cozy but spacious diner with good eats and decent prices. Portions are on the larger side. Plenty of people ordered their own plates, but I opted to share one and that was more than enough. The food can be heavy. The servers were sweet and efficient, and our food came out pretty quickly considering it was almost full inside and it was a Saturday mid morning. Overall, it was a nice place to get a good meal. There were plenty of people at the bar and plenty of booths taken. I expect this will continue to be a neighborhood favorite for a long while. Metered street parking and small parking lots are available in the neighborhood.

I give this 3.7/ 5. This is my first here although they have been around for sometime now. There were 4 of us and the table that we were seated is a little tight for 4 people and the table is not that wide either and not much of a leg room. Hospitality 5/5, amazing staff and very helpful. The place is clean and good lighting. Tuna melt with onion rings 3/5 it was ok. The bread was a normal size cut with in half. The tuna spread was missing a seasoning, so it was just ok. And the onion rings were heavily battered 3/5. Ham with eggs 3/5 the ham was a little dry. The pancake with sausage was a bit better 3.5/5.. They need to tweak up their menu a better as other places have done so. Parking is by luck as they only have few spots and metered street lights parking is another option if the area is not busy. Overall the food was ok experience but the service was amazing!

The service is quick, lot of choices available. Also, if you have dietary issues (I'm spice deficient), they can modify some dishes for you. So grateful the hostess was able to make suggestions in such a short moment. Chomping down on the John's special & my road buddy nibbled the Spanish omelet. Always a fan of neighborhood laid back eateries. This spot is great, whether with or without having to worry about reservations and the limited access of bigger venues.

Towards top of the plate black texture broken it down was squishy in texture and smelled funky

Good was good but I noticed towards the end a big like textured body on my plate was disgusted after that ! I called the server over and they offered to take the meal out my bill but only gave me half of the meal it's sad that I know they didn't believe me and I even have a feeling they thought I might have planted that on there but whatever that's the reason why I'm leaving them bad review lies and kept saying it was burnt spinach I didn't order spinach on my plate then they said the cooks didn't wash the dishes right and it was from the griddle but the texture was not a crispy texture here's the picture shame !

    Chicken Fried Steak Special

Stopped in yesterday for my first time and I had the biggest Chicken Fried Steak that I've ever had, and one of the better ones I've ever tasted. Henri's is an old school classic LA diner in the valley with great service and fair prices. They have a small free parking lot in the back, but it was full when I arrived so I had to find neighborhood parking. There was about a 20 minute wait when I arrived, but I was dining solo so I took a seat at the counter and was able to sit immediately when I arrived. My server was extremely polite and was extremely fast with the coffee refills. It's quite large on the inside and they have many different booths and tables as well as a large counter, which is where I sat. For my meal I chose the Chicken Fried Steak Special, which is a larger version of the one that they have on the menu. It was honestly a giant sized chicken fried steak and had a side of hashbrowns and toast and two eggs. It was honestly delicious and a very large meal that I couldn't even finish. I had a strong cup of coffee on the side all for $25 so it was a very fairly priced and filling meal. I would suggest to anyone and would say that this is one of my favorite diners in the valley.

Came here with some family and I feel like this place has some drawbacks but also positives as well. The place has that comfort feeling that of a diner. There are what seems like three different sections with a mix of tables and booths. The food here was okay, we got a mix of omelettes and chilaquiles. It was good, but nothing special. The drawback was the service. The place seems highly understaffed. It was crowded but it seemed like there was only one server for almost the entire restaurant when we went. It took about 30 minutes to get our order. Though our food came out not too long after that at least. Overall, if you are in the area, I would try this, but if you are not, I would not make the effort.

Niko SAVED my life. I walk in and I was so hungry... my stomach was growling and I was to starve. I walk in with my boyfriend and then glorious Niko came up to us and noticed how raveness I was and even though the restaurant was EXTREMELY busy (parties of 10's and birthday dinners) she got us seated within 2 minutes. She asked us if we wanted drinks and then brought them out immediately. She was so kind... she is the sweetest girl ever and WOW her gorgeous and warm smile! She is so caring, amazing, talented, beautiful, kindhearted and skilled. Someone else came and the SECOND he sat down she asked him what he wanted to drink and went to go get it... she was so amazing. Right after she finished cleaning a table she went to go assist us. Nobody give us better service than Niko. She even brought us straws when we didn't ask just out of the kindest of her heart. I was having the BEST meal of my ENTIRE life (special 1) and she checked on us every 5 minutes to make sure it was good. My boyfriend got the chicken teriyaki and started tearing up... he said "this has been the best meal of his life... I am one with Henris." I love you Niko this serves has been beyond amazing. She also made sure EVERYONE got their orders taken. She is so great and amazing. Even when customers were being rude and reckless turns her she remained calm and kind to all. Nikos warm smile stays on no matter what happened because she thinks kindest is deserved for everyone. When my friend didn't have a fork he asked Niko for a fork and she got one in less and a second for him... I have never felt this loved. Thank you Niko. She refills our drinks quickly, always has a warm smile on her face and gives the best service I have ever seen, because of Niko Henris is my new comfort spot. She is constantly refilling our drinks and placing them us our table with great elegance. After I finished eating she gracefully and amazingly took my dirty plate... it made my table look so clean and spacious again. After taking our places she cleaned our table by taking all our wrappers and napkins, she is so amazing and helpful. Thank you Henri and most importantly thank you Niko

We managed to come early around 9am this Sunday, so we only had a ~10 minute wait. I've heard good things about Nat's so I was very excited to try here. It definitely exceeded expectations! My partner got the Guadalajara Skillet with over easy eggs, it had a good amount of heat as well as nice crispy texture from the hash browns. I had the Lox Benedict, which was delicious! The hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy. Finally, we got the Howie's waffle to share, which was the perfect amount of crunchy and came with assorted fruit and maple syrup. The waitress offered us this amazing housemade apricot jam to go with the toasted English muffins, which I think may be the best jam I've ever had. Unfortunately they were out of jars today, but I will definitely be back to buy a jar in the near future.

Since it was going to be a long wait, my wife and daughter waited in the car and I asked the hostess if it was cool if I sat down by the bar area and order a coffee which I plan to pay for. I was told by the hosts that that area is first come first serve so she didn't see a problem with it so I sat there. One of the gentleman that works there asked if I wanted anything to drink so I ordered a coffee. Moments later, while drinking my coffee the lady that's assigned to that section asked if I wanted to order anything or if I needed a menu which then I informed her that I was waiting for a table and was told it was cool if I sat there while I drank a coffee. She then rudely stated in Spanish. "I DON'T MAKE MONEY THAT WAY" then storms off. The lady starts complaining to her coworkers and they start looking my way. They then inform the guy that always wears a black shirt and slick back hair who I believe is a manager and he comes over and explains that this section is for walk ins that plan to sit and eat here and am welcomed to wait outside or in the waiting area.I informed him it wasn't a problem but thats the reason I asked from the beginning. I also mentioned we drove from Simi Valley to come here and there were many other restaurant options but I told him how the waitress treated me and he said he would talk to her. I told him I would pay for the coffee and I would leave. He said don't worry about the coffee. I didn't even finish my coffee I set it down and left. After coming here for years with family, friends, even referring this place to others I WILL NEVER COMEBACK AGAIN. We made our way to the Country Café in Chatsworth and of course got great hospitality and food.

Nothing succeeds like excess. In fact, most people will need a take out box for one less meal to cook. Delicatessen means delicate eating in German, but at a Jewish American Delicatessen, the emphasis is on the Eating, which I am not complaining. 1) I requested an off menu item of having a Reuben sandwich where half is Corned Beef and the other Pastrami. Brent's Reuben has warm Sauerkraut, grilled Rye bread, melted Swiss Cheese, 1,000 Island dressing. Thinly sliced, multi-layered Mound of Pastrami is a bit on the dry side. Curing doesn't create a deep meaty Umami and spicing is present but attenuated. The Corned Beef is moister with bit more Umami & plush, thin multi-layered red colored meat. I have to say the Pastrami at Langer's is cured more intensely to bring out a deep Umami as well as more complex and complementary spicing of especially warm spiced cloves that adds aromatic richness. Brent's Pastrami doesn't seem to reach that kind of apotheosis. 1b) I asked for the steak fries to be fried two minutes longer for a crisper finish which was honored. Not much in way of that distinctive potato earthiness, but acceptable. 1c) Coleslaw is mayonnaise based, watery, bland, but a good cruciferous, fibrous veggie to add more fibre, healthful phytochemicals to counter the meat overload even though it isn't flavourful 2) Carrot Cake is closer to a delicate, dense, moist spice cake. A slice is enormous since it is cut from an extra tall cake studded with crushed walnuts and a cream cheese like not too sweet frosting. At $14 it could feed 4 people. Service is fine. They take your order and run with it. Bit of tunnel vision where it may be a bit hard to flag them down. But the job does get done. Overall 3+ stars

They must have recently completed an interior/exterior renovation finally, it's about time! One of the reasons why I was ordering is cause I couldn't stand being inside. My experience yesterday dining-in was a better environment. However, the place was practically empty. I'm pretty sure I know the reason why. It cost me $69 for a half sandwich soup combo, and half a pastrami sandwich with a side of chopped liver, and a hot tea. The tea plate was very thoughtfully appointed: hot water container, cup, honey, lemon, and a good quality teabag, served on a stone plate. My half pastrami sandwich was quite divine, the Ryebread was very fresh, but there was a little bit too much fat on the pastrami. The coleslaw was a little bit on the older side. And the chopped liver matched the expression on the waitresses face, it also was served without any bagel chips, crackers, or rye bread, nor was I asked if I wanted any of those items as typically you spread chopped liver on something! Their napkins are literally like using rough bad paper towels. I believe their utensils are oversized. My guest was extremely doted on, the waitress said that she was making it a half sandwich and soup combo, but I don't think that's what I was charged. How can two half pastrami sandwiches, a bowl of lentil soup, and a small scoop of chopped liver with a cup of tea come to $69??? My experience coming here in all my years is that the place was extremely packed- any time I came. Even my next-door neighbor who lived on the block for over 50 years would come here weekly. They used to have almost the best matzoh ball soup on the planet, not so much anymore they've changed the formula. The matzoh balls used to have flavor and be soft. I make a mean matzoh ball soup, and when I'm not feeling well, I used to buy it from here to nurse me back-to-health- Nature's remedy. But not so much anymore. their chicken soup had become the price of liquid gold. The UGLY: this is an older Edited Review unposted from 4 yrs ago: This review is specifically for the so-called manager that refused service to me (who knows maybe he's not there anymore?) this morning after I had already paid for the order. When I told him I would be leaving a bad review he said he would be removing it!! I've been a Customer at this restaurant for over (28 years). I placed an order through the UberEAT app to be picked up at the store for my lunch today. Despite having a receipt that the items were paid for there was no order for me to pick up at the restaurant. When I asked to place another order as I was running late for work, I needed my lunch, the manager was going to charge me more money than I had paid on the app!!! And then finally told me that he's not placing the order for me that I can do it through the app!! He also refused to give me his name. Hopefully that person doesn't work there anymore. If so, buyer beware, stick to ordering directly with the restaurant to save yourself a nightmare!!!! this guy, if he's still there, sent a 32 year old customer away from the store without any lunch and made her late for work!!!!!!!!

Total Reverse Catfish - in the best way…read more As a lifelong Valley girl, I'm going to be completely honest: I wasn't expecting much from this shopping strip location. I thought it'd be a tiny hole-in-the-wall, but **Main Kitchen** completely blew me away. It's actually a huge, vibrant corner space (looks like 3 to 6 combined spots) covered in colorful paintings. The atmosphere is immaculate. Plus, as an elder Millennial girly, the playlist was hitting *so* right--it was 9:00 AM and we were jamming to music straight off my own Spotify Wrapped. The food is a total "reverse catfish" because it is way more visually stunning and delicious than the website photos let on. It just seemed like a lot of the things were housemade, and you can really taste the quality in everything: * **Chicken & Waffles:** They didn't have any bone-in chicken today, so they actually served me the boneless chicken breast (which I think originally goes with the chicken and pancakes). But honestly? If you can substitute it for the boneless breast, DO IT. Way better, no messing around with bones, and hello, protein goals! It's a perfectly flattened, crispy chicken breast served over a waffle sprinkled with bacon bits. They added a little drizzle of maple syrup and what seemed to have a little bit of a thing like peach bits--I'm not 100% sure because I didn't give it enough time to sit on the plate to find out, I was just eating it all! It was so delicious. * **Tiramisu French Toast:** My friend and I literally had to pause and give it a moment of silence. We were just in absolute awe. * **Chilaquiles:** My friend is a total chilaquiles connoisseur, and she declared theirs the *best she has ever had*. To top it all off, the service was fantastic. Our server, Donovan, was so attentive and made sure we had absolutely everything we needed--we just really appreciated his great service! I believe this is a woman-owned small business, and the owner herself was actually the chef cooking for the morning! It is the ultimate spot for a Sunday morning brunch meetup or a big group. 5 out of 5 stars--I already can't wait to go back. Go visit Main Kitchen!
