So I give them a call and ask if maybe the orders got mixed up, what happened. My family and I have been coming to Lulu's since before I was born. In fact, they catered my 2nd birthday party. My dad is a huge fan of their broasted chicken. Had the Corned Beef and Eggs with side of Wheat Toast and regular coffee...one it's tasteless looks like a mush and two, it doesn't justify the cost. My friend got the Broasted Chicken with Potatoe Wedges and mushy veggies on the side. My parents had the Brisket Plate which was beyond smoky and Country Fried Steak which was over floured topped with chalky pastey gravy. The four dishes were very disappointing as we told lour feedback to our waitress which was to her surprise that two of the dishes were their "all-time favorites". I ordered the brisket sandwich with fries and coleslaw on the side. The coleslaw was pretty good. The sandwich had a lot of brisket, a bit over cooked, but still tasty. Am I the only one who didn't know what broasted chicken was? My dad said maybe it's a generational thing...well, I am here to report that their broasted chicken is BOMB! Their method of broasting keeps the chicken juicy (even the white meat was juicy!) while achieving a super crispy skin. So delicious. Loved the veggies and mashed potatoes the dinner was served with. My first visit to Lulu's was meeting up with girlfriends for Thursday night dinner. Our server, Sheila, was super efficient and friendly. My flatiron steak and veggie sides were as I expected, basic diner fare. My friends seemed to like their meals, which ranged from salads to basic pasta dishes. The restaurant needs a makeover, it's very sad looking and the decor is dated. It was slow, plenty of open tables in main dining area, but for some reason, they weren't able to accommodate the 6 of us anywhere except in the dingy bar area. The bar leaves a lot to be desired as well. Harsh lighting, cheap chairs. Zero atmosphere. No music, but we got to hear a lot of men cheering for Thursday Night Football. I've heard really great things about this place and I had to check them out. The first time I went, I got the Broasted Chicken with a bowl of Chili. The broasted chicken was amazing. Very tender on the inside and a nice crunch on the outside. I can't recall what my sides were. Now onto the chili.....The chili was great but I must warn you that you might need some Tums at the end of the night. Second time I got the Fish & Chips. Im pretty sure I have had Tilapia fish and chips and not know, but Lulu's makes it clear and I like their honesty. Im picky with fish and chips and these were great. breaded well and the fish was hot and moist. It came with french fries which had great seasoning on them that I've never tasted before. I would order again. My third time I ordered the Chicken Chipotle Wrap. It comes with avocado but I decided to have guacamole instead (try it). So much flavor and really a great meal. I would more call this a burrito wrap because it was huge. I had to take the other half home. It came with their homemade potato chips which are a treat of their own. Lulu's has taken the necessary steps to make sure that guest who wish to dine in are protected. Hand sanitizer stations every where. The servers are wearing their mask and whatnot. The servers are amazing and attentive to my needs. I enjoy the decor on the inside. It's close to the Van Nuys Airport and I believe an airline plant so there is a ton of aerospace pictures and memorabilia. I HATE to do this because I love the owners. I have been going to Lulu's (grew up around the corner) since the 1980s or so. I knew the Camorlinga brothers when they just worked here - long before they took over the joint. So it is quite distressing that I have to do this. I tried e-mailing them from their web site where it says they answer e-mails within 24 hours - usually sooner. It has now been over a week and no response. They could have avoided this review if someone just responded to me. All I wanted to do, as a friend, was to let them know what was in my club sandwich that I had delivered to me. I attached a picture of the tomato in my sandwich. I absolutely could not believe that an honorable chef would put this in a sandwich. Would this chef ever put this on a sandwich he was making for himself? I doubt it. If I was the owner of the restaurant and I was not aware of this, I would DEFINITELY want someone to tell me about it. That is all I was trying to do - as a friend. I do not want to give a "one-star" rating because I eat at Lulu's all the time and that would be hypocritical. However, this, to me, is just unacceptable. Upon entering was not greeted. I wonder off in the restaurant looking for my party. After 10 minutes located my party. After 5 minutes greeted by waitress to get my drink order I asked if their any drink specials. By the way sitting in the bar area with my back to the wall so when the waitress pointed to the wall I had to scoot to the end of the booth then to turn around still hard to see. We ordered our food waited 30 minutes. Our empty plates sat on the table and I position them at the end of the table stacked. Waitress walked away. Their was 1 guest appeared too intoxicated to be their & should have been given coffee or water instead of another beer. He was telling the bartender if she can give him food people haven't eaten. Bartender laughed & joked & played along then commented to him do you want me to dig in the trash to give you the food. Clearly he did not need another beer but food and coffee/water to sober him up. Food arrived and it was ok. Grilled vegetables had a funny taste. Waitress did not check on us throughout or meal so when we finished we sat for another 30 minutes while she talked & played with the drunk patron so I looked at her then she came to our table. read more

The sausages were I think put in the fryer and the rest of the food was mediocre.
