I got an email with a birthday reward: buy one entree, get one free. Great! I clicked through to the Website. Then clicked to claim the reward. It gave me a code. I called to place an order and mentioned the email and code. He said to bring the code when I picked up the food and paid. Went there, showed the code on my phone and was told it didn't have my name or birthdate and that I needed that and had to show ID. I explained that I got the email and clicked through the links. But apparently this code was no good without my name. How is this my problem??? I pulled up the email and showed it. The email had my name. I offered to show my ID. He said it was okay and added the discount. Then he wished me Happy Birthday 4 times. But that's meaningless when you treated me like I was trying to scam you. You sent me the email. I clicked through the links, so how did I do anything wrong? Also I ordered broasted chicken to go and the website says it comes with biscuits. I mentioned that when I ordered. They called me back and said it comes with bread, not biscuits. Not according to your website! They decided to give me the biscuits instead of bread. Maybe familiarize yourself with the customer experience side of things and learn the system from that side so that you can treat your customers better. If it comes with bread, update your website. If the birthday offer is supposed to include name and birth date, fix your system. The broasted potatoes were scorched, but the chicken and biscuits were delicious. read more

I remember driving by this restaurant so many times. It wasn't until the Pandemic hit, and I had no food, did I go and look for any place that would deliver to me. LULUS was the only one, at that hour ( this was at the beginning before McDonald's and your grandma were delivering everything). So when I saw they had my two favorite comfort foods. French Onion Soup. The huge kind, full of bread and so much cheese, you can't really call it a soup! And, Eggs Benedict. Something, I love. But is rarely made properly, that sauce, is tricky. Where has Lulu been all my life? The service staff are awesome, polite, good Sense of Humor, and all around really good. The menu, well I fell in love with everything on it. Breakfast all day is really kool and their hamburgers are made with 1/2 pound patties, (second half pound patty for $4). The food, oh my God, delicious in every aspect. I'm a big guy and can put away 2 main plated and an appetizer plate. Here at Lulu's though, I had the plate of Potatoe Boars (3 potatatoes cut in half and covered in cheeae) and then the Corn Beef Hash with eggs that came with country potatoes and biscuits and gravy. I'm full and think I might have to be wheeled out. The ambiance and decor was nostalgic. My dad worked for Northrup back in the 80's and 90's and seeing all the old military planes in pictures and models reminded me of my childhood and brought a smile and flood of great memories of my dad. I've been coming here since I was a little girl. I love coming here not only does it bring back great memories but I enjoy the atmosphere and food! I still order my favorite dish which is the Louisiana melt with those crispy fries! Yum! I sometimes get the delicious French onion soup. The wings are pretty good too! I get buffalo. My fiancé used to work for Helinet so I came to Lulu's to meet him for lunch often. Yes it's a diner but I love the plane decor and the service is always awesome! It kind of reminds me of Cheers where everyone remembers you and the same few people come in frequently. I am OBSESSED with their Italian Chopped Salad. The dressing is delicious, it's always so fresh and I love that they use shredded lettuce. Yummy!!! I've also had their jambalaya which is a delight. I love that they offer gluten free pancakes yet haven't had them, but I've heard they're incredible. They have a full bar and friendly service so it's a place I have enjoyed working from when he goes back to work and I'm by myself. If you are in the mood for some homemade comfort food, this place will not disappoint. Especially if your craving some homestyle fried chicken (Not Popeye's or KFC) head on over for their "breasted" chicken, which is what they are known for. It is delicious!!!!! The sour dough bread and butter they serve is also amazing. The bread is super fresh and served warm with a very generous tub of butter. We popped in on a Friday night over an hour before closing time and the place was nearly empty. Soon, we were the only guests. The waitress was friendly and polite but somehow got our order of "tap water" wrong and brought out iced tea. Oh, well, no big deal. One of the staff began mopping the dining floor with bleach while we were eating, so the entire place smelled strongly of bleach the whole time we were there. The food was perfectly okay and the prices in line for the kind of place it is, but I don't think I'll be back any time soon, if ever. read more

We just came from Lulu's, and I took 4 kids there and they all loved the food. 1st kid had the Bear Breakfast, 2nd kid had the salmon dinner, 3rd had fish and chips, 4th had the kid's burger (which was huge). Lulu's is a Diner Style Restaurant much like Denny's, IHOP, Carrow's Coco's, & Norm's. The only difference is Lulu's Diner is a PRIVATE Entity "Ma & Pop" Style Diner. Meanwhile Denny's, IHOP, Carrow's, Coco's, & Norm's are all Franchise Diners. Thing is from my experience of trying Franchise Restaurants versus Privately Own "Ma & Pop" Style Restaurants, Franchise Restaurants ALWAYS SUCK! Since Lulu's is Privately Own, they're pretty good. I went here recently on Xmas Eve. The last time I dined at Lulu's Diner was back in in the 1990's & I really liked Lulu's back then. Revisiting Lulu's Diner just last week on Xmas Eve 2021, bring back lots of good memories in the first time back in the 1990's. A good restaurant then & good news: a good restaurant still for the year 2021! My husband & I ordered fish. My husband order the Salmon, whereas I ordered the Tilapia. Meanwhile my son ordered the Xmas Special: Turkey Dinner. I tried them all, ALL DELICIOUS! Both fishes are SPOT ON!!! Most restaurant struggled with fish dish, where many fish dish ended up dry (cuz overcooked). Both the salmon & the tilapia my husband & I ordered were both cooked perfectly! No dryness! Kudos to you about that. Even my son's Turkey Holiday special plate was SPOT ON GOOD too!!! When it comes to Turkey, dryness was a huge common problem. But you guys of Lulu's did a great job in ensuring the Turkey is nicely moist & flavorful. All 3 dishes are also spot on with the flavor. Most restaurants have the issue of creating overly salty dishes. Your dishes of Lulu's Diner I ate thus far, are all PERFECT in flavor. Not too salty, just right!!! As I said earlier, I've been to Lulu's back in the 1990's, I commented it was good then. Now in 2021, I have to congratulate you guys Lulu's Diner for maintaining that restaurant goodness for many decades! Overall, great restaurant of the Lake Balboa Neighborhood. Definitely one of the best diners in the Valley, always a go-to whenever I'm in the neighborhood and craving chili fries. I've been going to Lulu's since I was a kid, and it's been consistently wonderful for decades at this point. I have a soft spot for a diner with a bar attached, so maybe I'm biased, but this place scratches an itch. Food is always on point and exactly what you'd expect -- all standard interpretations of diner fare with generous portions. They've even taken steps to "modernize" a little by way of their fun french fry baskets and foodservice acoutrements. Like with any diner, it's a great place for breakfast, a burger, sandwich, or anything in that all-American diner wheelhouse. I've never been let down by the Monte Cristo (so good, so heavy). Last time we were in, Vera L. took care of us, and I would like to make a point of saying she was a stand-out with a wonderful attitude and level of care. Thanks for the great service, Vera! I preface this by saying I've never had issues with the food or drinks, but overall it does sometimes feel a little trafficked -- meaning the attentiveness to cleanliness in the booths/windows/bathrooms could use a little love, but I think that's par for the course with any diner, so no love lost there. Nachos with steak and chicken are delicious. The chicken lenguine has gotten better over the years too! The French onion soup is a must. I just miss the sourdough dinner rolls they used to serve back in the day with the individual butter packets instead of the sliced, cold sourdough they gave us this time. Other than than, delivery was fast and the pasta was nice and hot. Oh and they answered the telephone right away unlike most restaurants now days.
