No idea if this whimsical name means anything in Korean. The place is tiny, barely enough room to squeeze in 2 nightstand-sized tables on each side of the door, with 2 stools at each. The window sill on each side of the door can double as benches but they are way too tall of the tables. Nevertheless, it's better than no table at all as this place is mainly for takeout's. We really appreciate the air conditioning and not having to eat on the street. Menu is simple -- rice bowls and kimbaps are the main offerings, plus a few sides such as fish cakes and banchan. For rice bowls there are 5 choices of protein: beef, pork, chicken, fried chicken, and fried tofu. "Chicken" is grilled chicken and "fried chicken" are the bite-size boneless chicken. We all picked small fried chicken rice bowls for $7. I am not sure the difference between $10 for large serving or $3 for extra chicken, but you do have these upgrade options. The spicy version simply adds drizzles of sweet chili sauce which I highly recommend. It's like something between General Tsao's and Orange chicken, but unlike Chinese dishes, the Korean spin comes with salad green which is both healthy and refreshing. Taste & serving size were both on point, and with the $7 price tag this is a steal. The same dish at a Korean food court such as Rice Boy would cost about $12. Highly recommended for a quick meal on the go.

My friend was super interested in coming to this restaurant. As he's seen it on Instagram a bunch of times we walked over and it wasn't get busy so we went ahead and ordered. I went for the beef and he went for the fried chicken. I asked specifically was it bulgogi beef and the lady stated yes (it really is not). It's beef that's been cooked without seasoning. And then theres marinade poured on top of the food afterwards. My friend said his chicken bowl was okay, but nothing to write home about. The salad was fairly fresh. So I ended up just eating the salad and beef togethe rice was inedible and mushy.

Can't go wrong with the bowls here. Prices are low for the amount you get. With salad and rice. The fried chicken has chunky, crispy and flavorful pieces. The container had to be kept open bec. couldn't close lid, also to keep crunchiness. Can make your orders spicy with the sauce they add, which we did for the pork and we liked it. Prepared kimbaps were on the counter but the squid was freshly prepared. Banchans are also sold in 3 sizes. Too bad there was no more fried anchovy bec. worth it at $5 for a pint-sized container. Will pass on the macaroni salad though. We got lucky getting the only 2 tables there (can seat 6-7 total) bec. the line got longer after. The food took a while to come out (they called out when orders were ready). A few people were standing indoors while waiting, so got crowded. Staff were busy but calm. No restrooms. Near Bowery train stop (Grand St) and a walk from Canal St stations.

Filling and flavorful bowls that are super affordable. The salad that this came with had a bright vinegar dressing which I loved and it was super refreshing to cut through the fattiness of the bulgogi. Rice underneath was fresh and everything came out super fast. You can sub the bulgogi with a bunch of other options and they sell other Korean staples here like kimbap. Highly recommend. Inside, there's two small tables to sit so not very suitable for very large groups.

I happened to come across the listing and saw they were around the corner from my hotel. I'm Korean and kimbap is a comfort food when I can find it. I got a veggie roll and a spicy pork roll. The rice was warm and perfectly soft. The seaweed wrap had a nice bit of sesame seed/oil. The spicy pork had a light bite, but your mileage may vary. I don't think something is spicy unless I break out in a sweat and no longer feel my lips. I would have gone back for more, but they were closed.

A must if you're in the area and looking to grab a quick bite to go- I read about this place on Yelp (thank you, fellow Yelpers!) and I will definitely be back. Store is very small- there's only 2 tables that would seat 6 people, so would definitely take out from here. Head up to the counter and place your order (the colorful chalkboard menu will be to your right). The staff were very efficient and I received my order within 5 minutes. I got the small Fried Chicken bowl ($7)- it's a lot of chicken for this price, and DELICIOUS chicken at that. The bowl was so stuffed that they had to Saran Wrap around it to keep it closed! Along with the rice and chicken, you get some fresh salad in the bowl along with their soy sauce based sauce. One feedback is while the sauce is delicious, no need to pour in so much- most of it was pooled at the bottom of the plastic bag. Cash only! I want to check out the kimbap and the beef bowl next time

I heard about Lululala on TikTok-- someone mentioned that it is owned by the same family behind nearby TofuTofu so I thought I would pass by and try them out. They mainly serve rice bowls, with other snacks like tteokbokki and kimbap available. I arrived on a Thursday afternoon, and while the shop space was a little small, there was enough room for two tables. However, the park is right down the street, so I would definitely recommend ordering takeout, as most others did. I decided on the small fried chicken bowl ($7) which was the perfect size for me. The portions are quite generous and it comes with a salad of cucumbers, carrots, tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage, and diced apples. I requested their spicy sauce, which honestly was not that piquant so I think it is tolerable by the spice-adverse as well.

Heard so much about this little takeout place so had to try it. I bought the 10 dollar fried chicken rice bowl and the 10 dollar mic bulgogi and pork rice bowl. You get a generous amount of protein in each bowl in addition they add some lettuce and a slice of tomato on the bottom. Chicken was pretty good but tad dry and same with the beef and pork. Will definitely come back again to try the other items on the menu. Place is super tiny and it is mainly a takeout place.

This is a really hidden place for cheap and tasty Korean food! Their rice bowls are a crazy good deal. I think the chicken rice bowl is the most worth it, it's $10 for a large bowl and they REALLY fill the bowl up. I also tried a large beef rice bowl for $12, and it was delicious. A small order of tteokbokki was $5 (a bit overpriced), but it was delicious nevertheless. I've heard good things about their kimbap and banchan. The staff are extremely friendly. It's a very small store, and there are only a couple of small tables, so be prepared to get your order to go.

I came to Lululala after seeing posts about how they give huge portion sizes for affordable prices. Unfortunately, they either changed that, gave me the wrong size, or social media has deceived me once again! My order of fried chicken rice bowl (large $10) was definitely not overflowing with chicken. I think the spicy sauce was needed, as the chicken was dry. The salad on the bottom was actually my favorite part of the dish. The menu is very affordable, but I was definitely disappointed.

Can't believe I'm so lalalate to trying this scrumptious spot. Prices & portions are good, service is nice, & the food is packed with comforting flavors. We got a few things to try, and will absolutely be back to try more! Fried Chicken ($7 small) - The chicken is perfectly fried, with a good crunch, and is suuuper tender and juicy. The spicy sauce wasn't too spicy, and had a hint of sweetness that paired well with the white rice & salad. Will be back for this - probably in a large because I can't get enough. Pork Kimbap ($9) - Good portion, but the price is a bit steep in my opinion. Nonetheless, flavors were light & tasted delish dipped in the tteokbokki sauce. Tteokbokki ($5 small) - Big, chewy tteok with some scallions in a sweet, rich, spicy sauce. Tastes pretty authentic to other tteokbokki dishes I've tried! Would definitely get this again. Fish Cake ($5 small) - This soup is the epitome of a warm, cozy hug in a nice pint. The scallions & fish cake pull it all together, but I would (& wish I could) drink this broth like water. Absolutely delicious - will get a large every time going forward. If you try one new thing - let it be this.

Checked out the new sister restaurant of Tofu Tofu and I'm happy to report that it's great. The restaurant is small and only has two seats. And by seats, I really mean window sills with TV dinner tables. So you're really here to takeout. Ordered the friend chicken small bowl for $8 and the squid kimbap for $9. It took a bit longer than the 5 minutes they quoted me but the "small" bowl was filled to the top. So much so they couldn't close the lid and needed plastic wrap. You can't beat this got $16. Which btw, they are cash only. The two girls working the counter were very nice too. So if you're talking about value and taste, it doesn't get cheaper than this for Korean food.

I ordered their large beef ($12) and pork bowl ($10). It came with rice, salad and the choice of meat. Bowl was pretty filling and affordable for the neighborhood. Will definitely come back to try their other bowls. Bring cash. They don't accept card.

The effortless tranquility encourages you to slow down, enjoy the food, and get away from the everyday, hubbub. Their menu leans into fusion dishes with a nod to some of the classic home-style classics. Everything is presented with a refined, elevated touch. Here's what we ordered: ~ Tako Wasabi - 5/5 stars A fiery delight. This appetizer feartures chopped raw octopus marinated in wasabi. It has a lively zest from the wasabi and is topped with tobiko, which adds a pleasant contrast in texture. ~ Honey Makgeolli - 4/5 stars A traditional fermented Korean beverage that is light and pairs brilliantly with your meal. It is a cloudy alcholoic drink served in a metal teapot, and surprisingly, there is much more in that teapot than you would expect. It easily provides six to eight generous pours. The flavor is subtly sweet with a pleasant tang. ~ Temaki Set - 4/5 stars You can order a set of three by choosing from selections 1-17, or you can order a la carte at the listed prices. Some of the temaki stood out more than others. Our two sets included marinated salmon, bluefin tuna, spicy yellowtail, spicy bluefin, and two dynamite temaki. ~ Spicky Pork Ssam Set - 5/5 stars Truly another standout entree that even surpassed my beloved grilled BBQ bossam. You received a generous basket of assorte greens, including romaine, kale, perilla leaves, dandelion leaves, nappa cabbage, and more. It is well worth the price and makes for a fun, interactive dining experience with your family and friends. There is also various banchan offered and this time, they were beyond kind enough to offer refills. The last time we were here, we ordered just as much food and they stated they normally did not offer refills, which I thought was very odd. With its casual bougie aesthetics, this spot has quickly become one of my favorite eateries in Fort Lee-lee, It beautifully blends Korean, Japanese, and American flavors in a way that feels both comforting and elevated. Needless to say, we will be back!

We got the large beef combination platter which comes with ribeye, thin skirt, brisket, marinated kalbi, and marinated chuck flap. Most people stuck with water, while a couple got ginger ale. I ordered the soju flight but I ended up not liking it so my cousins shared it. The meal comes with different veggies as well as your choice of soup. We got the spicy tofu and split it 6 ways. The spice lived up to its name, so I didn't eat very much. The best part was meat. Despite there being 6 of us, there was plenty to go around. I think you have the option to cook it yourself or have them cook it for you and we chose the latter. While I enjoyed it, I wish there was more space. Most of the space was taken up by the accompaniments that come with it (veggies, etc), so there was hardly any room to put anything else. It didn't help that none of our dishes were cleared once we finished them and that no rice is included. Aside from that, both the food and service were great.

But there's no denying that BCD has upped their soondubu game considerably in the last decade+ with a thicker, more deeply flavored broth, and now easily rivals my longtime favorite and gold standard, the OG So Kong Dong in Fort Lee. Then I stumbled into a hack that changed my view: lunch! I ducked in for a late lunch on a whim while walking by one day, and this turned out to be a much chiller hour, unhurried and no reservation needed. I was promptly seated, my order taken, and the banchan swiftly laid out. The banchan spread is solid across the board (the little fried fish does nothing for me, but seems to be a highlight for everyone else). I especially love the kimchi, near-perfect IMO, and the pickled cucumber. There's a modest lunch discount, which is a nice bonus for someone who likes to order aggressively. I usually get an oyster, seafood, or assorted soondubu (with a raw egg cracked in), danger spicy of course! Or go the C1 combo route with a galbi (marinated bbq beef short ribs) + smaller soondubu. It's an enormous amount of food, so I take most of the galbi home and feel no shame about it. The galbi, by the way, has also gotten noticeably better over the years - meatier, tender, and the flavor is on point. I've also enjoyed their bibimbap, bulgogi, jap chae, and seafood pancake. Finally, let's talk heat - this chili-head loooves fire! And BCD's danger level is one of the rare instances where the spice level actually meets my punishing tolerance for heat, not some pretense at "American spicy.," despite this being a chain. Their danger level actually means business and brings tears to my eyes, literally. It's still not my favorite place ambience wise, and dinner remains a contact sport I've mostly opted out of, as gone are the days that I can tolerate a culinary mosh pit, and any wait longer than 10 minutes (and only for a superlative place) will trigger an automatic ejection of my presence. But for lunch? Unexpectedly great. 4 stars for dinner, 5 for lunch.
