24. Korean black bean pork noodles and pineapple chicken combo
Sam L.

They are located inside the K-Town food court. When you enter, they are in the back right corner. I ordered #24, which is the Korean black bean pork noodles & pineapple chicken combo. Overall, the entire dish was bland. The noodles seemed a bit overcooked and the black bean sauce was bland. The pineapple chicken was tender, but the breading was soft and again, it was bland. Even the miso soup was quite bland. I would maybe recommend this dish if you don't like very salty foods, but I wouldn't consider myself someone who likes their food that salty. I would like to try another restaurant inside the K-town food court.

Rice with Kimchi/Tofu + Miso Soup

Not the best place in the food court, but the portion sizes are good. Ordered the rice with tofu/kimchi and miso soup and it was a little disappointing. The miso soup was laden with MSG and salt and the tofu/kimchi was a little too salty. The first couple of bites were okay and then it became overwhelming. The food did come fairly quickly though, there was lots of it, and it wasn't too expensive. Even for Korean fast food standards, Jin Jja Roo is mediocre. Would recommend the many other choices here at the food court.

I've really only had the black bean noodle and spicy seafood noodle (got it through the two dishes option #21), but it was very satisfying and definitely a place I would go back to. The black bean noodles were definitely the star, and considering that you can get a big bowl of these alone for 6.99 or 7.99, I'm pretty impressed. I wouldn't get the seafood noodles again, as those were frankly quite mediocre in taste (the broth also tasted almost identical to that at another vendor, which makes me think it's probably from a powder). The 9.99 price mainly gets you the variety of two dishes, but of course I think the single dishes will be much better value as they are quite a bit cheaper and per the cashier not all that different in terms of volume of food. Will definitely be here again.

I didn't know what i wanted from Gallery 32. I was sold as soon as I saw the split bowls at Jin Jja Roo. Ja jang myeung and seafood noodle soup? At the same time? Why not?! Both were equally delicious. A fair amount of sauce and seafood. I was itching for cold noodles but maybe the next time. I like the nifty buzzers so that we can go sit down and retrieve the order when it is ready.

It was not my idea to go here. Jin Jja Roo is located in the K-town food court and is slightly obscured, by the stairs. I think that's why I subconsciously avoided it. So, I would like to take this time to personally thank, Robert Sietsema. Who wrote the beckoning Village Voice article, "5 Best Things To Eat at Food Gallery 32", which brought me here. Dear Mr.Sietsema, Thank you, for bringing these soft tasty noodles into my life. If it wasn't for you, I never would have ordered, Jja Jang Myun. I would have never discovered the simplistic joy of: smoky sauce, onions, eggplant and pork ,with warm creamy noodles. I also would never have looked it up to find out about the rich history of this dish. It's a national dish of Korea. Jja Jang Myun which literally translates to, "fried sauce noodles", is actually the most popular delivery dish in Korea. Who knew? Not me Robert ... not me. Thanks Again, Lou

Jjajangmyun + Jjampong = Jjamjiamyon! Why settle for one when you can get both? One of my favorite Korean dishes served on a special bowl that holds Jjajangmyun on one side and Jjampong on the other. 1. Jjajangmyun (black bean sauce over noodles) the sauce, love it, the noodles, tender. Later I realized it was missing shreds of cucumber garnish that adds a bit of crunch. 2. Jjampong (spicy seafood noodle soup) soup, not as tasty or has as many ingredients compared to Shanghai Mong across the street. I would stay at Jin Jja Roo for the Jjamjiamyon and prices are slightly cheaper.

I got the chicken teriyaki special. It was good! Would come back again.

We order the noodle combo: myun and sweet chicken. The myun is worse than Dong Chun Hong. The sweet chicken is good.

Sat at a high top by the bar and had a fairly light dinner. The Beef Tartare comes out with a cracked quail egg for you to pour into the meat yourself and the beef sat on top of sone sliced pear. It's a small appetizer but it tasted fresh and clean, the crispness of the pear matches well with the heaviness of the beef. The cured shrimp was delicious, I'm sad there was only 3 because I wanted 5 servings of it. The uni, roe, and soy shrimp practically melted in your mouth. The Uni Bimbimbap has rave reviews and I can see why. It was filling without being overly heavy and each bite had uni in it after mixing it up. If you're unsure about uni, this is definitely a great way to introduce yourself to it's flavor palette.

Bb.q Chicken's rose tteokbokki is better imo - Pork shank: 9/10, really tender and juicy meat that fell off the bone. Hella pricey tho (-1 point) - Kimchi fried rice w/ prime hanger steak: 6/10, just okay. Not a huge fan of the fried rice, the steak was good, medium rare - Espresso martini: 8/10, really strong lol

They have a variety of the standard fare Korean options at reasonable prices. We tried the ddukbokki and bulgolgi dupbap which were both good. The portion sizes were on the bigger size and the ddukbokki were giant. I do wish the ddukbokki was a little less watery but overall tasted fine. The bulgolgi was pretty standard for what I'd expect. Overall a solid option in the area if you don't want to wait for a long queue outside of the other popular spots.

Crispy on the outside and packed with seafood inside. Beef Belly & Mala Cream Noodle Soup: Loved this one. Udon with tender beef and baby octopus... so good!!! Spicy Braised Pork Rib Stew: Rich, comforting, and full of flavor. The highlight for me was the raw marinated crab. I spotted it on the wall menu and immediately had to order it. It's rare to find in the city! And honestly, this was way better than BCD's. So flavorful. Only complaint... the banchan portions are small and not a lot of variety. Other than that, I really enjoyed my meal and I'd definitely recommend this spot.

The restaurant itself is huge, with two stories, yet it still has a lively and comfortable atmosphere. The menu is extensive, with plenty of traditional Korean dishes, and the lunch specials offer especially good value for the quality and portions. Everything we ordered was delicious, but the galbi-jjim (갈비찜) and tteokbokki (떡볶이) were the standouts. The galbi-jjim was rich, tender, and deeply flavorful, while the tteokbokki had that satisfying, authentic Korean flavor I look for. Service was excellent--attentive, efficient, and friendly even with such a large restaurant. Great food, great atmosphere, reasonable lunch options, and a huge selection. Definitely one of my favorite Korean restaurants in NYC and a place I would happily return to.

It's extremely crispy and very high quality. A large issue I had at this establishment was the service. The server felt unfriendly, and whenever we tried to flag him down, he wouldn't even look at us. It took around 20 minutes after our meal to get our check which was ridiculous. It was a shame because this was easily one of my favorite meals in NYC, but I don't know if I would return solely due to the service.
