Delicious. Fat rolls. Cash only. Hole in the wall. No sitting. A bit pricey but it's a fat roll

I love this place and must stop by if I'm in the area!! The best gimbab!! Cash only though!!

Excellent. Tiny takeout shop for made-to-order kimbap. Service is quick enough but there might be a wait during lunch or dinner rushes I guess. Good portion for the price, would make for a hearty meal. Solid ingredients all around, protein and a mix of veggies all seasoned well without being overpowering wrapped with a thin layer of rice and seaweed. Easy recommendation if you're in the mood for kimbap.

Spicy tuna kimbab for $13! This is a very good for a quick grab and go snack. They make every kimbap to order! CASH ONLY!

EMO Kimbop is a tasty to-go kimbop shop, located in the heart of Koreantown. They have an extensive menu of their regular and special kimbops with different fillings - We decided to order: +the Bulgogi Kimbob - filled with marinated beef, yellow radish, carrots, spinach, and burdock root +and, a Spicy Crab Salad Kimbob - one of their specials; this was filled with spicy crab, yellow radish, carrots, spinach, and burdock root WOW - both kimbops were extremely tasty and well-made; everything was seasoned perfectly and just so flavorful! They are more on the pricier end, but great for snacks or a meal to go before a trip! The owner is a husband-and-wife team, and all kimbops are made-to-order! Such a gem! +delicious kimbops +friendly owners & service

A little mom-and-pop spot tucked away in K Town, known for their gimbaps! It's on the pricier side but the food is very fresh and made to order. The spicy crab and eel is my go to! FYI - it's cash only!

Food: This place specializes in kimbap. They offer a wide variety of kimbaps including vegetarian and non vegetarian options. Their kimbaps are made fresh. I would recommend getting the spicy squid. The kimbap is so fresh and delicious here and much better than kimbap from other places in ktown. This place is cash only. Service: Staff are friendly and welcoming. Ambiance: This is a very small storefront in the heart of ktown with no seating. Overall, I would highly recommend this place!

Still cash only! Very small place, no seating area, order and leave. Try for yourself and you decide. I have been to this place many times before and was surprised I never wrote a review. It's been 1-2 years since I've been here so take this with a grain of salt. Stopped by and was picking up a quick lunch item. The prices went up by $2 and more ingredient options available. I decided on a mushroom kimbob ($10). The kimbob was warmish and they didn't have the miso soup anymore unless they ran out and I misunderstood that day. The kimbob didn't taste the same as it used to. In the past, I couldn't get enough of the mushroom in equally cut sizes. I miss the elderly woman making the rolls and soup.

CASH ONLY, but a very convenient and quick spot to pick up food on the go! I prefer E-Mo over other places in ktown.

I've been coming here for over a decade, and love it!! Both the previous and current owners made conversation with me and memorized my regular cheese kimbap order yes...I can be a creature of habit, too! And it's cash only.

If you are getting your kimbap from Woorijip, try E-MO -- it's right next door and far, far better! Once you place your order, the owners roll your kimbap on the spot, so you get them nice and warm. These rolls are only $10-11 and so delicious! I got the Tuna Kimbap, and I thought it was very authentic and so filling! They do not skimp out on the ingredients at all. Would love to come back to try other flavors! One thing to note though is it is cash & takeout only - remember to bring cash!

A very small shop on the busy street of Koreantown. Passed by this place last time but they were closing so couldn't get to try and was excited to try it this time around. We ordered the Bulgogi kimbob and the spicy crab salad kimbob. While the Bulgogi kimbob had decent flavoring, the spicy crab salad kimbob lacked. I kind of wanted to be a bit more spicier. I'm sure I'll be returning to try their other kimbob soon!

The effortless tranquility encourages you to slow down, enjoy the food, and get away from the everyday, hubbub. Their menu leans into fusion dishes with a nod to some of the classic home-style classics. Everything is presented with a refined, elevated touch. Here's what we ordered: ~ Tako Wasabi - 5/5 stars A fiery delight. This appetizer feartures chopped raw octopus marinated in wasabi. It has a lively zest from the wasabi and is topped with tobiko, which adds a pleasant contrast in texture. ~ Honey Makgeolli - 4/5 stars A traditional fermented Korean beverage that is light and pairs brilliantly with your meal. It is a cloudy alcholoic drink served in a metal teapot, and surprisingly, there is much more in that teapot than you would expect. It easily provides six to eight generous pours. The flavor is subtly sweet with a pleasant tang. ~ Temaki Set - 4/5 stars You can order a set of three by choosing from selections 1-17, or you can order a la carte at the listed prices. Some of the temaki stood out more than others. Our two sets included marinated salmon, bluefin tuna, spicy yellowtail, spicy bluefin, and two dynamite temaki. ~ Spicky Pork Ssam Set - 5/5 stars Truly another standout entree that even surpassed my beloved grilled BBQ bossam. You received a generous basket of assorte greens, including romaine, kale, perilla leaves, dandelion leaves, nappa cabbage, and more. It is well worth the price and makes for a fun, interactive dining experience with your family and friends. There is also various banchan offered and this time, they were beyond kind enough to offer refills. The last time we were here, we ordered just as much food and they stated they normally did not offer refills, which I thought was very odd. With uncertainty, my friend got the spicy pork and I ordered the machete for lunch. I enjoyed the fried cod and chicken appetizers more. My friend was sad she didn't get the bibimbap instead. When asked what her thoughts are midway through the meal, she responded, "It isn't bad, but it isn't great." I understood her completely. One last thing, the ice cream dessert needs an upgrade with the presentation. When the plate was presented to us, I couldn't help myself and chuckled. I asked my buddy if she too thought that the dried strawberries looked like cat food. She laughed, knowing exactly what I meant. By golly, it's like eating kibble! We got the large beef combination platter which comes with ribeye, thin skirt, brisket, marinated kalbi, and marinated chuck flap. Most people stuck with water, while a couple got ginger ale. I ordered the soju flight but I ended up not liking it so my cousins shared it. The meal comes with different veggies as well as your choice of soup. We got the spicy tofu and split it 6 ways. The spice lived up to its name, so I didn't eat very much. The best part was meat. Despite there being 6 of us, there was plenty to go around. I think you have the option to cook it yourself or have them cook it for you and we chose the latter. While I enjoyed it, I wish there was more space. Most of the space was taken up by the accompaniments that come with it (veggies, etc), so there was hardly any room to put anything else. It didn't help that none of our dishes were cleared once we finished them and that no rice is included. Aside from that, both the food and service were great.

But there's no denying that BCD has upped their soondubu game considerably in the last decade+ with a thicker, more deeply flavored broth, and now easily rivals my longtime favorite and gold standard, the OG So Kong Dong in Fort Lee. Then I stumbled into a hack that changed my view: lunch! I ducked in for a late lunch on a whim while walking by one day, and this turned out to be a much chiller hour, unhurried and no reservation needed. I was promptly seated, my order taken, and the banchan swiftly laid out. The banchan spread is solid across the board (the little fried fish does nothing for me, but seems to be a highlight for everyone else). I especially love the kimchi, near-perfect IMO, and the pickled cucumber. There's a modest lunch discount, which is a nice bonus for someone who likes to order aggressively. I usually get an oyster, seafood, or assorted soondubu (with a raw egg cracked in), danger spicy of course! Or go the C1 combo route with a galbi (marinated bbq beef short ribs) + smaller soondubu. It's an enormous amount of food, so I take most of the galbi home and feel no shame about it. The galbi, by the way, has also gotten noticeably better over the years - meatier, tender, and the flavor is on point. I've also enjoyed their bibimbap, bulgogi, jap chae, and seafood pancake. Finally, let's talk heat - this chili-head loooves fire! And BCD's danger level is one of the rare instances where the spice level actually meets my punishing tolerance for heat, not some pretense at "American spicy.," despite this being a chain. Their danger level actually means business and brings tears to my eyes, literally. It's still not my favorite place ambience wise, and dinner remains a contact sport I've mostly opted out of, as gone are the days that I can tolerate a culinary mosh pit, and any wait longer than 10 minutes (and only for a superlative place) will trigger an automatic ejection of my presence. My sister had her portion cooked to well done since she is currently pregnant and didnt want to risk having any problems (not everything ended up being well done though). I personally prefer the pancake from elsewhere but it was not bad. My picky daughter really liked it. The combo came with a steam egg and boy was that good. Our meal ended with a yummy ice cream for each of us. This meal however made a pretty big dent in my wallet. It was my fault for not checking the menu before heading in. I didnt want to walk any further with my toddler and my pregnant sister since it started raining outside.

Good portion sizes for the 2-person shared BBQ lunch- be it Bulgolgi beef, stewed soup, or Banchan…read morewith 6 varieties of small dishes. Soup and Banchan both receive high marks for how good they taste. Also ordered a separate beef short rib lunch special, the rib was cooked to perfection and the sauce applied was very flavorful. Servers were friendly and mostly attentative, restaurant decors and cleanliness of interiors and bathrooms were quite good. Would come back again next time in the Herald Square area.
