I also split a side of corned beef (not pictured) w/ mija and a female rellie (they shared a combo silog). The food was a definite smash!!!!! The pork chop was tender, and went well with the homemade vinegar & garlic sauce. The long lumpia shanghai was GBD, and also went well with the sauce. The longanisa had a texture that reminded me of childhood, and the Ilocos sausage (that is less fatty), was a nice contrast. Lastly, the savory corned beef was a good way to finish the big portion of garlic rice. I def needed a nap after this meal. Regarding the ambiance, its a small, casual place that holds 50. You order at the front, and your food is brought to you quickly. There were a lot of Flip clients, but there were also a fair number of non-Flip clients. Many of the clients looked like regulars. The staff is super nice, and they play Hawaiian reggae in the background. All in all, an awesome experience in DT Seattle. There's a reason Ludi's is on Yelp's Top 100 list. I have a trip booked in Oct to SEA, and I'm glad my hotel is very close to Ludi's.

Then we shared 4 dishes: sardine tartine, dal soup, an heirloom tomato and cucumber salad and the halibut entree. Literally everything was delicious. I lived the flavors of the dal soup--cumin, coriander, mustard seed. The tomatoes were super fresh on top of a creamy marscapone. And the halibut was perfectly cooked, with a crispy top and flaky body. I only wish we lived here and could visit more often!

Tempting pastry case with savory and sweet choices, the usual bevs, as well as, cocktails. Vibrant place to visit solo or meetups with others. The 16oz iced mokka (mocha) I had was well crafted. Both counter folks were personable and welcoming. I was able to sit at a two top and remain cool during my brief visit on that hot Tuesday early afternoon. They've been an indie (Cafe Hagen/Freya) that has expanded to many locations: here in SLU, two on Queen Anne, downtown on 5th, at Dexter, the Waterfront, Freya in Pike Place Market and Nordic Museum in Ballard, plus sites over in Bellevue and Kirkland. She loved the French toast with the included berry bar trip! However, the potatoes were cut into HUGE pieces which were difficult to eat even though they were cooked through. I'm not a scallop expert but this one missed the mark - the flavors were off with the sauce (tasted earthy). Presentation and color looked good, but this didn't taste good. Also came here breakfast several times. I don't have pictures, but each time the breakfast was amazing!

Not here. The biscuits were incredibly buttery and flaky, and the gravy had a rich, savory flavor that tasted like it was made from a proper roux. I was genuinely impressed. The portions are enormous for the price, too. Even the inside of the restaurant was memorable, with fun artwork and signs throughout that gave me plenty to look at and laugh about. Definitely worth a stop, especially if you take biscuits and gravy seriously.

Not a great restaurant - my burger was overcooked and burned (so the burned parts of the patty overpowered any other taste). My dad had the chowder and we both felt it was pretty watery... the number of clams you get in the steamers (like 10?) is laughable for $17. While most of the servers were nice (the girl in particular), one guy was very rude when we asked how seating worked (you wait for a table to open and take it yourself), he answered in a very annoyed manner. We get you might have to answer this question many times, but we honestly didn't know, and is that any way to behave?? And when the table did open, we waited a good 10 minutes for a server to clear the table, none arrived and had to go find someone ourselves. If you want to have a less than mediocre experience, eat here. EDIT: to respond to another yelper's post about spending the money for good food, "Yes! I agree!" But here, you are spending a lot of money for food that is pretty badly prepared (see my comment on my burnt burger and watery chowder). For the same price you can each much better, even within Pike's Market. read more

Stumbled on this joint after a fun day of walking around Pike Place Market. My husband and I were craving seafood for dinner so he ordered the fish tacos and I had the seafood market salad and we ordered the Dungeness crab cakes for appetizer. They are generous in their portions. Service was quick and the food was yummy! The 3 floors covers a lot of space. If you're looking for table service, hit up the 2nd floor. The place provides a really awesome view of the water too which was an extra perk. We really enjoyed our meal here that we went back for lunch the next day! The seafood market salad had smoked salmon, giant tiger prawns, fresh crab meat, and a lighter fare of mixed veggies - definitely a heart healthier option. Even though the fish & chips dish is their signature, we thought the fish tacos were over the top especially paired with the chili beans. The flavor was spicy and tasty with fresh toppings, making this our #1 pick off their menu. Yummy! read more

My experience couldn't have been better. I noted on my OpenTable reservation that it was a birthday & asked if there was a special table. We arrived & the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more welcoming. The table was amazing quiet, yet in the middle of the action & we were treated exceptionally well. We opened our menus & they said Happy Birthday inside; when dessert arrived there was a candle & Happy Birthday was written in chocolate on the plate I didn't mention the birthday in my confirmation call or when we arrived, this was all through my reservation note. The staff said Happy Birthday. Excellent food, beautiful restaurant, outstanding, knowledgable & attentive service. It was a very special night. Highly recommend. read more

I don't know how I feel about Lowell's. I want to give it 3.5 stars, but Yelp forces you to make decisions! *Shakes fist.* The food was fine, though it was $15 for alright fish n' chips. Over. Priced. But I get it! It's a tourist location where people will pay $15 for alright fish n' chips. The lady working the register gave us samples of both the salmon and clam chowders and they were both really good. The rest of the staff were just as nice and the food came out quickly, even though it was noon and the place was pretty busy. We sat on the 3rd floor and the view was beautiful. It was a good experience while we were touristing around The Market, but I think if I ever go back I'd get a bowl of the chowder instead of the fish. read more

Time and time again, Lowell's Restaurant delivers at every level. The food is inventive but not fastidiously so, the service impeccable, the room radiant, and nothing ever feels uptight or pretentious. This is a place that makes diners makes me feel good. I have had the pleasure of having dinner there and the food is spectacular the chef's reinterpretation of humble braised pig or lechon borders on the genial. Lunch is an absolute delight. A strawberry gazpacho was, quite simply the essence of a perfect fruit, and the perfectlysized coin of lardo the epitomy of earthy flavor. In sum, between its unique standard for hospitality and the brilliant cooking, E.M.P. is my favorite restaurant in a city with plenty of contenders. read more

I would put no stars if I could. These people are fucking racist! Don't eat here. I walked in and needed to sit my child down before I could focus and order from their menu. My family then wants to walk in and settle down before ordering. They won't let anyone sit until they take their order. Mind you the place is empty. Plenty of tables are open. The host is panicking for some reason. Overwhelmed by an 8 person Black and Brown family perhaps?!?! Seriously?!? Bunch of idiots. It was so stressful to have all these people not letting my family walk-in. We simply walked out. They lost major business. I don't recommend anyone supporting this place! Overall, my experience at this place was just okay. While the view was stunning, some of the hosts or servers seemed a bit unfriendly and even rude at times. I guess I should have expected that in such a touristy spot. However, I must admit, the view alone was worth the visit. As for the food, I'm not convinced it's the best seafood option in Pike Market. I ordered eggs with oysters and was disappointed--it was overly greasy and oily. Additionally, the breakfast seafood options were limited to just crab and some salmon, which didn't feel particularly special. Despite these shortcomings, the sight of Mount Rainier emerging from the clouds did manage to put a smile on my face. read more

As I passed to the area I saw this place where there's a lot of people lined in the counter. I got in and because of my curiosity I tried to order their salmon sandwich and lavender spritzer. I was impressed to the serving of their food, and the lemon that put in the side of the glass lid. Lavender spritzers are so refreshing and the taste of the salmon sandwich is satisfying. I really enjoyed this place because of the people who are very satisfied with their orders, the staff, and also the delicious meal they had. I would love to recommend this place, for those people who are did not yet visit the place, you must take a look and try their specialties. read more

Came here our first day in Seattle while we were exploring the Pike's Place market. We just needed a quick lunch and that's what we got. There were some good views upstairs but this was just kind of "meh." I got the salmon Caesar salad and it was very basic. It didn't blow me away but was fine. My mom got the salmon with vegetables and rice but they were out of rice so they gave her double veggies. They weren't steamed well and were still pretty crunchy. The staff had no customer service and it was just pretty average and very expensive for what we got ($20 for the salad and $22 for the salmon entree). read more

This really wasn't a bad experience. It was OK. Just a bit touristy if you ask me. The food was good not great. So, in some respects I feel bad for just giving it a three star review. It just wasn't really over the top. I would come back. My advice to management though it to have your servers engage with your guests, make them feel unique and special. The food while good, needs to be taken up a notch. But, for those who feel that this review may have a negative undertone, it does not. I liked the place, would come back. Visiting Seattle for the first time. Lowell's was a recommended spot for good seafood. The ambiance was fitting. The food was okay but our server.. Kyle P. had a condescending aura. He took our order and returned with the drink order incorrect. We asked to have the error corrected. Kyle returned with now what appeared passive-aggressive attitude. Although he would pass and asked how we were doin, I honestly felt like he was asking out of obligation and not true concern. Although, we are very generous tippers, Kyle only received a smaller tip. We came to the Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle and this is our first stop in Seattle after arriving this morning since we were really hungry The view from the third floor is really nice and the person who took our order was really friendly. The first time I ever got drunk in Seattle...it was at Lowell's. I drank chocolate cake shots and beer (don't judge me!) and then I got on the bus to go home...which at the time was in a crappy apartment in the u-district. I still remember trying to be sober on that bus ride... Well, Lowell's doesn't have the best food, or the best service, or the best drinks, but it's in the market, so tourists love it. The only redeeming factor was the view, but in hindsight, I should have been more cautious as it turned out to be a tourist trap. One thing you must order CLAM CHOWDER!!!!!!!!!! it's too good to be true. It's one of the best clam chowders I've ever had in my life. I've been here a few times and I'll probably keep coming back because they have the best food in the Peek. Their clam chowder is delicious. Probably better than the other local places. Thankfully, our server was very nice and accommodating and offered to let me order something else. I went with the halibut, and it was better. Charlotte consistently delivers an outstanding dining experience, and we definitely look forward to coming back on our next trip to Seattle.

The restaurant was really busy when we arrived. By the time we left there were lots of open tables open. We ordered the halibut fish and chips to split. They went out of their way and split it for us. It was so nicely plated. We were impressed by the presentation. The meal was perfect. The fish was perfectly fried to a crisp and the fish was very tender and flaky and didn't taste fishy at all. The fries were crispy like I like them. For such a busy place we had great service. She checked on us several times and brought us more water and ketchup. I really like them dill tarter sauce. It was so tasty.

They have a salmon burger but it's really a sandwich as it's a whole piece of salmon filet in between soft buttery brioche buns. It comes dressed with lettuce, onions and house made tartar sauce. Once you pick it up, you cannot put it down. And the sauce will be all over your face. LOL It also comes with thick-cut fries that were surprisingly good (I'm usually not a big fan of thick fries but these were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside). Sitting at the tables outside is perfect for people watching.

Very cute. Very sophisticated. Very "rich auntie enjoying oysters on a work trip." But who was I kidding? Those oysters were NEVER going to fill me up. So I got back to my hotel, got comfortable, and did what needed to be done: ordered Mama's Crawfish and Seafood House. I went with the fried catfish and shrimp basket, which came with fries, coleslaw, and hushpuppies. Now the catfish and shrimp?! Mama did her BIG ONE. Everything was seasoned perfectly, fried well, and exactly what I needed to close out my Seattle trip. I thoroughly enjoyed both. The sides, however, didn't move me. I love fries BAD, but these weren't amazing enough for me to stuff myself when I had perfectly good catfish and shrimp sitting there. I didn't bother with the coleslaw or hushpuppies either. I know where my priorities lie. Overall, Mama's absolutely satisfied the seafood craving. Next time I'm in Seattle, I'd definitely skip the delivery and go dine in so I can get the full experience. Because apparently oysters and wine are just my pre-dinner now.
