What is happening with this place? This used to be my go to for breakfast when I didn't have time to make something. The food is great, but there's a new lady working there that is fairly rude - she literally rolled her eyes once when I was trying to specify the type of beans I wanted, and she has tried to charge extra for salsa (with a food order!) several times now. They have a sign that lists prices for salsa based on the container size, but if you're ordering food it should come with it - like it always has before. I had enough this morning and just walked out instead of placing the order. I may have to find another place until or unless they bring their previous good customer service back. read more

Well service was ok, waitress was eating while asking us our order. Chips were very good, green salsa great. I hear from all yelpers al pastor, was the best here. She ordered the carne asada supreme burrito with no onions with wet sauce on it and it was very gristly and fatty it seems like that's all it was was gristle and fat had good flavor but super chewy. I had to chili verde with rice and beans and they must have bumped their head thinking that plate was worth $13 for two tacos worth of pork and some rice and beans. Save your money. read more

This is some authentic Mexican food! We had the Milanesa dinner which was perfectly tender and crispy with rice, beans, pico de gallo and warm corn tortillas...excellent! Also the carne asada taco plate and a combo plate which were all fantastic! As we're leaving we noticed they had an authentic el pastor spit and we will definitely try that next time! This is probably one of the worst places I have ever eaten at. My family of 5 went there for breakfast expecting some good authentic Mexican food based off the good reviews. Between us 5 the total came out to 63$. We ordered French toast, which was decent, a breakfast burrito which was also okay. But then we ordered the walnut pancake special and it was horrible. They charge an extra 3$ for one extra egg and to make matters worse, the plate came with ONLY ONE PANCAKE. Wasnt even big! My mother and sister ordered enchiladas and the plate came with literary only one, ONE, enchilada on the plate. Very disappointed and would never come back. read more

Ok so me and husband are Sunday Funday Menudo seekers! Today's find was this laid back Mexican spot! Best Menudo we've had besides my mother in laws. The tripe was the honeycomb type! Love the detail to cleaning the tripe clean flavors and the salsa they bring isFIRE! Amazing menudo, homemade tortillas, and excellent service. Really liked this place it was fairly steady except there salsas that stuff is nasty. No longer a place I will go it just gets worse every time. The finisher was ordering the chicken fried steak now I understand this isn't a Mexican dish but if it's on the menu it should be edible and I had had it there previously. Another good find in my never-ending quest to seek out the best al pastor in the universe. We were driving back to LA from Monterey and Yelp reviews pointed us to the Los Robles cafe. The place was pretty full for a Sunday afternoon. Families were sitting around enjoying tacos and watching he women's USA-Japan World Cup final was on the TV. Apparently, the al pastor style pork is the main draw. Since we wanted to try a few takes on the main attraction, we ordered a torta and a burrito. While our main dishes were being prepared, we devoured the AMAZING green salsa with a basket of chips. It was tart and spicy and creamy... this is probably the best avocado green salsa I've ever had. Our sandwich and burrito arrived and the first thing I noticed was how different the meat was prepared for each dish. The torta's pastor was crispy and caramelized (YUM!), while the burrito's was cut into larger chunks that looked more like carnitas to me. The texture and size of the meat wasn't what I had expected since al pastor is traditionally sliced off the spit and then chopped pretty fine. The flavor was also somewhat lacking, but combined with beans and rice (and cheddar cheese), the burrito's ingredients made up for the lackluster pork. The torta, on the other hand, was delicious. Very tasty bread, crisp lettuce and a whopping pile of pickled jalapeños gave the sandwich a kick (which was enhanced by the green and red salsas on the table). The crispy pork was suited for this sandwich and even though I was pretty full, I finished it anyway. We should have tried the tacos, but at this point we were stuffed beyond belief. read more

Stopped in Paso to go wine tasting with some friends and needed a good base layer before the drinking commenced. We found Los Robles Cafe and was not disappointed. The portions are generous, the food is tasty, and the price is right. My wife got the Chile verde burrito. It was super good and had tons of meat, always a plus in my book. I got the Nopales a la Mexicana. It was super flavorful and made the layer I needed to survive wine tasting. On weekends they have birria and I hope to try it one of these days. I've only ordered the Tacos Al Pastor... but honestly, don't bother with anything else. The tacos are simply awesome! This is a great patio to go enjoy a summer afternoon with Al Pastor Tacos and a couple could Modelos. It's dining excellence from every angle. Very good food, I am not the kind of person that will rate a restaurante by the waiters or host, so I won't mention them a lot, even though they were nice. I like to rate accordingly to what I expect when I enter to an establishment, going to a restaurant I expect food. The food was excellent, I ordered Torta Al Pastor it was amazingly yummy and good size. My husband ordered a combination of taco and enchilada, he said it was ok, my daughter liked the quesadilla with rice and beans on the side. Sauces with chips were yummy as well. I wish I can comeback to this place every time I crave a Torta, this is the only place I can say the cook have gotten it right with the Tortas making. First time here and it was pretty delicious. I got the camarones al mojo de ajo (garlic shrimp) it was really great the sauce was so good and it complimented the huge shrimp also the rice and beans are just the way I like 'em and don't get me started on the flan and fresh squeezed oj which were perfection. I topped my eggs with their red chipotle sauce and loved every bite. Breakfast for 2 came out to about $30, which seems to be about average price for Paso. The friend that I went with had chorizo and eggs and it was also bland. The portions were GIANT but we are in America so if you are looking for a giant meal they have that here for you. Los Robles Cafe has a somewhat non-descript exterior and interior. Kinda typical mex. A shaded outdoor dining looked nice. Went there for lunch. Chips and salsas delivered to table were good but a bit spicy for me (I love spicy food but I'm still a bit of a wimp...keep that water glass filled, please!). There was a pureed verde salsa and then also a pureed adobo rojo salsa. They blended well into my entree....chicken fajitas....which was cooked nicely and with good flavor. Not sizzling which I sort of like as you get those crunchy, tasty bits mixed in. Beans and rice slightly better than avg. My wife got a veggie burrito which was reported to be very good. Kids ordered from kids menu appropriately enough. Thing 2 got a pork enchilada (a bit dry) and Thing 1 got a quesadilla (didn't try it but report from her was that it was good). Had two homeade mexican sodas (horchata and jamaicha) which were yum and unique. Was thinking about how they might mix with tequila...but, the day was young. If I were a local I might come here occasionally. Flavorful, yes, but it wasn't incredible. Would love to try some other items on their menu. read more

I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. I asked them for bacon that wasn't burnt, and they brought me back the same burnt bacon. After a wedding celebration the previous night, I came here for breakfast and ordered a small bowl of menudo ($7.95) with condiments of chile paste, chopped white onions, dried oregano, lime, and 3 homemade corn tortillas. Interestingly, you get a choice of whether you want hominy with your menudo. Of course, I've always had hominy in my menudo and can't imagine the soup without it. The soup had plenty of tripe and the condiments allow you to personalize the flavor to your liking. Being a Gringo, my buddy is NOT a menudo fan and ordered the much-liked Machaca beef plate at $9.95 which came with potatoes, pinto beans, corn tortillas, and salsa. Most breakfast entrees were around $10 with lunch ranging from $10-$16. The coffee is fresh, plentiful and typical of most diners.
