Went in with low expectations as most taco places let me down. Man, was I wrong! The tortillas are handmade. That's an easy way to make me happy. I got two tacos, one asada and one panela (cheese). The tacos were large and delicious. The lady who helped me was super nice and let me know the green salsa was spicy while the red salsa was less spicy. Both salsas were great. The panela taco is served with pinto beans and pico de gallo. The asada taco is served with onions and cilantro. read more

We had an amazing meal last night on the way to Cal Poly Arts featuring Kishi Bishi at Sensorio! We stopped at Tacos Doña Mari in Paso Robles. Everything was cooked from scratch even the tortillas! We started with guacamole and chips and you could tell she had just made it right then! Perfectly flavored. Then we moved onto breaded fish taco, shrimp taco, which were all perfectly cooked and seasoned and the tortillas were outstanding. I had the Governator, which was crisp corn tortilla, smothered in melted cheese, and then sautéed shrimp, cabbage, pico de gallo, and a green sauce. I don't think I've ever inhaled anything so fast. I had an Al Pastor Sopes, a thick, round corn dough (masa) topped with cabbage, sour cream, cotija cheese, red salsa and green salsa. The beans complimented the pork and charred pineapple perfectly. I highly recommend Taco Doña Mari - The sweet ladies cooking for you is like going home to Abuelitas kitchen. read more

This is a hidden gem if you want good, authentic Mexican food in Paso Robles. From their great tacos to their pollo en mole to their caldo de pollo o de res (and more). All the food is prepared by mamacitas who take pride in the food they serve. Their homemade tortillas are delicious, as well. Next to the Wells Fargo bank in a strip mall on Spring and 6 Street. Give them a try - you'll be glad you did. Proveche! read more

The authentic Mexican food served here is amazing! We had birria tacos and pechuga con arroz with hand made tortillas that were excellent! The service was as quick as could be considering we walked in during a rush and got the last two seats. We were visiting Paso Robles from Ventura and this was our first time eating at Tacos Doña Mari but it won't be the last! read more

Just ordered Birria tacos and A burrito with an agua fresca paid 45$ just for me to get TWO salsa's when I ask for a third they want to charge me. Second they left a SHARP SMALL BONE in my birria taco. My husband almost died literally. Was choking for 5 min straight. Third their consomé tasted like water/ menudo juice. Idek man I had high hopes. Just for it to be ASS . Agua fresca was good . Regardless if the meat is being cooked with bone. QUALITY CONTROL IS A REAL THING all restaurants are supposed to abide by. Please do better, not just for me but the safety of your customers. NEVER have I had a quesabirria with an accidental bone. In the US or in MEXICO. read more

I came here for the chilaquiles, and they did not disappoint! The chips were perfectly crispy yet soaked just right in the sauce full of flavor without being soggy. The red sauce had that rich, homemade taste with the perfect level of spice. Topped with fresh crema, queso cotija, and 2 perfectly cooked eggs. This dish hit every note. Service was friendly and fast, and the whole place had a welcoming, authentic vibe. I'll absolutely be coming back whenever I'm craving real, satisfying comfort food. Highly recommend if you're a chilaquiles lover like me! read more

Great food , tacos de tripas delicious , rice beans and aguas frescas all were great.

I have been looking for a place to get some food for a meet and greet for a family wedding, I choise Tacos Dana Mari after checking with several different types of establishments. My wife and I made 2 trips to Paso sampling different food and food types. After sampling the food here we knew we found the right place. The food is great! The hand made flour and corn tortillas are outstanding. They have an incredible veggie Quesadilla . The chili verde and the fajitas were wonderful. The price was beyond reasonable. The service was great. I highly recommend "Tacos Dona Mari" read more

Great service. Authentic Mexican food. We have been here previously and had the Caldo de Rez. Excellent. Also have had the Caldo de Pollo. I was not feeling well a couple months ago so my hubby brought me the Caldo de Pollo. So fresh and flavorful. They have mama in the back making homemade corn tortillas and they come hot to the table. Great chips and salsa. Some spicy and some not. They also have green salsa which I loved. However yesterday we went there. I had the chili verde. My husband had Mole. My chili verde was a little disappointing bc it lacked flavor. Needed salt, pepper, a little more spiciness, cilantro, and the meat came in three big chunks that needed to be cooked a little longer. Was not tender at all. I could only eat a few bites. It seemed like they poured the green tomatillo sauce over the meat and didn't simmer the meat in the sauce like I do. It lacked a lot of flavor. I won't order this again. But I still love this place and will be my first choice for authentic Mexican food. Next to Wells Fargo bank on spring street. read more

First time here. First of all very happy it's new owners! They were friendly and nice. I can't say the food was bad. The tacos had enough filling. The asada had no flavor. We didn'care for the salsa served with it. To spicy. Regular salsa would be nice. The AL Pastor was good but not outstanding. The shrimp taco had no flavor at all. I didn't care for the two sauces served with it at all. They charge you for chips and salsa. Unfortunately we probably will not be back. Restaurant was clean. Service was nice. read more

So it's a quiet place. At least when I visited. It's one of those spaces that is kinda hidden. Not downtown. The service was very friendly. I ordered at the counter and was served my meal. It was Caldo de pollo. I really enjoyed it and appreciated the way it was served. The homemade tortillas are really good. I will try again sometime. read more

Delicious breakfast burritos and green hot sauce. Good prices and friendly service. I would come back again to try more of the menu.

Great service and food. Found this randomly and will be back next time I'm in town. Super super sweet family

The food here is solid Mexican fare. I had the breakfast tacos. I loved that they made fresh corn tortillas and that they added the grilled Mexican cheese on top My husband had the menudo with hominy and it reminded him of his Grandmas The Agua de Jamaica is not from a bag,and I appreciate that it wasn't too sweet. Definitely going to be back to try the green chicken pozole and the enchiladas. read more

Really good food and really, really good service. I would go back again and again. Staff was very accommodating and friendl.

Delicious authentic Mexican home cooking. The mole was the best as were the home made tortillas!

Visiting Paso and found this spot. Food was good, I ordered chorizo, came with beans and papas. My husband ordered chilequiles verde, came with chile verde. He liked it, but wished they had sauce on top. And the chilequiles were made of chips.. we also ordered a small bowl of menudo con Pata, it was just ok. Menudo didn't come with hominy and it lacked flavor. The best part was the homemade corn tortillas and fresh orange juice. Service was great, and everyone was friendly. read more

This place is a sleeper! Stopped here on the way to SB. My daughter and I kept things simple and just got tacos. Hand made tortillas were some the best I've ever had. Today we tried the breakfast tacos and they did not disappoint. When you order ask for the toasted mozzarella. The tacos themselves are so good by themselves but that mozzarella adds even more flavor and takes it to another level. Compliments to the chef Ivan we appreciate your food and your mom's. Also don't forget Pepino con lĩmon drinks, that completes the entire meal. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for excellent Mexican food. read more

The service was very fast always checking if we needed anything the was good and cheap. Had a good time

I got breakfast burritos from here because the photo online looked amazing - what we received was so far from that photo. It was all tortilla and potato (not even hash brown, like mashed potato), the tiniest amount of egg, and the bacon was raw!!! I was so disappointed, especially since it was almost $40 for 2 burritos which is crazy, and they weren't even edible. The worst food I have ever had from a restaurant. read more

I had high expectations of this place based on the pictures and reviews. But I won't be back. From the time I walked in I should have walked out with just the lack of being greeted. When I went to the counter the woman was not friendly at all. My order was the only order they made, yet it took a very long time for them to give to me as they were too busy working on their food list. I got to my hotel and was unpleasantly surprised. I ordered the quesa birria combo which I thought included rice and beans, but to my surprise it only included three mini quesabirria and the consume, i emphasizethe mini. At 16+ it was a total rip-off. They were nothing special for that price. read more

Small, very very clean and inviting space, with a surprising amount of seating available. Service was very friendly and prompt. Hubby had a Breakfast burrito - rice, beans and sausage - good proportions on the rice & beans, felt the sausage could have been a bit more. I had the enchilada combo special - 3 enchiladas (2 chicken, 1 beef)+ rice and beans. I'm something of a "beans" connoisseur and I RARELY find good beans, these are GREAT beans. Very Flavorful, if I had known i would have doubled up on the beans and skipped the rice. Enchiladas were well packed with the meats and had some shredded cabbage on top - nice add. One gentle reviewer mentioned the "hot" salsa was like hellfire hot. It isn't. It is definitely spicy with the kind of heat that sneaks up on you after your first bite. You think, "hmm... ok feel the burn...maybe too much?" But it is also very flavorful. I've had salsa's that were hot just to be hot; but had no real flavor. This is DELICIOUS and very addictive. It's one of those Hurts so Good salsa's, where you keep going back and you have no control over your compulsion. I'm sorry the other reviewer felt it ruined her shrimp tacos; with the flavor of this salsa I can only imagine it would have been a perfect match for shrimp or fish tacos. If you know you are a lightweight when it comes to salsa, then you should mention it so they can get you the right salsa. But for those of us who are competitive salsa tasters, we love trying the various levels; and their green salsa is very very delicious - but lightweights beware. read more

so they were not friendly. I was the only one in there on a Tuesday evening and I ordered two shrimp tacos. They were $4.50 each and when I got them back to my hotel room, they were so spicy I almost couldn't eat them. I definitely could not eat the second one. It took them 25 minutes to prepare them. The shrimp in the tacos was so overpowered by the hot sauce that I wondered if they did it on purpose for some reason I've had many many many shrimp tacos in my life and this was so over the top spicy it was ridiculous to say the least. I am a Latina and I am used to hot food. I was very polite so they had no reason to sabotage my food. read more
