I love this little place. Right near Camp Roberts and everyone here was so nice. The large burrito is massive, I got breakfast burrito with ham and bacon. The red salsa is so DELICIOUS! This place doesn't miss, everything is good. Burrito was 10/10, my friend got tacos and said they were amazing. Easy to get to, right off freeway. Dos Hermanos is a great spot right outside of the Paso Robles area. The burritos come in a small and large size (which I've never seen as an option before) and had a great al pastor meat that was very egg flavorful and tender. Salsas were good too! read more

Needed some food on the way between northern ca and southern ca and there weren't many options to choose from, but Yelp guided us over here and we were excited for some easy Mexican food to take on the road. But as other reviewers said, this is not a quick stop since food is made fresh to order. They also seemed to have a fair amount of take out orders they were handling and customers that were dining in. Small indoor seating area, covered patio area outside. Portions were pretty large (hence ~$17-$20 burritos) and food was decent, but definitely not a quick stop. Hard shell taco was good, chile relleno burrito. The salsas still have some nice kick. They were able to add a bit of veggies to the burrito which was nice. The mix of ingredients wasn't too much or too little. I ordered about 30 minutes before they closed, I ordered a pastor burrito and the pastor was so dry and tasted old like it was the end of it I would've gotten chile verde or carnitas if I'd known their pastor tasted like that I threw half away because it wasn't very good.. Converted gas station cafes may look sketch but sometimes they bare fruit worth the risk. Dos Hermanos is one of those type of places. Solid traditional Mexican cafe menu on the wall. Order at the count or on the phone for takeout or dine in. There is more seating outside than in but it is all great. The service was quick and good for a busy Saturday morning. The chili verde breakfast burrito was awesome. The small is a solid meal. I imagine the large would be split-able. We tried to guess which of the green and red sauce was hotter, hint they were both hot but had lots of flavor too. Can't wait to try more of the menu! read more

This restaurant is right down the street from Mission San Miguel and it's right by the freeway entrance on 101. It's in a town with a population of 3600 people so I'm guessing most of their customers are from out of town. It's a little hole in the wall mom and pop place. Everything is probably home made. The tamales were delicious and the masa was perfect. She had to check if they still had some and I'm glad they did. The hard shell tacos had fried shells. I ordered the Chile verde and carne asada. The Chile verde had the perfect tang from the tomatillos and the meat was so tender. The carne asada was good too. My husband got the taco salad and the ingredients were so fresh. My husband recommended this place because he said their breakfast burritos are ! Well we missed breakfast so I was bummed but I believe him. Instead of breakfast we indulged in taquitos, tostadas and a burrito. Waaay too much food! This is great authentic Mexican food establishment. It took a while to get our order because there were tons of call in orders. The establishment itself is quite dated but the food is great. I can say if a Mexican food place has good homemade beans and rice then it's pretty safe to say the rest of the menu is going to be good. Loved their beans and rice! Salsa was also really good. OMG- what a hidden gem!! Me and the hubby were just stopping to fill up our gas tank as we were heading North and saw this small hole in the wall. We just wanted something to fill our stomach's before we got back on the road, I honestly underestimated how good they are!! We got one of the breakfast burritos with sausage and we are foodies, this was the BEST breakfast burrito we have EVER had. For one, it came out to us right when done so it was perfectly hot! cheese was melted, everything had flavor and tasted so good and fresh!! It was authentic and not your basic bland burrito. A friend recommended Dos Hermanos because they have the best taco salads. I decided to check it out for lunch. The location is very convenient, being immediately adjacent to the freeway exit/on-ramp. The restaurant looks like it may have once been a gas station, and there are several tables both inside and outside. The menu has a good selection of standard Mexican food offerings, including burritos, tacos, fajitas, and the aforementioned taco salad. The taco salad is quite large, and full of fresh tomato and lettuce, along with rice, beans, and cheese in a hard shell. The green and red salsa were both tasty, and the meal as a whole was satisfying. I'm not sure the taco salad is really the best ever, but the fresh ingredients and reasonable price make Dos Hermanos a restaurant I would be happy to visit again. read more

Found this gem of a place in San Miguel on my way down to San Luis Obispo. Let's deconstruct this torta: toasted bread that almost resembled the texture of a fluffy croissant, generous chunks of grilled steak, lettuce, red onions, tomatoes, avocado, jalapeños, and Mayo. Plus a red salsa and green salsa on the side, totaling around $11. Every single bite was packed with flavor, and even the steak on its own was tasty. You know it's a good restaurant when there's hand painted murals throughout. We are still in this COVID-19 pandemic but this old gas station turned family run restaurant allows dine in. I ordered the California burrito and a Bean & Cheese burrito with the hottest salsa available plus a Mexican coke in a glass bottle. This little shop pumps out great food. I saw two little ladies cooking in the back and it was yummy. We headed to San Miguel looking for Friday night Fish fry. Could not find the one cooked up by the Lions Club annually, so we opted for Mexican. My husband has a chicken torta and he said it had all the right components. Chicken, avocado, sauce, Lettuce, tomato, and onion. It had a nice roll and the thing was huge. I had a carne asada tacos came with two tacos a lot of cilantro a very very good salsa on the side you could use hot or mild. The rice was fluffy and perfectly seasoned. The beans had the right texture. Not soupy and not stiff. A great little gem in Santa Miguel. And, yes the food takes a bit longer. It's not FAST food even though it sits off the highway. This is one of our routine stops when trekking to and from SoCal. I also get the chicken soft taco plate and my husband gets the vegetable burrito. The food dies t come out super fast. But, it's reliable good and consistent. You can also call your order in in advance in a hurry. They have a bathroom outside, but it's a little grimy. Only other complaint is that still use styrofoam. I would pay a little extra for them to switch to something greener. read more
