Funny thing is I found this shop by accident and I'm so glad I did. I was staying in Atascadero looking for a local coffee shop there and instead of hitting the one I thought was going to in my GPS, I accidentally hit Amstrdm instead. Even though it was a 15 minute drive up the freeway from where I was, it was worth every minute. The downtown area this shop is in was really cool, plenty of parking, and the moment you walked into this coffee shop you could tell it was going to be good. Lots of space, people sitting and having conversations, and a greeting from the Barista the second I walked through the door. I went with my standard iced oat milk latte with honey and a triple shot and it was perfect. I wish I could have drank it there because the inside of the shop seemed like a place you could hang out for a while. Unfortunately, I had to take it on the road, but that is a shop (if I lived in that area) I would drive out of my way to get to. Well done guys! read more

We ordered a latte, a breakfast sandwich, and the chicken pesto sandwich. The latte was enjoyable, though it tasted more milk-forward than coffee-forward. To be fair, we did order a latte, so that is partly expected. The breakfast sandwich was good but a little underseasoned and could have used a bit more flavor overall. The chicken pesto sandwich was the standout. The pesto was well balanced and did not overpower the rest of the ingredients, which made the sandwich really pleasant to eat. Overall, everything was solid, though slightly pricey for the portion sizes. The food was good, but nothing especially memorable. Still, it is a nice stop if you are in the area. read more

Nice stop to get coffee while in downtown to look at cars drive by, but that's it. Highly disappointed with the food and options. They were out of the sauce for the sandwich, which honestly wouldn't have helped this soulless wonder bread ham and cheese sandwich. I was baffled when they brought out the boring sandwich and my latte which I had just paid $22 for. I even said where's the rest of it. Fancy names for the food items on the menu really are deceiving. I know the economy is bad, but that doesn't justify a $12+ white bread, cheese and ham sandwich. Service was decent. So yum. I found them on Yelp and saw a menu for breakfast. I knew it was a coffee house but by the menu thought maybe a sit down. So I was a little confused at first waking up, bc there's a patio area. But you order and then sit inside or patio. Kitchen is detached. Got the oats, breakfast sando, pork belly dip, and Oaxaca coffee. The Oats were so good!! We all loved that. Sandwich was perfect, the dip gives it that extra salt punch I think it needed. This place is wonderful. Very few coffee shops can make a flat white so perfectly. The inside is cute, and the people are top notch. I've been to this place a handful of times, yet, they don't disappoint. I usually get there too late for a pastry, but I love their coffee. I'm a flat white drinker and it's so hard to find people who know how to make it. This place not only knows how to make it, but makes a perfect coffee. There is something poetic and artsy about this place in the coolest way possible. The building itself gives of a vibe that its hard to put into words. We visited Amstrdm Coffee House on a Sunday morning and found it pretty busy. The interior had a rustic vibe with plenty of natural light and a cool piece of an old piano attached to the counter. It was also dog-friendly, which I always love! I ordered the Vanilla Elderflower Latte, which was tasty and not overly sweet. I also got the Oatmeal with macerated berries. Was in Paso for a long weekend and needed my caffeine fix. I ordered the Iced Salted Caramel latte and it was very good. I also ordered the breakfast sandwich with bacon- which was also very good. Amsterm Coffee House in Paso Robles delivers where it counts. My iced latte was excellent--smooth, well-balanced, and refreshing--and the breakfast sandwich was genuinely delicious. While the service felt a bit borderline (the barista seemed like they were nearing the end of a long shift and not especially engaged), the quality of the drinks and food more than made up for it. Amstrdm saved our trip as finally getting a really good meal before heading back home. The brunch was delicious - we ordered the breakfast Sammie and the biscuits and gravy. YUM! The entire shop is CUTE with DUTCH DOORS and windows opening all the way and slightly below the sidewalk like a cozy little cave. The back patio was like a little hidden New Orleans hangout, with a fireplace, fountain and ivy covered wall. I can't say enough good things about the employees, they were so friendly and bent over backwards to make up for some menu snafus. They were also sweet to our dogs. Sadly, I cannot speak on their coffee because it was my bright idea to try another one right before and it was not a positive experience. This place has some of the best food that we have food in between the sf bay and SLO. It is an extremely cute place with a really nice patio that you can't tell is there from the street. So pleasant and tranquil. But the food is the true star. The biscuits and gravy, the tacos, the delicious pancakes. Just amazing. Made with care, experience, and passion. My wife and I stopped on the way down to SLO to pick up our daughter, and then took her there the next day on the way back home to show her how good it was and to try a few more dishes. It was that good. Brian and Evan are super friendly and their love for food and cooking shows in everything that we have tried and in speaking with them. Highly recommend! read more

Ordered the Himalayan sea salt caramel latte, 1/2 sweet and it was quite delicious, definitely recommend. They have plenty of seating inside and a few tables outside which makes for a great atmosphere. Service was fast, my drink was out within 5 minutes. Definitely recommend! read more

We just stopped on our road trip thinking it would be a great coffee shop. Very cute location across from the City Hall Square, Park. Very cute little house with like a little garage area. Super cute little picnic tables outside but unfortunately, as soon as we open the door, we were faced with a gross egg smell, and very hot environment as the person in the front said the air-conditioning was broken. So crazy whenever I go to places like this, I wonder who the owner is because you may have such a great opportunity to make a great vibe and they could just kill it with the smells the heat, etc. all the picnic tables outside were taken by locals. And there were only like three tables inside, so we just picked up our drinks Togo. A coffee was really not the best. It wasn't horrible, but it definitely wasn't great and the other reviews made me think they were gonna have some delicious bites, but that was not the case either so I probably would never stop hearing it. unfortunately another cute place to cross off. read more

What a cute and spacious coffee shop! Walked by on our way to lunch so we decided to stop by afterwards. 4/5 - salted caramel latte. It was still pretty sweet when I asked for less sweet and was pretty thick, but tasted good overall. It paired well with my husband's drink, which was ... 3/5 - espresso spritzer. Literally just a double espresso and tonic water, no sweetener. Was surprised since most crafted drinks come flavored. Next time, will try different drinks. Service was pretty good, friendly. Any drink we have gotten has been great. Both the Iced Americano and the Espresso Spritzer were great on a hot September day. My wife really liked their Iced Vanilla Latte. We stopped into Amstrdm Coffee House because we needed to get a quick morning jolt and a bite to eat before hitting the road for another couple of hours. If I had known before I left that the atmosphere inside would be so chill and comforting that I would want to stay there sipping on my beverage and contemplating new ideas for a novel, I would have left earlier. That's the vibe of Amstrdm Coffee House, the main lounge area has vibrant greenery all over, making it feel like a living lounge. When I visited, there was smooth jazz playing at an audible, but not too loud level, just enough to add some mood to the air. When I am measuring a coffee shop, my go-to is an iced vanilla latte, so I ordered that from the barista behind the counter along with a ham and cheese croissant. These were both brought to me in a very short time frame, although it was pretty busy inside, so I am not sure how they can keep up with the orders. I will say they're taking their coffee very seriously. This was not an overly sweet latte; instead, the vanilla took a backseat to the espresso, which is my preference. The ham and cheese croissant was also delicious; it was brought to me warm, and the salty ham played perfectly with the cheese. My only suggestion is that the main lounge area is a little tight; you can sit outside a big window looking out on the street to help with any claustrophobic feelings, but it's still not ideal. If it had been any busier when I visited, I would have likely taken everything to go, which is a shame because again, the atmosphere is one of the best things about this place. The bathroom which I also needed some maintenance and care. A great place to stop by, they're doing coffee right, and it's clear that that is where their focus is. I would go again if I was in the area, and can safely recommend this place. read more

Early mornings call for some coffee and to-go breakfast sandwiches. As my brother and I are self-appointed coffee connoisseurs, we looked for local shops in Paso Robles as a pick-me-up for the rest of our travels. The workers were extremely welcoming and the service was exceptional. We ordered an Ice Chai latte, Caramel latte, and two AMSTRDM sandos. Unfortunately, not pictured because it was devoured, the sandwiches were made to order and was the best first bite of the morning. Accompanied by the delicious lattes that were enjoyably sweet, but did not mask the flavor of the coffee, this made for the perfect stop in Paso Robles. It is family friendly with tables for larger parties, but also perfect for a solo trip to enjoy the town of Paso Robles and the shops that make this town so special. I was disappointed I was not able to stop on the way back home, but I will definitely revisit soon! read more

Naturally, and pretty typical of me, I became preoccupied with sitting in a lounge chair sipping a cortado at the shop. As we walked down the street towards AMSTRDM I caught glimpse of the large red pane windows open wide and allowing the coastal breeze flow into the shop. I giddily made my way to the shop with a really good feeling about it. Walking up to the coffee counter I caught glimpse of the inside of a piano gloriously displayed on the counter wall. AMSTRDM is a beautiful coffee house made perfect for travelers, folks visiting with one another, remote workers and people want to sit, relax and enjoy the setting. Here is the best part, the baristas were amazingly kind. They also made a pretty tasty cortado; which was exactly why I was there. Enjoying life one cortado at a time! read more
