We were there for breakfast yesterday, September 23, 2026. A friend that lives in Paso raved about this place so she wanted us to come and enjoy a nice breakfast here. We were looking forward to eating here. We had a young man a student from a local college, brought us water and made sure we were comfortable so we were off to a good start. Then this blonde hair waitress with a bunch of tattoos showed up and she was so rude, no smile, no personality. It was horrible. Never seen anything like it before. So we thought maybe she had a bad night or something so we ordered food never and even smiled. The place was empty so it's not like she was even busy. Horrible, horrible, horrible attitude. If it wasn't for the young man, forget his name a local college student we probably would've walked out. Then we see her talking to an elderly couple and she seemed to be nice with them, but in our group of five people nothing. Horrible people, skills, bad attitude no smile it was bad. I will never be back to that place with so many wonderful options in Paso. There's no reason to ever go back with her crappy attitude. read more

There are a few good breakfast spots in town that I favor, when I decide to eat out to start my morning. On this day, I was getting one of the cars detailed at Sunset North and decided to swing by Cowgirl Cafe for a slow and relaxed breakfast. Not my first rodeo here at Cowgirl. There is a very "Paso motif" call it western. It's open and inviting. ay be crowded on weekends, but this was a Wednesday morning and sleepy Paso was still sleeping. I took a seat at a booth and was immediately asked if I wanted to start my morning with coffee. Everything on the breakfast menu is good. I can't speak for the other meals, as this is one of the spots I frequent. Last visit for breakfast it was biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon. Portions are well sized and you won't leave hungry. The staff is fun loving and attentive and they know their regulars when they come in. That's part of the allure of a small community, where everyone seems to know everyone. My coffee cup was never empty, always coming around, asking if I wanted a refill. Located just half a block off 13th Street on Pine Street, you will find this wonderful cafe. Good people. Good food. I am ONE HUNDRED PERCENT not anywhere close to being a Cowboy, but I'll be damned if watching shows like Yellowstone on Paramount+ make me think twice about my life choices. I mean... It's a bit kitschy with the western motif. Lots of pictures on the walls of movies featuring, you guessed it, cowboys. The TV is on a constant loop of western shows. Bonanza was the theme for our visit today. The servers are very sweet, and the male busser runs all over the place bringing beverages and clearing tables. Hard working. Here's why it didn't work for me. Nothing really remotely healthy on the menu. All artery clogging, high fat options if that is your thing. It was quite warm inside, with the door open and oscillating fans. Maybe the air was broken? Water stains on the ceilings, and my biggest pet peeve, carpeting. It just didn't seem very clean due to it seeming quite run down. read more

We have been going here for years! The food is always great and everyone there is so nice and welcoming! This is our to-go breakfast spot

This cafe is a local hotspot. You will recognize this by the fact that there are plenty of pick-up trucks out front in the morning g when most other places are still closed. Friendly is an understatement for this place. The "Howdy, come on in" invitations were abundant. The host seated us and he sweetly asked if we wanted water with our coffee. Debbie was our server and she was so pleasant and friendly, we felt like family. My husband is a picky chicken fried steak connoisseur and gave it two thumbs up here. I had two pancakes the size of a basketball. The decor is rich in western memorabilia ( as to be expected) and fun to look at as you eat. More importantly is the attitude of the place. It feels authentically hometown welcoming with comfort food and nice people. Oh there is outdoor seating where a lot of folks sat today with pets. My friends and I ate here this morning. This is our second visit to Paso Robles this year and we had such a great time the first time at the Cowgirl Cafe that we had to come back. We were greeted immediately by a friendly fellow who showed us to a table, brought us water and coffee and menus. Our server arrived quickly with a wonderful smile, took our orders, suggested sides and was right back with our breakfast. Pancakes were enormous and fluffy topped with a huge amount of strawberries. I was in Paso Robles with my wife on the 4th of July and this was one of the few places open. It wasn't very busy despite being a holiday. We were seated right away and our server promptly brought us coffee and water. I ordered the kielbasa with eggs and my wife got the loaded potato skins. The food was good but not amazing. We were happy to have something to eat before going to Hearst Castle. It was a good option for it being our only option, but I would check out other spots before coming back here. read more

There was a short line for a table at around 10:30am on a Sunday. The only complaint my husband had was that the two tables at the back with the booths facing out had four legs. He didn't realize that and when we tried to scoot into the booth, he banged his leg really bad. Other than that, breakfast was uneventful. My husband had the Chile Verde Eggs special and my MIL had the Potato Skin & Eggs. I had two sides of a Burger Patty and a Fried Egg plus a Mimosa while my son indulged on a big Cheeseburger with Bacon and Fries. The fries were really good! He loved his burger and almost ate the whole thing. He said the had Thousand Island and was yummy. The veggies for his burger came on the side which worked out great because I was then able to eat them with my patty. My Mom really liked her breakfast of the Potato Skin & Eggs and it even looked delicious. The Chile Verde wasn't bad. We all left happy. read more

Delicious breakfast restaurant in Paso Robles, CA. Messaged for a reservation through Google as they close at 2 pm. Received message back to come on in. We were warmly greeted and allowed to choose our table. There is a parking lot across the street to accommodate our RV. We ordered two menu recommendations, the turkey bacon avocado on sourdough and breakfast special. With the sandwich several sides were offered and I chose potato salad when she said it was scratch made. It was very delicious. The sandwich also came with a pile of pickles which I liked. I ate only half of the sandwich as the portion was very large. My companion ordered the scrambled egg with biscuit and gravy and it overflowed the platter. He ate every bite and said it was incredible. Great coffee and two jumbo, housemade chocolate chip cookies to go. The place is decorated in a western style and plays black and white old cowboy shoes on the TV. Great place and I have saved it for future reference. You won't be disappointed. I was in pasó for 30 hours and had breakfast in paso in 2 different places; we had breakfast the morning we arrived and the following day just before heading out of town; I have to say, I had 2 completely different experiences for breakfast and this was by far the highlight. We were instantly greeted and seated when we walked in, we had drinks a few moments later and our food came not long after we placed our order. The portions served were well priced, a rare thing to find these days. And the food was tasty. The basics but done very well. The pancakes were not too heavy and the eggs made exactly as ordered. I ordered poached eggs the day before and was served soft boiled eggs. My partner has the biscuits with gravy and really enjoyed the dish as it can often be too salty. Looking around the establishment, you could tell the room was filled with locals and for good reason, they do the standards well. So if that's your cup of tea, I highly recommend choosing Cowgirl cafe for your most important meal of the day. read more

Came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning and were seated immediately. They had both indoor and outdoor (folding chairs and tables) seating, we opted for inside since it was chilly. Menu had both breakfast and lunch options. We ordered from the "eggs n' such" section. Everything here came with hash browns, home fries, or grits and your choice of toast, or an upgrade to biscuits and gravy for only $1 extra! I opted for the eggs and bacon with the biscuits and gravy and my boyfriend the eggs and country patty sausage with the same. While I normally don't love sausage, that sausage patty was amazing! The bacon was good too, but I'd probably go for the sausage next time. Portions of everything were great, didn't feel like they skimped on anything, especially those biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were absolutely swimming in the gravy. Price was pretty reasonable, ended up being $50 with tax + tip for the two of us. A little more than I'd expect based on the atmosphere, but you won't leave here hungry and the service was friendly and fast. The inside had a very retro western vibe to it. Unfortunately, our breakfast was really mediocre. I was craving biscuits and gravy and asked if their biscuits are good and was told they are and are made in-house. Well, I should've asked about the gravy which was not good. It wasn't a sausage gravy, it was more like a brown turkey gravy and overly salty. The hashbrowns were crispy but so thin as to be practically non-existent. Overpriced and there has to be better breakfasts elsewhere. read more

Wow! So yummy! First time in Paso Robles and my girlfriend said, do you want to go to a yummy brunch spot, but like, not fancy, just real good? My response? Heck yes! I got the Country Scramble which was sausage, scrambled eggs and gravy all on a biscuit. Literally, all of my favorite things in one dish! I added some ketchup to get some extra taste in there, and it was very yummy. I didn't finish the whole thing though - it was way too rich! But delicious! We also shared a pancake for the table, so that was fun! We needed some sweetness to our breakfast selection. My other friends got avocado and bacon omelette and my other friend got a veggie omelette. Options to add a biscuit and also order a side of fruit. I don't think the side of fruit is listed on the menu, but you can certainly ask for it! Anyway, the service was top notch and it definitely started our morning on the right foot!
