Chilaquiles with tri tip
Nichole M.

This place is still good! I actually enjoyed their chilaquiles; they came with plenty of tri-tip, and while the salsa didn't taste particularly Mexican or authentic, it was still flavorful. We were seated right away on a Sunday morning, which was a pleasant surprise. The biscuits and gravy were good, and I really liked the country potatoes. Overall, it was a solid breakfast spot with a nice variety of options. Cost is now about $40 for breakfast for two.

So much potatoes

We got breakfast burritos to go, and boy are they stingy on the eggs. I got the egg bacon and potato breakfast burrito. Guess what? About 90% of it was ALL POTATOES. I think I literally got 2 whole potatoes and 1 egg in a burrito. It was the worst breakfast burrito. I would not recommend. We decided to not come here the next day and went to our usual place in downtown Paso (Los Robles Cafe) where they don't have 99% potato and 1 egg in a burrito.

Monterey Omelette without beans

This restaurant is located in the downtown area of Templeton. There's plenty of street parking and a few spots in the back parking lot. We arrived on a Sunday a little after 9 and were greeted right away. Service is fast and efficient. I ordered the Monterey Omelette which was properly cooked. It had a little spice but not enough to take over the entire dish. There's a little something for everyone so if you're hungry, go to Joes!

Scrambler with sausage, mushroom, bell peppers and hashbrowns

Love Joe's! We've been coming here for years and it feels like family. Sandy, Miranda, and Diane are amazing and always take such great care of us no matter how busy they get on a beautiful Saturday morning. The food is incredible- highly recommend the secret menu chilaquiles verde, crispy hashbrowns, and (not pictured) the cinnamon roll. This is a long overdue review of my favorite breakfast spot, can't wait to come back.

Chilaquiles with tri-tip, refried beans and hash browns

The huevos rancheros were very good, as were the chilaquiles with tri-tip beef. Nice wood paneling gives the place an Old World vibe though the decor is All-American. The waitress was friendly and attentive.

My Lorraine omelette, wheat toast, hashbrowns, and coffee.

Update on my previous review as we were in the neighborhood. Food was still good. I had a Lorraine omelette, with bacon, spinach, tomatoes, and cheese. My husband had a ham and cheese omelette. We both got crispy hashbrowns, although the home fries looked really good. I got wheat toast and he got an English muffin. The service was great. We sat at the counter because it was packed. Three huge groups. Don't know our servers name, but she was good. Kept my coffee cup filled, and my husband's water glass filled. We left about 10 and the crowd had started to die down.

Excellent service! Get the Cinnamon Roll...so good! I had Chilaquiles.!Delicioso¡ If you like em, order extra crispy hashbrowns. They know what crispy really means!! The salsa is outstanding! He had the Machaca with hashbrowns and beans.... alll muy bueno. Can't wait to eat here again on our next pass through town.

Best breakfast in San Luis Obispo county. The cook handles eggs like a five star chef. Now...if they only served Bloody Marys!!

We had the chance to meet the owner, Erika, who is an absolute gem. She walked us through how she makes everything from scratch daily, and it truly shows when the plates arrive. The presentation was beautiful and the food tasted just as good as it looked. I ordered the red enchiladas and they were incredible. Erika was also so thoughtful and brought our son his own rice and beans to go along with my plate, which we really appreciated. My wife had the chicken taquitos and couldn't stop raving about how fresh and flavorful they were. Portions and pricing felt extremely fair, especially for the level of quality compared to the average North County Mexican spot. The downtown Templeton location is quaint and charming with easy parking. Between the amazing food and Erika's top notch service, we'll definitely be back often, especially once we move to Atascadero and are only about 10 minutes away. They have a nice menu with lots to choose from. They also have a chip and salsa bar that is complimentary with outstanding salsas that are all handmade in the restaurant. The green one (forgot the name) was my favorite. It was made with tomatillos, avocados, onions and cilantro. Yum. I met Edgar, the owner, who was a super nice guy. He has three of these restaurants and is a very busy guy. His daughter works there and was super sweet. We had taco salads, one with carnitas and the other with al pastor. Both were amazing.
