    Carnitas omelette
    Mark H.

Cake for breakfast. The bistro was pretty empty. The carnitas omelette was good. The portions for their price point seem pretty high for the area, especially for breakfast. The coffee was okay. Service was good. With the high prices, you'd be better off checking out other restaurants in the area with better prices and larger portions

Stopped by for brunch and heard it's a local favorite. Located in a small plaza with ample parking. I ordered the fish tacos which came with 2 tacos loaded with salsa, avocado, and fish. Initially, I wish it came with 3 tacos so it made it seem more worth for what you're paying for, but surprisingly the 2 tacos filled me up by the end. Pretty good tacos that were flavorful.

Sweetest people and owners ! We live in Paso and never eat in Atascadero but I am pretty sure we will be in A TOWN more now! Pasta and shrimp scampi rule! And they let you bring your own wine! Thank you for a relaxing fun early evening !

My favorite lunch place now serves dinner!! If you want homemade food this is the place. The focaccia bread is warm and light...so good! It is hard to eat just one piece! I ordered the salmon dinner...OMG! It was so good! The pesto was creamy and complemented the perfectly cooked salmon! I am not a rice eater but I did have the rice pilaf which was also wonderful! My husband ordered the seafood pasta special. He said the savory combination of shrimp, muscles, clams and cod along with the chorizo was fantastic! We were so full but they had a German chocolate cake special that we had to try! Again, another fabulous combination of the warm, fresh out of the oven, German chocolate cake with the delicious vanilla bean ice cream. The best part of the meal was the owners! They are a lovely local family! Do yourself a favor and come in for dinner !

The staff was very welcoming and able to meet my request for substitutions in my burrito. My grab and go meal was large, delicious and came with a side of fruit. The to go container was biodegradable, and in a paper bag, which is great for the environment! - The space is located in a small strip mall, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that it had unique decor and a welcoming waiting area with Books to browse while waiting (quick wait). - The parking is free and easy. There is a bathroom on site that was fully stocked with paper products. My only feedback would be to spruce up the decor in the bathroom and reconsider the pricing of add-ons for the burrito. I felt five dollars for bacon bits was a bit high.

New York steak with shrimp and my wife had the hamburger with sweet potato fries and both were absolutely delicious

I wanted to get scrambled eggs to go but they said they don't do a la carte so I spent $16.75 to get the scrambled eggs with potatoes and fruit. I was disappointed that the fruit was not cut up and the orange slice did not look appealing - ended up throwing the fruit out. Then the potatoes were too salty so I couldn't eat them after a few bites. The eggs were wet and tasted mediocre but at least I got some protein in. I'm on the road and thought a name like bistro would get a simple order down but it did not. For $17 bucks, it was a mistake to come in. I should of left when they said they couldn't whip up a side of eggs.

Atascadero Bistro has been one of our favorite local spots for breakfast and lunch, we were soooo excited to hear that they are opening for dinner as well. Tonight we finally got to try out their dinner menu and we were not disappointed. We started out with the house made focaccia which was delicious. All their bread is made in house and it never disappoints. My husband ordered the seafood pasta that was on special. This came with a delightful mushroom soup that reminded us of a French onion soup. The pasta dish was beautiful with perfectly cooked shrimp. I had the Creole chicken pasta which was a very generous portion and absolutely delicious. This is a family owned and run restaurant. The service is always fantastic. This husband and wife team is such a gem. So talented and kind. All the wood working in the restaurant is done by the chef. We are so happy that they have expanded their offerings to dinner!

I could barely see the pastries in the case. No worries though, I saw what I came in for. Purchased a French baguette for $3.70. Beyond amazed at the price. Excited to have some with my coffee, I ripped off a piece almost immediately and noticed the nice crust on the outside. 5 stars for the crust!! As for the flavor, it seemed a little flat. It was lacking some of the wheaty-tangy flavor you would get from a longer prove/fermentation. The inside of it was also missing all those nice deep pockets you see in a French baguette. Overall, not a bad baguette, but not one that you yearn for. I'd like to mention the young lady Annabel I had the privilege of meeting outside of the bakery. She was on a delivery run, but told me about their IG page, and we had a wonderful chat about cookies. Thank you for your time, Annabel, you are awesome!

They had the crunchy, flaky outside while being soft and buttery inside. This is now my favorite place to get a croissant. That seems popular and everyone sitting near me, was eating the almond one.

He went on and on so much she actually said "I was just clarifying, no need to be rude" and he about lost his mind. Kind of pathetic, actually. He was so rude I waited until he left even though I had already picked up my to go order. She was taking multiple orders at once and asked three customers what they wanted--I was the third. I clearly ordered an Italian with double meat. She repeated it back correctly, so there was no confusion on my end. When the sandwich was made, it was obvious it did not have double meat. I calmly pointed it out, and instead of correcting it, she argued with me--saying "that's extra meat." I clarified again: I ordered double meat and understand the difference. Her response? A dismissive tone and "well then it will be a double charge," as if I wasn't already aware of that. That's literally what I ordered. From there, her attitude completely deteriorated--eye rolling, snapping back, and accusing me of being rude for simply asking to receive what I paid for. When I asked for a manager, she said she was the manager. That's the real issue here. If this is how management handles basic customer interactions--arguing, dismissing, and deflecting instead of correcting a simple mistake--there's a serious leadership problem at this location. I don't mind paying for quality. I do mind being talked down to and treated like I'm the problem for expecting my order to be right. I've been coming in pretty regularly, but that ends today, I'll never come back to this location Do better.

They also offer a Queen's Tea served in the charming backyard, which looked absolutely adorable and made for some wonderful photos. The outdoor seating has a cozy garden feel, with an Alice in Wonderland vibe, while the High Tea room inside is intimate, with just four tables. One table seats four guests, and the other three seat two each. During our visit, it seemed like nearly every table was celebrating a birthday, which added to the festive atmosphere. Atmosphere and decorations are off the chart. We started by choosing our tea from a full page of loose-leaf tea selections. Each tea arrived in an adorable little teapot with a beautiful china teacup. Shortly afterward, we were served a small coleslaw, followed by the classic three-tiered tea tray. The tray included a lovely assortment of finger sandwiches, fresh scones with clotted cream and jam, crumpets with additional preserves, and a top tier filled with miniature pastries and macarons. The portions were just right, leaving you with a sweet finish without feeling overly full. High Tea was $50 per person, which we felt was well worth it for the experience. I'm not sure of the current price for the Queen's Tea. Be sure to leave a little time to browse the gift shop before you go. It's filled with everything tea lovers could want, including beautiful loose-leaf teas, charming teaware, and the cutest fascinator hats. There are also plenty of picture-perfect spots throughout the property, and don't skip the restroom...it's worth a peek! But I will say the fries were good once I dipped them in the dripping juices and sauce from the burger. But it was a very hearty burger and after a long drive, really hit the spot!
