I love a good hole in the wall that's a little divey and delivers with high quality food. Sadly, this fit the first part of that description. It's a hole in the wall alright, but the food I ordered wasn't great. The atmosphere was sketchy to say the least. It just didn't feel clean to me. The bathroom was right next to the cashier and kitchen so if you're a screamer, be prepared to have zero privacy. I figured a Bahn Mi would be great after a day of wine drinking. Although the bread was spot on, the pork was dry AF. And the lack of pickled veggies didn't help that fact, or give the sandwich that Bahn Mi essence. Maybe their Pho and other stuff is better, but I don't think I'd go back again. read more

Pho 4 U is in Atascadero within walking distance of their historic city hall. My wife and I were in town around July 4th, and on the 4th a lot of places were closed in observance of the holiday. Pho 4 U was one of the few places open could've been a reason why the place was packed. Their Vietnamese food wasn't the best we've had but it good the job done and seemed pretty authentic. read more

Vegan egg rolls were EXCELLENT, best I've had in a long time, maybe ever. Vegan pho was good, tofu was great, just wish there were more veggies in it. Portion was on the smaller side for pho (and the price). My biggest complaint is about the bowls. They are plastic and horribly stained. Just makes them look unclean and gives off a gross vibe because you are being reminded other peoples soup. Really unfortunate to be served food in such deeply stained plastic, especially given the food is hot and the plastic is probably leaching, given its obviously porous nature. Service was fairly quick. Staff were friendly. We would love to go back, but only if they get new bowls. read more

Stopped into a little Vietnamese spot today just for fresh rolls and what a great find. The rolls were packed with shrimp and had a really fresh, unique flavor that stood out right away. I ordered a pho noodles soup yesterday, nothing else the bill came out to be little over $21. The flavor is nothing special, kind of plain, the instant pho bought in grocery stores has better flavor. What surprised me is the amount of meat in it, I ordered steak and meat ball combo, they put three thin slices of beef and one meat ball cut in half. The chicken Pho soup is outstanding!! It's my fave soup over any other restaurant in this area. Staff is always courteous and friendly.

Giving this place three stars because it's not the greatest but it definitely satisfies the pho fix. The pho itself is quite tasty and I would come back again to try their other options, however the broth was somewhat lacking. Once I added some sriracha and salt it was great but as is the broth definitely is missing a little something. But if you want pho this is the place to go. Their popcorn chicken however... I was expecting something super crunchy loaded with flavor and it lacked both. The batter itself was lacking salt which didn't help when there was zero crunch to the chicken at all. It wasn't drenched in oil but definitely soggy and not as crunchy as it could've been. Also the portion amount for $10 is a tad diabolical, especially when it wasn't that tasty. Overall, I would just come here for the pho, but I feel as though the appetizers are not worth it for the money you pay (based on the pictures i saw online) They do however have a chicken curry and bahn mi that I will be coming back to try. I will say that customer service and speed is great so that is definitely a plus. Will def be coming back, but propably not for any appetizers. read more

The spring rolls were excellent, very fresh and unique with a crunchy add-in. Also split a Bah-Mi sandwich, made for a nice light lunch. Service was friendly and thoughtful bringing ice water without asking on a 95F day. Clean shop with 8 tables inside and several outside. read more

I am sorry but this was the most disappointing pho i've ever had. The broth was bland, but like unappetizing level bland. The meat was tough and did not taste good, even hoisin sauce couldn't save the dish. Their sriracha has a weird off taste to it, couldn't bother with it, I understand it's off brand but definitely not a good choice. I came in hungry and left feeling worse than when I came in. The ambiance was very dull and dead, but that isn't much of a factor when you consider the food. I would rather go to Al Pho or At Bites, but even those definitely aren't the top standard. I would recommend picking up Quoc Viet Pho soup base instead and making it at home 100%. read more

I felt doubtful when it came out because the broth was a little light and looked like it didn't have much flavor, but after adding some hoisin and sriracha it was pretty good. The meat wasn't very tender or flavorful, but good enough. The portion is smaller than most pho places but it was still enough for me since I'm not that big. Wow! This is like your g ma or aunt used to cook. Fresh ingredients but allowed the time to fully develop a depth of flavor! I really enjoyed beef pho and of special note, the shrimp spring rolls were plentiful and so so fresh. They make it special by placing a crunchy wonton kinda addition that makes it surprisingly delightful. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The owner even came out and talked for about ten minutes about the preparation of the food. Super nice! Came here on a Saturday afternoon to satisfy a pho craving. When you order an entre, app, and check in on yelp you get a free thai tea! The tea is not sweet nor too caffinated, perfectly creamy. They are taking dine-in customers, which a outdoor and indoor seating selection. Our orders came out pretty quickly and the service was great! We tried the crispy tofu which we thought definitely delivered on the crispy factor. Although we wished for slightly more salt, thats nothing we couldn't remedy with some table salt. Next the vegan egg rolls were again served crispy and not too oily. The filling was peppery and pretty good, the sweet and sour dipping sauce was a great pairing. The steak and beef pho came with a large portion of noodles but the topping to noodle ratio was a bit off. The meat portion seemed to be a bit lacking when compared to the noodles. While the broth was okay.....there was initial flavor but the soup seemed to be lacking in depth. Still a solid pho spot for SLO :) The chicken curry was a hit!! The broth had deep chicken flavor and a slight sweetness which made for a good soup body. You can either get a side of noodles or french baguette with your curry. I chose the later and THROUGHLY enjoyed the baguette, they served the bread toasted making for a crispy exterior and soft and pillowly interior. We all thought the broth lacked beef flavor. The combination pho did not include tendon which my fiancé thought would have. Overall, pho was just okay for us. Craving a banh mi, we popped into this little restaurant and got two grilled pork sandwiches to go. They did not disappoint. Perfect proportions of pork, vegetables, condiments, and spice.
