Finally catching up to a review of this local institution of a breakfast place. They have a very wide variety of breakfast options, including many items to satisfy a sweet tooth like mine. I was happy to see their most recent menu offered Nutella crepes, which were delicious and topped with fresh strawberries. My friend ordered the eggs Benedict, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Service was friendly and attentive. The environment feels a bit like having a meal at your favorite aunt's cozy home. This is by far one of my favorite breakfast places in the county.
3.5 stars. If Touch of Paso feels extra homey, it's because it was originally built as a home & later converted to the breakfast spot we see today. Though there was a steady stream of walk-ins (they don't accept reservations), my party was seated within 10 minutes in the enclosed patio. The host was quick to take our drink requests, so it was surprising that our waitress didn't appear for some time to take our food order. Touch of Paso is busy & unfortunately it shows in their laggy service. I ordered chilaquiles ($16) & added sliced avocado, which had a delicious red sauce & roasted poblano crema flavoring the tortilla chips, however there were a few missteps; the eggs I ordered over-medium was soft & jiggly & oozed yolk all over my dish. I substituted hash browns for beans & found them to be extremely oily. Despite their varied menu offering tempting-looking breakfast items, slow service & lack of attention to how eggs are cooked (you had one job, as they say) make me cautious to give them another shot.
Food was good. Service was quick. The building is a historical building so that's neat. They have gluten free pancakes waffles and French toast. I opted for the GF French toast combo and it was too much food for me so I took leftovers with us at the end. Our 1 year old had the kids 1 combo: eggs, sausage, toast, and we subbed the hash towns for fruit. It was a great amount of fruit and we even took some to go. My husband enjoyed his waffle and sausage and eggs. I had some decaf coffee and it was good-better than Starbucks! Bathrooms are individual stalls and kept clean-just old. Carpet throughout the restaurant kind of grossed me out but appeared clean.

I would definitely come back to try all their other options as the menu looked amazing!

There was no problem with substituting fruit for the hash browns either! I ordered the one egg (over easy) with bacon, hash browns, and sourdough toast and it was cooked perfectly. My bacon was crisp and so were my hashbrowns. The yolk of my egg was runny, but there was no goopy white; just the way I like it! The others enjoyed their orders just as much. If I ever get to Paso Robles again, I'd definitely return! Such a cute and warm little restaurant!
I just moved right down the street and am so happy they have gluten free options. The gluten free waffle isn't actually gluten free because it's made in the same waffle maker, but they will make your pancakes on a designated grill for you if you have an allergy. Highly recommend, amazing service that cares and recognizes you. Make this your stop if you're in town for breakfast or lunch!
Never had worse crepes in my life! I'm shocked why they're so bad considering how simple they are. These were hard and tough to chew. They are also not using Nutella it's more of a chocolate sauce which I'm not sure they should be allowed to call them Nutella crepes, I'll look into it more and report to proper agency if so.
This is a cute farmhouse theme cafe with several breakfast and lunch options. Portions are large and shareable. The staff were very kind and coffee was always full. We came in on a Friday morning with a party of 4 and it was semi full. The drinks came out fast. My only complaint was that it took awhile for us to order and then actually get our food. Other, than that, I would come back and recommend this place.
The staff was super friendly our waitress literally went above and beyond but not in annoying way just straigjt to the point and attentive other staff kept walking around every so often asking of we needed coffee refills the food was super good also. Bread is made in house every morning according to our waitress definitely a must try.
I am a local and didn't really want to share this post because I was worried that the wait would get out of control once the tourists discovered it. BUT Oh well, the secret must be shared. The staff here is phenomenal and the food is on point! If you get the luck to be served by Vicky she will make sure you have the best experience. I usually order the chilaquiles and my hubby orders the country breakfast. Whatever you order you will not be disappointed. This cafe is located on the corner of Pine and 14th not too far from the downtown area. Make sure to stop here and enjoy a meal, but don't tell too many people .

Looking for a change of pace from Joe's Place on our way to SoCal, we stopped here again and were exceptionally pleased with the delicious and generous servings, the courteous and efficient servers and the many customers who were enjoying a Touch of Paso like we were. A converted older home, outdoor seating and plenty of indoor seating though we enjoyed our 2 seats at the counter. I enjoyed chili verde enchiladas and eggs with refried beans, while hubby savored the French toast platter. We'll be back....for sure! read more

I just moved right down the street and am so happy they have gluten free options. Touch of Paso a comfy, cozy and family owned restaurant, doesn't look like your average restaurant from the exterior. Yes, even though the sign outside says it, the appearance is of a house but the inside feels like you're visiting someone's home. With some patio seating(w/heaters for cold days) where possibly furry friends can come and enjoy, to indoor seating and more seating in an enclosed porch. We were greeted and seated right away by the friendly hostess. Wasn't super busy until after we finished up with our meals, you can see a couple of people waiting to be seated. Our waitress was very friendly, polite and attentive with all her tables. She wasn't the only one running around, there were multiple servers/employees checking on all the customers, cleaning tables, and taking drink orders. There's plenty of options on the menu from sweet to savory. Besides good customer service, the food was far behind. We weren't sure if lunch could be ordered early but without hesitation our server said lunch menu was also available to order, we ordered the cowboy omelette w/sourdough toast and the fried chicken sandwich w/sweet potato fries. The omelette was delicious, just wished the ham was a bit more chopped up (or possibly w/diced ham), the gravy on top was chefs kiss, definitely makes me want to try their chicken fried steak on the next visit! The chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside and tender, paired with the sweet potatoes fries. So stop by if you're a local or if you're visiting beautiful Paso. read more

Food was great, and plated beautifully. In all honesty, the prices were so reasonable, I didn't expect presentation to be as beautiful as it was. The french toast was a definite must have. Two bites were left at the end of it. The chili supreme and mashed potatoes are great as well. Service was excellent. The waitresses and waiters were very kind and it felt like we were family. If you're looking for a cheap and quick eat, this place is great. Prepare to want to come back and bring friends. read more

Pancakes have a unique taste. Do NOT recommend their French toast though. It was super dry and couldn't taste the cinnamon. Service was mediocre. We felt rushed as they gave us the bill 5 minutes after getting our food. Definitely not a place to sit and chat for a while. They want customers out ASAP. First breakfast place we tried coming down to Paso Robles and it's a cute little place, get there early incase you can't find parking I believe they have parking on the side of the place. We got the chilaquiles since I saw a lot of reviews on here about them and let me just say they were so BOMB!!! They asked if we wanted the green or red sauce and we asked for red and wow the food was delicious !!!also they ask if we wanted avocado and my bf chose no avocado and i chose avocado! Orange juice as well!! I'll definitely come back and recommend friends to come here !! Update: before we left Paso Robles to go back home we stopped by touch of Paso again and ate the chilaquiles again ! ahhh they are just so good ! I had a longer stay in Paso and so on a weekday morning was looking for a breakfast spot and found Touch of Paso. It was a short walk from my Airbnb so I hoofed it. The restaurant is basically a small house and I was worried that because of that my dog wouldn't be allowed but we got seated in the covered patio which was great because it kept the bugs out but we still got to enjoy the outdoors. It was pretty quiet so our server doted on us and my dog. He's usually pretty chill but he does get antsy and under foot sometimes. She got him some water, was friendly with him and her recommendation on getting the Chili Verde Omelette which was less an omelette than a roasted pork plate with eggs. I'm usually not that excited about green chile-because it's often just a texture and not a taste but with the pork made it this delicious, pork-y mess. Her rec was on point because while I was definitely expecting something hearty this was so much heartier than I anticipated and it kept my stomach lined for the wineries. read more

Cute little homey cafe. The restaurant is in what looks like an old house. We sat in an enclosed patio that felt like we were outside, but still kept warm. They have a pretty large menu for breakfast and I'm glad that they have a "lighter side" section of the menu as well. Food: both the berry and Nutella crepes were beautifully presented and the kids ate every bite and loved them. I ordered a lighter side option, that included one egg, two slices of bacon, and two pancakes. The bacon was a little over cooked for my liking, but the eggs and pancakes were good. Pancakes came with soft butter and syrup as well. I also tried a bit of the Belgium waffle, which was pretty good. Service: our server was attentive with bringing drinks and food came out quickly. read more

Decided to give this place a try for breakfast while we were traveling and it did not disappoint! We got there a little before 9am on a Saturday and for a party of 4, got seated right away. I got the corn flake French toast (stuffed with cream cheese in the middle and adorned with delicious fresh berries on top) and it is a MUST try! read more

Service was great, kind and friendly server and the restaurant was clean. Food was ok, ordered the Vhile Verde breakfast enchiladas, my food arrived cold, the cheese in the enchiladas was not melted and the chile Verde was more like a sauce, didn't have enough meat in it and the meat that was in it was minimal and stringy. The eggs were warm when I got tye 0late so they possibly put my food on the plate while waiting for the eggs to be done since the eggs were the only warm item, not even the beans were warm. Overall, it had a good taste, but I would or something a little more hardly next time. read more
