I ordered the Chipotle Panini with side of Peanut Noodles, which came out to be around $10 which is quite the steal! The panini was reasonably sized and they gave a hearty helping of the peanut noodles on the side! Plus, a pickle is included. Delicious! The sandwich was pretty good. Good amount of turkey and bacon but I wish there was more avocado. I got a few slivers and wished there was more to balance out the meat in this sandwich. The peanut noodles were really the star of this meal. Great flavor in the noodles. They are spicy and acidic with a nice compliment to the nutty and fatty flavor in the sauce. I would definitely get this as a side item again! Overall, Lola's Cafe is a steal. Located right next to the Walkway Over the Hudson it is a great lunch spot to go grab food after a nice walk. Came here for brunch before our 2+ mile walk on Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park (to/fro). Small café but we came early as a group of 8 people. Others were good with their choices. didn't take too long to get our food since we were early. will have to try something else next time... This is a great little gem!! Stopped here on a rainy spring Monday with my daughter while visiting the area. The homemade tomato basil soup really hit the spot! Unlike most soups, it was not overly salted at all- just fresh garlic and herb flavors. We both had the mozzarella tomato panini. Lola's!!! A quaint, clean and friendly stop with a creative menu and awesome quality food. I told a few friends I was in the Poughkeepsie area and they all told me to eat at Lola's, unprompted for recommendations. So of course I had to try it. It's located on a convenient street just steps from from the Hudson River Walkway (really great, btw). The vibe is much like a coffee house and a trendy deli got married. The menu has lots of choices, some indulgent and some lighter. I really liked the team behind the counter worked together really well. It got super busy during a lunch rush and all hands on deck were friendly and efficient. I guess they deliver(?) or do large call-ahead orders because they were pumpin' our orders fast...including brewing a new pot of coffee when I ordered a large. My sandwich and salad were incredibly flavorful and fresh (nobody likes wilted lettuce am I right). So good, in fact, I went back again the SAME DAY. I say that with no shame at all. This is a decent spot for lunch before/after going over the walkway. However, it is nothing outstanding; it is pretty basic looking. I had the ahi tuna sandwich with the black bean & corn salad as my side dish. They were both solid and worth it for the price. However, they took forever to prepare the food with no warning. When they took our order, there had been no line and they said the food would "come right out." But it turns out that a lot of the people seated indoors and hanging around the outside were waiting for their orders. There is no outdoor seating, and the indoor seating is fairly crowded, so it's not the best place for COVID concerns. They do have a clean bathroom though, so if you are doing the walkway, it could be a nice pitstop. read more

There are just a handful of items I have ordered at Lola's and maybe I shouldn't be so quick to give them 5 stars but for the two items we always get from them, they excel every single time, so these stars are for cuisine as well as their consistency! Lola's is our go-to veggie burger spot. They have the biggest, juiciest and most satisfying black bean burgers I have ever had! My family has ordered these burgers for over a year now and we have never been disappointed (the most recent being two weeks ago and I think they're actually tasting better.... Check out the pics!). The spot: Although Lola's seems to be very tiny from the outside, it's bigger than it looks and has a few tables if you decide to dine in. It feels very welcoming and chic, and the decor is pretty calming and cool. There is usually a high number of young adults and college-aged folks there when we visit (probably because of its awesome location near the famous walkway and the quickness with which they bring your food out). The food: As mentioned, we get the black bean burger there. The patty is huge and holds up nicely when I have to cut it in half (or in fours) so I can get it in my mouth. We often get it with fries but I am sure you can get it with other sides. Our other guilty pleasure are their Oatmeal Cranberry cookies. WOW! They are just a-mazingly soft, chewy, delicious and addictive. If you have never had one or don't know they have that cookie option it's because we usually buy ALL of them when we swing over (so that we constantly have a stash at home). I know I have had a veggie bowl a lonnnng time ago and I am sure I enjoyed it, but I want to just concentrate on what I got recently. Quaint, small cafe in Poughkeepsie with some very delicious food options. They close at 4 and then reopen, and when we went around 3:20, the place was crowded as can be. We had to wait for our food standing up for maybe twenty minutes until somebody finally left. The service was very friendly, and there's a coffee bar and some grab and go peanut noodles and dessert. I ordered a southwest bowl and got it with salad instead; my boyfriend got the short rib grilled cheese with pesto salad as a side. I got the peanut noodles as a side and they were delicious! I wish I got it as my main meal, they had just the right kick and the peanut sauce was fantastic. The sourdough bread for the grilled cheese had the perfect crunch and it was a mixture of sweet and salty. The pesto salad was also delicious, and my black bean avocado salad was quite good as well.
