Wow luckily for me, the first place we went today didn't allow for our 4 year old guest (21+ only). So the six of us started walking back towards the car and came across Locus, this fun and funky little coffee / wine / beer "and some food" shop! First off, they're super clean. I was super impressed with Jessica and Kaycee (the owners). Jessica took our order with no note taking at all with all orders spot on!! All the food was FABULOUS, very tasty and visually appealing. The restaurant itself is clean (did I mention how clean it is?!?) and stylish. The food menu is plentiful and varied. My grown son commented that after having the ham wrap, (which was super tasty), he still had enough room for dessert!! I am so, so stuffed after a gluten free bacon breakfast sandwich and an apple shareable dessert. Everything was super yum! I highly recommend trying this spot our next time you're in Bellingham! It's been a few months now since I moved to town and this is my favorite spot in town! The staff is so incredible. They're welcoming, attentive and kind . The atmosphere is always nice with happy energetic music and beautiful art on the walls. It's unique in its own way, has wifi, and has lots of great seating inside and out! The drinks and food never disappoints. I'm always inclined to try new items because it's just that good. This is a great place to get work done, to catch up with friends or to just treat yourself to a little something. Do yourself a favor and check out this little gem. I was visiting Bellingham for a class, and my Airbnb suddenly lost power. Found this gem of a place when looking for a cafe with power outlets. The person who helped me was SO SWEET, and helped me pick out a beet salad and a drink that fit within my restrictions (no dairy, no caffeine) without making me feel weird at all. So glad we stopped in here and decided to stay! Owned by two very friendly and delightful women, this fun breakfast/lunch spot was both beautiful and delicious! Plus they serve wine, beer and cider which is always a plus :) They remain open during Covid-19 and I highly recommend trying them out. This place is a Bellingham best! I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. The owners of Locus are always so friendly, welcoming and helpful with the most creative menu of drinks. They serve the best coffee in town and make my favorite oat milk latte with their homemade espresso whip. The energy, caffeine and togo breakfast wraps make my day. I have to advise everyone to try their wine slushee with pop rocks and Italian sodas. They have the best beer on tap and a great selection of wine. Don't drink alcohol? Don't worry, just tell Kaycee and Jessica and they'll whip up a creative mocktail catered to your liking! My daughter and I enjoyed a fabulous lunch over WWU parent weekend. We were greeted right away and were lead to a cozy table in the corner. The menu had so many tasty sounding dishes and drinks in it that we had a hard time deciding what to order. I don't remember the exact names of everything we had, but everything was delicious! I enjoyed a decadent brie and bacon sandwich and my daughter loved her bacon wrap. My Blue Moon Latte was so very tasty and my daughter had the Lavender Matcha, which was equally as tasty. If you are in Bellingham, visiting Locus is a must! As we were approaching the shop we noticed the nice outdoor space that they have in front and to the side. It's covered so even on a rainy summer day they provide the perfect outdoor seating. The store was busy but the staff immediately greeted us as we walked in. The store's vibe is very nice. They have graffiti on the walls which makes for a very cool and artistic Spot. I ordered an iced white mocha and a sausage breakfast burrito with house sauce. The coffee was so tasty! It's clear that the baristas know how to make a good espresso shot and the coffee is good quality. The burrito was so tasty! It was perfectly crispy on the outside and filled with big chunks of sausage and plenty of eggs and cheese. The egg was fluffy and light. The house sauce was ranch based and really good. It paired well with the burrito. On my way out I saw a few other food dishes that looked really good too. The foodie in me can't wait to go back so I can try out more of their food and coffee. We stumbled upon this gem in downtown Bellingham in our search for what we call "fancy coffee." Note: we only go out for espresso about 3x/year, so it's a big treat...but we are naive about the current coffee nomenclature. Yolanda, our server at Locus, patiently and enthusiastically explained things to us, including "white coffee," which I tried in a sugar-free macchiato. I'm a dark roast lover, but the toasted nuttiness of the "white" coffee bean had me in a caffeinated state of bliss. My husband loves his coffee bevy too -- a spicy blend with maple and molasses. The decor is bright, funky and fun, and as previously mentioned, service was to notch (thanks Yolanda)! We now might have to do "fancy coffee" once a month (at least). read more

Every time I have gotten anything from Locus I have been pleasantly surprised with the quality. I originally stopped in when they were partnering with Greektown and making a milkshake with. Baklava blended into it (which was absolutely divine and I wish they would do it again.) The next time we stopped because we had an appointment at the dog cafe that we were early for so we popped in for cookies and some drinks. I chose snickerdoodle and my child chose chocolate chip. It was easily one of the best snickerdoodles I have ever had. Perfectly soft with lightly crisp edges. The strawberry milkshake was quickly devoured by my child but what I did manage to try was also delicious. The staff was exceptionally friendly and the atmosphere of the place is cozy yet airy. Locus does all the little things right. Arriving at this authentic, hole in the wall coffee shop was confusing at first as we didn't know where to order or sit. However, a friendly server spotted us and informed us that we can choose wherever to sit and was over at our table right away to collect drink orders. To drink, I ordered the 12oz freshly brewed coffee which was served in an insulated cup which kept the outside of the cup cool while the coffee inside was piping hot. The coffee carried its flavor profile quite well and tasted very smooth. The ambiance at Locus is second to none. Comfortable seating, distance between other parties, and lively music contributed to the comforting nature. I ordered the chorizo wrap to eat. Appropriately priced and stuffed with chorizo, Spanish rice, egg, cheese, and their garlic chive cream cheese, this wrap was packed with flavor. Upon the check arriving to the table, the waitress informed us that although we have paid we are free to stay and use the space for however long we need. This bar is still open during COVID and one of the most unique menus I have seen in many years. The breakfast burritos especially are nice extra crispy and never soggy. The beer and wine selection has all of everyone's favorites and some options that I haven't seen anywhere else.
