If you love wine and food, this is THE place in town. My girlfriend and I had a date night out. We came here mostly for a charcuterie plate, but it turned out to be least impressive. However, we were both very pleased with the small plates that we shared: "asparagus" and "potatoes" with caviar. SMALL PLATES The asparagus looked like a salad but was a bit warm to our surprise. I enjoyed the different flavors put together, including some bitterness. My absolute favorite is the potatoes. We ordered it with caviar, which only cost $8 extra! CHARCUTERIE We ordered the imported charcuterie board for 2. It was presented nicely, but there was nothing to brag about other than that. The amount of food was right for 2, but it's because there's lot of bread but there's little cheese and cured meat. The quality of the cheese and the meat was just ok. COST We were shocked how inexpensive it was. We ordered 2 small plates, a charcuterie board for 2 people, a bottle of Spanish wine, a slice of olive oil cake, and 2 coffees. It all added up to only about $100. It's shocking as it includes a bottle of wine. The coffee was pour over, and they made one cup at a time, but it was only $3! CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM The small plates were excellent, but the charcuterie plate needs more work. There should be more cheese and meat both in terms of the quantity but also the variation (and less bread). Nice dining area and mood lighting. My party of 5 ordered a variety of dishes. The meat and cheese charcuterie for 4 was VERY skimpy in meat -overpriced. The Gem salad was tasty and flavorful with the apples. The pate' was runny and not good at all. The caviar onion dip with Ruffles potato chips was salty and satisfying. Chorizo dish was disappointing as it was reheated. Finally, the Walu Crudo was incredibly fresh and flavorful. It was a very small portion and not worth the price. The paired wine was lovely. The owner came over to visit our table a couple of times and was friendly. Overall, I was impressed with only 2 of the 5 dishes and felt the entire meal was overpriced. read more

Nomad is a great option for wine and small bites. We love coming here for dates and drinkies. The menu is seasonal and rotates often which keeps things interesting. I love how they identify their local farmers and vendors on the menu. First and likely last time customer! Upon entering this establishment with my significant other and good friend on a Saturday evening, we were asked if we had a reservation...for a nearly empty space. After that, it appeared that we were vetted by the host and possible individual in charge; deemed most appropriate for a back sitting area by the toilets. I likely looked least impressive in my jeans and sweatshirt, but come on. It's Bellingham. Large menu. High prices. Perceived judgement. Such a beautiful place with amazing, creative dishes, and kind staff! This was our first time here and we made our own charcuterie board. We thought everything was super affordable for the portion and loved picking and choosing our own ingredients. The vegan salami was super good and I loved having an option for a vegan meat. The burrata was great too! The crudo had great unique flavors, my partner loved both the meat dishes, and the warm German potato salad was sooo good. Dessert was great too! We left feeling so full which is nice for a tapas/charcuterie place. We're super excited to continue coming here and I love that the menu rotates so there will be new stuff for us to try. What a outstanding experience!! We shared plates between the four of us. Tartare was the BEST. Along with Crudo which has Albacore, tomatillo, fennel and thin sliced radishes. Lots of flavor combinations with the Meat and Cheese which complimented a selection of delicious wines. We finished with the Blue Cheese with comb honey accompanied by white and ruby port. We were looking for a late dinner after a movie at the Pickford. My daughter had been at Nomad on the weekend and raved about it, so we tried it. Our first impressions: we loved the ambiance: pleasing, low key, spacious seating, tasteful art and pleasant background music. It felt good to be there. The menu was impressive and we tried 4 different tapas: Pork bellies, Crudos (raw tuna), beets and carrots. They were all delicious with delightfully unique and enticing flavors. Nomad is one of our favorites! The small plates are incredible, and change regularly. The menu is full of familiar foods (meatballs, potato salad, even tinned fish) with small creative touches that elevate the dish. (Potatoes chips with French onion dip -- and caviar!) I also like how dishes start appearing quickly and then keep coming at a consistent pace. It's the best kind of foodie grazing, and more fun than a long wait with big dishes delivered all at once. I volunteer at the Pickford and have been curious about this place since it opened 3-4 months ago. My sister and I finally went, on this beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon and WOW! It was fantastic! We had the heirloom tomatoes and buratta salad and cruda with tuna and pistachios and two great wines and OMG SO TASTY! So flavorful and unique without being overly showy, if that makes sense. Absolutely amazing food experience. I have heard folks concerned about their prices and so I feel the need to provide an illustration: The night before, the same two of us went to a Bellingham Mexican restaurant with locations in both Fairhaven and Downtown mere blocks from Nomad. We each ordered fish tacos and an enchilada which came with rice and beans and a margarita a piece. The fish tacos were only edible and the rest was fine as we were in the mood for Americanized Mexican food. The kicker is that we paid MORE for the mediocre Mexican food than we did for three glasses of great wine each and the aforementioned buratta salad, a side of bread, and the crudo. We were able to snag a table for 4 on Dec. 30th, and what a way to celebrate the end of a pretty crazy year. We jokingly said, "we'll take one of everything" when we fist sat down...and we got pretty close! Everything was delicious and well portioned. Our server steered us towards complementary dishes, and we kept a menu on the table to order course after course. It was a really relaxed and fun meal. Love this place. Makes me feel like I'm back in France. Enjoy sharing a charcuterie with their Gem salad and then finishing with either their tasty caramel ice cream or chocolate mousse (to die for). Wine selection is extensive and good and they serve Greenwood cider which is my favorite. Co-owners Frances and Brian are very welcoming and conscientious about serving locally sourced food as well as better European specialities. Didn't end up staying because the hostess made my mom so uncomfortable for asking if there was an option for a wine flight and answering all questions condescendingly like we were idiots for even asking. What kind of "wine bar" doesn't do a tasting flight and makes you feel stupid for asking? As we were leaving I then hear her muttering under her breath about us as we walk out the door. Very disappointed as we had similar experience to some others. We asked to be seated away from the door and were seated in front of the door when it was chilly and breezy last night. While the hostess almost laughably tried to say we were away from the door. Our waiter tried to move us but appeared he was over ruled. It was obvious a younger hipper group wanted the door open. Even when there were obvious tables in the back they didn't move us. We did eat (with coats on). They did provide dairy free options and broccoli was tasty thus the 2 stars. read more
