a hamburger and french fries in a basket

TLDR: a great burger that goes will with the brewery This little food trailer sits directly in front of Draught House. It's a pretty simple "order on your phone", which I generally don't like as much, but it is what it is. I ordered the Jalapeno Bacon House burger with fries. Considering it's pub food served out of a trailer, It was really great. Really great fries, juicy burger. overall, a great burger to have with some beers.

This spot must be new but let me kick things off by saying it was good! People around me were ordering the burger and the fries (fried in your choice of peanut oil or duck fat) and the fish and chips and seemed happy. It's definitely pub style food but nothing was too heavy looking. We only got the pickle chips to share. They were cut thin with a cornmeal batter and were some of the best fried pickle items I've had. Not oily in the least. This is a good concept that complement the drinks at Draught House well. Confusingly they also sell beer, wine, and cider? All in cans, so head inside for draft.

Best falafel ever you guys omg. ain't nobody like dry falafel and this falafel is far from dry. ALSO - the chicken sandwich is one of the best I've had. Perfectly fried, crunchy pickle, tasteful sauce, fresh bib lettuce, wtf. & those might have been the best French fries I've ever had. This chef has secrets.

Fish & chips- best ever! Devoured.

Good food. Nice outdoor bar. Expect to wait over an hour for your food from Thursday nights on, and if the weather's nice.

Great concept for a Food truck I love me some Fish and Chips after spending many years in Scotland…read moreeating real Fish and Chips. The prices seems very reasonable considering you are eating from a food truck. You get three good size pieces with you order, small chips ( double fried french fries), ketchup, malt vinegar, also tartar sauce and a couple of other dips. They have clam chowder soup and type types of drinks beside water. Bottled water is $2.00 very reasonable. Soda's are $3.00 each. Spent around 17 dollars for fish and chips. Service was very good when placing your order the gentlemen tells you that it will take 5-7 minutes which is reasonable for a food truck. Looked like three people working inside the truck Had a good size line when I pulled up to order. You eat in your vehicle or on the tail gate of your truck This food truck was in the Lowes Parking Lot in Temple, Texas. I had some great COD (4 pieces got an extra one) they cooked it perfectly the best I have had in a long time. Not impressed with the fries, was hoping for chip cut potatoes like you get overseas.

Small handful of very greasy french fries. Had the worst heartburn all day, still have it today. We eat there nearly every time it's in our area, last month a bit smaller than usual, prices are higher this month, quality and quantity of food has slipped considerably. We have a huge family who won't bother to visit again

I had hoped we would get an outdoor table to appreciate the view but all tables were booked when I made the reservation and were still booked when we got there a bit early. It was also overcast that day. Even though we were a bit early, they were able to seat us quickly. We ended up just having drinks and one side item (yummy squash dish). We made the decision to leave before a full meal because the menu wasn't as vegetarian and gluten free friendly as we'd thought it might be. Danny was our waiter and he was very understanding! He gave us several great drink recommendations. We all very much enjoyed our cocktails and mocktail with a side appetizer of squash. We appreciated the discount on valet parking if you eat at Nido and get your ticket validated. I'm sure I'll be back here on a sunny day and book far enough in advance to sit outside.

The cocktails were delicious, although definitely on the pricey side. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting. The portions were extremely small, and the prices felt very steep for both the quality and the amount served. While the presentation was nice, the taste simply didn't justify the cost. On top of that, having to pay $15 for valet added even more to an already expensive evening. Overall, Nido is worth visiting once for the views and a cocktail, but I personally wouldn't return for dinner. There are plenty of other spots in Austin that offer much better value for the price.

After making the reservation, I messaged the restaurant to let them know that we would have a doggie with us and to make sure that we were able to sit on the patio to allow for said dog. The restaurant had prompt communication back stating they would note the reservation, which I really appreciate it. They were having a private event so part of the patio was taken however they still had ample space for other patrons to enjoy the outdoor area. Part of three our server I didn't catch their name was just OK. They ended up at one point accidentally pouring water into my wine glass for a refill and they did replace the partial glass of wine. Food wise though was on point. Got the whipped ricotta and bone marrow to start then pork shoulder, beef shoulder and fried chicken for the mains. All was delicious with healthy portions for left overs. The original order included Brussels sprouts as well but those didn't make it to the table nor on the ticket. Beverages were fine as well the area of improvement would be to ask if another round would be needed. As mentioned before the service was just ok as we didn't really get checked on often enough. Overall good experience and place to take friends and fur babies!

The buttered crab fingers were SO damn good we ordered another. The smoked trout dip was lovely. The shishitos were surprisingly spicy but I enjoyed that. The fried oyster slider was only fine, and I would probably skip that going forward (I think it's a Gulf oyster). But the raw East Coast oysters were delicious! Mains: i tried the lobster orrechiette ($46 on the day I was there) and one of the specials of the day, a pompano with kabocha and gailan. Both were great but I really especially loved the creamy lobster pasta. After a long week at work, it just really hit the spot. For dessert, we tried the pot du (chocolate) crème, the flourless chocolate torte, and the olive oil cake with blackberry sauce. My favorite was the pot du crème which was so smooth and decadent. The flourless chocolate torte felt a little lost under all the cream, and the olive oil cake was just a little too sweet for my tastes. But others in my group loved those ones. This place is so unassuming from the outside but so so lovely on the inside.

A Seafood Lover's Dream -- Fresh, Soulful, Unforgettable…read more If you haven't yet discovered Mongers Market + Kitchen, consider this your sign to go -- and go soon. After just one visit, it's easy for me to understand why the buzz refuses to die down. The Food: Fresh, Chef-Driven, and Exceptional Mongers lives and breathes quality seafood, and it shows in every single dish. Daily fish specials, like the superb halibut with lemon tarragon beurre blanc sauce I had today, keep the menu feeling alive and seasonal, and the creatively curated menu selections are outstanding. Every dish feels intentional, ingredient-forward, and deeply satisfying. The Atmosphere: Casual Meets Upscale The space strikes a balance that isn't easy to pull off -- unobtrusively nautical-themed and cozy without veering into kitschy territory, rustic without feeling rough around the edges. It's the kind of place that works equally well for a relaxed date night or an intimate dinner with close friends. The warm lighting, close-set tables, and unhurried pace create an atmosphere that encourages you to slow down, order another round of oysters, and stay a while. Small touches--coastal blue tinted water glasses, discreet deco lamps on the exquisitely tiled bar--further convey the establishment's understated, Austin-aligned elegance. The Service: Knowledgeable and Genuinely Attentive The staff here know their seafood, and they're happy to talk about it. Whether you're debating between the crudo and the fish special or trying to navigate the market's fresh offerings, the team brings a friendly confidence and attentiveness that elevates the whole experience. They're the kind of servers who enhance your meal rather than simply facilitate it. The Market: A Bonus Worth Celebrating One of Mongers' most charming features is its retail market component, where you can take home fresh fish and prepared items on your way out. It's a thoughtful touch that extends the experience well beyond the table and speaks to the establishment's genuine love of great seafood in all its forms. On Pricing and Happy Hour Yes, Mongers leans toward the higher end of the price spectrum -- but for the quality on the plate, it's more than justified. That said, the ample lunch menu offers a bit of a price break and their happy hour is a smart way to sample what this kitchen does best at a more accessible price point, and it's become something of a local institution in its own right. Mongers Market + Kitchen isn't just a meal -- it's an experience that lingers long after the last bite. Don't miss it.
