Without question, our Launderette dinner tonight was the best meal that my wife and I have had…read moreduring our one week vacation in Texas. Everything we had was absolutely delicious. The chicken thighs and broccolini were grilled to perfection. My wife's hamburger was juicy and delicious with tasty homemade pickles. The french fries were divine. And, to top it all off, the very unique carrot cake with toasted, honey ice cream was the best I've ever tasted Our server, John, was fabulous. He really made us feel welcome and provided us with many tips about what to do and where to eat in Austin. I especially appreciate his sharing how orange wine is made. When we come back to Austin, we will definitely go to Launderette for a meal and we hope to have John server

Although I've enjoyed other visits to Launderette, the food this time was a miss. Staff was great…read more(seated quickly with options, bartender handling the bartop was attentive and friendly) so don't want to take anything away from them. The striped bass crudo could use a menu update. The peppers being used (I forget what the bartender said it was specifically) added a solid building heat to the dish. While I am a spice fan (hence the chicken thigh order with the scotch bonnet aioli) for any guests who don't like spice this would be an unwelcome surprise. On that note - the usage of the peppers should probably be dialed back. From the first bite, the peppers completely overwhelmed the other ingredient notes and instead of an expected umami and citrus bite it's just pepper heat. The avocado does nothing to balance that out so you sadly lose everything the menu says you'll get, and instead get a primary ingredient not listed. The chicken thighs did have a nicely rendered and crisped skin, good cook temp/texture esp with it being on bone. Unfortunately, the dish just tasted flat. I didn't get any of the expected savory and richness from the tomato/cacciatore preparation and there was zero heat in the dish or even the aioli tasted by itself.

Amazing Food, Incredible Drinks & Fantastic Service!…read more What an absolutely fabulous experience at Moonshine Grill in Austin! From the food to the drinks to the service, everything was fantastic! Jessica took great care of us and made our visit even more enjoyable. The ambiance was also really nice, with cute rocking chairs out front and lots of mirrors all over the walls. We had the grilled cheese sandwich with burnt ends, and WOW! The combination of the amazing onions and gooey, delicious cheese was out of this world! We also ordered the sweet potatoes, and I cannot say enough about how good they were! Perfectly sweet and absolutely delicious. Seriously, SO SO good! And the drinks? The lavender lemonade was AMAZING! Refreshing, delicious, and the perfect complement to an already fabulous meal! Between the incredible food, fantastic drinks, and Jessica's wonderful service, this place was a winner all around! If you're in Austin, Moonshine Grill is definitely worth a stop! We loved every bite and sip!

We somehow snagged nearby street parking and a table for two with no wait despite it being a busy Saturday evening after a UT football game. Make a reservation if you have a large party or are on a tighter schedule. It's a bit loud for those seated in the lobby/entrance area, but totes a vibe. For food, we ordered the blackened catfish, brisket burnt ends quesadillas, and harvest bowl to share. Everything was delicious and served quickly, even with the aforementioned dinner rush. 10/10 would order the same items again. I was so appreciative of the server splitting the entree over two plates without us asking. Did I mention the complimentary popcorn and cornbread? Twas a FEAST. I'm already thinking about the next time we're going back! If not for Moonshine, definitely for the speakeasy downstairs.

One of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time…read more I was in Austin with a longtime friend from the franchise world and we decided to sit at the bar at Odd Duck. That turned out to be the best decision we made all night. Our bartender, Terrence, completely took care of us. Instead of trying to figure out what to order, we basically told him to bring us what he thought we should experience. From there, it turned into our own tasting menu... and it was phenomenal. Every dish had incredible depth of flavor, creativity and balance. There were combinations I probably never would have ordered on my own, and that was half the fun. We kept looking at each other after each course saying, "Are you kidding me?" What really made the night, though, was Terrence. He understood exactly what we were looking for, paced everything perfectly and turned a great dinner into a truly memorable experience. My friend was blown away and hasn't stopped talking about it. Neither have I. If you go to Odd Duck, sit at the bar, ask for Terrence and let him take care of you. Five stars... easily. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

The food, of the food. I don't like cornbread but this is not the typical dry cornbread, it's very moist, warm and the sage butter is delicious. We ordered 4-5 plates and divided it amongst 4 women, we were satisfied. I will come back to this place because it's farm to table and the menu changes constantly. The ambiance is divided in the first room when you entry is very classic, wooden chairs and dimmed light, there is a second room in the balcony where is more relaxed and has a nice view

It is a set menu and the portions are bite size. The experience was still great, but we definitely almost went for tacos immediately after. Comfortable... homely... and just about real good food. Staff are also in casual wear and they were all on top of everything. We sat at a booth but they had us facing the kitchen All the courses were Really tasty that its so hard to choose a favourite. A surprise was the pork with peaches. This is because I usually don't like pork very much except for bacon or pork belly but it was good. The restaurant automatically puts a 20% gratuity on the check but what i did love is that the server told us when he gave us the check and also highlighted it whereas many restaurants I feel try to get away with a sneaky double tip. Would absolutely love to come back!!

Great menu and food, cozy venue (with indoor and patio seating), efficient server with experience,…read moreand reasonable prices for Austin. Had not been to this restaurant in a good while, and was a last minute decision. Good choice. The whipped feta is always a treat -- light and creamy with a solid feta taste, but not overpowering, served with a few orange slices and thinly sliced almonds, and pita. Special dish! Beet salad excellent, but the Fresno peppers had way too much heat, so pushed them to side. My wife had the Moroccan curry, which had a very spot on Moroccan flavor (been there 3x), and was a large, filling portion so brought home leftovers. I had the grilled pork chop which was large, perfectly grill with a tasty bourbon-based glaze, served with a large roasted garlic clove. Wonderful dish. My wife had a white wine that she enjoyed and my martini, slightly dirty with olives (to start) was a large pour and very smooth. Enjoyable meal in a nice setting once again ...

The standout was the Brussel sprouts...crispy with this absolutely delicious drizzle. I ordered the Mezze plate with a flavor explosion and many desirable texture. It had lamb kabobs, fresh salad (emphasis on fresh) with thinly sliced cucumbers, finely sliced onions and creamy feta (never had creamy feta), red round sweet peppers, hummus with the most delightful pesto like sauce, and olives. Great catching up with my brother and excellent meal!

The restaurant itself is decorated so nice, it's picture perfect. I also really appreciate a restaurant committed to having options that are seed oil free, from local farms and also having options without refined sugar. Miranda was our server and she was so kind and attentive. She made sure we had a great experience and was a pleasure to talk to. To eat I ordered the classic breakfast and to drink I had the vanilla maca. I didn't love the vanilla maca, and I only blame myself for that. I have never had maca so I didn't know what to expect but the drink basically tasted like a chocolate protein shake. Which isn't bad but I wanted like more of a latte so that was on me. My meal however? Loved it. Everything was so flavorful and hit the spot exactly with what I wanted. I also really appreciate a salad with breakfast since this helps lower your glucose spike and so when a restaurant offers this I know they know true wellness!!! My girlfriends both ordered the avocado toast and loved it. One ordered the cherry vanilla limeade and enjoyed it as well, but as an avid cherry hater I didn't try it...but if you like cherry she recommends it! I would come back to Austin just to eat here again. So good. So jealous this isn't back home... did I mention that already??!!
