Food is what you would expect from a good diner. The wait is what you would expect from a 5 star steak house in Manhattan. My parents usually enjoy this place but on this particular night, no so much. Hour and 20 min wait for a side salad, omelette, grilled cheese and a panini. Not busy at all. 4 tables total. Maybe short staffed on this night. Maybe not. Strike 3 for us. We won't be back. read more

Wow! Can't really complain. This diner is clean and is a convenient ride from the beach. We were seated quickly and our waiter was in the ball. Ordered a cheeseburger deluxe and it was Delicious! The burger was full of flavor, the fries were crispy, and holy cow a fell portion of sweet coleslaw. They don't overcharge for seltzer which is nice. The staff couldn't be nicer and more attentive. Ordered a few apps the other night. Mozz sticks, nachos, etc. Tasted like it came straight out of the microwave. The cheese in the sticks did not stretch at all, the nachos were stale. Omelettes are large and good portions of home fries or French fries. Reason for dropping a star is they make a small mistake on about 1 out of 5 orders I place. I've ordered sunnyside eggs they give over easy, or egg white omelettes and they use regular eggs. I usually order fries well done and sometimes still need to be cooked another minute or two. I still order breakfast once a week from them, I just wish my order was correct every time read more

Ordered take out from here. Got the vegan chick'n caesar wrap and the vegan buffalo chick'n wrap with vegan cheese fries. Seriously the best vegan food I've ever had. I've been vegetarian for 15 years and vegan probably 9 years and I live in NYC. The chicken was so crispy and delicious! Would love to know what brand of chicken they use. Definitely worth the drive. I started coming here because of their new vegan menu! Everything I've tried so far is great. They have the impossible burger, nachos with impossible meat, buffalo chicken grilled cheese. I loved it all. I'm so happy there's finally a diner on Long Island with vegan options! They have good prices on alcoholic drinks also. Blatant racism. I had an extremely unsettling experience here . I came here twice and the second time the staff did a complete 180 . The waiter was very rude , said racial slurs in Spanish not realizing I was bilingual , everyone got treated differently than my black family and I . I had to go to the hospital soon after because I had HORRIBLE sharp abdominal pains , I have been vegan for 4 years and my stomach has never felt so horrible , I'm almost certain they didn't give me the appropriate meal only animal products would do that. I will NEVER go here again and I would suggest that any People of color to NEVER go here . VERY disappointed in the way this establishment operates . I really wanted to give them a chance simply because of how diverse their vegan menu is , but racism should never be tolerated . read more

Order came out wrong twice, the waiter was overwhelmed,he delivered the food and NEVER once checked back to make sure everything was good,we had to keep flagging down one of the bussers to help us out,terrible service. Ordered 2 Cheesburger deluxes and mini sliders with cheese (which they charge an extra $1.00 for) and ofcourse the mini sliders come out with NO CHEESE. I loved the California Wrap and would definitely recommend it. The staff was so nice and helpful. Even though it was lunch time on a Sunday I got a table very quickly and my food came fast. We love this diner, we really do, and I want to give it five stars. But the last two breakfast visits were very disappointing. The scrambled eggs were burned, and omelet-like, the bacon inedible (hubby almost broke a tooth!); we tried again the following week, and it was a repeat of the same. (It was pretty obvious on the plate; it should never have reached us at the table.) We really should have sent both meals back. My pancakes were not up to the award-winning standard, either. I'm hoping the focus will be returned to the classics; I know the vegan trend is popular, but lots of folks still come for the great breakfasts, too. read more

I don't write reviews often by I felt compelled to write one about this establishment. I stopped in on a sunny Sunday afternoon when I was greeted and seated immediately with a friendly smile. After being seated I looked around at the dessert counter and other patrons orders and I knew that I was in for a treat. Having overstuffed myself earlier in the day I decided to have something light, potato skins, a french onion soup and a chocolate, peanut butter, banana shake. First up was the shake. Made to order, delicious fresh perfection. The perfect ratio of banana, peanut butter, and chocolate. Quite possibly the best shake I have ever had in my life. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars I would. Even visually the presentation was stunning (see the instagram page if you dont believe me) Next up the soup and potato skins. Potato skins were loaded with little mountains of bacon and topped with thick flowing gooey ribbons of cheddar cheese. I wish they would have never ended. Huge portion and delicious. The soup was superb. Wonderful seasoning sprinkled on top with love. Cheese, cheese, and more cheese. Hot delicious and wonderful. Will be back very soon. My boyfriend swears that this diner is not just your average Long Island diner so I decided to order out some food via GrubHub one night. I got him this carved turkey sandwhich Thanksgiving style thing and for myself salmon on a bed of salad. Both looked awesome and the salmon was surprisingly fresh and cooked well despite my concern being it's a freakin diner. As per said boyfriend the sandwhich was great as well. I ordered pork chops medium rare and they came out well done. Because of the time I ate them. When paying the bill and when the owner asked how everything was I told him the pork chops were not how I wanted them. He told me he went to cooking school & that is how they were suposed to be cooked. I told him at other diners they cook it how I like. He told me not to order them next time. I said next time maybe I would order them someplace else. He said "good idea" . Nice customer relationship. Good bye Lindenhurst diner. And for your information this comes from the internet. " Use an instant read or a prob thermometer and cook pork to 145 degrees Farenheit, remove from the cooking element (oven,stove top), tent with foil and let rest 3 minutes" and also " Pork is a very lean meat and dries out very easily if it is cooked too long. There used to be an old husbands tale that pork had to be cooked till well done as it had some sort of worm or something. This is no longer true (if it ever was) and you can now cook pork until it is medium or medium rare." Have a nice day. read more

During the Covid shut down, Lindenhurst Dinner was always 1 step ahead to ensure Safety precaution. We would call for our takeout order and pick up. The food was always delicious. We normally would order the burgers and enjoyed them. A definite restaurant that we would order from and will continue to order from. My experience here today was terrible down to the hostess and waiter and the man behind the breakfast bar area which he didn't speak English. Costumer service sucked really bad they kept rushing us asking us "want container" during the middle of our food I felt like I was being rushed out of the diner. I felt a certain way about the young girl and the man who she was constantly talking to one another and being on their phones instead of working. I ordered a Baja steak taco which I gave it a 7/10 I wish our waiter took the time to express I could get my steak cooked medium rare which I wanted instead of well done but he rushed to take my order and wasn't friendly at all. I hope that you see this review and talk to your staff also I have a pictures of the two staff doing nothing but being on their phones and talking I know to much info about her family even when they got up she still continued to talk and be on her phone (I took the photo down because of the request from the individual) and my second picture is of my food I hope you have a better time then I had at this diner on this beautiful Tuesday. read more

I'm very picky about my diners, and as a family member once told me there's enough on Long Island I don't need to eat at a bad one. I was excited to come back here after it reopened, but nervous given the poor service from the last staff. All I can say is I should not have waited. The service and the food are both incredible. My girlfriend and I each did a price fixe at $19.99, and ended up with more food than we could eat. This deal includes a large piece of cheesecake, if you so desire. As far as their salad dressings go, I don't like balsamic as a whole and found myself dipping into their honey balsamic dressing. Do yourself a favor and go. read more

I've loved the changes I've seen since the Lindenhurst Diner was taken over by the current owners. Aside from the remodel, they expanded the menu, have creative twists on traditional diner dishes. The portion sizes are generous and the food is always delicious. I love that they have specialty shakes that change up in theme based on the time of year. Also offer a full vegan menu. The staff is always friendly and helpful. One of my favorite breakfast choices is their lemon ricotta pancakes, delicious! Also, when I'm not feeling well I order their chicken noodle soup, it's spot on delicious. They're also involved and support the town of Lindenhurst, have kids breakfasts for the holidays, very sweet. Wishing them continued success. read more

I ordered food through seamless from this diner last night for the first time. O'neil NEVER order from them again!!!! I ordered silver dollar pancakes and they sent me two large size pancakes. I also ordered the French toast bites which to my disappointment is only a regular piece of French toast cut up and there wasn't any fresh fruit or vanilla cream on them. I saw they had an entire vegan menu so I had to come! It's a separate menu from the regular one so you have to request it. The vegan bread sticks were honestly the best bread sticks I have ever had and my non-vegan date agreed. I got the vegan Mac & cheese which was decent.. but I also got the vegan banana walnut pancakes and they were to die for! So so good, can't wait to go back and try more from their vegan menu! This place was recommended to us by a friend. Who couldn't stop talking how great this place is. So we tried it and absolutely love this place! It's great for families with children too. It's about 30 minutes from where We live but well worth the trip. I come out once a week and have never left disappointed. Food is delicious and service is excellent. Prices are fair. You get a lot of good food for your money. They also carry sugar free cheesecake which is a plus for me! Owners always there making sure customers leave satisfied. I highly recommend this place.
