Blatant racism. I had an extremely unsettling experience here . I came here twice and the second time the staff did a complete 180 . The waiter was very rude , said racial slurs in Spanish not realizing I was bilingual , everyone got treated differently than my black family and I . I had to go to the hospital soon after because I had HORRIBLE sharp abdominal pains , I have been vegan for 4 years and my stomach has never felt so horrible , I'm almost certain they didn't give me the appropriate meal only animal products would do that. I will NEVER go here again and I would suggest that any People of color to NEVER go here . VERY disappointed in the way this establishment operates . Order came out wrong twice, the waiter was overwhelmed,he delivered the food and NEVER once checked back to make sure everything was good,we had to keep flagging down one of the bussers to help us out,terrible service. Ordered 2 Cheesburger deluxes and mini sliders with cheese (which they charge an extra $1.00 for) and ofcourse the mini sliders come out with NO CHEESE. We love this diner, we really do, and I want to give it five stars. But the last two breakfast visits were very disappointing. The scrambled eggs were burned, and omelet-like, the bacon inedible (hubby almost broke a tooth!); we tried again the following week, and it was a repeat of the same. (It was pretty obvious on the plate; it should never have reached us at the table.) We really should have sent both meals back. My pancakes were not up to the award-winning standard, either. I'm hoping the focus will be returned to the classics; I know the vegan trend is popular, but lots of folks still come for the great breakfasts, too. read more

I don't write reviews often by I felt compelled to write one about this establishment. I stopped in on a sunny Sunday afternoon when I was greeted and seated immediately with a friendly smile. After being seated I looked around at the dessert counter and other patrons orders and I knew that I was in for a treat. Having overstuffed myself earlier in the day I decided to have something light, potato skins, a french onion soup and a chocolate, peanut butter, banana shake. First up was the shake. Made to order, delicious fresh perfection. The perfect ratio of banana, peanut butter, and chocolate. Quite possibly the best shake I have ever had in my life. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars I would. Even visually the presentation was stunning (see the instagram page if you dont believe me) Next up the soup and potato skins. Potato skins were loaded with little mountains of bacon and topped with thick flowing gooey ribbons of cheddar cheese. I wish they would have never ended. Huge portion and delicious. The soup was superb. Wonderful seasoning sprinkled on top with love. Cheese, cheese, and more cheese. Hot delicious and wonderful. Will be back very soon. My boyfriend swears that this diner is not just your average Long Island diner so I decided to order out some food via GrubHub one night. I got him this carved turkey sandwhich Thanksgiving style thing and for myself salmon on a bed of salad. I ordered pork chops medium rare and they came out well done. Because of the time I ate them. When paying the bill and when the owner asked how everything was I told him the pork chops were not how I wanted them. He told me he went to cooking school & that is how they were suposed to be cooked. I told him at other diners they cook it how I like. He told me not to order them next time. " Use an instant read or a prob thermometer and cook pork to 145 degrees Farenheit, remove from the cooking element (oven,stove top), tent with foil and let rest 3 minutes" and also " Pork is a very lean meat and dries out very easily if it is cooked too long. There used to be an old husbands tale that pork had to be cooked till well done as it had some sort of worm or something. My experience here today was terrible down to the hostess and waiter and the man behind the breakfast bar area which he didn't speak English. Costumer service sucked really bad they kept rushing us asking us "want container" during the middle of our food I felt like I was being rushed out of the diner. I felt a certain way about the young girl and the man who she was constantly talking to one another and being on their phones instead of working. I ordered a Baja steak taco which I gave it a 7/10 I wish our waiter took the time to express I could get my steak cooked medium rare which I wanted instead of well done but he rushed to take my order and wasn't friendly at all. I was excited to come back here after it reopened, but nervous given the poor service from the last staff. All I can say is I should not have waited. The service and the food are both incredible. My girlfriend and I each did a price fixe at $19.99, and ended up with more food than we could eat. This deal includes a large piece of cheesecake, if you so desire. I've loved the changes I've seen since the Lindenhurst Diner was taken over by the current owners. Aside from the remodel, they expanded the menu, have creative twists on traditional diner dishes. The portion sizes are generous and the food is always delicious. I love that they have specialty shakes that change up in theme based on the time of year. Also offer a full vegan menu. The staff is always friendly and helpful. One of my favorite breakfast choices is their lemon ricotta pancakes, delicious! Also, when I'm not feeling well I order their chicken noodle soup, it's spot on delicious. They're also involved and support the town of Lindenhurst, have kids breakfasts for the holidays, very sweet. Wishing them continued success. read more

I saw they had an entire vegan menu so I had to come! It's a separate menu from the regular one so you have to request it. The vegan bread sticks were honestly the best bread sticks I have ever had and my non-vegan date agreed. I got the vegan Mac & cheese which was decent.. but I also got the vegan banana walnut pancakes and they were to die for! So so good, can't wait to go back and try more from their vegan menu! I ordered food through seamless from this diner last night for the first time. O'neil NEVER order from them again!!!! I ordered silver dollar pancakes and they sent me two large size pancakes. I also ordered the French toast bites which to my disappointment is only a regular piece of French toast cut up and there wasn't any fresh fruit or vanilla cream on them. This place was recommended to us by a friend. Who couldn't stop talking how great this place is. So we tried it and absolutely love this place! It's great for families with children too. It's about 30 minutes from where We live but well worth the trip. I come out once a week and have never left disappointed. Food is delicious and service is excellent. Prices are fair. You get a lot of good food for your money. They also carry sugar free cheesecake which is a plus for me! Owners always there making sure customers leave satisfied. I highly recommend this place. We went in with high hopes.. and the service just wasn't there. It is nicely decorated, but that is where the niceness ended. There was a big table of about 8 and not much else in there, but still the service was lousy. The busboy came with 3 ice waters, and mom wanted water with no ice, and lemon, he came back with half the order, had to come back for the lemon because he forgot. If you hire staff, please have them understand English...Noone came over to us to take our orders, our waiter actually stumbled upon us and took our order anyway. Food took waaay too long, 3 omelettes, really? Being Greek and diner connoisseurs, we expected much more but were disappointed. Even with a coupon, we will not be back. It is absolutely mind-boggling to us that this place has received good reviews. They call themselves the best but not only are they not the best...they are not good and not even mediocre. This place is absolutely the worst diner (or even restaurant) we have ever been to. The matzoh ball soup was tasteless, the matzohballs had the consistencey of cotton and completely fell apart in the soup. The bean burger was not cooked through and the accompanying slice of tomato was old and soggy. The meat sandwich also old and tasteless. Each dish that the 4 of us ordered was inedible. The service was rude and neglectful. Not once did the waitress ask how we were, fill our water glasses, ask if we needed anything. We had to ask 3x for a missing dish. Someone walking around who may or may not have been a busboy was useless. Please avoid this place. There are a lot of better diners nearby. This is the WORST, THE WORST, THE WORST. Great....if you like hot wilted salad, slimy cole slaw and soggy fries! They put the fries on top of salad for delivery - GROSS! I called and the manager Anthony said "oh sorry" and "that's what we always do". This was my first time at this diner and was very happy. The staff was friendly and cracked some jokes. I ordered the Belgian waffle which was perfect, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside! My husband ordered the farmers omelet with home fries and had to bring half home.
