I must say, I fully enjoyed my time and food here! The service was really great, they made sure I had a better seat considering I'm pregnant. They had a dj there that night and the tunes and vibes were nice all night. I had the fried snapper with fried rice and it was very good! It was a nice size fish and was able to take some home. Hubby had oxtail with fried rice, slightly disappointed they only give you 4 pieces of oxtail but it was good. The drinks were good. Hubby said the rum punch was punchin so be careful lol. It was our 1 year wedding anniversary and they know how to make you feel special, the dj played us toni toni toni and they gave us some bubbly, even gave me a non alcoholic one which I appreciated a lot. For the birthdays I loved that he didn't play the same song over and over for each person and they brought them alil dessert. This place is a hidden gem in the area. We showed up without reservations because we were in the area and got hungry and while the outside of the restaurant may not be super wow, the inside is super nice and cute. They told us they could accommodate us in 5 mins and we had a seat and within those 5 mins we had a table, we sat by the dj who was playing good music at a good level (so you can enjoy the music but also talk to the people at your table). Our server recommended some drinks and one came in a super cool skull which was impressive but also delicious (I can't remember the name of it) For appetizer we ordered the sweet chili wings and they were the perfect combination of crispy and sweet heat. The best! For dinner I ordered the jerk chicken with white rice and vegetables and it was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend ordered the goat with rice and peas but somehow ended up with mashed potatoes and this is where they lose a star bc the server didn't offer to change it, just said "I heard mashed potatoes bc that's what it come with" and that was that. While the mashed potatoes were good, that's not what he ordered so that was disappointing. My mom got the fried fish with white rice and that was also delicious! We ended up skipping dessert bc the portions are super large that we were full and had leftovers. All in all, the food is absolutely amazing here so I highly recommend. Cute spot for dinner. Loved how they had lit menus since it is pretty dim in the restaurant. The bar area is very cool with their decor (a coal fireplace lined parts of the bar). I went for my cousin's birthday and I would say it's on the edge of fine dining but gives causal (theres a music/dj in the background, but it wasn't too loud that we couldn't speak). The staff and our waitress were attentive and kind. I loved how they were able to accommodate my older relatives nit-picky requests with patience and ease. I found the food to be decent and flavored nicely. My sweet and sour shrimp was okay (not recommended), but my mom's fried rice with jerk chicken was delicious. The oxtail tasted great but was very fatty for me personally. The portion size was also really good. Now the drinks they are strong, so I recommend having a designated driver. My mom organized this amazing birthday dinner for me and all I could say is wow. Ambience was nice and chill. The music was great and the food and drinks were delicious, and I can't forget our waitress Ozzy she was knowledgeable and attentive. For our starters we ordered for the table, spring rolls and sweet chili wings. Both were finger licking good. As I was scrolling the digital menu I saw that they have a frozen Sorrel, Rum Punch, and I immediately ordered that because if you know me, I am a sucker for frozen drinks. And let me tell you that drink was on point. I then proceeded to order my main dish, which was the Mango Snapper. It was a Deep-fried Whole Snapper, Fresh mango, Red Onion, Scallion, Mint, and Cilantro, served with Steamed Jasmine Rice and the presentation was stunning. Initially, I was skeptical about coming here due to concerns that I saw in other reviews, but I'm happy that I chose to form my own opinion and my experience ended up being great. I came on a Friday night on a date and upon entry the place looked like it should be an event hall, but it was nicely decorated, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. My date and I had reservations and were promptly seated at a table in the back with nice ambient lighting. The DJ played nice tunes throughout the night and our server was really great. Gratuity is included in the bill and she earned hers. I thought that the food would be small portions, but it was actually just right and the oxtail was great as well as the calamari which was fried perfectly. I really enjoyed the sauce that came with that. The drinks were great and I honestly have no complaints. LILLI Restaurant has officially become one of my new favorite Caribbean gems in Brooklyn! This place is divine--I honestly cannot rave enough about how delicious the food is. I've been here three times this September alone and every visit has been nothing short of amazing. I first discovered LILLI after celebrating the Caribbean Day parade and was craving some authentic Jamaican food. On my first two visits, I treated myself to solo dates and absolutely loved the experience. Most recently, I brought my best friend along (he's an oxtail lover) and he was blown away by how authentic and flavorful everything was. The food: Pure perfection. The only other place I've had snapper this good is back home in Jamaica! On my first visit, I had the mango snapper with rice and peas--unforgettable. The second time, I tried their incredible $25 lunch menu, which comes with an appetizer, a rum punch, and a main dish. I had a Caesar salad to start, Rasta pasta with shrimp as my main, and the rum punch was smooth and strong--exactly how it should be. My most recent trip was for Saturday brunch where I ordered the Thai curry shrimp with rice and peas and steamed veggies. That curry gravy was so good I wanted to lick the plate clean! The service: Top tier. The staff here are professional, friendly, and attentive without ever being overbearing. I especially love sitting at the bar where the bartender always crafts exquisite cocktails with a smile. The ambiance: Upscale yet warm and inviting. The floral décor is stunning, creating the perfect backdrop for pictures (yes, I definitely took plenty for my socials). We arrived here a little early for our 1:15 reservation and although half the restaurant was empty, the hostess asked us to wait at the bar which was a little odd. Other than that, the service was very welcoming. The bartender served heavy handed drinks including a generous pour of Hennessy in the fruit-forward Plush cocktail with pomegranate and lavender. The appetizers came out hot and ready. The oxtail meat in the oxtail wontons was cooked to perfection as was the oxtail main course that came with rice and peas. The outside decor is eye-catching, the inside is decorated with nice afrocentric decor, plush chairs and vibrant lights, a cute barbie like box for photos. Unfortunately that was the only wow factor. music is the main dining area was too loud, and the menu was limited the night we went, with many items unavailable. We tried the crab cakes (this is lump crab mix with alot of filler items). The chili wings were cool. Crispy and flavorful I think it would pair well with a dipping sauce. The mussels in a green curry sauce was interesting sweeter than expected but the flavors didn't connect. The last item was the lamb chops with mash potato's. The lamb chops could of been appetizers. They were very small for the price point, we asked for medium and recieved well done. The potatoes it was paired with was very lumpy as well. I hate to be that person who posts a negative review amongst many positive ones but it must be done. Celebrated my friend's birthday here last night for dinner (party of 11) and it was not a pleasant experience. Although we were seated after about 10 minutes, we were told that the menus are being generated but we can be seated and order drinks I'm the meantime. I ordered a rum punch while the majority of the table ordered a dusse or Hennessey drink, a beer, or lychee martini. A few moments later, we ordered our appetizers then our entrées. It took a very long time for both the appetizers and entrées to come out. Lots of people are the table were awkwardly waiting to receive their food while others received theirs. There were some discrepancies with what my friend ordered (shrimp pineapple fried rice). Followed by a discrepancy with my friend's personalized birthday cake. We were nearly charged $25 per person for a cake cutting fee but then it was revised to a one time fee. We sat there for a long time to receive the cake and receive the revised bill. The restaurant resembles an event space but has nice decor overall. I would pick going to Bamboo Walk Restaurant that is located directlt across the street any day over coming here. read more

I came here for Sunday brunch and ordered the French & Fried Chicken with a side of cheese eggs. What I received was disappointing. The eggs were dry, overcooked, and honestly looked burnt -- and placing a flower on top didn't hide that. As for the chicken, it was mostly batter with barely any actual chicken inside. I was with a few friends, we ordered appetizers and food to share family style. The apps came out in a decent time and were good, jerk wings and calamari. We had a hiccup with the food. I ordered avocado seafood curry, whole fried snapper with fried rice and lobster with friend rice. Although the curry had a good flavor the seafood was extremely overcooked and the lobster with fried rice never came out. The manager did take care of us, everyone was professional and nice. Good food and service! I came to Lilli restaurant and bar on a Saturday night to celebrate a birthday as a party of 4. The place is quite beautiful with modern decor. We had a reservation at 8 PM and was seated promptly by the hostess. Our waitress, named Lily (how cute to have the same as the establishment) was attentive and friendly the entire time. We ordered a few apps, calamari, wings, seafood dumplings, and crab cakes. I enjoyed the calamari as it was nicely seasoned and not chewy (if you know, you know). The crab cake was delicious as well. The seafood dumplings was tasty, but the wrapper was falling a part. My daughter who is quite the picky eater, enjoyed the wings. My entrees, fried rice and salmon was quite a generous portion and well balanced. Salmon is one item on a menu I try to avoid as it is often very dry and overcooked. This one, was cooked well. Extremely disappointed with how our group was treated at Lilli's Restaurant. We booked a birthday dinner and were upfront with the manager, Nikki, about our headcount changing from 13 guests to 11. We notified her in advance and were explicitly told it would not be a problem. Despite this assurance, my best friend--the birthday guest--was still charged for the pre-fix meals of the two guests who canceled. There was no flexibility, no accountability, and no effort to make it right, even though the restaurant was clearly informed ahead of time. Charging for guests who did not attend after confirming it wouldn't be an issue is unfair and unprofessional, especially for a special occasion. A birthday dinner should feel celebratory, not stressful and frustrating. Unfortunately, the poor management and billing practices overshadowed the entire experience. I would not recommend this restaurant for group events or pre-fix dinners unless you want to risk being charged for people who never show up. The food and server were great! read more

The location is in Brooklyn off of Utica Avenue. I went through on a Sunday and the parking is horrible. There's only street parking and I had to drive around for about 10 minutes to find parking. On my second visit, I came for brunch, and let me just say....everything I ate was absolutely fantastic. I had the jerk chicken spring rolls- check I had the lamb and mashed potatoes- check I was so tempted to go back later that evening for more, but unfortunately, I had other commitments. I have to be honest. I have gotten soo many mixed review's about this place so I came here with very low expectations . The outside would make you think that the inside is completely dark/ maybe an intimate setting but surprisingly they had 2 parts and when you walk in its bright- miami white, neon blue lights . We ordered our drinks and waited ... waited ... and waited . Once we got them we realized they were HELLA weak . Like the bartender wasnt even putting the full shot of whatever liquor was supposed to be in them weak. So we asked that they made them over alittle stronger . They insisted that we be charged for every shot added to the drink .... We actually just wanted to drink something that didnt taste virgin. Every shot is 15-19 bucks lol . So long story short, we ate the food (not bad by the way) and ended up spending 380+ on 2 appetizers, 1 entree and 6 drinks lol Because theres so many other local bars in the area, I dont recommend you come here to drink .
