She also had I belive the Honey Cajun wings which were fresh and not frozen also fried well and flavorful. The potatoes which were supposed to be fries I didnt try. What did it for me was the Blue Caviar mimosa! I haven't seen anything like it and I was intrigued. Bonus points for the popping Boba on the bottom. I also tried the peach and the mango bèllinis and all were good. The Dj will bring it all the time and have you getting out of your seat even if you want to be stush. Savvy was open and waiting and very welcoming. I left my umbrella at the front and got seated right away. The mood inside was nice and dark- just candles on each table and low lighting. Loved it. A few people were watching the World Cup Soccer finals and the DJ was warming up. I ordered a cocktail so nice that I had to have it twice. I have only been to Savvy for a bar crawl, so this was my first dining experience there. I ordered coconut shrimp with very little expectations for flavor. I just wanted something to munch on with my drinks. These turned out to be the best tasting coconut shrimp I ever had. Perfectly crispy outside, tender inside and no coconut overkill. I should have had another order of the shrimp instead of the jerk chicken tacos I ordered next. The tacos were bland and the chicken was a bit tough. The rest of my time there was a hit. The DJ did his thing! Great mix of Hip Hop, R&B, Soca and Dancehall. I sat sipping my cocktail and enjoying the vibe. The staff is really warm and they treated me well. Savvy Bistro is really close to home. I'll definitely be there more often. They have hookah but I skipped it because it's pricey. Too bad because I really enjoy hookah. Instead, I was immediately asked to give up my seat for someone who wasn't even present. As a Black man, on Juneteenth of all days, the optics of the situation did not sit well with me. The music was Black. The atmosphere was Black. The culture being celebrated was Black. Yet it felt like preference was being given to someone who wasn't even there over a paying customer who was.
