Because we were about to celebrate my 18 year old nephew at olive grdn . & my dad is hard to impress sometimes but he was VERY impressed with our food experience here. It wasn't super packed in here on a Monday night as expected so service was pretty good. We didn't know until the end of the night, our server was the owner. It's very chill and dark in there, the decor inside is simple but nice touch with the waterfall wall. Now for food.. I kept it simple with jerk chicken with rice n peas, it was nice and flavorful but I wish I got it with the pasta though. My husband got lobster pasta and I couldn't stop eating off his plate, it was probably the best thing we all ordered. My nephew got oxtail Mac and cheese and that was great as well, they just give you like 4 likkle pieces of oxtail though. Mom got the steamed snapper, was nice a soft and full of flavor. Dad got the honey glazed pork chops, and he enjoyed it. We also had a few drinks, beers, they were decent. Unfortunately, for the Canarsie area, this business is going to leach and not do much to enhance the nightlife in the area. Upon entry It looks like a lively spot with good aesthetics however, you come in and the music is very loud like a club so if you want a restaurant, this is not the place, but the main reason for this review and the rating is because they will allow you to order a lot of money worth of food and then tell you after the fact that they do not accept any card not a debit card not a credit card of any card they're doing cash and Zelle, which is completely unprofessional for business. Additionally, they do not have an ATM on site. Additionally, on top of that they do not have the signed posted in a way where you can see it upon entry. The one behind the bar is covered by a bottle of alcohol and the one behind the door if the door is open, you'll never see the sign. It's completely ridiculous and I was highly disgusted the food. The wings were OK at Best. The drinks were mediocre, but they were good enough for you to say this, hoping this spot but with that type of unprofessionalism, even the most basic businesses know that you have to disclose that type of information upon entry with that type of unprofessionalism, I'd never walk back in that door again. And I hope the Better Business Bureau looks into seeing and notifying them that they have to properly notify their customers of certain payment situations taking Zelle at a business is completely unprofessional. read more

Mixed feelings about this place. Had an 8:30 reservation, but initially sat at the bar, but since there were wasn't a hostess I asked one of the servers, if we could sit at an empty table behind us. She said yes, but it was lukewarm, which actually was her entire demeanor, as she was our server. We cumulatively ordered salmon with mashed potatoes, ackee and salt fish, Parmesan fries, fried rice and for dessert cheesecake and red velvet. The salmon was okay, the mashed potatoes tasted like Idaho from the box, but the broccoli was good, unfortunately l, they only gave two pieces or so. The dessert was good and so were the drinks. Arrived here for a drink on a weekday night and was met with a bouncer who proceeded to check my identification, search my bad and patted my coat down. My friend with me asked" are you sure we came here to eat?" . I had the same sentiment The atmosphere is very lounge clubbish with high top tables and chair and the bar. We ordered a number of items: crab cakes, mussels, wontons and stew snapper. The passion fruit margaritas tasted like medicine hitting the back of my throat immediately with whatever syrup they use so the waiter was gracious to take it back and exchange it. The replaced drink wasn't any better but I drank it since the waiter was so nice. The best thing we got was the crab cake which was full of crab but for 22 bucks it better be. This is a great restaurant that's always worth the trip to Carnarsie. I've been here a few times and had a great time each time. I love their Nortorius 6.2.3 frozen drink. I've been here for "Wine Wednesdays" for a couple of glasses of wine. I love the food here! From the Mussels to the Calamari to the Shrimp Tacos to the to the Ackee and Saltfish Tostones to the Salmon with mashed potatoes and vegetables. I enjoyed every bite! The servers here are attentive and deserve their tips. The DJ here plays great music that keeps the place lively and engaged. My uncle and I stopped at Prime 623 to get a bite to eat. He's been there before, so he wanted me to try it out. Nice spot to chill and watch sports. The fruit punch was good, and the salmon tasted fine with the crispy skin. My mashed potatoes were okay. it could've been hotter, just my preference. Asparagus was cooked right, maybe a little more on the plate, though. My uncle enjoyed his food as well. The waiter was cool and attentive. Food: was going to take away a star because the wait was a bit ridiculous but food was very flavorful and delicious so couldn't in good faith lower the stars. I dined here last night. The space is a small neighborhood gem. Soca and R&B to jam to while you drink and eat. The air was not working which is why I gave 4 stars. Thankfully, I travel with a hand fan. I ordered the blackberry margarita, mussels, and fries. It took over 40 mins for my food to come. I almost didn't notice because I was enjoying the music. I recently heard about this place. They recently opened in November. So we came to try it on a Friday night. The place was crowded around 8 pm but crowd grew more. Not an extremely large space, but decent size. High top tables and bar space available. Lower tables in the back. we were told upon entry that ordering apps at the bar would be 30 mins and entrees at least and hr so we ordered a bunch of apps. (This was not the case) Food: 9/10 Prime festival mussels: the sauce is amazing. The mussels were cooked well. I recommend Fried shrimp tacos: (serving of 2) large grilled tortillas with fried shrimp in a jerk mayo with mango and cabbage slaw. Honestly could have used more cabbage. Flavor was not my favorite. But okay Jerk chicken taco: (serving of 2) large grilled tortillas. Chicken is well seasoned and juicy and served with mango chutney and cabbage. I have the same thoughts in this that more cabbage should be included as the tortillas and large but not a lot of filling. So you're essentially eating tortilla by itself at certain points. Grilled shrimp was my favorite. Very tasty, light seasoning but yet so juicy and flavorful. I personally would not serve with tarter sauce. Maybe opt for jerk sauce or idk a soy ginger or garlic butter. Ambiance: great music playing (old dance hall/ reggae, old & new R&B). Loud enough to vibe to but not good for intimate convos fyi. Decor is nice and simple yet inviting Staff: extremely friendly. Not the most attentive though. But I will say again it was busy and they seem like they are trying to work out a seem less flow. It took entirely to long to be served drinks and food. 20-30 min for a drink. 1hr+ for apps. I'm going to say it's because they are still getting into the swing of things. I came here with my 75 year old mother not knowing it's mostly a younger crowd. She loved it! The Manager was kind and accommodating. He made sure we were having a good time. Even the security guard took care of us. The bartender knows how to pour, ok! The drinks were so good I would've had more if I wasn't driving. Between 3 of us we had the jerk chicken tacos, parmesan, fries, mango habanero wings, and lobster with the creamy pasta. Everything was good! I need that pasta again. The DJ is a nice added touch. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem. Checked it out the other night with some friends and enjoyed the entire experience. They state on their website that it's fine dining, a great ambiance and good vibes and they didn't lie. The space is nice. Caribbean music was bumping. It was definitely a vibe. The latter is their take on an old fashioned with a 6 sec pour of whiskey, 2 dashes sweet vermouth, 3 dashes of bitters, simple syrup, garnished with orange peel and cherries. My friend ordered the Old 623 and enjoyed it. They had their own bottled wine that they wanted us to try. We had one of their red blends and it was delicious and paired well with the meal. At the end of the meal the bartender brought a trio of flaming shots. A green tea shot, blue kamikaze and a red spicy shot. I had the green tea shot and my friends had the others. We liked them all and the presentation was cool. Appetizers: We started off with their pineapple habanero wings. They had the perfect balance of sweet heat. We all loved them. Next up were the fried shrimp tacos d with guacamole, mango slaw & jerk mayo. They were super flavorful and tasty. Entrees: We ordered the Prime lamb chops. They were grilled and marinated to perfection and served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. We also ordered the grilled Maine lobster that came with mashed potatoes and their Prime butter sauce. For you not to notice your customer didn't receive their first course after waiting sometime, no bueno. When the food did come out though it was tasty, everything was spicy as hell. We finished our water trying to wash our food down and again no one even came over to refill our glasses until we waved someone down. I did not like the rum punch the Wray and nephew overpowered the juices. It wasn't tasty just strong something you would probably enjoy if your at round 2 not while your dining. The entree my food was really good but my homegirl escoveitch fish was not. Though fried very well and a good size snapper there was basically no vinegar flavor on the fish nor season as well. The space is small so it can get crowded really quick, there's a love DJ, so it's not the space to conduct business but to have a good time.
