Came here in 2021 so this is definitely a dated review. But I'm clearing out my drafts, and think this place deserves a review. I came here with friends for a brunch. A Saturday in Aug. we dress up cute, and the aesthetic of the restaurant matched. As a post pandemic outing, we liked that it wasn't too crowded, and the tables spacing. We enjoyed the vibe and service. The food was good too. (That's the only thing I have pictured actually.) I don't remember specifics on the drinks, but I do remember the mimosas had us singing while we were walking out, and still onto the street. lol Overall a good experience. Will revisit, and review again soon
I went to this restaurant for a breast cancer event. Upon arrival, I noticed the restaurant was pretty empty with only four other patrons. My assumption is that the event wasn't advertised enough. More diners arrived before we left but not a crowd. Our server, Chanel greeted us pleasantly. She made recommendations and we ordered based on her knowledge of the food. The fish cakes were tasty but quite spicy. The aioli helped provide a cooling effect for my mouth. Next up as our entrees. My friend had the pancakes and I had the French toast. I added on turkey bacon and eggs with cheese. This meal was divine. The French toast were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was so sweet so I didn't bother adding syrup. Compliments to the chef for getting my eggs right. The cheese was folded nicely into the eggs. Just needed to add salt and pepper to make it perfect. I had to deduct one star for the lack of seasoning. There was a dj playing music that made you want to dance and some people actually did just that. I noticed big tv screens showing a football game. I totally think I will be back to sit at the bar and watch a basketball game.
Finally made it to this local spot in the neighborhood. Parking is on the street, for the most part that's good. Arrived at 6:15 pm and that is the switchover timing from brunch (Sunday) to dinner. Decor is nice, music was a bit LOUD, have to yell at my companions. I guess they were still in "turn up brunch mode." Had the appetizers of wings, mussels and mango habanero fried shrimps. Wings are wings so not much to say about that. The mussels were very good and the sauce that it came in made it better. Bao buns were tasty as well. Temptation island drink, don't have too many, fruity version of a Long Island and the coconut margarita For dinner we ordered berry jerk short ribs, very tasty, cooked to perfection and the berry sauce is nice, came with mashed potatoes and veggies. Five spice glazed salmon was also cooked to perfection with garlic mash and veggies. Whoever is isn't the kitchen knows what they are doing. I will come back and definitely will do the brunch just to see the whole vibe of things. Overall a neighborhood gem. Took away a star because of the music level.
I was nervous going here because I have not heard good things. But I was pleasantly surprised! The food was the bomb, we all shared our dishes and we all enjoyed everything. The pancakes were so moist and fluffy, the shrimp and grits flavorful and creamy, the chicken and waffle with the spicy sweet combo. Service was good too. Could've been better but it wasn't bad. They had a DJ during brunch so it was pretty loud but the vibes were fun!
I visited on a Sunday early afternoon and was able to be seated right away. Parking was easy and the restaurant didn't have too many patrons. The customer service was OK, no complaints but nothing out of the ordinary. The ambience was beautiful, but it was just very dark inside, so it will take a while for your eyes to adjust when you leave. As for the food, it was great, but the sangria was underwhelming. It was watered down and tasteless but thankfully the French toast, bacon, and eggs were not, and I enjoyed them very much. This was my first time visiting this establishment and I don't see myself returning .
I went to a party for my friend and their family. The service was very disappointing. From the moment we arrived, we sat at the table for a while. The restaurant wasn't busy as well. Our orders took forever to be taken, and we waited over an hour for food. We assumed everything would come out together, but there were multiple issues: - Several items from the brunch menu were unavailable. They could have told us right from the start or block the option instead having us to choose and then find out on the spot. - Some drinks were also out of stock. I waited over an hour for my drink, only to find out they didn't have it--no one told me until I asked. I ended up ordering something else and it was water down. - The food didn't arrive for about 1.5 hours. - The food was just okay--the home fries were better than my main entrée and my partner entrée. He had lobster and waffles, while I had Thai Chili Chicken and Red Velvet Waffles. Overall, the service was slow, disorganized, and gave the impression there might have been only one cook in the kitchen. The menu looked good, but left with disappointment. In total we were at the restaurant nearly three hours. I do say they have good music, but that's about it.
First we had a pulsd deal and this place is amazing. We came from Harlem but it was definitely worth the trip. So we ordered a lot of food and all the food we ordered was delicious and well cooked. Our server was great he was a really nice guy. First he was very attentive and all his suggestions worked. He also made sure to let us know if we had more money left in our credit. He would check in on us and ask us about the food. The manager also came over to ask about our experience. The owner also came over to introduce himself and ask about our experience. Now the good part the food. We ordered the loaded wontons and the oxtail dumplings. The loaded wontons were really good they had a good amount of toppings which complimented each perfectly. It was great and I recommend it. The oxtail dumplings were also really good and they were so good we got two orders. For the main entree we ordered the butter shrimp with the fried rice; the jerk beef and shrimp and the oxtail ramen. I tasted my niece's shrimps and they were really good; a nice taste. I also tried the jerk beef and shrimp stir fry and that was really good. The seasonings were really good and the texture of the food was also good; the noodles were not overcooked. My oxtail ramen was good flavorful but the noodles were overcooked so they can try to execute that differently with the noodles. For dessert we had the red velvet cake and the bread pudding. Both desserts were really good. The bread pudding was amazing so delicious and it was homemade and soft. I loved that bread pudding and I recommend it 100%. Also don't let the outside fool you; I thought it was dark because it looked different from the outside but this is definitely a place you have to go to. The inside is so beautiful, well lit and it feels like I have been transported somewhere warm. I recommend this place fully and my whole family enjoyed it too.
The service wasn't bad but we waited a little while for our drinks and food. The food was pretty good overall.
It's was girls night out and my friend found Czen which is a neighborhood bar/restaurant. I honestly don't know how long they've been there but it's a hidden gem. It's a cozy space and I'm sure if it isn't already, it will become a neighborhood favorite. The food is delicious. We ordered the Tempura fish cakes, Shanghai Jerk chicken and the Honey butter garlic shrimp. The entrees include your choice of rice and peas or white rice and bok choy. I also recommend the Rum punch. The DJ was amazing. The only flaw in my opinion was the lack of servers. We had to wait for the 1 and only server to come take our order and it was a little bit of a wait for the appetizer to come out. There was a huge group celebrating a birthday and the server was attending to them and in turn, every other patron had to wait for him to come around. Other than that, it was a great night out. They have Happy hour during the week from 4-7pm and food specials on Thursdays and Fridays. If you're in the neighborhood, check them out. Eat, drink and enjoy!
This place was so chaotic. I had it saved on my bookmarks and I was so disappointed at the experience. We arrived at 6:55, we didn't get our food until 8:03. Between the long wait, them moving furniture (while patrons are eating) unprofessional customer service and overpriced underwhelming drinks, I won't be back. The food was decent, but again, underwhelming, hence the 2 stars.
Out to celebrate my friend birthday with good drink and good vibes. First please make a reservation, it is a small location but the vibe is good as well as the food. The DJ was playing a mix of hip hop rnb reggae and Afro beat that spoke to me and the cuisine. I was seated at the reserved table as soon as I walked in and was offered water immediately. Menus for food and drink specials were at the table set up along with tableware. I had a drink called a temptation and it was so good. The food was flavorful and well made. I will be visiting this spot again for the food and the vibe.
Went to dinner with my friend here last night. The place is relatively small but the space is utilized well. The Decor is cute and colorful. The service was good, the waitress was helpful with helping me decide what to get, since It was my first time. Had the oxtail dumpling which I thought were tasty. My friend had the shrimp, good but I liked the oxtail better. Lychee martini was my choice of drink and they were good. For my entree I had the Berry jerk short ribs, Comes with garlic mash and a side of veggies. I was underwhelmed, the mash was bland and the jerk sauce was just ok, also felt the ribs were a bit overcooked and dry. My friend had the oxtail dish, which she felt was mostly bone. I would come back to give another dish a try, if in the area. But not a place I'd go out of my way for.
Dinner and a vibe on a Friday. Beautiful Decor Asian style theme with a Caribbean vibe. They had a live dj that kept us all dancing in our seats. And everything was delicious. Only con was that the wait for food was very long despite them not being very busy. But I would give them a try again.

Overall, a good experience! I came here on a Sunday to experience their brunch with a live deejay! First impression walking in was a nice cozy atmosphere. The music was a mix of all genres and the deejays has the atmosphere happy and energetic. There are 2-3 unisex bathrooms in the rear. I was also able to go out in the back dining area. It was well designed and I'm sure looks good at night. It would look amazing with real plants though... Now the food! Maybe lychee martini was so good! The shrimp and grits was delicious. My grits were creamy and buttery. I enjoyed my meal and I thoroughly enjoyed my new favorite lychee martini! Service was good! The servers were attentive and knowledgeable on the menu. The bartenders served well crafted drinks! I do recommend going on Sunday for brunch! read more

Love the aesthetics of the location a great take on Asian and Caribbean decor. Location is in a quiet section of Brooklyn. There was plenty of parking on the street which made it great. The restaurant itself was a bit compact and the lab seating was tight. The houses was very pleasant. The service was a bit stressed. I didn't realize that the time was that only one Cook had come in and the weight was extremely long. I wish that they had told us that upfront and let us have the option of staying or leaving. As other people came in and started to realize how long the wait was they left but we were the third table in so you really couldn't tell. At that point again the food was excellent. I had the Bailey pancake deluxe, which was simply great. The pancakes were fluffy and light with a slight hint of the Bailey really nice syrup with the bacon. My mom had the shrimp and grits which she really liked. I tasted one of her shrimp, which was Seasoned to perfection. The food was great. This was my second time having brunch the first time I had it to go and we picked it up. I had some family in town so I decided to take them for brunch after service on Sunday. read more

I was recommended this place by a friend, so I made reservations for my birthday dinner (party of 6). Upon entering, the restaurant was not as busy as I thought it would be because it was a Friday night, but I was honestly fine with that. We were sat immediately in a half booth/table. Our waitress recommended the Rum punch cocktail to my friend and I ordered the Lychee Piña Colada. The drinks were a bit disappointing as my drink didn't have a hint of Lychee and the Rum punch was definitely a bit too strong, but still tasted good. We ordered the Oxtail roll and Jerk fried chicken and both of those dishes truly stole the show! The flavors were well seasoned, delicious, and had me wanting more. For my entrée, I ordered the CZEN chicken bowl with orange thai chili and vegetable fried rice. They are not shy when it comes to seasoning. but the amount of sauce they put on the chicken overpowered the whole dish, and therefore I couldn't eat more than a few bites. Shoutout to the staff and owner for being so welcoming and for giving us a round of yummy green tea shots! read more

11/04/23: Sadly had to take away a star for this review. Not sure the breakdown, wasn't very crowded waited a pretty long time for anyone to acknowledge us after we were seated. Finally when we were acknowledged received our water and placed our orders. Ordered sparkling wine I'm pretty sure it was a basic white wine not tasty at all. Only about 2 sips were consumed. Oxtail sushi's meat seemed lacking compared to other times. Oxtail dumpling came fried. Wasn't aware we had to make a choice as we've had many times and they came steamed. Oxtail tasted a bit dry wasn't as soft and flavorful as other times and being fried is a no for me. Ordered the lobster and beef as I've done in the past. Bit lack luster and I'm pretty sure in the past it was the berry jerk meat if it wasn't it definitely did not have that awesome flavor I've consumed prior. With that said not sure if chef changed or an off night as this is one of my fav spot to go and I always recommend to others. read more

Hey Michelle,…
The restaurant was packed, it was a Saturday night. We were seated without reservations, they had a high chair for my toddler. The drinks came fast. The food was delightful. I got beef and lobster stir fry it was spicy and good. The bathroom didn't have a lock on it, I had to change my toddler and someone walked in, also the changing table looked dirty like it had shit on the corners of it, my daughter was uncomfortable. The music and atmosphere was fun. They charge a mandatory percent for party of 5, we were a party of 3 and had to pay a $20 gratuity, my understanding is it's a black restaurant thing. read more

Please note I have patronized this establishment 3 times prior, the service was always ok. I came on 9/26/25 ,the service was horrible, the food was ok that evening....it's possible the chef had an off night. I wasn't able to take a photo of the desert,we waited 20 minutes and had to remind the waitress 2 times, the third time we asked the busy boy to remind her and we were finally able to leave with it....that being said I feel like these establishments that have a mandatory 20% tip, should really retrain their staff,I mean afterall we the "customer" are subsidizing the staff salary by enforcing a20% tip for poor service !!!!!. read more

My mother took me here for an early birthday brunch. When we arrived it was early, and there was nobody here, except the staff. We ordered right away and I went with the Baileys Pancakes with eggs and grits. My mother had the wings and plantain. The eggs and grits were good, but the baileys pancakes were a huge let down. For $19 you would think I would at least taste the Baileys and they were just flavorless. My mother said her wings were over cooked and she did not enjoy them. The staff was very pleasant and the place overall seemed cool, but I just would steer clear of the pancakes, if I ever returned here. read more

This was my first time visiting this establishment. I've driven past it 1000s of times but happen to stop in on an impromptu date. We didn't have reservations and were greeted and seated promptly. There was a DJ and a live violinist playing all the soca and reggae music I love. I ordered a rum punch and the shrimp czen roll. The roll was delicious and fresh. The cucumber was so fresh and tasty in the roll. The star of the night was the rum punch. I literally drink rum punch wherever I go and baby this was a true rum punch! Not too strong or sweet. Just enough to have me and my date laughing just a lil louder and swaying to the music just a little more. No cons! Go support! read more

Pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere in this location, definitely spacious as it was a random stop for us to check out. We were seated right away and just took a lil time to order as my sister was debating what she wanted. Once it started getting more packed, service did become a bit slower as we were ready to order. I loved my meal and drink, it does have a kick to it. The tempura Fish cakes reminds of bacalaitos, just a bit different with tempura. Would def try the other menu items here. read more

I made reservation for eight people to celebrate the return of my girlfriend. Accommodations were made via open table. I had to call back to change the reservations and it wasn't a problem. I lead with the reservation part because you should make some vs walking in. We ended up with four instead of eight, but it was worth it.We were seated right away, and the waitress was very kind and patient. She recommended a Favorites, and even went so far as to make a drink for me. We ordered the famous oxtail dumplings, Thai wings, and crabcakes. They were all perfect! For dinner we had three salmon Thai and of course I had to be different; I had to be the oxtail with rice and peas. Everything was delicious! I wish I knew about this place sooner, but now it will be my new go to . Should you go here for a date, birthday party get together with family and friends? yes The service, the location, the food, are to be complemented as one of the best in the Canarsie area. read more

Hey Petrina,…
My review will be for happy hour drinks and Brunch.. the decor is really nice and upon both time sitting at the bar, the bartender was really social and gave solid recommendations. Happy hour: Sat at the bar by choice and had a good time. Thought the fish cakes was more cake than fish and the dumplings were basic. The wings were good as well. The bartender kept serving great drinks that kept us happy and we loved that. Brunch My main reason for not making reservations was because I am always turned off by paying for reservations. Nevertheless I was told by staff that if I walked in early for brunch, I could get seated. So I decided to do that and ending up being seated at the bar and watching empty tables for the entire time I ate. I'm assuming those tables were reserved but what's the sense in leaving them in moth for over an hour if you have people there. It seemed like all those without reset got seated at the bar. The eggs were those from the carton, they didn't taste great at all, but everything else was really good. The French toast was the best. They also ran out of turkey bacon. read more
The decor was really nice! The ambiance definitely set the mood. A great lowkey restaurant for a date too. The waitress definitely waited until I went to the bathroom to flirt with my date which was actually crazy to me but... The food was good. I had the oxtail dumplings, Berry Jerk Short Rib and Pina Colada. The oxtail dumplings were pretty good. I was expecting a bit more from the short rib. It seemed a bit dry. read more

I had reservations for this Asian/Caribbean infused restaurant and was looking forward to trying it. Reservations was for 1pm. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked up and was greeted and the hostess walked us to our seats. The spot was very dim and very cute. We were served by Jason and he was great and very attentive. For my drinks I got the rum punch and boy did it pack a punch. It was very good. My friend got a coconut drink and she loved it. For my meal I got the ackee and saltfish with fried dumplings. And my friend got the bailey's pancakes. It took a while for the food to come out. My meal was a bit cold so had to send it back to warm it. When I dug in boy was it tasty. It was just enough and seasoned great. They played Caribbean vibe music as well. My bill came to about $35. I will definitely come back to try more. read more
This a long review. Food so good here. Had no expectations prior to coming here because I seen other people's experience through reviews. However, we made it on their good days today because it was great to eat here. As ppl had said, the food here is indeed so delicious and great. Interior and ambience was on a 10 too. Bathroom was nice and clean. Cool door latch. We expected to wait long for the drinks and food, maybe cause we played imessage game nd got distracted, but everything came relatively one after the other. Our server was attentive. Beautiful presentations, relatively good portions cause whoever cooked it really said thats all you gonna get. Oxtail dumpling was just, wow. The so tender oxtail worked so great with the dumpling skin, you're tasting oxtail but dumpling skin is thick enough to bind the two flavor together. The sauce that it came with is so good I kept it to dip my main course Main course was berry jerk short rib and honey butter garlic shrimp. Short rib is just meat, no bone. Awesome The sauce for shrimp and the giant shrimp itself: 100 Drinks were ode strong, too strong to taste good. (after 3-4 sips). We celebrated my daughter's 13th birthday for Sunday Brunch! The ambiance nice and comfortable. They helped us celebrate by giving the BD girl a shoutout and a beautiful decorated slice of velvet cake! Will definitely revisit! read more
Czen is a great addition to this neighborhood. I had my eye on this spot for a while, and finally checked it out. I came during the week during happy hour, which I recommend. It wasn't crowded and I was able to walk right in and sit at the bar. Upon entering the host took my name, number, and temperature and asked for my vaccine verification. The service was a bit lackluster. The bartender seemed like he didn't want to be at work, but the food definitely made up for this. I highly highly highly recommend the oxtail sushi! Omg this was so good! They give a good portion of oxtail too! I opted to get the Czen bowl for my entree since it's only $14 during happy hour. The berry jerk salmon was also very delicious!! I've never had jerk with fresh berries incorporated into the sauce, oh my this was just so amazing! I was a bit disappointed that the mango lemonade was a steeping $8 -- even during happy hour. It was tasty though, but not worth the price. I definitely plan on returning again to try some of their other items like the oxtail dumplings! read more
