The friendliness of the staff is what made me stop by and try their food. I WILL BE BACK! Everything tastes fresh and clean. My favorite was the flavorful Mac and cheese, followed by the corn (not pictured). This is where you need to get food next time you're in the market hall.

I finally made it. I no longer frequent BK as I am based out of the borough but do not actually work in the borough. There was a line and then a wait for the satisfaction. The do not mince on the oxtail which has a sweet chili taste. The bread is perfectly grilled, no burn just a crispy experience. Seating around Fat Fowl was full; luckily we secured a table and chairs beforehand.

I was in the area and decided to finally try Fat Fowl as I've had it bookmarked for quite sometime now. I was debating whether to try the quarter chicken or what everyone talks about--the oxtail grilled cheese. I decided to order the oxtail grilled cheese and the employee asked if I wanted any sides. He mentioned that the plantains are coated in a vinaigrette, and he let me try some. I really liked the plantains so I ordered that for my side. The oxtail grilled cheese was good but do I want to spend $23 on a grilled cheese even if it has oxtail meat? No. I think I will try the quarter chicken next time. The service, especially the person taking orders was very friendly and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fat Fowl is located in the Dekalb Food Hall in the lower level of City Point. There's seating throughout if you choose to dine in and Fat Fowl has barstools.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The oxtail grilled cheese, I actually loved it for what it is. I do wish they would make some oxtail gravy or some Caribbean jerk sauce available, and that would have taken this dish over the top!

Yes, the food really is that good. It's a little pricey, but worth it. It's VERY heavy and filling. The oxtail grilled cheese is rich, buttery, and honestly heavy enough to split -- I never finish the whole thing. The oxtail leans a bit sweet, so if you're more into savory or spicy, just keep that in mind. The mac and cheese is a solid portion, super creamy with a slight kick, and they were making it fresh when I got there. Staff is generally friendly, but this time the guy calling orders had a bit of an attitude -- kind of short with some people (myself included), but noticeably nicer to others, mostly women, which felt a little off. Still, the food is top tier. If you're hitting DeKalb Market and only picking one spot, make it this one.

I am STUFFED after my meal at Fat Fowl! Every bite was more delicious than the bite before. The Mac & cheese was the ultimate favorite. Cheese and creamy as Mac & cheese should be. The corn was sweet, buttery, and another favorite bite. The chicken was moist and perfectly cooked. And the broccoli was crisp and flavorful. Top it off with a beer, perfection!

I stopped into this restaurant located in the food court! When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked into a mini mall. I walked downstairs and found the restaurant. It was busy! I was greeted and ordered: Chef Shorne Sangria Oxtail Grilled Cheese w/ Sweet Plaintain Oxtail Mac and Cheese Chicken w/ macaroni and cheese, broccoli, sticky black rice, sweet potatoes Branzino w/ sweet potatoes Shrimp Burger Tha food was spot on! My favorite was the Oxtail and Mac! All in all an amazing experience!

This spot has been "bookmarked" to check out for awhile. It's located in the Albee Square food court downtown Brooklyn. I arrived early afternoon and it wasn't to busy. They have the menu up top to view or you can scan it. I already knew what I was ordering based on Yelp reviews. I ordered the oxtail grill cheese sandwich. I also ordered the quarter rotisserie chicken with a side of the mango pickled slaw and the roasted corn with coconut. I ate the oxtail sandwich for lunch with my homemade side salad. I'm not a huge fan of oxtail but I was expecting more from this sandwich. I loved that it was soft and fulfilling but I wasn't a big fan. It was a bit bland to me and don't think I would order again but it did eat every bit of it and it filled me up. Now baby the overall winner and reason I would return is that rotisserie chicken. Omg, I kept smelling that chicken on the train ride home. I ate this for dinner and it was delicious. My sides were also amazing, nicely seasoned and flavorful. I had the organic lavender sauce that I didn't use and didn't need. That rotisserie chicken stood very well on its own, lol. It was so juicy and very tasty. I'm looking forward to returning to purchase another rotisserie and check out some other menu items.

Following my teen dinner companion, I settled for a bite at Fat Fowl. The service was very pleasant and accommodating... nice vibes overall. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything behind the counter looked very appealing as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food is pricey, so my mistake was not going with my gut. I ordered the oxtail grilled cheese because the teenager ordered it. Duh @ me! While I can cook exceptionally delicious oxtails, I never eat the meat, just the gravy over rice. The oxtail in the sandwich at Fat Fowl was nicely seasoned and very flavorful, but what may appeal to oxtail eaters is a complete aversion for me... fat, etc. Does not matter if it's beef or chicken, it's been an issue for me since childhood. While I managed to eat half of a half of the sandwich and enjoyed the flavor, I didn't like the little pieces fat. I ordered the mac & cheese, which was delightful. It was a big portion so I ate some and took the rest to go. In the future, I will try the chicken breast which is more aligned with my palate's preference for leaner meat.

Get in my belly! My great friend Denise said this place is a must and brought me to try it after we did some boutique-ing in the area. We both had the oxtail grilled cheese with a side of plantain, and later, added on Mac n cheese. What a flavor explosion! The tender beefy oxtail tasted like it must have been braised for HOURS and was delightful. The crispy caramelized-edged sweet plantain were cooked to perfection. The creamy savory Mac and cheese and I appreciate that they used another variety of noodle for the classic dish. I washed it down half a portion with a chilled pink grapefruit Ting soda. I took the other half to go. The food and the company? 5/5 Shout out to the Sous Chef (maybe also co-owner) who was going to WORK tirelessly as we sat at the bar. She made those dishes sing and I made sure to tell her about it.

When I walked in, I noticed two available seats at the bar. A Caucasian woman took one of the seats, and I sat in the other. Moments later, an employee asked me to move because the woman's friend was supposedly on the way. Now, I've always understood bar seating to be first come, first served. What made the situation even more frustrating was that I wasn't even given the opportunity to order a drink or remain seated until the friend actually arrived. Instead, I was immediately asked to give up my seat for someone who wasn't even present. As a Black man, on Juneteenth of all days, the optics of the situation did not sit well with me. The music was Black. The atmosphere was Black. The culture being celebrated was Black. Yet it felt like preference was being given to someone who wasn't even there over a paying customer who was. Maybe that wasn't the intent, but perception matters, and the experience left a very bad taste in my mouth. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend this establishment.
