I'm beyond disgusted. I ordered Rasta Pasta from this Jamaican spot and found a screw--a literal metal screw--in my food. How does that even happen? Are y'all cooking in a toolbox? This isn't just careless, it's dangerous. I could've broken a tooth or worse. This shows a complete lack of basic hygiene, quality control, and respect for your customers. And to make matters worse, when I tried to contact the restaurant, from the phone number listed on Yelp and Apple Maps the number doesn't even work!! This place needs to be inspected ASAP. If a screw can make it into a meal, who knows what else is going on in that kitchen? I won't be back, and I suggest you think twice before eating here unless you want your next bite to come with a side of hardware. read more

Still scrumpdeliciosious. We had a small mash potatoes with bbq chicken and the small oxtail with Mac and cheese extra oxtail sauce. They make a great Bbq chicken here and I've had it about 10 times. Only thing that beats it is their mash potatoes. So simple and deceiving, it's less is more at its the finest, imo. Oxtail was underdone this time so it was chewy and not fall off the bone. But you do not argue with Patties oxtail sauce however they give it to you. That's all I'll have to say about that. It's reasonably priced but you don't get much FYI. The Mac pie is good as usual. The fried plantains are hearty. This is a meal for the sleep deprived Bc it will put you straight into a food coma. read more

If you're riding down Nostrand and have a taste for Caribbean food, this is the place! I've lost count of how many times I've been here. Honestly, after moving to Crown Heights this place became a staple and I easily supported once a week. This is some of the best Jamaican food I've tasted outside Jamaica. From Jerk Chicken to Stew Chick to Oxtails, it's all good! You can choose platter size based on your appetite but know that medium is pretty hefty and filling. Large most likely means leftovers, or can be good for sharing. If you're committing to eating here make sure you do the rice and peas, not regular rice, WITH GRAVY. Their plantain and cabbage are good but the Rasta Pasta is exceptional!! Well worth getting a separate order. I never complain about the attitudes of the women that work here, why? The food is always so damn good. Today was a bit different because the place was empty, and I was literally screaming my order out too her. She still rolled her eyes, and sucked her teeth at me, I don't know what gives maybe it's a Jamaican thing. I'm editing my review just for sheer fact that this location is terribly discombobulated. Yesterday I came in 10/12. I always order a medium bbq chicken with two hot sides, the woman working the bar was new. I asked for two hot sides with my order, and was told I had to pay extra. I spoke up and told her no I always get free hot sides; I took the macaroni salad which she sprinkled like ten pieces of on top of the chicken. This location also has one of the most aggressive, most rude women working here. I walked down to the other location, and was given my choice of hot sides. My go-to order is a medium jerk wings with cabbage and mac & cheese (I skip the rice & peas). Don't forget to ask for some oxtail gravy over the mac & cheese. You get about 7-8 wings with a medium. That's enough food for 2 meals.. for under $10! As a white ass dude in a gentrifying neighborhood I always try to be a little extra courteous & respectful at businesses that mainly serve the longer term residents. I always order a beef pattie, and if you never had an authentic Jamaican beef pattie you dont know what your missing. I always order the oxtails with rice & peas and you get 2 sides with your purchase of a dinner plate, I always order the cabbage and the potato salad... so good, and they give you generous portions! You must try the BBQ chicken and they macaroni salad, you must also get fried dumpling and a Ginger beer to go. This by far one of my favorite Jamaican restaurants, you can eat or take it to go. For years, I have gone to Golden Krust for Jamaican meals. After one bite from Pattie Hut, I have tasted the error of my ways. I mean the flavor is just mind-blowing. I have had their bbq chicken and jerk chicken (both paired with rice and peas along with two sides (macaroni and potato salad). I love that they have like four different meal sizes you can choose. My preference is the third one or medium. Great customer service. Today, I ordered the bbq chicken and was advised that it would be a 5 minute wait. They delivered, right on time. You can dine in or take out. Nice, clean space. I am never disappointed whenever I dig in, and trust me it's gone in 10 minutes or less. All I can say with every bite is mmmm. P.S. I hate the fact that I never know what to get when I go. Prices you can't complain. Portion-can't complain and it's not just filled with rice. Flavors-on point. Option-I'm like a kid in a toy store. This was some good jerk chicken. I was walking in the area the day before and saw the spot I was told that they were pretty good so I made it a point to make my way back to this location. It was about a half hour before closing but they were very accommodating. Got the larger dinner with cabbage and rice and peas. The large church dinner consists of two whole leg and thigh quarters chopped. Needless to say I was in heaven. I got jerk sauce and a pineapple soda went back to the house and crush this meal. I like the bbq chicken, my boyfriend likes the jerk, and we both get the mac and cheese (honestly, one side of it is enough for a meal, but we stuff ourselves silly).
