1. Ross, the time frame given to me was 12 - 2PM. It was 4 PM before anyone arrived and real progress didn't begin until later, after others showed up. That is significantly late. 2. I did mention the long corridors. Also mentioned multiple elevator options including one closer to my apartment that would minimize the long walk, at least a little. Discussed 3 large items that would probably need to be carried down the stairs. We discussed that I was still packing and the number of boxes would grow. I was far more detailed than you were in this matter. I was assured you could handle all items I needed moved. 3. Ross, I called multiple times to further discuss the move and you did not return my calls. I have moved many times and I certainly understand physical limits & I appreciate & reward movers. However, your miscommunication left your company unprepared. When your guys arrived they said they were told this would be a simple 2 hour move, no mention of the piano, antiques, boxes etc. I think you may have got my move confused with someone else's move since your initial estimate for my move was 5 hours, not 2. 4. I told you upfront I had large, heavy boxes, since they were the ones I packed first. I was assured everything could be handled. 5. Ross, you faced a much bigger job than anticipated because you failed to return calls and started hours later than the end of the time frame. I have mentioned the extra workers, I was thrilled to see them & I was more than happy to pay for them. I was not pleased to pay for the overnight storage fee nor the fee for the eight extra movers the next morning since they should have been unnecessary. However I tipped each and every one of them because I believe in rewarding hard working people, regardless of their bosses' miscommunication. 6. Ross, I talked with someone in your office about additional needs & he said you would call me back to discuss, which never happened. You did not return multiple phone calls to further discuss the move. The move started very late - had you arrived on time, even at the end of the original time frame, there would have been time for me to arrange for additional storage space had I known it would be needed, but the office had closed by the time you arrived so late. Yes, the fellows did a masterful job of packing the storage unit very well, and I tipped each and every one of them. 7. Ross, you failed to return multiple calls. I described anticipated needs before the move, and attempted multiple times to talk with you several days before the move but you did not return multiple calls. You refer to "jobs like this" making you lag behind and leading to more work for your guys. This seems to indicate a pattern of miscommunication on your part - perhaps you need to be more thorough and timely communicating with clients. Your miscommunication, overbooking & unpreparedness led to your guys working so hard. 8. You did not arrive toward the end of the time frame - you were late by several hours. I was ready for the move - there was plenty for your guys to do. I told your guys several times not to worry about the items in the center of the living room, that I would be able to deal with those myself the next day. 9. We did discuss that the 2nd bedroom did not contain bedroom furniture and therefore was where boxes were being stored as I got them packed. 10. There was no lack of supplies. I had numerous, large blankets that other movers have previously used. This also included about 8 regular moving pads from previous moves which weren't used either. There were no towels as I had donated most of my towels before the move. There was ample material that was not used despite my repeated requests. I know it was a significant amount because instead of them covering my furniture, I had to pack it all up in 4 big boxes, including ironically, the moving pads. 11. Ross, I said the most important thing about the piano was to get it on early - which didn't happen until later, and I did not say that nothing could be put around or on it - it is quite sturdy and other movers have put plenty of items on it. The item I didn't want anything on was the antique walnut dresser, which did not get carefully wrapped and did have items placed on it, against my instructions. You have confused the two. To conclude, I have stated several times that I found your staff to be friendly, considerate and hard working. Even the best businesses have bad days and I empathize with that. But your lack of communication, follow-through, lack of timeliness, unnecessary extra cost, overbooking your staff, not listening to your client, all led to this being a painful business transaction. I am sure you have a fine business as other reviews suggest. But in this instance, Ross, you failed your client, you failed your employees, and you failed your business. read more

After writing my review, Lexel did follow up to make up for lack of service and I bumped up the review from 1 star to 3. My previous post: They forgot a large white armoire and I clearly marked it as being an item that needed to be moved. Lexel was NOT proactive in resolving the situation. I would call and email about when to schedule to move my armoire and they were not flexible. I also didn't appreciate that the movers were insinuating a larger tip amount when they did not move all my items and I wasn't happy with the move. I understand it's a tough labor and I showed them that I was tipping on industry standard based on internet research.They also seemed to quote me much higher than originally mentioned over the telephone with Ross. I don't believe the Groupon deal is worth it. read more

I've recently relocated from Boston to New York City (Manhattan). This was my very first major/out-of-state move I had gone through, and as a result I was quite anxious and nervous. I chose Lexel because of their friendly yet thorough and professional approach with full attention to detail during my first phone conversation with Nick Osipov. Prior to the move, he and his team were extremely accommodating, patient and helpful ensuring every detail of the move - inventory, packing and supplies - was covered and arranged for! On the day of the move, the three movers that came to my condo were very professional, organized, efficient, and most importantly to me - careful with the furniture and high value/precious items such as TV, artwork, and crystal. They packed all the kitchen items, protected all the furniture and quickly loaded onto the truck without leaving any mess or trash behind. Surprisingly to me, the delivery was arranged for the following morning - this is quite unusual for long-distance moves such as mine! They arrived promptly at 8AM, moved all of my furniture in, unpacked and placed exactly where I wanted it to be. Moreover, they removed and threw away all leftover packing materials - tape, boxes, paper - so I didn't have to deal with it! All household goods were delivered in perfect condition, without scratches, tear or damage - impressive! I would whole-heartedly recommend Lexel, Nick and his team for any type of move, and I look forward to relying on them for any relocation needs I may have in the future!! Worst service I have ever experienced through 7 moves. They were supposed to start moving at 12 noon and it's 8pm and I am still waiting for them to show up. Lexel moving company was such a great experience! We all know how tough moving process is, but with these guys everything went smooth and fast! My move was pretty easy - 2 bedroom apartment, but with a little surprise! An old piano that we got from my grandma!!! I discussed all the details with Michael 2 weeks before the move and he came for an onsite estimate, which was really informative and fast. Such a bait and switch company. They offer 2 hours with two men and a truck for 125. I called to ask how they can determine how many hours it would take and the conversation turned into them saying it would take 5 hours at 109 per hour. Mind you, i have a six hundred square foot apartment, i told him everything is boxed and taped, and we had three cars that will load our TVs breakables and boxes. What a rip off. I also found out they charge you for the time it takes to drive from their facility to YOU .. AND from your destination back to their facility I'm sorry.. I don't get paid for breaks at work or for driving to my office or home from work - so why would you charge your customers for that. I hung up on the guy - everything out of his mouth was ridiculous. I used Lexel Moving as a recommendation from my new apartment complex. I wished I used the company I used before. For the pros, the movers were on time and they were fast and efficient. It took a total of 4 hours from emptying my old place and loading everything to my new place. For the cons, I think the movers were rushing and likely throwing my things around. I've had a few things damaged such as some drawers and storage bins - one of them just cracked and was completely broken, and my drawers were damaged They also dropped a few of my clothing on to the wet grounds with melted snow and dirt. Only way this would have happened is if they threw my stuff around. Another cons was the price. I was happy with the quote but when everything was done, I was charged a total of almost $1000. Unfortunately, I will not use this company again. Overall, the service was mediocre. I will return to the previous movers when I do move again. With them, nothing was broken or damaged, they were as fast and efficient, and they price was almost half of what I paid this time. read more

I booked the moving service in short notice; at first they told the time slot I asked was booked by other client , but they were able to work with the client and gave the time slot to us. On the day of moving, the weather was really bad, thunderstorm-like. They moved quickly and made sure that boxes were not out in the rain for too long. In November of 2020, we moved half of our belongings from our 3,000 sq. ft. home in Pinehills of Plymouth, MA to Harvard, MA without as much as a nick or scratch. The other half of our belongings went to Vero Beach, FL and that went off without a hitch as well. The movers were courteous and very helpful to no end as they clearly aim to please their customers. I hired Lexel Moving to move, store then deliver my household belongings from MA to Florida $11,577.85 On 4/2020 - 10/2020. I had over $6000 in destroyed property caused by mold while in storage. Regardless of the photos of water damaged boxes, mold covered belongings they simply denied it happened at their facility. Its physically impossible that it did not occur while in storage. Denial does not mean it didn't happen. My leaf blower was also stolen. Totally irresponsible moving company with zero integrity. You will be out of luck if you run into a problem with them. I moved from an apartment to a four-bedroom house in Worcester and received excellent service from Nick and his team. They were professional, efficient and fast. I really have to emphasize on how quickly they got the job done without any damage to my belongings. I estimated the job to take more than 6 hours for the 3 person team but they got it done in 4! We live in Waltham, MA and had a few furniture pieces to swap with our home in Maine. We got three quotes. As Lexel is located in Waltham, they waived the travel fee and quoted us just for the cost of two men for 2 hours. Harrison and George arrived on time, unpacked the furniture from our U-haul, then did a lovely job wrapping the six pieces of furniture headed North and packing them expertly into our trailer. The work was great. Efficient. However I did my research and had bought boxes because the website scared me about boxes that would cost 100 for my tv and pictures, some others were extra for my clothes and other cost I would incur. However they didn't need those boxes and it was a very simple: they had a storage area in the truck for pictures and TVs etc. so I ended up returning all that stuff. I would have liked to know that before hand. Or maybe the website could be updated. Or maybe this could be shared when a customer is inquiring as I did. Anyway, the service was great. Quick and amazing service. Requested a quote online and immediately got a call back the next morning. The Rep was super nice and easy to work with. I needed to move into my new place like ASAP and he was able to squeeze me in on such a short notice. The price was also extremely fair compared to other companies I had reached out to. I was going to move everything myself but hiring movers was seriously the best decision I've made. So worth the money. The movers arrived early (half hour early but they called to give me a heads up) and worked quickly. I didn't have a lot of stuff (5 boxes and a rug) but the narrow stairways in Boston apartments makes it extremely hard to move any large boxes up the stairs, but they got it all done under the estimated time.
