Even though Lexel only had a few reviews, the fact that they were all 5 stars and that they were located in the same town as my destination residence tipped the scales in their favor. Not to mention I was scouting around for quotes, told Ross (the company president) of some other hourly rates that were cheaper than his, and he was very flexible. I also had strange work hours for the week and could only correspond via email; Ross always replied thoroughly, amicably, and promptly, which was a huge help in abating so much of my moving-stress. He accommodated my need for a later time in the day, and for having a smaller window of time for the movers to arrive to my house. Additionally, Ross sent me an itemized bill estimate - something me in my organizational/visual skills needed, instead of a round-about guestimate I got over the phone from other moving companies. On the day of the move, I got a call from the movers saying they were about five to ten minutes away from my apartment. Right on time, at the beginning of their arrival window, two wonderful young gentlemen arrived on my doorstep and politely introduced themselves as Alex and Mike. Immediately, they asked for a tour of what I needed moved in my house, and as Mike started picking up boxes, Alex went over a few minutes of paperwork with me. In packing, I had wanted to have everything completely packed and all my furniture wrapped so all they had to do was pick it all up and move it, but my work hours cut my ability to wrap everything. Not to worry... Alex and Mike's technique in wrapping furniture is seamless! I was given ten free rolls of tape in the estimate Ross had sent me, and Alex and Mike set to work with blankets of their own (one of which I kept in the end and so it was the only one I was charged $5 for), tape, and some of my own wrap when they needed it. If they did not have something in their hands, they were nearly jogging to my stuff. All my bedroom furniture (some heavy, large, awkward pieces) was carried ever so carefully; no furniture and no walls were harmed in any way. They bounded stairs and up their truck. They put down one of their blankets so they wouldn't get my floors too dirty. They put all the boxes exactly where I assigned them to go. They put furniture in sensible places in each room. They took off one of my doors quickly and carefully for better angles/movement and replaced it as if nothing had happened to it. They had amazing bedside manner with a touch of sass to break the ice. I asked them how long they had been doing the job; Alex said he had personally moved over 3,000 families, and Mike's abilities were certainly on par with Alex. I would like to share my great experience with these folks. I moved with Lexel from Chestnut Hill down to Cape Code and the move was flawless. I started my research 2 months before the actual move and wanted to hire a local moving company. I found out that there are not that many companies that offer onsite estimates. Lexel was one out of the 3 I've chosen. Ross came on time from Waltham for the onsite estimate and was very knowledgeable about all the packing supplies and packing services. I felt comfortable right away. He showed me few packing tricks and directed on purchasing moving boxes. I ordered everything through uline.com. It was great. I didn't want to book with Lexel right away and interviewed 2 other local movers. (Marathon movers and Raymond's movers). Lexel came on the second place as far as the price is concerned, but the service turned out to be worth every penny. And I chose Lexel. On the actual day of the move they showed up on time. Lexel movers had 2 moving trucks with lift gates and it made it easy to load the piano and pool table. Guys did a great job taking the furniture apart and reassembling it back together. Everything was orchestrated by Alex - our crew chief. He was wrapping the furniture like a magician! Moving blankets were provided for free. Everything got loaded onto 2 trucks within 9 hours, which was amazing! We had an additional stop in Newton Centre picking up my mother-in-law's china cabinet and sectional couch. We went for the overnight storage and our shipment was delivered on the next day in the morning. It took them only 6 hours to unload. We had a flat rate on the move and we didn't care how much time it takes, but this left us with half a day to do some of the unpacking. We couldn't wish for more! I hired Lexel Moving to move a 3 bedroom from Cambridge to Manhattan with an extra pick up in Hartford, CT. I was looking to hire a local moving company for this long distance move. We also wanted out belongings to be delivered in New York on the next day. Lexel turned out be a perfect fit for the job. I called the office and got a moving quote within 10 minutes. Ross was great in communicating and made the whole process simple and easy. He was specific and payed a lot of attention to all the details and made all the arrangements concerning the parking in Cambridge. My husband suggested that we request an onsite to be on the safe side and Ross was totally ok with sending the estimator over. Andrew did a wonderful job explaining how Lexel runs those types of moves and what should be expected to be seen on the actual day of the move. I should say that movers came in on time and where very professional. They loaded our furniture in Cambridge in the afternoon, did the extra stop in Connecticut next day morning and delivered everything in Manhattan in the afternoon. No furniture was scratched or damaged. Movers used moving carts to roll our furniture and boxes in. Using the elevator was a bit challenging but everything worked out well in the end. Movers installed furniture felts on all the furniture - that was a nice surprise. Everything was done efficiently and very professionally. Final bill was a bit higher than the estimate but all charges made sense and were explained in details. Not having the elevator reserved costed us around $200 more than we should have been paying. We completely understand that it was our fault and we should have done a better job in scheduling the move in and reserving the elevator. Just moved from Boston to Atlanta in June 2018 and shopped around for weeks for moving companies. I shopped from National moving vanlines down to small family-owned companies and found Lexel to have the most competitive pricing and best reviews. I'm a skeptical person and really researched these guys and could not find one negative thing about the company or the owners/employees. I hired Lexel and they were absolutely amazing and accommodating. They walked me through the process and estimate and on the day of my move, Lexel showed up on time, worked extremely hard in the scorching heat and completed my move out in about 5 hours which is quite a feat considering I had two flights of stairs. For the actual move, they were able to not only guarantee me a day for arrival but arrived within my required 6 hours time frame for moving into my new place in Atlanta which required reserving a freight elevator. Move in was smooth and I just can't say enough about the level of professionalism exhibited on both end of the move. The estimate was almost spot on and the actual final cost was $200 less than expected which is unheard of as most companies underestimate and nickel and dime you in the end. One thing was broken and one item was lost in the move for which I was compensated based on the insurance level I had signed on for. Overall, don't waste the time I did by shopping around, I'm a true skeptic and do my homework and these guys are the best. You won't get a better price or service for a long-distance move! Lexel's team was an invaluable partner in a complex downsizing move (and life transition). Their initial estimate, while not the lowest I received, was very realistic about the number of people, trucks and time needed to complete the multi-staged move, which gave me confidence that they knew what they were doing - and proved to be true! The move had three steps on three separate days over a 2-3 week period - packing and prepping, the main move, and a "storage move" day - each of which was planned and executed very well and professionally. I felt that my items were being well taken care of from packing through moving, with only a few minor things (out of hundreds) slightly damaged. Each day, the teams arrived early or on time, and they worked extremely hard for hours on end, remaining friendly throughout. Their experience was very helpful for managing some unusual items, including a pool table and a heavy piece of exercise equipment that needed to be disassembled and reassembled professionally. They smartly had me rent a large number of crates (get more than you think you need!), and were always prepared with enough additional packing supplies. Following the move, the team then spent a day moving remaining items to three other locations, including their own storage facility. Their ability to provide storage at a reasonable price as part of their suite of services was very helpful, one less thing to worry about during an incredibly stressful period logistically. Lexel Movers are great! We have hired movers in the past, but this experience changed our idea of moving with movers vs do-it-yourself. First of all I would like to say that communication with the office was phenomenal. Nick answered all the questions and provided recommendations on packing and organizing. We had to stage our apartment and some boxes and furniture items were moved into storage for about a month. Staging worked out great and we received higher than expected offer on our property. Day of the move comes. We haven't packed anything and called the office the night before and left a voicemail. Our crew arrives - they had all the boxes, white paper, packing supplies to help us pack. Seamless communication! We had Tim, Nick and Rob pack in our moving crew. All movers were professional, friendly, careful with our belongings - what else could we ask for? All the boxes and furniture were labeled at our old place, which made it easy to unload at the new house. We had our storage stuff delivered later as well. Both moves went fast and really efficient. Furniture was set up first, than we made some changes because our measurements suck. After that all the boxes and plastic bins were moved in and organized properly by room and SIZE! Made it easy to unpack, It took us 3 weeks to unpack though! To sum up - we had great experience, I can't thank these guys enough! Great company, great people and great moving service. It is SO helpful when movers take a minute to tell you everything is going to be OK when they show up. I was stressed and upset when they showed up (of course I was!) and I felt better as soon as they got there. A couple of things had gone wrong (of course they did) and they told me they'd seen worse and could make it all work. I appreciated their calm and support so much. This was for an out-of-state move. The manager had carefully gone over the quote with me, stressed the variables that could lead to a higher cost (like not being able to park near the building, not having things packed properly, not having a complete inventory). They went slightly over the estimate, but it was all completely fair and well explained, and in fact, less than I expected considering crappy parking in Cambridge and my less-than-perfect packing. The final cost wound up less than half of the guaranteed cost another mover gave me. I don't need a guarantee if it's that much! I budgeted for a couple of things to go wrong, and they were very fair about it. Delivery went smoothly as well. It was the same team who picked it up, so none of the bait and switch that is so common in out-of-state moves. ALL of my furniture wound up where I wanted it in spite of narrow staircases. They showed a lot of ingenuity to make it all work. I'm unlikely to move again anytime soon, but if I do I will 100% hire them again. read more

This company is fantastic, very professional, and courteous. I had them move my furnishings from Salem to their storage facility in Waltham as my new place wouldn't be ready until the end of August. In June my girlfriend hired them to move her ten rooms of furnishings from Topsfield to their storage facility in Waltham too. Last week after we closed on our new place in Topsfield and I called and scheduled them to bring our stuff. Mine came on Tuesday in one truck and her's in two trucks on Thursday. Enrique and his crew did both runs (as well as my first move) and they were absolutely amazing, perfect. I've dealt with Alex and Nick on the phone and also to pick up additional packing materials. The personal contacts with all was always a pleasure, they treated me like family almost. Five days prior they start sending email reminders with all the information and pricing estimate (hourly rate and estimated range by time). Enrique and his peers are amazingly precise and fast. I can't praise this company enough, we had a lot of stuff and got everything back without damage. They left no visible marks on our three level new home ...they wrap everything in blankets.
