Always a great experience with Lexel. They had a complicated bed to take apart and put back together. Thought stairs to negotiate and they did an excellent and professional job. Thanks again. read more

They showed up over an hour after the window. The window was from noon to 3 p.m. After they got there, it went ok. My advice: don't book after noon. read more

Lexel moving is absolutely amazing!! We have used them moving from Philadelphia to Boston and then again from the city to the suburbs. Would never use another company! read more

An unexpected circumstance made it so I wasn't able to be in NYC for the pickup for my NYC to South Shore move. Got quotes from a few Boston-based as well as NYC-based companies. Lexel was the most responsive and competitive quote - considering my move consisted of packed boxes/totes, 2 bicycles and 5 pieces of furniture (office chair, locker, loveseat and two arm chairs). Other quotes priced it as if I was moving a studio apartment full of furniture. The move went really well. My sister met the movers at my apartment in Midtown and the movers made short work of moving and loading the truck. They even offered to handle the meter which I was expecting to have to handle myself. Also to be noted, they provided a COI quickly after it was requested. And then revised it after my landlord requested changes. Not only that, they were able to handle moving the furniture that I was leaving in the apartment down to the basement. This was a last minute change that had a reasonable fee attached due to it not being originally quoted because the landlord originally said that I could leave the unwanted furniture in the apartment. But like in Empire Strikes Back, I had to pray that they weren't going to modify the deal further. Great experience and will definitely use Lexel when we move next time. read more

I can't even express the stress and disappointment in this company. I went with them because they were able to give us an exact date of delivery. We were moving from Massachusetts to Georgia. The packing and loading went ok.... accept for the double of the price. I did expect a higher price as we did have more than expected but not double. And then you are trapped because you need them. Advise would be to have a company come out and give you a true price not an estimate. The nightmare began when the date came to to deliver our belongings. I dealt with Nick. Our belongings were delayed by 3 days......then the truck broke down in NC. Then the next day they said they were on their way and would arrive next morning. Now NC is only 5 hours away. Lie after lie after lie. Even the moving young guys said they came straight from MA. They start unloading and so many things are damaged.... I mean dressers cracked in half... mattresses soaked. My wedding picture smashed and cut from glass. The list in endless. We take pictures and document. After I pay them they tell me the rest will arrive tomorrow. What ????? So I call my bank and was able to cancel the certified check. The next day they send 2 very unfriendly large men to retrieve a new check before they will unload 2nd truck. Thankfully not as many damaged items in this load. I proceed to start dealing with Nick about the damages. The come back with a figure that wouldn't even replace the soaked mattress. We go back and forth and I agree on a extremely low price for the damages that occurred. I considered getting a lawyer but wanted to just move on. When I received the check it was from Lexel and not an insurance company. So my guess the paid me so not to have to go through insurance. BOTTOM LINE IS STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. MOVERS STOLE EXPENSIVE BELONGING We recently used lexel to move us from Boston to New York. When we got there our moving van was parked a block away so they told us they needed to charge us extra. Because of this we had to leave our belongings to get more money from the atm. Our movers were alone with our stuff in New York at around 6pm for 10 minutes. The next day when we were accounting our stuff we noticed my PS5 was missing. ADVICE: If you do decide to use this company please leave anything that looks expensive in a box so it cannot be taken. I made the mistake of leaving the ps5 in its original box so it was very clearly a ps5. It was a lesson learned for sure on our part. Also do not leave your stuff unattended with them. When we filed the claim. This was their response "First of all, we would like to apologize for the damages and for all the inconvenience associated. Moving further on, we will process your claim settlement based on the coverage selected. Items damaged: 1. Box, medium. Electronics. Total Approx. WEIGHT: 60 lbs The approx. total weight of the articles damaged is around 60 lbs. Loss claim settlement Coverage Selected: Option A - Declared value of $0.60 per pound. Liability for loss: 60 lbs x $0.60/pound = $36.00 Total payout: $36.00 + $150.00 (inconvenience fee) = $186.00 Unfortunately, we were not able to determine the location of the missing box, and our investigation didn't bring any results. At this point we cannot allocate the person at fault of the missing box. In this case, we want to be reasonable and we would like to add $150.00 as an inconvenience reimbursement." so basically they gave us 186$ because the ps5 box was extremely light. This was all very disappointing and they noted that i was missing (not stolen). We are not stupid. A PS5 does not just go missing. I understand that bad things may happen. A company with lots of moving parts have unfortunate circumstances. I believe that our incident is likely not representative of the whole company and all the movers. However, what was most upsetting to us other than the incident was the lack of responsibility taken by the company. They chalked it up to "missing" item and did not acknowledge that the movers they hired had stolen our valuables. UPDATE: Yelp or Lexel removed my review so I am reposting. I dont know why my review was removed. I did not lie about anything that happened. If a moving company hires movers who steal things and the company does not take responsibility. I think future customers have a right to know. Please yelp do not remove this. read more

This company is pretty much a scam that will quote you low and absolutely drain you by the end. We moved a 1 bedroom apartment that was quoted for just over $2000 to move about 90 miles. The hourly rate was higher than i liked, but the quote seemed like a good price compared to most. In the end we ended up getting ripped off and paying $5,500. We lived within 15 minutes of the company and got grossly over charged that it would take and hour and half to get to us. They proceeded to charge "travel time" essentially 2x because the actual drive to our new place was added to the standard labor costs (400/hr) while also being "travel time". The movers went absolutely absurd with tape to the point of it being a pain to get boxes open (already taped boxes i might add). They even used an entire roll to hold open a door. multiple phone breaks, spending WAY too long taping things to an absurd dergee and even through they left 10 minutes before us, it took them an additional 40+ minutes to get to the same location. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this moving company! read more

We had the most amazing moving experience the other day thanks to Nick and his team from Lexel. We haven't had the best moving experiences in the past, and were worried about having another terrible experience but from the beginning to end Lexel was fantastic. Alex from booking was very upfront about the hourly rate, fuel charges, travel time, etc. He even told me about a Groupon that I could purchase to pay for the first 2 hours of the move which was great. Everything is done online and is posted in a very easy to understand format. Lexel is also fully insured which was important to us. On the day of our move Nick called to let us know he was on his way with an eta. He arrived right on time 30 minutes after the beginning of our 2 hour appointment window. Nick and his team moved quickly and took great care of our possessions. They were finished quickly and nothing was damaged, even some of our very fragile items. The move in total (including drive time from Quincy to Belmont in traffic) took 3 hours. Our final price came $15 under our original quote and we received 5% off for paying in cash. We don't expect to be moving again any time soon but we plan on using Lexel when we do decide to move in the future. read more

Lexel Moving did a great job for us packing and moving two large pieces of furniture from Boston to New York. From my initial contact with them to the final setting up of the furniture at is destination, they were completely professional every step of the way. I would absolutely use them again. read more

I had my first move in my life with this guys, and felt very lucky! Everything went pretty fast and smooth, even though we had tooooons of stuff to move. Lexel moving team dropped off packing supplies days in advance, gave us some hits how to pack in the most efficient way. Unfortunately, due to a very busy working schedule, we were unable to pack all of the stuff before the moving day, so they helped us to complete the job on the spot. All of the items survived the move without a single scratch, they carefully placed all the boxes where they were planned to be, then cleaned up after they were done, and even helped us to install air conditioners which wasn't part of the contract. Highly recommend! read more

Lexel movers were great! They arrived on time and they were very fast. They successfully moved our stuff through tiny stairwells with no damage. Would definitely recommend and use them again in our next move. read more

Good, not great. I booked Lexel to help load a POD. Since I live in the burbs, I figured I could save a bit on travel time costs by hiring Lexel. Sadly, I should have paid the extra and re-hired Stairhopper Movers. The booking process for Lexel was very easy, and their online system gave an estimate and quick confirmation. I had the same problems that others seem to have, based on reviews. Since I was the last move of the day, the guys arrived late, tired, and one short. My booking confirmation was for 3 movers, however only 2 were available. They did discount my rate by $20/hr, but I feel like if 1/3 of the labor is missing, a better discount should have been offered. The 2 guys who did show up were great, so maybe if you're the first move of the day, you'll have a better experience. read more

Just used Lexel for the first time, they were great! Easy to deal with, the crew they sent was awesome and very good value!! Will never move on my own again!! read more

Add us to Lexel's long list of happy customers. I've personally experienced (long ago) a moving company damage my furniture. I've also actually read the standard insurance policies all the movers are now using and they're barely worth the paper they're written on. Basically if it's damaged, it's just tough luck. So my biggest concern with this move was finding a company with a reputation for care. Lexel had an excellent reputation, were available when we needed them, and gave among the best pricing of the companies we contacted, so we chose them. I can't speak highly enough about their service, work ethic, teamwork, professionalism, and friendliness. These guys rock. They spent probably a couple hours carefully wrapping our furniture to protect it. They worked beautifully together, continually coordinating themselves and never slowed for a moment of the 10 hour day. Nothing ever banged into a wall, railing, or anything else. Never complained, never swore (not that I'd care - it just struck me how professional they were), never raised a voice. Just worked. Hard. All day. It's been a month since our move so there's been plenty of time to notice any damage if there was any. There wasn't. We're thrilled with Lexel and would definitely go with them again. We recommend them without any reservations. If you guys at Lexel are reading this, please give the team another *thank you* for us. read more

Lexel Moving has a super nice, friendly crew that is very careful and conscientious with your belongings. They are especially good with moving large, heavy and cumbersome pieces of furniture. Lexel was professional and efficient. Their quote was reasonable and communication was great. They arrived towards the beginning of their estimated timeframe and quickly got to work. They took great care of my furniture, especially the antiques. The 3 man crew finished within the window of time that was estimated and we tipped them generously. We will definitely use them again in the future! read more

Cannot say enough about the horrible experience I had w/ Lexel. I hired them to pack me (which they did a good job of) and move me long distance from Boston to TX. Although, they were very late to move me out (1 hr outside of the 3 hr provided time window). When they arrived in TX to move me in, they only showed up with 2 movers even though I was told there would be 3. They did not bring a dolly or anything to move my stuff so the move ended up taking over 4 hours to move in a 1 bedroom apt. The movers had no dolly or hand truck to move my belongings and expressed surprise at the "long hallway". Why would a loading dock go directly into one's apartment? I also wrote on the invoice that it was going to be an elevator move. I called to express my frustration and they found no record of my move despite searching by name and phone number. I even asked them to look up my move out that occurred on June 13th and they could not find me on the calendar. How can that be possible?? No one returned my phone call despite me calling multiple times during the 4 hours (I was told the manager was out to lunch) and no one called me back. My mattress bag was completely ripped in multiple places and my mattress is permanently stained with oil damage. I watched the movers who were rushing remove the moving blanket from my custom tufted headboard they sliced it with a boxcutter. This is a custom $2000+ headboard that cannot be repaired. 2 weeks went by without a single call back. Only email and text messages. I got a measly insurance check and they offered a $50 coupon for my next move. That's hilarious that they think I would ever use that. After explaining how laughable that was, they gave me a check for that amount. If you care about your belongings and actually getting the service that you pay for, go somewhere else. It should be reasonable to get a call back during a 4 hour move during business hours. read more

Lexel Moving was a very mixed bag for my September move in 2016. The quality of the move was amazing - the guys that came to move my bedroom furniture out of a fully occupied apartment on the third floor of a Brookline brownstone were awesome, and moved everything quickly, carefully, and efficiently. However, not once during the estimate process, nor during the move (until the very end) did anyone mention the 3-hour minimum. My move was done in less than 2 hours, but I had to pay for 3 regardless (again, no mention of this from the quote) and I ended up paying about $150 more than quoted in the estimate AND at the beginning of the move. I was unable to find any documentation on their website that they do indeed have a 3-hour minimum. I did really appreciate the care that our movers took to move our possessions, but I was taken aback at the lack of communication and was not at all pleased that the mover came back to the original apartment after finishing the job to "fix" the bill. read more

Beware of the reviews on yelp and working with Ross and Alex. Here are a few reasons why you should avoid Lexel at all costs: - Ross and Alex lie and accuse the customers of making up services that were promised and errors that were made by movers and the bookers. Any concerns you bring up to Ross or Alex, they immediately feign ignorance and try to spin the story in their favor. - Disrespectful to customers--I was told that I was "emotional" about my move when I called with a concern. There is effectively no customer service. - Moving team is unprofessional and barely speaks English--it took over 60 min. to put together a bed. The team also wore flip flops for the move. - Ross and Alex are unresponsive to customers during moves - Wait times can be over 3 hours--Ross specifically told me that being within 3 hours of a delivery window is acceptable. read more

We had an outstanding experience with our Lexel Moving Team! We had numerous 4-drawer file cabinets and 5-shelf bookcases to move from our basement, which was a very tight squeeze. Was quoted $500-$750 but it ended up being around $1,100. It is seriously well worth it - I cant remember the names of the two young guys that moved us but they were phenomenal. We moved from a one bedroom into a three level townhouse, and they worked really hard but also super carefully to get everything where it needed to be, and up many flights of stairs. Exceeded expectations! Firstly, they gave a very reasonable price to move a 1-bedroom apt from Boston to NYC. The whole process was seamless from initial contact to estimate to pick up to delivery. On time and very efficient. Fees for packing materials and taxes not included in quote, but not significant. Would hire again.

I have used Lexel Moving twice now and I cannot say enough good things. Starting with my moving specialist, Nick, he was available for phone calls whenever I had questions about my move and was extremely helpful and courteous. Because of COIVD, I wasn't even in Boston for my move. He was able to walk me through the entire move process and made me feel very comfortable about having them take care of my belongings even though I was so far away. PLEASE READ BEFORE HIRING LEXEL!! Find ANYONE else... This is literally the only review I've ever written on YELP for anything at all, because it's the only compellingly bad enough experience to warrant some consumer caution. We initially hired Lexel for our move based on positive reviews and competitive pricing... this was a mistake. Anyone who has ever moved (whether it be across the street or across the country) knows it can be a painful experience - PLEASE save yourself some stress & money by finding a better moving service... or, if you hire Lexel, keep expectations very low. 1. Don't expect to pay what you are quoted for -- Once Lexel had our things in their possession, our $2,400 quote interestingly enough became $4,200. No justification for the change, and nothing you can do when they have all your belongings unless you feel like hiring a lawyer. 2. Don't expect to get your things on time -- We gave Lexel 2-months notice for our move-in date and they provided a 10-day window for delivery (which was annoying, but fine). Nearing the end of that 10-day window, we had no update so we contacted Lexel... our things were delayed, should be there next week. Next week comes, no things. Delayed again, maybe next week... Our truck finally showed up 3 weeks late of our move-in while Lexel treated the situation nonchalanty with no recourse or refund. 3. Don't expect to receive your things in good condition -- Lexel's movers professionally wrapped and packed our sectional couch themselves. It showed up with wet, molded cushions and rust stains. Dented wine cooler. Scratched chairs and dressers. Our bar top bowed in the middle from so much weight being stacked on top. 2 shattered picture frames. Plenty more -- point being, they don't give a sh*t about your stuff once they're paid. It doesn't feel great bashing a company like this, but there have to be better options out there and hopefully you can find one. read more

Horrible company to work with. My move was reserved on August 2nd. I received confirmation twice via email that this was scheduled for tomorrow morning, which included a reservation number. On 8/30 I called to confirm everything was good to go. The worker was insanely rude. Claimed he could not find my reservation number. My phone number wasn't linked to a reservation etc. They booked over my reservation that was made a month in advance and forced me to go through another company the day before my move. When I got off the phone I received a cancellation email, meaning I in fact had a reservation booked. I would not recommend going through Lexel movers. But if you do make sure when you reserve you call 5 times in advance to confirm your reservations. 0 out of 5 stars. ATROCIOUS experience. read more
