Lexel is currently advertising a special on Groupon for $250.00 in moving services for a purchase price of $100.00 on Groupon. Specifically, the advertised special is for "Two Hours of Moving Services from Lexel Moving and Storage." The terms and conditions in the advertisement did not specify conditions for the size or staffing of the moving services. I would expect any logistic considerations to be explicitly specified in such an offering. Our move was scheduled with Lexel three weeks in advance as required. However, Lexel refused to honor their deal as advertised when confirming the move scheduled 10 days in advance. The refusal was based on the staffing level Lexel would need to provide for our move. I am extremely disappointed in the rude and unprofessional customer services experience, and was further dismayed when Lexel refused to honor their advertised special. The Groupon has since been revised to specify a two man crew. I understand the challenges in running a business, but also expect that any reputable business would honor any services and discounts published publicly. read more

Communication with Lexel was great at the beginning. That, along with the positive reviews I found and price I was quoted we decided to go with Lexel for our move 1 town away. Moving day The truck showed up on time. My husband and I looked at each other wondering if all of our stuff would fit in. We were relieved though when the guys did an initial walk through and told us, no problem-that they would indeed be able to fit all of our items into their truck. Fast forward three hours-they couldn't get everything in. We asked for a second truck and overheard the lead mover calling his boss who refused the request. We were left with essentially all of our garage items to transfer back-and-forth to our new and old house-taking us to near midnight. When the movers got to the house our set of wine glasses were shattered-because they said they weren't marked as fragile (although they were in the original box with pictures of wine glasses on them). Days later we noticed the scratches on our bedroom furniture and wood floors. I know they worked hard but it was not a five star move by any means. To top it off the manager refused to give us more than $150 back for our damaged goods and loss of our time completing the move-which is what we thought we had paid for.. read more

I used Lexel last week to make a local move in Boston. I live in a studio so it was a small move. The crew (2 guys and a truck) were on time. Very friendly and helping. They did not make any fuss. They picked the boxes, packed few miscellaneous items, and took everything to the truck with care. Everything arrived safely to my next place. At thing to keep in mind is that you also need to pay cost of their travel from their warehouse to our home and back after the move. I paid in cash so got 5% discount. Pretty happy! read more

They moved some clients about a month ago. They had a very hard time getting down a tight driveway, it took 3 drivers to figure it out. In the process of fitting the truck down the drive, they cracked a window casing. Other homeowners saw it happen, the client's family saw it and the drivers obviously saw it, as they were looking at the damaged area. Lexel refused to take responsibility saying his drivers denied it (even though they were approached about it right when it occurred), and that if his truck actually did it, it would have caused more damage. A week later they finished moving this client (elderly gentleman) and completely banged up the corners of the walls inside the building. We had to call 5-6 times to even figure out the procedure to file. After filing, we never received communication back. Finally after our 3rd call after filing, the owner denies it ever happened. Shady business - stay away. Our legal battle ensues.. read more

I have to share my experience for a few reasons - there are so many of you who had to move over 20 times for the past couple years (just like i did) and even more (or less) who can't even think about moving without having an anxiety. We all need the moving process to be very smooth fast and efficient. I faced a long-distance relocation. Had to move from MD to MA within a very short time. Also had to change my 3 bedroom house to a 2 bedroom apartment, huge plus is - getting rid of unnecessary stuff is so much easier when you have no time :) so after doing some research on the web (was not very familiar with MA area) i chose to go with a local movers, Lexel. They're very easy to communicate with, I informed the team i was running out of time so they're quick on giving me an estimate and a reasonable price to start with. The drive from MA to MA is not a quick one, however Boston movers were on time and made my day deff less stressful! Movers were running up and down the stairs so the house was empty of all (like a lot) of my boxes in no time! I was impressed. Getting to my place in MA few days later was like a relief to me. All my belongings were delivered safe, Lexel movers did not only provide a quality service(Thank you, guys!!) but also were really helpful and outgoing professionals! Summing it all up I've learned that whether you're an experience or a first time to move kinda person, you might want reach out to Lexel to make your life much easier and stress-free :) read more

Lexel Moving - was very impressed by all the hard work of Lexel's team! - Movers Near Me - Waltham, Massachusetts

Great company with professional service! I've hired Lexel movers for my long distance move from Boston to New York after the graduation. I have scheduled an onsite estimate and received a flat price offer. I really enjoyed the communication - fast, professional and helpful. I decided to pack myself to save some money, but ordered boxes from Lexel movers (they were kind enough to refund for the unused boxes they took back). Movers arrived on time and called half an hour before arrival. I had 3 movers at the pick up in Allston and 2 movers at the delivery in New York (same 2 guys out of 3 from pick up). All 3 guys were professional, friendly and careful with our belongings. Flat price helped me budget my move and have the payment ready without any doubts. Next time I would probably book Lexel movers to do the packing as well - great time saver! Thank you to the best movers! Highly recommend! read more

Beyond great! These guys are top notch. I screwed up a lot of the details of my move as I live out of state. I had forgotten to do my part of the agreement with the moving company. At the last minute, on Easter weekend, these guys forgave me for screwing up and they were at the site on Easter Sunday at exactly @2PM, the time I was given by them to arrive. The move went perfect and they were gentlemen and very thoughtful and thorough. The price was excellent and the understanding and service were without comparison. If ANYONE is moving in the Boston area I can recommend Lexel moving without reservation! read more

My girlfriend and I have moved a few times on our own - rent a U-haul or Penske trucks at local storage facilities, made multiple trips in our own cars. So now we decided to hire local movers. We had two options: have Lexel pack and move or do all packing on our own and have Lexel move us. So we decided to save some money and packed all the boxes by ourselves. In the end Lexel turned out to be cheap movers with great quality service! Three movers arrived on time, did a walk through we showed everything that needed to be moved and they got to work right away. Moving truck was parked right in front of our house with the ramp going straight into the front door! All items were wrapped and protected - dressers, night stands and kitchen table. When it came to unloading, we again did a walk through to show what room has what. We were directing them to where we want things while movers were unloading the truck. In the end we were asked if anything needs to rearranged inside the new house. We received couple good advices how we should arrange the bed and dressers in our bedroom. Good point! Highly recommend Lexel movers for your local movers and packers! read more

I hired Lexel moving to both pack my house up and move me locally. They did not actually give me the cheapest quote, but I thought their quote was more realistic about the time the move would take and therefore more accurate than they others I received. Ironic given how the move went. The gentlemen who packed me did an okay job. They were certainly fast and efficient. However, I imagine they must turn off the reason section of their brain in order to robotically go about their task. Example: I actually unpacked a dirty diaper wrapped in newspaper and carefully tucked away in a box!!! More importantly, I told them that the one thing they couldn't pack up was my son's basketball, and we agreed that it would be set aside in a certain area of the house that they wouldn't touch. When I brought my son home from daycare and he saw the house full of boxes, he was confused and uneasy. As I expected, the one thing he wanted to see was his basketball, but when I went to the corner to get it, it was gone along with everything else I'd put aside. I had to open 8 boxes that night to find the ball. The bigger issue came two days later when they were 9 HOURS LATE for my move. NINE. They had called several days before and asked if I would be willing to change my move time to 2pm instead of 8am for $50 off the price. Because I would have to arrange childcare in that case, I told them $50 wasn't worth it to me to change it. They said they couldn't do any better than that, so we agreed to keep the original time. At 9am the day of the move, I got a call saying they wouldn't be there until noon. I said that was unacceptable because I had to leave to pick up my son at 5pm at the latest. They said they would be done by 5. I was skeptical, and they said basically nothing. So I called a friend and asked him to pick up my son. I then drove the hour and half to my son's daycare and back to drop off a car seat so my friend could get him home. At 1:30pm, they called again to tell me that they would be to me in 45 mins. At this point, it was very clear that they were not going to finish before my son's bedtime, so I had to call my friends again and ask if he could spend the night. Keep in mind he had no pajamas, no toothbrush, no sippy cups sent with him for this impromptu sleep over. The movers actually showed up at 5pm. They finished just after midnight. They had the gall to start complaining about how much stuff I had around 9pm. One of them asked for a beer when they finished. I did and do try to remind myself that the actual men who moved me did not likely cause my move to be so awful. I'm sure that was someone making unethical and calculated decisions in an office somewhere. Clearly they had a conflict in their scheduling, and tried to buy a way out of it with $50. The thing that makes me the angriest is if they had just said, "We're sorry, but we've had a conflict and we need to change your move to 2pm", I would have been annoyed, but I would have been able to plan for it. My son would have had pajamas to sleep in that night. I would have known that he would not have been spending the first night in the new house and could have changed other plans I had to get him acclimated. The way they handled it showed no respect for their customers. Once they had made the choice to screw me over, no real attempt was made to try and make it up to me. I think the foreman said he was going to wave a $35 fee. When I reminded him that I was originally offered $50 for a 2pm move, he upped the discount to $50. This move was probably the worst experience I've ever had with a service provider of any kind. Strongly DO NOT recommend Lexel Moving. read more

I'm a student in Boston and Lexel movers did my move last month. My move (1 bedroom apartment to a studio) from Boston to Brookline was pretty easy. The only issue was my huge couch which was hoisted through the window with no problem like they do it everyday! There was no packing involved since all my belongings were packed by the time my movers arrived. The move itself went fast and everything was moved carefully and safely. Highly recommend this moving company! They have cheap and flat rates, hard working and professional movers. I was offered a student discount. I think it depends on how much your total bill is - my discount was $30. Make sure you pack everything yourself and count your boxes - makes it faster and cheaper!!! read more

Lexel did a great job. They communicated well, arrived on time and ended up on budget. Everything was carefully moved, they didn't damage any walls which was a big concern for us. We'd certainly use them again although I hope we won't be moving for a while!! read more

Lexel was great, they coordinated a unique move for us, in which we swapped apartments with the people living in the place we moved into. This female senior citizen recently needed to have goods stored in a locker in Florida brought to my new location in New Hampshire. This transaction with Lexel Moving of Waltham, Mass could not have gone more smoothly. The price quoted was exactly what was charged .. no hidden fees. I needed a same day move of a bedroom set and other miscellaneous items. Lexel was one of the only local companies I talked to that provided a fair hourly rate without a minimum, so I booked with them. I was given a start time window of between 3-5:00. They called me at 5:00 to apologize but previous jobs had been delayed so they were going to be another hour. After another call to me, the truck (huge!) finally arrived at 7:30. While the delay normally might have been upsetting, I was OK with it since it was such a last minute job and I really needed the furniture out on that day. They ended up discounting the rate quite a bit, which I appreciated. The guys were very friendly and worked efficiently into the night. I would definitely use them again. read more

So I am here standing in the middle of our new home as our furniture is being assembled and can't say enough about Lexel movers! They are the best! This morning our team arrived on time, had all the tools to do take apart our bed and dining table, blankets to wrap it all and the carts on wheels to roll it all to the elevator. I was watching the crew all day long and all of them were super efficient, friendly and very professional. We just moved from Boston to Brighton with a touch access on both end and can't be any happier with the way Lexel handled our move! Superior! read more

We moved from Quincy, MA to Charlotte,NC. Overall the service was excellent. I chose Lexel for the below reasons 1) Responsiveness and follow-ups 2) Price (Easily the lowest) 3) Offering (2 day delivery for out of state and your boxes arrive in the same truck it was picked up with the same crew) We requested a quote, they followed up immediately, came over the next day and offered a FLAT rate. Ross was excellent. The quote was very reasonable. I checked with few other movers and they were easily 50% lower on price compared to competition. The best part is Lexel offered a 2 day delivery for interstate. Few days before the actual move I requested if they could pick up my stuff a little earlier than scheduled. They said they will try their best and on the day of delivery (Friday) they came over two hours earlier than scheduled which was very much appreciated. It was a 5 man crew and they were out of the condo in about 1 hour. Impressive!! They were expected to arrive on a Sunday but to my surprise in a good way they called me Saturday night and said that they had arrived. They offered to unload the same night or wait there as per schedule for next morning. Saturday night worked well for me and they unloaded. Took them less than an hour. All my boxes including the fragile ones arrived in great condition. Overall the experience was flawless and will highly recommend their service if they continue to offer such a quality experience at that price. Note: You get an additional 5% discount if you pay cash which I took advantage of. read more

The best move we've had yet - and we move too often. When we first got our quote, I thought something must be wrong: it was HALF the other quote we received. After seeing all of the other reviews online though, we decided to take the risk and go for it. I'm glad we did. Lexel movers were thoroughly communicative - from their online interface for the move to confirmations the week before, the day before, to letting us know even more exact timing the day of the move and the day of deliver - tremendously friendly, efficient, and protective of our belongings. We didn't "lose" one piece of furniture in the move, a feat for transporting an entire household across states. Tim was especially helpful and patient as my wife and I tried to figure out where to put everything upon arrival at our new home. Thank you Lexel for an excellent move. read more

Lexel Moving helped us moved from an apartment to a house a few weeks ago. The team moved all of our furniture very efficiently and quickly. Last month I have moved five pieces of furniture and multiple boxes from Boston, MA down to Salisbury, MD with an extra stop in Washington, DC to drop off some crates at the assisted living. In Boston movers were expensive and Lexel came in reasonably priced. I know that it can be a bit challenging with an out of state move to get your stuff delivered on time but my furniture was picked up on time as scheduled and delivered within 3 days as agreed. I've used some of the packing services for the china and wine collection we have. Movers were professional careful and fast. Recommend to all families. Thank you for great work! read more

I have used Lexel twice for local moves, and both times they have gone above and beyond. They really understand the challenges of small Boston apartments and are willing to do what it takes to move your items carefully and efficiently. The prices are very fair and won't break the bank. Very worth it to help make stressful moves easier. If you're on the fence and wondering if it's worth it or if you should just rent a truck and do it yourself...Lexel is definitely worth it. read more

I moved from Waltham, MA to South Boston in late January and I was very happy with Lexel. I was able to book the move just a couple of weeks in advance. The movers came within the time frame I was promised and were both super helpful, quick, and very nice. I believe their names were Nick and Peter. I'm on the third floor in Southie and they were still able to move everything into my one bed room very quickly. I'll definitely be using them again. read more

I hadn't planned on hiring movers but at the last minute, I decided I was going to need help. I entered a request for a quote online on a Monday to schedule for the upcoming Saturday. I received a call back within 30 minutes. Alex said that they could only do Friday by when I explained my situation, he arranged for his movers to come to Brookline after a big job they were doing to make sure I got my things moved on Saturday. The rate that he charged was quite a bargain! On moving day, there was constant communication as to where they were and what time to expect them. The movers were extremely quick and very friendly! Lexel movers were timely, efficient, and polite. We had a great experience overall. Thanks!

Update - I got a personal call from Russ who apologized for the company not following up on my request for estimate. They are having computer issues, and was very sincere in his apology. I have decided to give them a try. I moved this weekend, and the move went almost perfectly. They were extremely timely (estimate of arrival was between 8-10am, and they arrived at 7:50am). Only snag was the two movers weren't told prior that they would be providing packing services as well, even though I made that clear when I was getting the quote. That was a bit of a surprise for them, and they probably weren't happy. However, they didn't show it, and took it with stride. The move took longer than quoted, but that was because of the packing piece. If I didn't need their help with packing, they probably would have finished the job ahead of schedule. Also, I had a lot of large heavy furniture pieces, which I was concerned about just having the two guys. But they did great. Eugene took great care at ensuring my couch was put back together safely and accurately. V kept me entertained with conversation while we packed up my kitchen. So far, as I work through the unpacking process, nothing is damaged or broken, which can happen even with the utmost care. I am very happy. I will definitely consider using Lexel again for my next move. While they weren't the cheapest moving company I got quotes from, they were less expensive than most. They were very cost effective, and I didn't feel like I lost anything in quality. Great experience. Very straight forward billing, and no hidden fees. Thank you to Lexel Moving and Storage! You took some of the stress out of my move. read more

This was my first time using a moving company and I am positive I would never try moving myself again. So much less stress :) I got help from Lexel to move apartments a mile apart with in the same town (Waltham). They were very professional and quick - and finished the job with the minimum 2 hr price that they charge. I had quite a bit of stuff with at least 23 large boxes, a queen size bed and a huge TV but they had no problems moving it in less than 2 hours. The were very professional and unloaded the stuff as we instructed in appropriate rooms. Would definitely recommend. read more

We hired Lexel to move the furniture in our 3 bedroom condo in Brookline to Newton. We hired them despite having a higher estimate from them than other movers (all were well rated) because they had a very professional presentation and felt easy to deal with. They arrived about an hour late, due to traffic, but moved very quickly while carefully protecting our furniture. The staff was friendly and polite. We had one glitch. Our sofa was extra long and wouldn't fit in the elevator and they didn't want to use a construction lift on the property to take it out. We eventually had them come back another day for the sofa using a lift from the construction company. Apparently they would normally use a crane and the lift required that someone had to ride down the lift with the furniture, something the lift people wouldn't do and the movers wouldn't usually do. The movers eventually agreed to ride down with the sofa. When they arrived at the new apartment with the sofa, it wouldn't fit up the stairs or in the elevator. After discussion with management they stored the sofa overnight and came back with the sofa and five men the next day. Using ropes and a stepladder they were able to get the sofa up to the balcony and into the apartment on the third floor. While there was some contention over the sofa, we feel that they stepped up to the plate and handled the situation well. read more

Where do I start? They low balled my moving estimate and then increased my quote but couldn't explain the increase. The math did not add up. This is not my first move (Moved 3 times in Boston in the past 4 years) and by far this was the worst experience I had . They do not advocate for their customer and were very unprofessional. These are just a few examples. Don't get sucked in by their 5 Star reviews. I researched these reviews and most, if not all, are made up . Needless to say, I will file a complaint . read more

Update: I received a personal call from Ross and we agreed on a resolution that was satisfactory and acceptable. Completely withstanding the money, I appreciate business owners like Ross who care enough to at least make an effort and take the time to reach out to their customers. I received outstanding service from Lexel Moving in every way. From the moment I contacted Lexel, the representatives were courteous and helpful. I needed the move to occur on a certain date, and Lexel found a way to make the move possible on the date requested. I received a written estimate in an email, and also online description of the move with many helpful details. The estimate provided was honored at the completion of the move. The movers were on time in the morning in DC and the move was completed the same day to Boston. The movers moved every item perfectly, and also were kind and courteous. Moving is one of the most stressful things and Lexel moving did so much to help minimize it. Alex and his whole team were fantastic. The quoting process was quick and clear; the preparation and communication was great; his team arrived early for packing and were very professional, took great care, asked questions; the moving day, they took care of everything, brought plenty of people, continued their care and questions. The actual price came in right at what the quote stated. I cannot be more pleased and happy with Lexel and their work. Thank you Alex and team! read more

Don't believe the good reviews you see for Lexel. It's what originally drew me in, but I was grossly overcharged for the service and had a terrible experience. First, the movers were over 2 hours late past the window they gave me for arrival. I had already reserved elevators for my move, and because of this I had to scramble last second to get another elevator. Secondly, the movers were EXTREMELY slow, and it was painfully obvious they were trying to milk the clock to charge extra. Between every trip, they would literally be slow-walking and checking their phones between the moving truck and the building. Once we got to my new building, the movers suddenly started moving much faster, I think because they decided they had milked the clock enough. I was quoted $400 to move my 1BR apartment less than 10 minutes away, and the final bill ended up being almost $800. I think the worst thing about this was the sheer amount of time wasted; just tell me that it's going to cost $800 and go about it at a normal pace instead of wasting the time of everyone involved. Overall, an extremely negative experience and I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more
